I absolutely love this book; and am hoping there will be at least 10 other books in this series! The story is so wonderfully written, with amazing characters and story development. The story is so well written that even if you have not background on this type of fantasy/science-fiction genre. You will be able to easily fall into the story and get lost within its pages. I think that the only this the author could do to improve the experience for the reader, is to make the books longer. As well use a different notation to denote the mind speech of a character. The use of the greater than and less than symbols is a little distracting when changing characters, wile one is using mind speech and others are speaking aloud. Those are the only flaws I can see and have read the book several times. It is now in my top 10 books and I am eagerly looking forward to the coming books. I would highly recommended this book!

From the magic system, to the city characters to the dungeon interaction.... This book is great, and fortunately for us far more complete than the Slime Dungeon series... While Slime Dungeon was first, this Dungeon book improves greatly on the focus and purview of the people and is working steadily and wonderfully on the world. I hope we see more from this author soon....

My only complaint is that the book seems to end a bit briefly. ONE of the reasons that make this book better than the other dungeon book is that there are two main characters in this book. One is the Dungeon yes, but the other is a Newby adventurer just getting to his feet and for some reason we do not get to see him finish the day at the end of the book... In my opinion, the perfect length of the book probably needed another two chapters or so to bring the story to a satisfying conclusion... Other than that, Slime Dungeon fans rejoice you found not only something to tide you over, but perhaps something superior... Be aware forever that the books are close in the beginning in storyline....

4.5/5

I very much enjoyed the book. He creates an interesting world that is seen both through the eyes of an adventurer and the eyes of the dungeon. While this book doesn't mention it much (it does more in book 2), it provides an interesting exploration of how good and evil depend on your point of view and background. The growth of both parties is fun to read about and the world is an interesting one. Worth reading.

This is a spectacular book with a very unique take on the traditional dungeon that adventurers explore approach. Rather than just having the adventurer's point of view, the book also takes the reader into the thoughts of the dungeon itself and the processes it goes through to do tasks such as: grow stronger, create loot, learn, and so forth. The author also uses a very well developed magic system with impressive depth that is delivered in a measured fashion so as not to be overwhelming. What makes this magic system doubly impressive, is its incredible depth of development and its ingenuity; I have read hundreds of fantasy books and not come across a magic system quite like this one. Finally, the author makes sure to reward the characters for their hard work. Although there is a small amount of "you are super special so you get an advantage from the start" stuff going on, mostly the characters (even the special one) has to really work for all their accomplishments. Overall, this was an amazing read at a seriously low price for its quality that I highly recommend. Also, it looks like there is going to be a sequel!

What really annoys me are the people who call this a copy of slime dungeon, in a list of bullet points i will say why not, in another, I will list similarities.
1:The personalities are different
2: Different Power Systems
3: Different Focuses of story
4: 60/40 split for dungeon/human compared to 90/10
5: Very different plots
6: (This is more so a argument) People who think this is a copy of S.D should realize that dungeons and dungeon stories have existed before, including the idea of dungeon fae.
Similarities
1:Dungeon
2:Helper
3: Intellegent
4: Magic elements
About it
Counterpoints
1: see 6
2: see 6
3: how would you have and dungeon focus without a intelligent dungeon?
4: this is a fantasy, 7/10 have magic, 3/10 have cultivation, so piss off

Dungeon Born had me laughing and biting my nails in turn. I loved experiencing the dynamics of the main characters, and found myself torn between characters. I mean everybody has to eat, right?

Some minor typos noted, but nothing that detracted from the flow of the story. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good fantasy adventure and especially to those who are familiar with dungeon diving RPGs.

It was an interesting story that had me too enthralled to put down. While some of the descriptive parts ran long, the action sequences and character interactions were excellent. Can't wait for more books in this series
