I waited weeks... okay months... for this book to arrive! Only for it to be delivered when I was out of town on business. Coming home and opening this coveted purchase was the best welcome home. Cant wait to cook every single recipe!!! Thanks Michelle! The recipes all look amazing!!!

I am obsessed with this cookbook! My hubby and I started the Whole30 and were bored with the recipes in the Whole30 book. Then my friend told me about The Whole Smiths and I haven’t looked back. I look forward to cooking every day!!

Finally, a recipe book that is doable and not intimidating for the health conscious foodies! Every single recipe looks like something I’d love to try and make. Thank you Michelle, I’ve been following you for a while on Instagram and grateful I bought your cook book! You are awesome!

Amazing choice for a cookbook if you’re into whole30. Pretty much every single recipe can be modified to be compliant if it isn’t already! Michelle’s recipes are super easy to work into a meal plan and there’s something for everyone!

I NEVER write reviews for anything but the Brussels Salad from this cookbook is so divine I had to write one! I substituted dried cranberries for the dates and used a very good Pecorino Romano. Outstanding and highly recommended!! ????

I LOVE this cookbook!! I don’t normally write reviews but this cookbook has been a game changer. Every recipe I have tried has been fantastic (and easy to make) and my kids agree. Our fave so far is the mixed berry frittata. I wish I could include more pics in this review.

Best Whole30, paleo cookbook ever. If you were to only buy one book this is the one to get. The recipes are simple yet delicious without having crazy ingredients you’ve never heard of. I cannot wait to cook every recipe!!! Worth every penny!!!

Easy, fun, HEALTHY, family friendly recipes! I haven’t found one recipe that my husband, 10 year old, and 10 month old do not love! I love that the recipes use simple ingredients, that are already on hand, but pack in BIG flavor!

Absolutely love this cookbook. This is the first cookbook that I have purchased that I have loved every recipe that I have made. Every recipe is easy to follow and a great book to get even if you are new to cooking.

So many good recipes, we have made a bunch already and have only had the cookbook for less than two weeks! Very easy, delicious and kid approved!! Please do yourself a favor and buy this cookbook, you won’t be disappointed!

Holy moly! First recipe I made out of this was the chicken Alfredo with spaghetti squash. First of all-who even knew you could make dairy free Alfredo sauce?!? It’s freaking delicious. Can’t wait to try more!

A great cookbook with beautiful images. The only downside is I disagreed with Melissa Hartwig's forward in the book where she says this is a cookbook with easy recipes not made with ingredients "you never heard of" or "don't keep in the house." Maybe I'm an inexperienced cook, but there were several items in multiple recipes that I wouldn't normally keep in the house or wouldn't even know where to begin searching for in a grocery store.

This cookbook is fine, but since it was endorsed by Whole30 I expected more compliant recipes. Even the recipes that are supposedly compliant have to be modified from the original. “Just omit the cheese! Just leave out the honey!” I want recipes that are good in their compliant form, and I was afraid to make a meal and feel unsatisfied without the originally pictured dairy ingredients.

The new Whole Smiths Good Food Cookbook is LEGIT! So many recipes are actually ones I feel like I could make! We've already tried several of the recipes and they are truly delicious and will be on repeat over here! Well done Michelle!!!! The Whole Smiths Good Food Cookbook: Whole30 Endorsed, Delicious Real Food Recipes to Cook All Year Long

Michelle's take on family-friendly whole food recipes is refreshing. They are simple, delicious, and highly adaptable to your personal preferences. Her voice is approachable, and the ingredients are easy to find. Anyone intimidated by Whole30 cooking could benefit from this cookbook.

My family and I have loved Michelle’s recipes on her blog so I knew I had to order her cookbook and it exceeded my already high expectations! The chimichurri wings are so flavorful and I can’t wait to start making more of her recipes. They use ingredients that I often have on hand and can be done quickly for a family! The pictures are also beautiful!

I returned the book after finding the recipes to either be too basic or not even whole 30 compliant. I don't want to adapt the recipes. The book is misleading on that regard. There are sandwiches in there for goodness sake.
This is a shame. Learning and practicing whole30 is tough. This is not even a little bit helpful. It only confuses people.

Not a fan of this book, I’m actually returning it. A lot of the recipes use pre made store bought items, and I was surprised how little dinner options there are. The recipes can be “modified” to be whole30 compliant, but I found most of the recipes to be too simple and basic. I guess that’s good if you want easy quick dinners. Pretty pictures though!

I think the printer needs to double check this item. My copy was printed upside down and backwards with several pages were not even cut. I’m sure I will love the recipes but poor presentation on the book

I was so excited when I first heard about this cookbook and Michelle certainly did not disappoint! The recipes are so great, easy to find ingredients, not too many ingredients, easy to follow directions, perfect results every time. I've personally always struggled with breakfast, everything seems to be pancakes and waffles, but Michelle put together so many great, healthy options that are FAR from boring! That's definitely a theme through the whole book. Whether you're just beginning your clean eating journey or you're several Whole 30's into it, this book is absolutely a staple for your kitchen. I can see this as something I will pass down one day, it's THAT good. Well done Michelle!

I pretty much have every popular Paleo cookbook under the sun and my husband told me not to buy anymore unless I get rid of some because we just don’t have the space, so I stopped buying them. I recently started following Michelle Smith on Instagram and saw her promoting this book, which again, I had no intention of buying because I’m on a break with cookbooks. However, while I was purusing the aisles of Costco, I stumbled across this book and started thumbing through it. When I saw a recipe for Tuna Casserole, I threw the book in my cart and bought it.

The book is beautiful inside and out. I love that it’s hardcover so it lays flat on my counter and holds the page when I’m cooking. The recipes are really creative (hello Banana Eggs!) and there are a lot of kid friendly recipes as well (hasselback tots, popcorn chicken & pizza soup to name a few). The recipes are all approachable and I’d seriously make everything in this book, which I find rare in a cookbook (it’s like buying an album where you like all of the songs). I also like the little stories under the headings that tell how the recipe came to be.

If you’re considering this book, definitely add it to your cart and you’ll be happy that you did.

This book was heavily advertised all over as being whole30 approved, etc. As such, I was expecting the recipes to be whole30 compliant. That is not the case. I was shocked by the number of not compliant recipes there were. If your'e buying this as a whole30 cookbook, DON'T. It's not even paleo! It's like using those names to sell cookbooks and I'm really disappointed that Melissa Hartwig was on board with this...but I guess if she gets her cut of the money she doesn't care so much about the details.

I didn’t read the fine print apparently. I thought this was a whole30 approved cookbook. Some of the recipes seems a little obscure. Banana eggs? Really? A few of the recipes have ingredients I had not heard of and the author doesn’t explain where to even find those “odd” ingredients. For the price I expected a lot from the recipes. I will be returning it to where I purchased it.... Costco.

I started doing Whole 30 last year... this is an excellent way to continue eating and cooking clean and delicious food that’s great for every day. Every recipe lists dietary restrictions it fits into making the choice up to you, but all recipes are healthy and extremely easy to put together. It’s a great cookbook for those who want a little more freedom with a healthy diet, while having options for delicious treats and wholesome meals. I don’t even look through my other cookbooks anymore, as I’ve been obsessed with every recipe I’ve tried.

Recipes tried:
Asian Braised Shortribs- Extremely easy, quick, great flavors and will be a favorite for company
Chipotle Lime Shrimp- Like Michelle says in her book... one of my favorite shrimp recipes of all time! 5 minute prep and 10 minute cook! So easy and made for a fun meal
Strawberry Protein Chia Seed Pudding- Amazing for breakfast but considering serving it for dessert at dinner parties. This recipe reminded me of tapioca pudding, which I love. It also kept me full until lunch! I will try with all sorts of fruit!
Apple and Caramelized Onion Pork Loin- This tasted like home cooking. The herb and garlic rub was so delicious with the tart apple topping.

My husband bought this for me on a whim, and all recipes have been as good as they look on the page. I am so happy to have this book and recommend it to anyone, cooks or non-cooks alike! Especially if you want a great way to eat good healthy food without restricting your love of food!

Pros include: easy to follow, quick, health conscious, diet friendly, delicious recipes, satisfying meals

This book is the best!! It is so amazing if you are doing Whole30, Paeo, or figuring out your food freedom. Never before have I looked at a cookbook and wanted to cook almost 100% of everything in there. Plus everything is pretty simple so you won't be frustrated in the kitchen all day. Usually I dog ear things I want to cook but I couldn't this time because: 1) it's not helpful when almost every page is dog eared & 2) the book is so beautiful I can't bring myself to dog ear it. All in all, this is for sure the best cookbook purchase I've ever made.

I almost didn’t buy this cookbook because so many recipies are available online these days I thought I didnt need it but I am so glad that I ordered it. My husband is too, we just finished out second Whole30 and are figuring out our food freedom he loves being able to kind easy healthy recipies all in one spot. The chicken alfred is my favorite so far, I am not going back to the dairy filled stuff. Banana Eggs were a crazy combination but delicious and we can’t wait to have more.
We just love how simple and delicious the recipies are and the kids even get a chance to help. ❤️

LOVE Michelle & the Good Food Cookbook! I was lucky enough to meet Michelle at Book Larder in Seattle, where I actually purchased a signed copy of this book (did not purchase on the store so this review does not reflect my purchase experience).

I've only done 2 recipes so far - Michelle's matcha latte recipe and the Instant Pot Asian short ribs.

The matcha latte is SO thick & creamy! The short ribs are absolutely delicious. I LOVE how easy this recipe is. Throw all ingredients into the pressure cooker for 1 hour, reduce sauce and serve. The flavor is intense and it's paleo friendly.

Michelle's style is approachable, doable and her recipes are delicious! Love this book so far!

I LOVE this cookbook! Somehow Michelle manages to use ingredients I normally have on hand, but put them together in a way that is so tasty, and super easy! I’m a mom of two little ones and I try as best as I can to cook good, healthy food for my family, and this cookbook has made this past week of cooking for my family super yummy and super easy. And I love that the ingredients aren’t crazy or expensive. Thank you for making while food cooking accessible and delicious!

This is an awesome cookbook!! We've already made a couple recipes and they are delicious! I made the Grain Free Popcorn Chicken "for the kids" and I couldn't stop eating them! We also loved the Chicken Alfredo Spaghetti Squash and the Whole Roasted Chicken. Amazing! Michelle's recipes are delicious and really family friendly. She has achieved her goal of taking pretentiousness out of healthy eating. And her photos are beautiful too! This is going to be a "go-to" book in our house.

Michelle did a fabulous job with this cookbook! I love how the recipes are real, whole food! I love how she made them with AFFORDABLE and simple ingredients. I’ve tried a few already, and I highly highly reccomend this cookbook! The hasselback tots with horseradish dipping sauce are a game changer! This cookbook is beautiful, well written, and easy to follow the recipes! Get this cookbook! Especially if you like eating real, whole food! As a busy working mom, this cookbook is on point for our life. I bought the cookbook and I didn’t have to go shopping for any special ingredients—I had everything on hand. The recipes are easy, quick, yet still full of flavor that will not leave you deprived. If you eat Paleo, want to eat Paleo, or just want to start eating more Whole Foods this cookbook is a must. I wish I would’ve had it when I first contemplated eating Paleo because it takes the intimidation out of things, and eases you into the new lifestyle. Thanks Michelle!

I love cooking, and I love trying new recipes. I'm constantly trying to find new dishes to cook for me and my hubs. I DON'T love seeing a picture of a delicious looking dish, and then getting intimidated by ALL the ingredients I will need in order to make it... especially when I have no idea what the ingredients are. Meet Michelle Smith, someone who's recipes haven't ever let me down! I have always loved watching her W30 takeover videos, and now I have her cookbook with her most prized recipes. :) Each page has simple but delicious recipes, and her instructions are easy to follow. GET THIS BOOK AND TRY THE CHIMICHURRI PARTY WINGS (p. 59). You will not be disappointed.

I couldn’t wait for the store to ship this to me, so I rushed out to get it at Target (even though it cost me a little more). This is THE BEST! I’m not a big cookbook user, as I typically like to loosely follow a recipe and put my own spin on things, but Michelle has done such an amazing job creating delicious looking and sounding food, that I can’t wait to make all these recipes! The Salty Downward Dog mocktail is AMAZING! Whether you use cookbooks regularly or not and whether or not you follow a Paleo/Whole30 diet, you’re going to want to get this book. When you recreate Michelle’s magic, you’re sure to impress even the pickiest eaters in your life.

I just got this book and I made the homemade 1 minute mayo which was delicious and easy but the sea salt choc chip cookies were complicated to make and tasted gross to me. The butternut squash chipotle zig zag fries were flavorful but wayy too spicy. Hoping I'll find some good recipes the more I use it.

I didn’t find much of interest. The title is a bit deceptive. Several recipes contain honey, and there’s one for baked oats, too. And one calling for a store-bought pizza crust. I bought it this morning, took a quick look through the recipes, and retuned it without making a note of a single recipe. It just wasn’t for us.
