This book was nothing like I thought it would be. The twists and turns throughout, the chemistry of Rhiannon and Xavier, being off the charts. I couldn't put it down. Is definitely one of my most favorite books!

This book is short, formulaic and fairly boring at times. The driving force behind Xander's motivation for taking revenge along with the whole way in which he does so is weak and doesn't make a lot of sense. The two characters vacillate back and forth between hating/fighting each other to suddenly wanting to drop everything and get it on. Rhi tries the same tactic to escape about every 20 pages or so it seems. The climax was lacking. The worst part is that this entire book can be read in about 3 hours. I like the concept of the storyline, but it just feels like this was thrown together quickly. For the price, it's just not worth it.

I only made it 24% through this book. I actually tried to return it. The writing is terrible. There are unclear time gaps in writing. Rhiannon goes from sitting in her car with her doors locks to ....what...blood trickles down a knuckle. I had to reread sections. I thought I was missing paragraphs, unfortunately I was not. It is terrible. I have to ask myself if this author had a proofreader.....

Meet Xavier and Rhiannon, they are an extremely addictive pair; with the right amount of explosive chemistry. That’s how Logan Chance writes his stories from the moment you open up to the first page to the very last page it’s nothing but dynamite. He has the power to create scenes that will transport you into another world; isn’t that why we all read, to be transported into another world other than our own?

I’ve been unfamiliar with mafia romance, which made me a mafia romance virgin. 3 hrs and 13mins later, I was proud to say, I pooped my cherry and was no longer a mafia romance virgin anymore. After every page turned this book seemed to get hotter and hotter. At one point my eyebrows fairly singed off my face but it didn’t matter, I just couldn’t stop reading and wanted more when it was over.

One thing I've always been drawn to is other people’s darkness, strangeness, sadness, and vulnerabilities, which is why I think this book was so intriguing. Rhiannon is often offended by Xavier’s rudeness and his egotistical ways, but it’s her deep feelings that are masked by her carnal urges that helps her to not be afraid of him. Xavier is aggressive at times, but can be the ultimate force in Rhiannon’s eyes. Strong, confident, capable, proud and respectful. These two are attracted to each other like magnets, and there can be an obsessive and addicting quality to their attraction. Xavier and Rhiannon’s explosive attraction for one another is undeniable, not just physically but mentally as well. They’re magnetically tied to one another, even though their relationship can switch back and forth between hate and love, it’s their bond they’ve had since childhood that keeps them together and why they keep going back for more.

It’s not just Logan’s writing style that’s intriguing to me. It’s the emotional dynamics between his characters that’s intriguing. He has a unique ability to write the stories that he does. He knows how to affect all his readers with his written words. Logan Chance not only entertains us with the sexy and humorous parts but there is an important meaning behind his stories as well.

Hopefully, this review has helped you to make that final decision and you just can’t wait to read it now. When you’re done reading Taken and if you’re not hot and bothered while reading this book, chances are you may need your eyes checked. I know for me, I look forward to reading more books by Logan Chance and so will you if you look beyond the words he writes. You’ll be amazed at what you will see and what I’ve seen from the very first book he wrote. So, if you are still reading this, then thank you and please go now and check this book out. I swear you won’t be disappointed.

TAKEN - Is Flaming Hot! A whirlwind life-changing full-of feeling story that seized my attention from the start. I was completely fixated until the perfect-happy ending. Mr. Chance has created a thrilling story with praise-worthy characters that will have you cheering for them and leaving you wanting more. Inside; family drama, humor, suspense, action, moments that tug your heart, a brain-teasing mystery, dynamic vivid scene descriptions, and toe-curling intense sensuous romance that leaves you breathless.

Rhiannon a Mafia Princess and Xavier the son of the maid were best friends until their teens and then he disappeared from her life. Xavier now is gorgeous, wealthy, extremely powerful and a genius. Rhiannon grew into a sassy, intelligent beauty. Xavier had once told her he would take her away from the life she loathed; she never dreamed he would one day hold her captive. Their story does have a bit of darkness but reaching their sunlight is quite a stirring story.

An impressive story fused with reality and fantasy. Xavier's backstory helps the reader understand the issues that wreaked havoc with his life. The full cast of characters is superb and the chemistry between R&X is off the charts; adored them together. If you treasure Mafia romance this a fantastic book for your library. I loved this story so much {I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy and bought the book too.} Without reservations, I recommend this read.

This book was amazingly written. The way Logan Chance brought the characters to life was like watching your favorite movie.

Xavier just want to save Rhiannon from a life of hell she is being dealt by he mob dad. His love for her is so heart wrenching as he pushes is away to do the right thing.

Rhiannon just wants a normal life and to love whoever she wants not who her father picks. She loves Xavier so fiercely she makes herself lock the feelings away.

This book is definitely different than other mafia romance books. It gives you a different take on how the author writes. I would highly recommend one-clicking this book!!! I feel like my words will NEVER do this book justice.

I found the characters annoying and everything feels forced as if some story plot boxes needed to be checked off. Xavier keeps telling Rhi to stop fighting him after kidnapping her but she barely puts up any resistance to anything. A third of the way through I just wanted it to be over with. I read the whole thing since I did pay for it. Wouldn't recommend.

Sooo... have to say that I absolutely loved the beginning of the book. I loved the flashbacks and memories made of the two characters however it started to fall apart for me towards the middle of the book for so many reasons.

The ending came out of absolutely nowhere, sometimes the book would skip scenes. There would be one scene and then suddenly another completely different scene. I felt like the whole idea of the book was awesome but it could have been executed so much better. The book felt rushed and it felt like a lot of details were left out. Towards the middle of the book it turned more about the sec rather then the connection the two characters shared and I felt like that was the part most lacking.

I was really excited for this book but for me it was a big letdown because it was such a good idea.

Although this is not a story normally in this author's wheelhouse of light, romantic and sexy, I was hooked on the premise and wanted to see how it would compare to his other books. I was not disappointed! I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This story follows Rhiannon, a mafia princess who grows up under the cruel and unyielding hand of her father, and Xavier, only son of a single mom who works as a housekeeper for the mafia Don's family. With only two years between them they become friends, with Xavier naturally taking on a protective role as well. He has plans to get Rhiannon away from her father some day once and for all, but that is not to be. A tragedy happens and Xavier is forced to leave Rhiannon. However, unbeknownst to her, he keeps tabs on her until one day he kidnaps her and then the fun really begins. Is the boy that Rhi knew all those years ago really gone? Hidden under the cold, calculating man he seems to be today? Can Xavier really deny what his heart wants in order to finish out the plan he put in motion?

This story had me gasping in outrage at times, laughing out loud at Rhiannon's sass in others, and fanning myself d/t the seriously HOT scenes that took place between the two. I loved this couple and was very happy with the way the book ended. This is a definite one-click for sure and I highly recommend it!!

I received an ARC from the author in exchange for my voluntary and very honest review.

Loved, loved, loved Taken. I can't say it's the best one of Logan Chance's work because I feel it would take away from the brilliance of his other novels. I will say, without a doubt, this is an EXCELLENT addition to his wonderful arsenal.

Logan gripped me from page 1 (Prologue). You know you're in for a dark ride and will not be able to put this book down until it's over. Xavier and Rhiannon grew up together. Xavier was the son of a maid who worked for Rhiannon's father who is the one connected and had dealings for and with the Mafia. Xavier knew Rhiannon was it for him but her dad did not want his daughter involved with the likes of him. Events transpire that made Xavier seek revenge against Rhiannon's dad.

Xavier is very alpha, smart, patient, and meticulously plans his worst enemy's take-down. Not only does he plan to take down Rhiannon's father he ultimately wants to make her his forever and protect her from her dad's ugly world. The drastic measures he takes to get what he wants is absolutely brilliant! Even Rhiannon does not know it all until the end. Rhiannon falls deeper in love with Xavier if that's even possible. The sex is mind-blowing!

Logan had to have dug deep into his wicked imagination to write such a dramatic and epic romance. He'll have you both rooting for Xavier and wanting a Xavier of your very own all at the same time. Rhiannon is one very lucky heroine!

Taken is a must read!

This book could have been great, but it wasn’t. I’m really just still trying to figure out what all the hype is about.

First off, there were some major editing and formatting issues. Many times sentences were broken up onto separate lines, and commas were not in the correct place or missing altogether. Could definitely use an editor (or a new one).

Secondly, it was rushed. I mean, really rushed. One minute they’re here; the next they’re there without much in between. I got whiplash just from reading and trying to figure out what was going on half the time. I reread paragraphs and chapters, thinking it was me and that I must have missed something. One chapter is only one sentence! And then there’s a time jump that made no sense whatsoever right after that. Just completely rushed and inconsistent!

Also, Rhi running away only to get captured in the next paragraph every freaking chapter got on my nerves. I mean, come on. Think of something else she can do besides run and get caught. It was really annoying.

Research was nonexistent. Point being — his mother’s death was ruled suicide, but yet he got insurance money for her death?? That just doesn’t happen. The author clearly did not research that...among other things.

It was a good story to some extent, but definitely could use some work. This read like a first draft, at best.

Taken by Logan chance is filled with secrets, deceit, corruption. It is a story that leaves readers trying to figure out what the hero is really up to and turning the pages until they find out.

Readers meet two different sides of Xavier. They fall in love with the kid and the teen who is mischievous and good. When he resurfaces later, he is much colder and stolid. The memories of him in his youth is enough to keep readers connected to his character, as well as the mystery that surrounds his character. Just like Rhiannon, readers want to know where he has been, what is behind his evolution, and what his plans for her are. Although his motivations are cloaked for most of the story, when all is revealed, readers will be more than happy with this hero.

Rhiannon is a heroine I struggle with. There are many attempts made for her to be strong, but she ultimately backs down a lot to her father, to Ian, and even Xavier. The moments when she attempts to take control or, even if it is done in secret, chases her dream are my favorite. Readers who love a strong heroine will connect to these moments, but will wish that we got more of them throughout the novel.

Logan Chance certainly starts the story off with a bang, immediately drawing readers into the story. He then takes the readers back to the past when Rhi and Xavier are children. By introducing readers to these characters when they are young, he establishes a friendship, one that exemplifies how they care for each other and love one another. It also establishes a pattern with Rhiannon's father interfering with her life. This pattern establishes the relationships that are continued throughout the story. When Xavier returns he is shrouded in mystery but has an air of authority that leaves readers wondering where he has been. The chemistry between them is intense, and the push and pull of captor and captive will have readers engaged with the story. The climax and falling action or the story shocked me, and I can honestly say that I didn't see it coming at all. It is shocking and yet very pleasing to see Xavier's plan play out successfully.

Taken by Logan Chance has been my first novel from this author. The story is written well, the hero delectable, and readers will find themselves intrigued by the Xavier and his plan for revenge.

Looking for a jaw dropping whirlwind of emotions filled story, then Taken is the one for you. Rhiannon is the daughter of a Mafia leader and has been friends with Xavier, the maids son for years until they’re not anymore. Not everything is what it appears to be and you will be on the edge the entire way through reading their story. couldn’t put this book down, the storyline flowed so smoothly and seamlessly that I was just consumed brought to be right there with them living day by day by their sides. I was hooked from the very beginning. Off the charts friends to lovers story that will leave you speechless. This is a MUST READ hands down right now story. This is my unbiased and voluntary review.

I’m all for mafia books. I intentionally look for them while scouring the store and iBooks. I’m addicted to the world where men are dangerous and kill to protect what’s theirs.

Taken is the story of Xavier and Rhiannon. Rhiannon is the daughter of a vicious and nasty mob boss that expects obe from everyone around him, including Xavier.

Xavier, the son of the maid has no trouble going against DeLaurio. DeLaurio’s plans to bring him to heel go sideways when he does the one thing to turn a rebillous kid into a monster from DeLaurio’s own nightmares.

This book while, having some funny parts was a quick read stopping at 85% on the Kindle app.

I like the quirky personally of Rhiannon as an adult. She grown up and regardless of what her father has in store for her, she isn’t willing to lie down and take it.

The story’s plot was hidden and you could see it coming a mile away. What I didn’t see was the number of people involved in turning DeLaurio’s life upside down.

I felt more could’ve been added to the story. There’s a huge part where Xavier is gone and suddenly he’s back.

We only see the story from Xavier and Rhiannon’s view. Though many of the supporting characters have their own background story, we only get enough to tie in to make the plot plausible.

If you have a few hours to spare, it’s a good read.

I do love how the author took input from his group on what to put into the story like the plot, names, genre, etc. That alone is worth an extra star to me!

Logan, I appreciate that gesture! It’s not often that readers get to help their author create a story!

”Taken” is available for free on Kindle Unlimited or for $2.99 on Kindle.

OH....MY....DID THAT REALLY JUST HAPPEN???? No, SERIOUSLY!?! Okay! So, I was reading this story and I was all like, okay, I can get into this little mafia-hot guy steals the girl, then seduces girl, then falls in love from the rival crime boss...WAIT...THAT'S NOT WHAT THIS IS? UH, flip the script much? WAY TO TEASE....Yeah, tease me...TEASE ME!!!! THANK GOD!!!!!!

Have you ever read a book that made you question everything? Like every other book that you read in the same "genre-type"? Yep. This is one of those! I was confused. I was angry. I was laughing. I was excited. I was EXCITED!! I was reading SO FAST I didn't think my kindle could keep up with my swiping finger! I spent the entire book crying, screaming, laughing, panting, pacing and panting. (Yes, I realize that was in there twice...it was intentional!) ;)

I love an adventure, I love a good story! I love more than anything a story where the author takes you on an adventure away from any other story you have been on before, or have imagined as of yet! And, I truly love the ones where you are so into the story where you ARE a part of the story! I love being that little voyeur watching and feeling and this story made me feel....feelings! I love it when an author makes me feel like I can't get enough so much so that I have to go out and read every single word they have written just to make sure I don't miss a thing! So, what's next? Have I missed anything? Can I get more? Is there more? PLEASE TELL ME THERE'S MORE!! I NEED IT!!

Wow, what a fabulous unputdownable read this is, it's got everything, heartbreak, suspence, betrayal and romance, it's well written and the chemistry between Rhi and Xavier is scorching, I didn't want it to end, but then I wanted to get to the end. Xavier always promised he would get Rhi away from her father, but then he left, without her, now he's back after 10 years and keeps his promise, only not in the way she ever expected, and all for vengeance.

I received a copy and voluntarily leave my own thoughts

Wow!!

Let me just say firstly I'm lucky as at 1 part I nearly through my iPad.

Your a prisoner in a castle by your own father.

Your told what to do, when to do it.

Your told who you can see and who you cant.

Your even told who your marrying.

The one boy you do love leaves.

Gone.

Your left with your evil father.

The mob boss.

The one that is pure evil.

The one who will destroy everyone and everything that gets in his way.

Your kidnapped.

Taken.

By the one man you thought you could trust.

The one you love.

Xavier.

Everything he does is for her,

For his mother,

He will seek her revenge no matter what the cost.

He will bring those responsible to justice.

But what happens when she bring him to his knees,

The one he has always loved.

Will Rhiannon and Xavier get there happy ever after?

I really loved this story I loved the little twists and turn and the fast pace of the story I was taken on the journey with the characters and went along there roller coaster of a ride.

The only downside is I would have loved more at the end. I wanted to read about there happy ever after!

Taken got my attention starting from the prologue and held it all the way to the end.
Mr. Chance did an outstanding job with the way he let the reader get to know the characters of Rhiannon and Xavier. I liked watching them grow up and seeing how their friendship blossomed and grew.
Rhiannon was such a strong, feisty young lady. Even with her upbringing and her hard father she was also sweet and innocent in a naive way and ahe had a great sense of humor.
Xavier was always Rhi’s protector and best friend. Until one day he just disappears.
Returning unexpectedly as a grown man. He’s not the light hearted happy go lucky young boy he used to be.
I loved both these characters.
Rhiannon is a ray of sunshine and a promise of rainbows.
Xavier even with his hardened heart still had me head over heels for him.
The story and plot of this book is so fan-freaking- tastic!!
It’s unique and original. Absolutely no way to guess how the story is going to go or in which direction it will take. The twists and turns along the way are outstanding.
The writing is brilliant!
The descriptions the author uses of what Xavier and especially Rhiannon’s feelings are touching and pulled at my heart. The analogies and the words to describe places and situations are stunning and perfect.
Taken is packed with drama, mystery, suspense, tender moments and sexiness.
It’s not lacking for anything.

This story is a departure from the light, breezy, humorous romance we have come to expect from Logan Chance. However, he captured and held my attention from page one to the stunning conclusion.
Rhiannon is a Mafia princess who grows up in the proverbial ivory tower under the all-seeing eyes of her cruel, cold, unfeeling father. Xavier is the only son of her family's housekeeper and lives with his mother on the grounds. She soon realizes that she is living in a gilded cage and dreams of a life of freedom. Xavier promises to help her achieve her dream. And although Rhi develops feelings for Xavier, he keeps things light and platonic. He breaks his promise by suddenly leaving after a terrible personal loss, leaving Rhi confused and alone.
Ten years pass and Rhiannon's father plans to use his daughter as a pawn to gain unlimited political power. She escapes her father's prison only to be locked into another by Xavier, who has grown into a cold, calculating, hard man, not unlike her father. His reappearance in her life is no accident.
I will admit that I disliked Xavier throughout most of the book until the motives behind his despicable actions were revealed. Revenge is a dish best served cold, but the heat generated between Rhi and Xav nearly set my Kindle on fire!
Logan continues to grow and develop as an author and took a "chance" on Taken. I hope he will continue to surprise his readers.

Wow what can I say about this absolute roller coaster ride of emotions. Xavier stole my heart and I’m pretty sure he isn’t going to be replaces anytime soon. Rhiannon is a spitfire and I love how sassy she was and how she literally couldn’t contain her feelings for Xavier. I’ve been reading Logan’s books from the start and each time they get better and better and this time he has truly outdone himself. The way this book twists and turns and keeps you on the edge of your seat makes this a must read!!!!

I was taken starting from the first page. Logan Chance has the skill of pulling you in and involving you with intricate plots and characters you come to care about. I never put the book down for once begun nothing in my day was more important than me finding out what happens next. When the climax of the story comes, it is a shocker, unexpected and thoroughly clever. It then settles down to a sweet ending where all the questions are answered. You will love this book by a truly masterful bard.

This was my first all-nighter read of 2018. Honestly, I didn't even get up and go to the bathroom.
I did however, flip my Kindle pages feverishly as I got wrapped up in the not-so-dark Mafia world of Xavier and Rhiannon.

A youthful friendship formed under the criminal, watchful eyes of Rhiannon's father leads to Xavier, the maid's son, becoming
Rhiannon's only trusted friend in life.

Their friendship and their secret desires of wanting each other are tested when her father decides she's going to marry someone in his Mafia ties and then commits a terrible crime against Xavier's family.

Xavier leaves Rhiannon and his past, but only to build his own secret empire and secretly watch her every move.

Revenge is the fuel that has sparked Xavier to build an empire and plot to kidnap Rhiannon to get back at her father.

What really sparks is the intense sexual chemistry between the two captive hearts that were once best friends.

Overall, I was "Taken" into this story from chapter one! It's not a hardcore Mafia storyline, but the creative twist and turns for the two main characters and the sexual pull had me cheering for them both till the end.

I've read a few of Logan Chance's books and I believe this was my favorite standalone thus far.

Basically, go one click this book, grab a bottle of bubbly and enjoy.... That's what I did!

Having never read Logan Chance and then reading the synopsis for Taken, I was really looking forward to this book. Overall, I liked the writing and the characters. The beginning of the book really grabbed my attention. I liked how we got to see snippets of the relationship between Xavier and Rhiannon as they grew up together throughout the years. It was clear that their worlds clearly revolved around each other even at such a young age. It was cute and I enjoyed those parts even if they weren’t always happy situations. Rhiannon definitely grew throughout this book. She found a backbone and stood up for herself even though she was in an impossible situation. That being said, I just wasn’t a huge fan of the end of the book. It's hard to explain but I didn't really feel like there was that big of a change between who Xavier was as a boy and this powerful man he was portrayed to be. He didn’t seem very different from the boy he was even with the dirty talk. I get that there is supposed to be this mystery behind Xavier and the plan he put in place but everything seemed to come together and end so easily. Yeah, there was a few twists but it seemed way to simple considering the complexity of Rhiannon’s family and situation. The ending just fell kind of flat for me.
