I really thought this might have more interactive stories or at least a question and answer part. The stories are short but sometimes I don't feel like they are even written for a child. They use actual Bible verses which is great but the stories afterward to coorelate with the Bible are sometimes lacking. Would not recommend for 4 year old as books says, maybe 6-7 year old?

Absolutely ADORABLE. I bought this as a Christmas gift for my daughter, who will be 6 in a couple months, as she wanted her own Bible. This is beautiful, high quality, easy to read. I love everything about it! I can't wait to see her face when she opens it!!

My 4 yr. old grandaughter loves her new Devotional Bible. The stories are understandable even to a 4 yr. old. The questions make her think and she always knows the right answer. I feel this book will help in shaping her into the kind of young woman God wants her to be.

My daughter adores this little bible which relates bible stories to "girl life" and using girl talk. The reason we purchased it from Amozon was because her original one (a gift) was damaged and she was torn up beyond belief over the loss. I is quite precious to her.

This particular order was a gift for my niece because we already own this book. My daughters (Ages 9 and 6) and I have recently finished our copy and enjoyed it so much we wanted to share it with their cousin. What little girl doesn't want to be a princess? This book was very appropriate for their ages and has furthered not only their knowledge of God but their relationship with Him also. I highly recommend this book!

Very upset upon receiving this Bible for one of my 2 grandkids. The other one I bought (3-d super hero bible was awesome) So now I have one disappointed granddaughter because hers isn't a Bible like her Memaws and sisters. Very cute book, some bible passages and tells you to go to certain passages in the bible for more on it, but it isn't a full Bible

God's Little Princess Devotional Bible features Scripture selections from the International Children's Bible (ICB).

Here are some of the other features of this book: "Down In My Heart", "Beauty Secrets", "Bible Princesses", "My Hero", "Take A Bow", "I Adore You!", "Princess Charming", "Worthy of Love", and "Royal Truths."

The "Take A Bow" features share a dramatized skit for mothers and daughters to perform together. "I Adore You!" focuses on songs, music, praising God. "Princess Charming" is all about manners and etiquette. "Bible Princesses" focuses on women from the Bible. "Down In My Heart" focuses on memory verses. Each feature serves a purpose. I suppose that is where the "devotional" part comes in.

If you've got a young girl in your life--daughter, granddaughter, niece--then she may enjoy this one. Especially if she loves pink. Especially if she loves dressing up. Especially if she's a girly-girl. But not all girls love these things. Some of these activities ("devotions") may be more appealing than others.

I am not such a big fan of this one. But that doesn't mean you won't be. I would have liked to see more Scripture, less devotion. More emphasis on sharing God's Word, less attention on the activities and extensions. It depends on the reader I suppose.

With beautiful pink-lined pages and sweet devotions, this Bible is perfect for toting along to church, dance class, or on a road trip. The pink ribbon bookmark can help your princess stay on her page. The devotions are meaningful and relevant to lives of elementary age girls (probably 3rd grade through 5th can best relate.) There are important life lessons brought up in these devotions, such as teacher appreciation and demonstrating gratitude. The only thing I didn’t like about the format was the tiny print. It’s probably just my old age but I had a hard time reading the text because it was so small! The final pages of the Bible are blank with general headings for personal prayer lists, special events, and other topics. God’s Little Princess Bible would make a wonderful gift! I received this from the publisher; opinions shared here are 100% mine.

I had the privilege of reviewing God's Little Princess Devotional Bible: Bible Storybook by Sheila Walsh. From the moment that I requested this book, I excitedly watched the mail for it to arrive.

The book has a beautiful "princess" cover with crown and jewels. Our daughter fell in love immediately and wanted to show everyone. I was so excited to sit down and read together.

Bible - The book contains approximately 80 Bible stories and correlating scriptures. The text is taking from the International Children's Bible. Simple to read and easy to understand. But, this book is not a Bible per se. Think of it more like an activity book of scripture, a short devo along with songs, plays, and activities to help reinforce the concept.

Devotional - For me, this word is a little deceiving. When I think of devotional, I imagined reading this book before bed with my daughter. This book would be better for morning Bible time or as a Mommy/Daughter activity time. A few props are suggested here and there that require a little prep work. There are several songs suggestions throughout that I would guess many will not know. This is disappointing as singing is a special time. It would have helped many if the Bible would have come with a CD so parents could familiarize themselves with the songs.

God's Little Princess - The title is right on here. This book drives the point home page after page that your little girl is God's precious child. She is beautiful and God loves her. Secondly, the book explains the difference between inner beauty that is eternal and external beauty that is fleeting.

The book is said to be recommended for girls age 4-7. I feel like the book would be better suited for ages 7-10. There are several "Take a Bow" sections in the book that are Bible plays written out to be acted by Mom and Daughter. These plays would be best if the daughter could read. The book also talks a lot about real beauty and mentions how a girl may feel some girls are prettier or smarter than they are. Hopefully preschool aged girls are not struggling with the "Hollywood" image of what is beautiful and smart.

Here is what I love about this book! - The Bible comes alive through the "Take a Bow" plays, activity times and devotions. Your little girl sees how God used godly women throughout the Bible to prepare the way for Jesus and further His Kingdom. I love how this book opens the door for a beautiful relationship between a Mommy and her daughter. Precious, precious times can come together when reading, acting, and singing the suggested things in this book.

What if my daughter is younger? Personally, this book is going to be put on the shelf for a while longer in our home. I want Sweet Pea to be a little older before we begin going through this together. But... that doesn't mean this book is not going to be used right now. During Bible time now, I am going to be using some of these skits to tell our Bible story. I can either give the kids little parts or simply read the lines using flannelgraph, stick people, or Lego people. After each skit are wonderful review questions. If you are struggling to do the weekly Bible stories on ABC Jesus Loves Me, you need to get this book! You will be amazed at how it will open your eyes to opportunities.

Overall, the Princess Bible is a wonderful tool to have in your home whether you use it as a guide, for Bible time, or for Mommy/Daughter dates.

This review took longer than I thought for great reason: I couldn't pry it away from my daughter long enough to take a hard look at this Bible for myself. I absolutely adore the God's Little Princess Devotional Bible by Sheila Walsh.

For one, what little girl doesn't want to associate with a princess theme? My nearly six years old absolutely lives with conviction that she is God's princess. This Bible just sealed the deal for her, right down to the little gem on the front cover crown.

As a parent, there is so much more to this Bible that I enjoy. There are special sections like: Down in My Heart that features Scripture Memory, Beauty Secrets that give quick beauty tips, Bible Princesses show girls and women of the Bible who made a difference, My Hero are Scripture promises from God. There also is Take a Bow where you can take a Bible story and transform it to role play or skit mode. I adore you is using creative ideas to worship and praise God, Princess Charming help God's princess learn manners. Worthy of Love lets God's Princess know that it's important to love the royal subjects in their life. Royal truths show Biblical values for every princess.

I found the layout very feminine and easy to read. It's not a book I have to "make" our daughter sit down and read with me. She wants me reading it, and often.

I will point out that my nearly six year old loves skits and she can't read yet, so she gets discouraged. We pitch in and work with her, which I believe is even better.
I don't think praise for a book can come any higher than that.

From Thomas Nelson:

What a colorful little book this is. With excerpts from the International Children's Bible this is a great tool for young girls (ages 4-7 approximately) to learn to grow in their relationship with Christ as well as into themselves and the princesses that they are. I was a little thrown at first reading the scripture realizing the parts that were missing, but that was before I knew that this was with excerpts and references to scripture and not a full Bible. The main points are there and other parts are left open that would encourage discussion of further depth into scripture at least in my opinion.

"Every girl is a princess, the daughter of a King... the greatest King who created and rules over everything!" The features through out this Bible are amazing and fun. There is a letter to princesses in the front as well as a letter to parents with a section that explains the features and how to enhance the learning experience. Features including how to keep scripture "down in my heart", learn "beauty secrets", know facts about "Bible Princesses", and more including manners of "Princess Charming"! I thoroughly enjoyed going through the pages of this Bible from author Sheila Walsh and I truly think that this will be a great asset to have once AppleBlossom is a bit older. *grin* Although the glitter, sparkles and rhinestones are already a big hit around here - fabulous cover.

Title: GOD'S LITTLE PRINCESS DEVOTIONAL BIBLE
Author: Sheila Walsh
Publisher: Thomas Nelson
2006
ISBN: 978-1-4003-0879-8
Genre: Inspirational/bible/devotional

GOD'S LITTLE PRINCESS DEVOTIONAL BIBLE is a really cute hardback Bible/devotional for girls ages 4 - 7. My seven-year-old has claimed my copy which I just got to review and is anxious for me to hurry up and review this so she can have her Bible back. There is even a tiara, with jewels on it decorating the front cover, and the word Bible is in sparkly pink letters.

Every little girl likes to pretend they are a princess, and if they are a Christian, they are a princess, the daughter of a King, the greatest King who created us and rules over everything.

GOD'S LITTLE PRINCESS DEVOTIONAL BIBLE has Bible stories, shared straight from the verses in the Bible, and then includes another page of thoughts for girls to consider, as well as memory verses for girls to memorize each day. The Bible also includes songs, special activities, quizzes, "beauty-tips" (for playing dress-up) and so much more.

There are also colorful pages, well done drawings, and designs which are guaranteed to keep your little princess' attention, and even help to draw her into the message. My seven-year-old absolutely adores this Bible Devotional. A great gift for your favorite little girl for any reason. #16.99 hardback. 337 pages.

God's Little Princess Devotional Bible: Bible StorybookThis devotional is a perfect companion for any little princess in the making. It is jam packed with jewels of truth and inspiration that will help your little girl become the princess God designed her to be. The devotional includes numerous articles on topics ranging from showing love to your family to having good manners. Your daughter will also learn the promises of God in scripture and biblical values like honesty, purity and faithfulness through the stories in the devotional.

My favorite part of the book is found in the 'Take a bow' section. In this section you are given instructions on how to make simple costumes and then you and your daughter can put on a 'play' about the bible story. There are even questions to ask your child at the end of the play to see how well she understood the material.

My daughter is only 3 and is already enjoying the stories and activities throughout this devotional. The articles are short enough to keep her attention and the pages are illustrated in a way that any princess would love. Also, as a mom reading this to my daughter, I've enjoyed the variety and simplicity of the lessons taught throughout the pages. This little devotional would be a great gift for any young princess in the making.

Sincerely,

Paige

God's Little Princess Devotional Bible is a fun, easy to understand book full of Bible stories and related activities (plays, songs, lessons about what the Bible verses teach). The lessons are good ones with an obvious or underlying God/Christ focus. The plays are Bible-verse based and look simple enough to put on. The worship songs are good ones, but only the words are included.

A good amount of Bible scripture from both the Old and New Testament (International Children's Bible translation) is included. The translation is generally a very good one for children, though younger children might have some questions about what's meant. (The book is labelled as for 4-7 year-olds, but I suspect it's more accurately for 5-9 year-olds.)

Occassionally, the full Bible story was not quoted when more of the story was needed to understand what's going on. In those cases, the reader's told where to go in the Bible to read the whole story. Unless a parent does this for the child, though, I'm not sure they would bother. I would have liked it if more of the story was included in those cases.

I'd recommend this book to any parent who wants their (younger) girls actively engaged in learning Bible stories and/or learning to become God's Little Princess (with godly manners to match).

What little girl doesn't love being a princess? If your child enjoys the stories of Cinderella and Snow White, this is the devotional for her. Written with ages 4-7 in mind Shelia Walsh brings Bible stories to life -- highlighting women of faith, virtue and character from the Bible and letting girls know that their worth is not in how they look on the outside, but who they are on the inside.

But there's more than just Bible stories retold in ways that a child can understand. Shelia weaves in activities, songs, tiny skits and ethical lessons as the book progresses. Since kids learn best through using all of their senses, this is a huge plus for this book. I've read other devotionals aimed for kids and (to be honest) they were pretty bland. Especially for kids who grow up in a Christian home and know all of the stories by heart, but not so with Shelia's delightful book.

My favorite part is the design. From the front cover (which features sparkly jewels for the tiara and glitter for the small heart and the word Bible) to the inside where each page is gorgeous decorated and colored with cute graphics and girl-friendly colors. This makes the book playful and fun to read.

The stories will take you through the entire Bible, highlighting truths that every princess of God needs to know - like we're supposed to reach out and befriend those who are lonely and hurting or that polite princesses ask for things, not demand things. Or this one from page 192 (which is a particular favorite of mine):

Did you know that God wants us to be beautiful, too? He's the One who put the desire in our hearts. But real beauty isn't something we put on the outside of our bodies. We are most beautiful when our hearts are obedient to God. His love shines through us in our words and acions. Beautiful hearts never fade with age.

This is a great book for mothers and daughters, which is a great thing about it. I was a bit disappointed that the skits didn't say Mom or Dad - since some children only have one parent, or the father is the parent at home.

Of course, I was excited to see the woman I was named after (Tabitha) also mentioned. Tabitha was a woman who made clothes for the widows and orphans, and my parents (before I was even conceived) wanted me to be named after her because she cared so much for others. So I was delighted that the lesson along with Tabitha's story was much the same - caring for others and thinking about them first.

All in all, a book I would highly recommend for Christian parents, Sunday School teachers or someone who knows a family who would enjoy this delightful book. For those curious the scripture selections are out of the International Children's Bible, so if your princess has that it might be fun to have her look up the story in her Bible as you both read along!

I can't wait to share this book with my nieces, who already are amazing princesses.

God's Little Princess Devotional Bible by Sheila Walsh and published by Thomas Nelson Publishers is a great devotional Bible geared specifically towards girls and their mothers. The scripture selections are from the International Children's Bible and are very easy for young readers (and adults!) to understand.

I really love how this Bible has numerous features that help children to apply scripture and God's teachings to everyday events in their lives. This Bible teaches girls that they are God's princesses and then continues to teach morals/values to the girls that help them to be the best princess they can be. One highlight of this Bible are the sections that have the mother and daughter act out scenes from the Bible and then has questions that review what happened in the scene. What a great way to make sure the child is comprehending what she's reading and to really make sure that God's message gets across to her.

There are many features within this Bible that are great for young girls in today's society. This Bible has sections called "Beauty Secrets" and "Princess Charming" that teach girls, through examples, about inner beauty as well as teaching them about manners and respect for others.

This Bible is very durable and uses a large font which makes it easily readable. I highly recommend this book to any mother of girls from ages 3+.

This is a devotional bible for children set out as a series of devotions suited to young children using scripture selections from the International Children's Bible.

It is a very pretty bible. The cover and interior presentation would certainly appeal to a broad selection of young girls with information presented in an easy to read and interesting manner.

For the purposes of being exact I would make mention of the use of the word "kid" when referring to children and the failure to use capital letters for Him/ He when making reference to God.

These "faults" would not prevent me from purchasing this bible. It is a fun bible to "do" bible studies with a young daughter. It also raises pertinent issues, relevant to young girls.

It has a devotion/ passage (which, I would suggest, is very simplified) and then it has an activity that correlates to the passage. It could be a song, a beauty tip (with emphasis on the inside person), verses to memorise, dramatic play plus others.

It is a lovely hard bound bible with glossy colourful pages. The typeface is big and bold and easy to read.

I would recommend this bible to families with young daughters between 3-7 years. It is not a perfect bible, or a replacement but it would be a lovely, sweet, fun way to spend time with a daughter.

If that is not your parenting style you won't like this bible.

Not perfect. Sweetly user friendly .

"God's Little Princess Devotional Bible" by Sheila Walsh was a very cute book. It contains 337 pages of short devotionals. The stories range anywhere from "Why Worry?" to "Love from Above." With all the hype of princess stories like "Cinderella" that have a very unrealistic take on life, this book puts being a "princess" into a different perspective. It talks about being the "daughter of a King," having God as our hero and what that means. My favorite feature of the book is the role playing and dress up ideas it gives. My daughter is a little young still for this section, but I can't wait to put on biblical "plays" with her. There did not seem to be enough illustrations in the book. It says the age range is 4-7 but I think 4 might be a little young for this book. Also, I kept wanting to see more pictures to go with the stories, but that could also be because I have a 3 year old who mostly looks at the pictures and is just learning how to read. Overall this was an excellent book that I would recommend for an early school age girl.

I bought two of these for my granddaughters. They LOVED it, at first they loved that the jewels on the crown are "real" and there ARE literally jewels. This is a hard cover Devotional Bible just like the ones for boys and worth every penny. Lots of great tie ins on how to live according to the stories they read. These are the first Bibles for my grandchildren. I am extremely happy with this purchase.

Did you know God's Little Princess wears Tiarra's and looks a lot like the Little Girl In Your Life?

I did!

I adore this book and plan on giving it to the little girls in my life; my daughter, my niece, my Goddaughter, and three of my honorary nieces (best friends kids).

My daughter is 4 and we have read a few pages of this book so far and loves it. What's not to love really?

I believe this would make a great communion gift and plan on giving it to two girls who received their communion this year.

The book cover is sweet and feminine! I love the little tips on handling every day situations in child friendly ways while entwining scripture and a What Would Jesus Do mentality.

There were parts of the book that reminded me of my youth and put a smile on my face. Things I had forgotten like some of the Sunday school songs I sang.

I have been reading God's LIttle Princess Devotional Bible by Sheila
Walsh. I would say this is a book written for girls ages 7-10. Its
features include Songs, Beauty Secrets (quick tips on how to be
"beautiful"), Stories of girls and women on the bible who made a
difference,Role-playing and Plays, Articles that teach manners, poise and
charm, Ways to extend the lessons to family and friends and Values from
the Bible that "every princess should posess."

After reading through this book I found the plays to be easy to do with
little props required. The book contains simple colorful graphics . It aso
has simple activities for girls at the end of every lesson to extend and
reinforce the main idea of the lesson. I was disappointed that the Songs
listed contained the lyrics but no notes/music. So I'm not sure how girls
are supposed to do much with the songs if they aren't familiar ones.

Then I gave the book to my daughter to read to my granddaughters. They are
ages 4 and 6. The girls really liked it, especially the acting out parts.
Their mom however was not so fond of it. They read before bed and it took
WAY too long to get through one section/story at bedtime. Agewise, she
thought it was more appropriate for the 6 year-old and older girls. The older one
could answer some of the reflective questions at the end. The four-year old
didn't seem to get those quite yet.

I would recommend the book for girls ages 7-10. They would be able to read
the book on their own and then with help from an adult could put on the
plays, discuss the reflective questions and do the activities at the end
of each lesson.

God's Little Princess Devotional Bible by Sheila Walsh

This sweet book teaches young girls about the inner beauty and character qualities that make a true princess. They relate to young girls their position as the daughter of the King. When my daughter saw this book, she immediately wanted to begin reading it. We read about half of it together, and she finished it on her own. The pages are colorful. The font is larger for young readers. The stories are short enough so as not to lose the attention of little ones, and they're engaging enough for `older' little ones. The book is filled with Bible stories and stories that build character applying Biblical truths. I highly recommend this book for your little princess.

I received this book free from the publisher in return for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

I am impressed with this little pink sparkly devotional Bible! My [...] year old daughter loves Gigi: God's Little Princess DVDs and this Bible will delight her! We already own the God's Mighty Warrior Devotional Bible and our 5 year old son enjoys it very much. God's Little Princess Devotional Bible didn't disappoint us, either.

Not only does this hardbound devotional Bible include stories from the Bible in the International Children's Bible translation, but it also has many other features.

* Down In My Heart promotes Scripture memory
* Beauty Secrets teach our daughters about inner beauty
* Bible Princesses shares about women of the Bible who made a difference by following God
* My Hero shares Scripture promises from God to us
* Take A Bow includes short plays that our daughters can act out as they retell Bible stories
* I Adore You! gives ideas for helping our daughters learn to worship and praise the Lord
* Princess Charming teaches manners and graciousness
* Worthy of Love encourages our daughters to show love to others
* Royal Truths focuses on character traits and values that God desires in us

As I read through this devotional Bible, I kept thinking that these were lessons all my daughters needed to hear. We all need reminders to love God, love those around us, and that our value comes from God's love for us. These are lessons I want my daughters to learn well before they leave our home. Teaching it early is important.

Although God's Little Princess Devotional Bible is written for girls ages 4 through 7, I believe that it would encourage older girls (and even boys) as well. It would make an excellent family devotional if you have daughters ranging from age [...] through [...]. Older sisters will absorb truth while helping their younger sisters learn about being God's Little Princess. Perhaps you could alternate with the God's Mighty Warrior Devotional Bible, if you also have boys.

This devotional Bible has short lessons, colorful pictures, and a sparkly pink cover any girl would love! Most importantly, it has solid teaching for our daughters on what it means to be a child of the King. What better gift than one that teaches Biblical Truth, and sparkles while doing so?

God's Little Princess Devotional Bible by Sheila Walsh
When I opened the small package I was amazed at how pretty this small pink Bible is. My granddaughters (ages 2 & 4) were dazzled by the pretty cover with the crown and textured lettering. I was happy to see that it was more than a Bible Story Book, but also a handbook for parents to guide their small child into the truths of the Bible. Within the pages are plays for the little ones to perform, object lessons to drive home certain concepts of the stories, songs, and worship. Thomas Nelson Publishers really outdid themselves with this book. It is truly a tool for parents who wish to write on the "tablets of the heart" of their little girl. I would recommend this Devotional Bible for any child.

God's Little Princess Devotional Bible is a beautiful and enchanting little book written by Sheila Walsh (of Women of Grace fame) to make God accessible to little girls ages 4-7. Each devotional has a small reading from the International Children's Bible and then pulls a virtue from the story and includes wonderful activities to bring the point home. It includes little plays, songs, memory verses, beauty tips, and many other fun activities and questions.

I requested this book for one big reason. I hate the whole princesses thing. The minute I got pregnant, before I gave birth, I was adamant that if it was a girl princess junk was NOT entering my home. I rather liked the idea of taking the whole entitlement princess movement of our secular culture and turning it to my advantage. This books is even better than I had hoped!

It is a quality book with a hard cover complete with "jewels" set into the cover and appealing patterns, writing and pictures on thick white paper. This is no ordinary book. It is special and will make the recipient feel it every time she uses it; especially fitting for the word of the King. My daughter is only 1-1/2 years but I've been struggling with how to mold her into a lady of worth. This book has all the tools to teach a young girl how to become a lady of character, certainly the daughter of the King. I cannot wait to start reading this with my daughter next year. I recommend it to everyone. Even I learned a few things reading it!

My daughter and I had the opportunity to review God's Little Princess Devotional Bible by Sheila Walsh as members of the Thomas Nelson's Book Review Blogger program. [...]

This sturdy little children's book is just as sweet as can be! From the jewel encrusted tiara on the cover to the charming illustrations it's a book your daughter will WANT to read! Although the book is geared toward 4-7 year-old girls, my 8 year old daughter thoroughly enjoyed it. The layout held my daughter's interest because the different sections are mixed together instead of rigidly laid out into certain chapters. This devotional is packed full of activities, mini skits, stories, prayers, songs, verses, and so much more.

I really enjoyed all of the references to manners and politeness as well as how much the book stresses that God is always there to listen to you. I was raised knowing that I could pray to God at anytime, anywhere and about anything. This book enforces that belief and I am so happy that it does!

I think that the author has done a wonderful job translating the Bible stories and verses into meaningful and though provoking activities and themes. There are many stories about women of the Bible which is a nice change of pace from many other books that focus on only the men. This is certainly a book that your girl can enjoy both with you and on her own. It would also make an adorable gift or shower present!

I look forward to enjoying this book with my daughter for quite some time!

The cover of this devotional Bible has a plastic jeweled tiara on the front and it really drew my 4 year old (4 yrs, 11 months) niece in. The God's Little Princess Devotional Bible is written by Sheila Walsh and published by Thomas Nelson.

It starts with the encouraging statement "Every girl is a princess, the daughter of a King... the greatest King who created and rules over everything." Also, the pages at the beginning make it easy to personalize with the name of the giver, receiver and date. My niece had me change the occasion field to be for the names of her pets who witnessed the presentation of the gift.

The Scriptures are taken from the International Children's Bible. The devotions give the Bible references and teach about a person or principle in the Bible.

Along with the Scripture, are features such as scripture memory, tips on being beautiful on the inside, skits, songs to sing, teaching manners and values. The illustrations next to the features are adorable and remind me of those in the book "Fancy Nancy".

Each story and the related pages are color-coded which makes it really easy to find the beginning of the story. My niece referred to the stories by their colors.

Unfortunately, even edited snippets of a children's Bible is difficult for a mature 4 year old to understand. I wish that each story had a question and answer part. I think this book would be better suited for a 6-7 year old.

All in all, it is good Bible for a little girl 6-7 years old. [...].

Thomas Nelson provided me with a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Every little girl needs a hero that will always be there and never let her down...that hero is God. In a world that clings to "fairytales" and "false expectations" of life, every little girl needs to be grounded in Truth and "God's Little Princess Devotional Bible" is the book that will do just that! Sheila Walsh did an AMAZING job of putting together a wonderful devotional that every little girl will love. The cover is "fit for a princess" and the contents are incredible when it comes to leading young girls into their God given purpose...to be His princess.

The feature that you'll admire are: "Down in My Heart" which promotes Scripture memory, "Beauty Secrets" which gives quick tips on being beautiful on the inside as well as outside!, "Bible Princesses" which points out women of the Bible who made a difference, "My Hero" which tells of the promises God has made, "Take a Bow" which promotes dress up and acting out Bible focused plays, "I Adore You" which promotes singing songs of worship, "Princess Charming" which teaches manners, poise, and charm, "Worthy Love" which shows ways to express love to others, and "Royal Truths" which lay out the basic Biblical values that every princess should possess.

I can assure you my two nieces will be receiving this devotional Bible and I would HIGHLY recommend it for your little girls or as a gift for ANY little girl...they all need God and this book will lead them to Him.

"God's Little Princess Devotional Bible: Bible Storybook", by Sheila Walsh, is a wonderful Bible for young girls. The cover of the book has a crown with diamond-like jewels on it. There is an "Introduction For Parents" in the front of the book. This introduction explains that easy-to-read Scripture selections from the International Children's Bible are combined with songs, plays, beauty secrets, activities and stories.

This Bible Storybook starts with the story of Adam and Eve. It progresses through the Old Testament and New Testament and highlights stories that will be meaningful to children. The stories are written in large-print and are easy and fun to read. The pages are colorful and decorated with patterns and designs. I really like the activities at the end of the Bible stories. These activities will help the readers apply the Biblical principles to their lives.

This book would make a good read-aloud for mother-daughter sharing time. There are many activities that include mothers and daughters. Mothers should be available to answer questions and help young girls understand what they are reading in this Bible.

This Bible is designed for ages 4 to 7. I think it would be very well suited for girls up to the age of 10-years-old. This Bible Storybook will make your daughter feel proud of owning her very own Bible. This is a book that she can read, learn and share with friends and family members.

Sheila Walsh's, God's Little Princess Devotional Bible, is for young girls who are beginning readers, or for parents to read to their daughters, and will get them started in the wonderful habit of daily devotions.

This devotional Bible has delightful drawings as well as short Bible stories written in an easily understandable format as well as modern day illustrations to help the young girl make good decisions about everyday problems she might face.

This would make a great gift for any young girl, from the ages of four to eight and perhaps a bit older depending upon her maturity level.

My copy is going to a six-year-old great-granddaughter who is just beginning to read.

Devotional Bibles do not usually impress me. Too often Christians spend more time reading about the Bible than actually reading it. I am as guilty of this as anyone and so I usually pay little attention to devotional Bibles. I didn't really expect "God's Little Princess Devotional Bible" to be much different, but, having a 7 year old princess of my own, I felt compelled to check it out.

The book design is adorable; my daughter's eyes lit up as soon as she started looking through it. It paraphrases stories from the Bible; providing devotional thoughts about each story. The stories tend to focus on women in the Bible who had to be brave, honest or full of faith.

Sprinkled between the stories and devotional thoughts are songs to sing and activities. Some stories have been turned into plays that can be acted out providing plenty of opportunity for dramatic expression by the little princess. Currently, my princess and I have only gotten about one-fifth of the way through it, but I can tell already that we're going to have a lot of fun along the way.

It was my daughter's reaction that won me over to the book, though. On our third night I fell asleep early, the result of a tiring day. After dozing for about 30 minutes I was awakened to the sound of my princess' voice. "Daddy, don't forget we need to do our Bible reading!" I was more than happy to oblige!

We have two little princesses in our home that were squealing with excitement when this book showed up on our doorstep. In fact, it was whisked away and all I heard for the next hour were both girls giggling and reading to each other from their new devotional Bible.

God's Little Princess Devotional Bible by Sheila Walsh uses Scripture from the International Children's Bible along with stories and some great extras to teach young girls about TRUE beauty, love, sharing, truth and what a princess of God really is.

Features include:

Down in My Heart ~ promoting Scripture memory
Beauty Secrets ~ quick tips on true beauty
Bible Princesses ~ women of the Bible
My Hero ~ promises of God
Take a Bow ~ Bible-focused plays
I Adore You ~ worshipping and praising God
Prince Charming ~ articles on manners and more
Worthy of Love ~ showing love to everyone
Royal Truths ~ Biblical values for princesses

McKenna {age 7} has been the one specifically enjoying this devotional. The reading level is simple enough for her to read independently and the princess theme has captured her attention on so many different levels.

"God's Little Princess Devotional Bible" written by Sheila Walsh and illustrated by Meredith Johnson helps make it a little easier.

This Devotional Bible has it all for the up-and-coming princess in your life. Scriptures and memory verses are from the International Children's Bible making it easier for your princess to understand God's words. This unique book has many extras: songs, beauty tips to make their insides as beautiful as their outsides. There are role models for them to look up to such as Esther, Ruth and many more. Scripture promises have been included that show our children how to make Jesus their hero. Some stories have easy plays for princess and mother. There are manner, poise and charm lessons. There is a feature that shows your princess ways to love everyone in their family, and community.
Finally there are the Royal Truths: basic values that every princess should possess. I was reminded as a mother and grandmother that these same lessons apply to me as well as my daughter and grand-daughters. Remember once a princess always a princess. This book is for ages 4 - 7 but I believe girls 8 - 10 would enjoy it just as much.

I attended a Women of Faith conference this past fall where I personally heard Sheila speak. At that conference I bought my first "God's Little Princess" book "Sweet Dreams Princess". When I had the opportunity to review "God's Little Princess Devotional Bible" from Thomas Nelson Publishers, I jumped at the chance!

While my oldest daughter just turned 5, we take some time every evening to read a few pages and talk about what it means to be God's Little Princess. This book has quickly been claimed by my daughter as her own and takes it with her everywhere. I know the day will come when I need to get a second one for my younger daughter.

What I loved most about this book was that it's easy to read and understand. There are also separate sections to reinforce the lessons such as:

Beauty Secrets - Quick tips on how to be "beautiful" - on the inside and out
Bible Princesses - Girls and women of the Bible who made a difference (these sections were my favorite!)
Princess Charming - Helps teach manners, poise and charm

This book is an excellent tool to teach our daughters to be the young ladies that God intends them to be. There is so much lacking in our society today and it's nice to see a resource to help us to encourage our daughters to be Godly women.

Girls long to be loved and adored, and give their heart to their hero. God is that hero! The characteristics focused on in this Bible storybook will help your little girl blossom into the princess she was created to be. Virtues to create beauty such as compassion, sharing, and truth are highlighted in fun and engaging ways. The perfect format for girls to learn about their destiny as a daughter of their King.

With having a five year old daughter who loves princesses, this was a perfect fit. A nightly ritual. She reminds me when I forget. It took a few nights to realize that each section is color coded. At times the Bible stories begin in the middle of the story, so that's a bit confusing for her, but we are able to discuss what the story is about. I do like the follow up pages to the story which includes questions that she can easily relate to and at times there are little skits to act out to bring home the point that she is a true princess of the King. Also, I like how the point is emphasized a lot that you don't have to be beautiful on the outside to be loved which.

This book is a great springboard tool to open up discussions about inner beauty, life and God. I'd recommend it. :)

This is an attractively bound book that would catch the eye of any little girl aged four to seven, and even beyond. It includes variety in activities, colorful pages, artful illustrations, and an interesting mix of biblical passages.

Reading as an adult, I had to keep reminding myself that it is written for young children, and should not be expected to have the depth of story-telling or teaching that an older child or teen-aged reader would enjoy. Some of the biblical stories have gaps that the person reading with the child may need to fill, and there are stories that seem just to float, without connection with the passages before or after.

One area that mildly concerned me was that the activities are written for a girl and mother. While I recognize that a princess is patterning her life after the queen, or older princess, of the household, I would have liked to see more activities which would include the king, or prince (human father), or even a sibling.

The strength of the book is in the prayer suggestions that constantly remind the child of God's accessibility; and the passages from Psalms, Proverbs, and Ecclesiastes are excellently written. As a supplement to her own copy of the Bible, this book is a useful addition to a little girl's library.

Learning to read is an important milestone. To celebrate this milestone with my daughter I decided to get her a Bible/Bible storybook of some kind that she could read on her own.

As I started shopping I realized that an actual Bible seemed a little advanced for her (maybe a year from now we will make that purchase), and none of the bible story books I was looking at seemed any different from what we already had. I was beginning to give up on my "idea" when I discovered Sheila Walsh's God's Little Princess Devotional Bible.

As I started reading through this Devotional Bible I got excited. It was perfect. Each devotional starts out with a page of actual scripture followed by an age-appropriate devotional. So many of the topics hit on lessons and character traits I want my daughter to pick up like serving others, compassion, true beauty and forgiveness.

I read through this book before I gave it to my daughter. As I was finishing up she came in and wanted me to read part of it to her. Every day since she has asked to read from the "princess" book. I think that means it's a hit!

I would highly recommend God's Little Princess Devotional Bible. I am looking forward to reading it with my daughter as well as watching her discover the Bible's truths as she reads it on her own.

I recently had the opportunity to review God's Little Princess Devotional Bible by Sheila Walsh. This devotional Bible is for little girls only and is appropriate for ages 4-7. It includes direct Scripture from the International Children's Bible and little devotional sections like:

*"Beauty Secrets,"
*"Down in my heart"
*"Take A Bow"
*"I Adore You" and more
Before I received the book I was skeptical of the "princess theme;" I was afraid it would be overdone to the point of sickening. I was quite wrong. The book beautifully highlighted the value of who my daughter is in the eyes of her King. Each section began with 2 pages of straight Scripture. It was followed by a devotion which did a wonderful job applying the truths of Scripture in an age appropriate manner. My daughter and I especially enjoyed the "Taking a Bow" section where we were able to act out the Bible story. I highly recommend this Devotional Bible. The only draw back has been the fact that my 4 year old wants to read it all by herself and she can't read yet.

I received this book free from Thomas Nelson Publishers as part of their [...] review bloggers program. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. Even though I think some "Christian princess" products for little girls are missing the mark, I like this little devotional Bible. It contains about 80 Bible stories, with devotional material designed for ages 4-7. The material is designed for a mom to either read to her daughter and sometimes for them to perform an activity together.

The issue I have with some "princess" products is that I think the world could use fewer "princesses" and more little girls who are learning to grow in the fruit of the Spirit. The devotionals in this book, while often referring to things little girls like to do (play dress-up, feel special, etc), it does do an excellent job of always focusing on what Godly princesses do--which is love and value others.

It took me awhile to understand the flow of the book. It would have helped if each devotional was titled on its first (Bible story) page. The devotionals ran together until I got used to the layout.

It' a cute little glittery hardback with real glass stones on the cover. The real gems are inside.

Thanks to Thomas Nelson Publishers for allowing me to review this book. I am a member of their book review blogger program.

My daughter's face lit up with excitement the moment she saw the cover of Sheila Walsh's God's Little Princess Devotional Bible. The sparkling cover complete with twinkling "jewels" is pretty enough to catch any girl's eye.

Inside you will find Bible lessons, songs, activities, and real-life applications written especially fro your four to seven year old daughter. There are even beauty tips such as "Think of some ways your mom shows you her beautiful heart...ask God to work in your heart to make you beautiful on the inside, too." (p. 193) There are also skits hidden between the pages. The Bible also highlights God's princesses such as Sarai, Mary, Elizabeth, Ester, and Ruth.

I'm not exactly sure who enjoyed reading this more, me or my daughter. The colorful borders kept her attention and the illustrations were kid-friendly and pertinent to the adjoining lessons.

While this book was tremendously enjoyable for my daughter who is four, I think it is tailored more towards the six to nine age range.

"Every girl is a princess, the daughter of a King...the greatest King who created and rules over everything!" Touching the hearts of girls of all ages, God's Little Princess Devotional Bible is wonderful. Author Sheila Walsh does an extraordinary job at organizing various Bible excerpts from the International Children's Bible* into a book that captivates the girlie life. Between Bible passages are related activities and articles which I really liked: beauty secrets emphasizing inner beauty qualities, females from the Bible who made a difference, ideas on how to love others (royal subjects), ways to worship and praise God, highlighted Biblical truths, promises, and verses to memorize. I especially loved the dress up and role playing activities that brought the Bible passages to life. Being a former teacher, I noticed that this book had something for every learning style. That way my two completely different girls could use and love this book. The message of inner beauty, pursuit of godliness, and unconditional love shines through. I highly recommend this book for girls around ages 4-7.

*The International Children's Bible which was used in this book was an enjoyable and trustworthy translation for kids. It was very easy to understand yet not watering down the meaning of Biblical passages. I may check out other Bibles for my kids with this translation, I was that pleased with it.

Sheila Walsh, one of the primary speakers for Women of Faith, has given us a delightful book for little princesses ages 4-7. This full-color 352-page, hardcover book does it all for little girls. It helps them memorize scriptures, gives them beauty secrets, teaches them about Bible heroes and princesses, provides fun role-playing and dress-up activities, channels their natural energy into singing and dancing, and much more.

Based on favorite Bible stories and characters from the long-time best-selling International Children's Bible, little girls and their moms and sisters will love this kid-perfect, interactive devotional that teaches girls that God is their true hero. Lessons focus on honor, charity, compassion, sharing, truth, fairness and many others.

While some words choices will challenge the four-year-olds, with Mom's and old sister's help, they will have a blast with the activities, stories, and Bible-based lessons they will learn.

A perfect companion for little girls. A great gift!

Available for $16.99 (Thomas Nelson: Nashville, TN, 2009) from your favorite Christian bookstore.

I am writing this review for Thomas Nelson' Book Review Bloggers. Having just added a little princess to our family, my book choice this time was the "God's Little Princess Devotional Bible" by Sheila Walsh. The princess was in love with this book from the second it arrived (probably has something to do with the crown and jewels on the cover), and I love it, too. This book is worth every penny of the $16.99 MSRP and an especially great value at the store's low price.

Small princesses (probably mostly the 6-10 year old kind) will love the Beauty Secrets (think inner beauty), Bible Princesses, My Hero (Scripture promises), Take a Bow (easy scripts and props to act out the story with Mom), I Adore You (songs, scripture and worship activities), Royal Truths, Down In My Heart (Scripture Memory), Princess Charming, and Worthy of Love (ideas to show how a princess should love her "royal subjects": family, siblings, friends and those in the community) articles written alongside the Bible stories.

Moms of little princesses will love how this book helps them to understand Scripture and internalize the true secrets to being beautiful inside and out. And, I personally love how the Take a Bow section is written to include Mom in the fun and learning.

Our little princess needs to learn a little more English before we can take full advantage of this book together, but I can't wait 'til she can! I highly recommend this book to parents of young princesses everywhere!

The moment my little princess was born, a million dreams were born with her. Each dream a balloon... some which will sadly never fully be inflated, some which will burst on their way up, and some which will gloriously reach the clouds.

My daughter is now five and I find myself trying as hard as I can to create the right environment so that as many of her dreams as possible can take flight. Sheila Walsh's "God's Little Princess Devotional Bible" has not only created some significant conversations with my daughter about her dreams, but also proved to be a wonderful tool to cultivate an environment where her dreams can take off.

The practical and fun features offer guidance, encouragement and truth as Christ is begins to form himself in the heart of my `dreamer'. These features stimulate conversation between us as she seeks to pursue the right dreams that God has for her, while steering her away from the false dreams that she is bombarded with at school and through the secular media. As we have pursued the questions together, completed the challenges, and acted out the drama's we have shared some tender moments together.

As I reflect on the times we have spent together reading this bible, and as I look forward to the times we will continue to do so, I realize that the dreams we can achieve are dependent on the identity that is shaped within us. I am so grateful for how God is using this devotional bible not just to let my daughter know that she is my princess, but that she is a princess of the King - who will empower all her dreams far beyond what I ever could.
I would highly recommend this devotional bible to any Dad who wants to play his part in developing a God given identity in their little princess.

God's Little Princess Devotional Bible is a Bible story book, with princess-themed extra material. This book uses the International Children's Bible (ICB) version for its Scripture passages. This does not contain the entire Bible, just parts of it. It has princess plays, activities, songs, and more. The target age group is young girls around ages 4-8.

I liked this book, because little girls are special. People today don't treat young girls like they should, and as a result, we end up with depressed teenagers. This book aims to correct that, by offering many things to encourage and strengthen young girls. It shows that Jesus loves them.

If you have a little girl, or know a special little girl, this book is one for them that you don't have to worry about.

Like most children's Bibles, this book paraphrases selected stories starting in Genesis and ending in the New Testament (in this case, 1 John). Unlike most kids' Bibles, a fun application activity or devotional follows each story. These application portions vary greatly, from skits to scenarios to beauty tips (that always focus on becoming beautiful inside and out). Clipart and illustrations of Walsh's Little Princess character decorate the pages throughout.

I like the variety of activities in this Bible, which allows me to pick and choose what I want to do with my daughter. The skits, for example, are fairly useless for early and pre-readers, and some of the suggested activities - like having your child polish your silver - are laughable. Yet there are enough excellent ideas to make me excited about reading this with E. The writing is appropriate for young girls and avoids speaking down to them while encouraging them to love God unashamedly and follow Him without fear... exactly what God's word should do for us all.

I received a complimentary copy of this book as a part of Thomas Nelson's Book Sneeze program. My opinion is my own; I was not required to give a favorable review.

God's Little Princess Devotional Bible by Sheila Walsh is a great devotional Bible for any family with little girls. I am going to be using this for Bible time during school this year and my little girl just can't wait. As soon as she saw the sparkly cover on it, she was ready to dig in. It is a great tool for teaching your daughters that they are really princesses. They are daughters of the King of Kings.

This devotional Bible is full of ways to teach your daughter how to become, and act like, a true princess. There are plays for the mother and daughter to act out with questions to review as well as songs to teach your daughters. Manners are important to princesses and this book teaches your young princess manners and also introduces them to important princesses, or women, throughout the Bible. Through and through this is just a great devotional.
