Michael Scott does an excellent job with continuing this saga. As in previous books, it is non-stop stress / action as Flamel struggles to keep the twins alive and safe. Sacrifices are made. Additionally, Perenelle finally turns the tables. But there are loses some of which may be difficult to recover.

Very descriptive and intense I couldn't stop reading. One of the best series I'm reading. I definitely recommend this to readers looking for book to read but read series In order. This book is definitely for people who like mythology books.

Thingy, watusi, hornswoggle...my children learned these words well.

As I read aloud from the third book in Michael Scott's Nicholas Flamel series, certain words had become so common that it was annoying, to read and to hear. My reaction was to replace these common words and phrases with silly substitutes. "Flesh" became "thingy" (courtesy Monty Python). A nod turned into a "watusi." If someone shook his head, he "hornswoggled." And I could have done more, many more. Too many "mutters," "wry smiles" (and if they weren't wry, they were grim)...oh, you'll find your own favorites. For example, I'd like to believe an overzealous editor inserted all those "hads." The mad tense corrector strikes again!

Reading aloud, one has a harder time smoothing over wordiness and overused phraseology. Editors should be attentive to these problems. We'd like to see more effort put into the craftsmanship, as the lack of polish gets in the way of an interesting story. Mr. Scott shouldn't come across as though he's writing this in a rush.

The series is rewarding; no one should try starting with Vol. 3; start from the beginning. It's worth it. Mr. Scott weaves legends and real historical figures into an imaginative new mythos. If you do read it, though, feel free to use my substitutes.

This is a wonderful book for light reading! Just like the two preceding books. I highly recommend this series for adults as well as teenagers. Please note that the series begins with this book:The Alchemyst: The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel

Michael Scott has done it again. The Sorceress delivers everything one could hope for. You are swept away from the first page. I am a reader of fantasy series and this is my favorite one. With every book it is the same experience. I cant put it down and cant wait for the next one to be released. I hope this series never ends.
