Beautiful, soft, feel cool & comfortable but with 1 washing the bottom sheet shrunk. Bought clips to hold it on but could only get 2 on cuz the other 2 corners ended up way too short. Couldn't get them even half way down the mattress corners.

The whole book is pretty much recorded thoughts of the author. I read the prologue and it clearly states "that make me happy". It's not for everyone. Kipfer shares all the small things that made her happy from Holland Cheese to maiden names. I don't even know what most of the things she's listed down, just because I didn't live HER life to be happy about.
Honestly I do feel like I've wasted my money on this just because I feel it's incapable of making me "happy", even though that sounds pretty pathetic resorting to books such as this to make me happy.

If optimizing our wellfare was to be considered here, I definetely wouldn't recommend it. It is a list of contents without sharing the feelings which were born from those experiences. Listing is not enough to make one's feelings flow together with her moments. The review/comments published, when choosing the product, did not mention this "listing" presentation.

My children have known this book over the course of their lifetime --one page at a time! When it was first given to me many years ago, I (like other reviewers) highlighted one particular "happy" on each page. It ended up giving a small glimpse into those things that I truly enjoy, often quirky or snippet of contentment with the mundane. Later, discovered that most my highlights were attached to memorable story and have since shared them with my kiddos. Included in their daily lunches, I started ripping out one page for each kiddo And no, I'm not a crafty Pinterest mom --no time. This is one of a few family ditties that's remained constant. They've learned a little more about mom, and have sparked for themselves thoughts that make them happy & unique & thankful. A critical review lamented the list is what the -author- finds happy, well of course! But who of us can't at least appreciate, if even only for others: thumb wrestling, lumberjacks, birdhouses, planting seeds, and pillow fights? Today my now 18 year old served her first jury summons --you got it-- took a couple pages of "happy" to pacify the time :)

This book is bat-crappingly insane. I can only imagine an upper-middle aged woman writing FURIOUSLY in her notebook at ALL TIMES. ALWAYS. Things that make her happy range wildly from "Tossing cookies" (really????) to "The time that we helped to bake the bread" (so specific). I never tire of this book.

Any time I feel down, I open this book to realize there's someone out there far more insane than I, and I can't help but feel better.

this is fun to browse through periodically - i used to keep it on the coffee table in our livingroom and kids would pick it up and just turn to any page at random - and it really is true that happiness is more about wanting what we have than having what we want - well worth $10 to invest in learning to be happy with what is -

I purchased this book to hand out during a Thanksgiving Eve worship service at my church. The list of things to be happy about are also things to be thankful for. I like the thoughts of happiness from the very little to the very big. Every joyful part of life is something for which to be thankful and I like the author reminding us of this fact. As a result, we can notice more than we have before and our lives will be richer, more connected to others and the earth, and more at peace. Reading the list of 14,000 things does not have to be read all at one time. You can pick up the book for short preiods of time, smile and think of your own list of things to be happy about. Very uplifting.
