While this wasn't my favorite book by this author (The Wall of Winnipeg is the BEST!) I still liked this one more than I had anticipated. I ended up very much enjoying the storyline, especially the relationship between Gaby and her brother and bandmates the most. Solid 4.5 stars.

I cannot get enough of Mariana Zapata! Truly an amazing writer have loved every one of her books! Told in only Gabys POV a slow burn with very little angst. The chemistry is off the charts from the beginning. And the supporting characters are my favorite i truly hope Mase and Elia's story gets told one day!!

Just completely in love with Mariana Zapata's books. I adored the characters in Rhythm, Chord & Malykhin -- there was such great chemistry. None was perfect, but their flaws made them even more endearing.

The pace of the story was great -- I loved how the relationship between Gaby & Sacha developed -- they were funny and sweet, it never felt forced.

Can't wait to read more!

Well Well Well where to begin? This story begins setting the scene & forms the storyline around the friendships being formed. While essentially being a HEA, this book sucks you in & leaves you wanting more of the friendships. The HEA does not overwhelm the story & I absolutely adore a female lead whom can laugh at herself. However you must be warned, do not read this book in public areas as you will laugh out loud.

This book is yet another smash hit for Marianna & I can't wait to see what this author has instore for us in the future.

Enjoyable, witty and heartwarming. I know the author is queen of the “slow burn,” but this book simply felt like a path to true love, with everyday life wrapped up in it. I’m glad to have spent those hours getting to know Gabby, Sasha and the rest of the gang.

Such a good book! The characters are so fully realized, quirks and all, that it's easy to fall in love with them too. The secondary characters are also engaging and complete, adding another layer to the story. A true slow burn, it just keeps getting better and better throughout the book, making the eventual payoff sooooo worth it.

I have truly loved every Mariana Zapata book I have read so far, and this one was no exception. I just love the way she makes her characters so believable and endearing. By the time you are finished with the book they feel like old friends, which is true writing talent in my book! Okay, I'm off to download another of her books. Highly recommend this author!

Zapata rocks the slow burn, friend zone romance once again! RC&M had me laughing out loud throughout. My only issue with it was that the romance was veeeeery slow to build and I didn't get why it stayed FZ for as long add it did.

I really enjoy Mariana Zapata's works and this was no exception. I love how she developed her characters and the romance build slowly. I both read and listened to Rhythm, Chord & Malykhin using the store's whispersync. I had some trouble with that, first time ever, but that didn't take away from the great story.

I bought this book without reading the blurg. After reading Locke, Kulti and Lingus and had a felling that i would love to read Mariana Zapata's shopping list. Seriously! I read around 200 books a year and I never read a slow burn romance like Mariana writes. It makes you glue to the page and do not stop reading. In the end of this book you don't want to end it because it feels like you are saying goodbye to close friends. Read it!

Mariana Zapata has written two books that I really enjoyed, Under Locke and Kulti. Both slow burn romances that, even though the action didn’t happen until later, I loved. I was nervous about Kulti since I’m kind of hit or miss with sports romances but it was awesome. I’m the same way with musician romances but I just knew I would love Rhythm, Chord, and Malykhin. Except I didn’t. Don’t get me wrong, it was good, but it wasn’t great.

There was a lot to like about Gaby and Sacha…they are both soooo sweet. Gaby has found herself at a crossroads and is a little lost. She reconnects with her twin Eli, who’s band is doing a joint tour with Sacha’s. In my opinion, Sacha was too sweet. I like my H’s to be alphas. Sacha held back from going after what he wanted, which led me to have a hard time connecting with him….other than in an “isn’t he just so freaking adorably nice” way. So we’ve determined that Gaby’s sweet is great…Sacha’s is too much.

I’m happy to say there wasn’t a lot of the eye roll inducing angst you usually get in romances that center around a band on tour. Sacha wasn’t banging groupies right and left and that was definitely a plus. Both Sacha and Gaby had ex’s make appearances, but the drama this caused wasn’t over the top.

Although not the big romance I was expecting, MZ’s books can be funny and Gaby’s interactions with her brother Eli, and his two best friends and bandmates, Mason and Gordo, had me in stitches. The relationship between the four of them was a highlight of the book for me. As Gaby got to know Sacha’s bandmates too and the tour they were on progressed, the joking and funny banter between all the tour members kept things interesting.

I liked the book and found it entertaining, I just think the slow burn between Gaby and Sacha was waaaaaaaay too slow. I still love MZ books and will scoop the next one up as fast as I can get to it, I’m just not in love with this one.

Loved, loved, loved this book! The love , sarcasm and craziness between Gabby and her brother and best friends were fantastic. I loved her introduction to Sasha lol! The ease of their friendship to something much more was realistic and so beautiful. I loved their banter and their interaction. Great book!

The personality packed into each character Mariana writes always blows me away. Each person is unique and I loved the banter in this one. I fell in love with the main characters instantly and couldn't get enough. Like Kulti, which was awesome, it's a slow burn but you're rewarded with some steamy scenes before the end. Another great book from Mariana.

Such a fun book! Gabby is such a great character, as are the rest of the band: Eli, Mason and Gordo. Their chemistry and interactions are spot on. You'll be rooting for Gabby to get closure with her idiot ex-boyfriend, and find someone who appreciates her humor. All the while, you'll be laughing!!!

This book was everything a lighthearted romance should be. The characters were charming, the humor spot on and the storyline was fun. The secondary characters added a lot to this read. There could have easily been a sequel to this book though. At the very end we jumped ahead a year which didn't flow well with the rest of the story. If you are looking for a steamy romance with lots of sex scenes this is not it.

I stayed up reading another book by Ms Zapata when I should have been sleeping! I couldn't stop once I got started. The relationships between the boys and Gaby was beautiful. The introduction of Sassy to the dynamic was done very well. I flat out enjoyed this book. It made me laugh a lot! Go read it!

Funny, sweet, beautiful, one of the greatest books I have read. Zapata's writing style is awesome. There were times that I burst laughing, other times I wanted to cry. But mostly laugh. All the guys in this book were loyal, hilarious, ridiculous at times, but lovable. Can't wait next book from Zapata!

What I love about Mariana Zapata, other than her TX roots, is her relationship development. The love between her characters is a slow build which makes the culmination all the more rewarding. I love her tomboy-esque heroines, with tons of sass and lots of heart. Grabby was a delight, and Sascha...grrr. I'm a fan!

I absolutely am a fan of Mariana Zapata in general and really loved this book. The characters were truly believable and had me laughing out loud at a lot of sections of the book. Mariana really takes the time to develop not only the characters but their relationship in a believable, organic way. Totally worth a try!!

I don't typically follow authors, however I have read 3/4 of Z's books and I have enjoyed them all.

This one wasn't the greatest- but it is still better than most of the other stuff out there. The characters in Z's books are awesome. Give this a try- but be sure to read Kulti and Under Locke.

Mariana Zapata is by far one of my favorite authors. I was so happy when more of her books started popping up. Her humor and the depths of her characters are unparalleled. She can take you from crying one second to rolling on the floor laughing the next. Rhythm, Chord & Malykhin was no exception - amazing book - amazing characters - rib aching humor. Made me wish me family was as awesome as Gaby's. Already reading it again!

this was one of the sweetest, funniest, dorkiest books I've ever read. I ate it up. the characters were fabulous and the love story was worth the slow burn to get to the sexy payoff.

a fun weekend read that will leave you chuckling at all the shenanigans.

I love this Author! Every book is different yet she has the ability to weave a story that keeps you totally absorbed with the characters. This story has a great flow, good comedic timing, realistic likeable characters, and a swoony slow burn romance.

I enjoyed this book. I have recently discovered Mariana Zapata and like her writing style. This is the last book of hers I have read. I read them completely out of publication order. I think my favorite book of hers is Under Locke.

Gaby's interactions with her "monsters" and Sacha were awesome. The romance was a slow build starting with friendship and eventually blossoming into something more. The story didn't rely on unnecessary drama and there was absolutely no manwhoring. Just a sweet guy slowly making his move on a funny girl.

Mariana has quickly become one of my favorite writers! Her books...all of them...are awesome. She is such a good story teller and develops her characters so well that you feel like you are best friends with them. Must read!

Highly recommended! I've read most of Zapata's other books and this one definitely lives up to the high standards I have come to expect. There were more laugh out loud moments than I can remember, a lot of great fun and flirting, fulfilling side relationships with Gaby's brother and her other friends on tour. Often I find myself waiting impatiently to get back to the H/h storyline, but in this book it was pretty much equally enjoyable reading all the characters. There wasn't a ton of music (songs), but there was plenty of music/performance-adjacent moments to fulfill that desire. Despite there being a fair amount of bathroom humor, it all came off as funny and laughable to me, rather than as gross, like I've experienced in other books.
I highly recommend this book - which is now my #3 top Zapata read. Which is saying a lot, because I absolutely LOVED Under Locke and The Wall of Winnipeg and Me. This was a great slow burn, that nevertheless was satisfying throughout, with excellent humor and heart.

Uncomplicated, funny with depth, great characters all around-H & h as well as supporting characters. Would read this again in a heartbeat. Note: if you expect hot and heavy sex scenes; this is not the book. Great romance!

This was wonderful! I loved the fact that the siblings and friends were so close. I loved that the romance built slowly through friendship. The main characters were solid and the supporting cast was interesting enough to want to hear their stories in the future. Well done!!!

I really, really love this author, and I love slow burn romance novels. But for me, this book was lacking something I can't quite put my finger on. It was sweet, funny, and romantic. I enjoyed it, but it can't touch the sexual tension and smouldering build up from Under Locke or The Wall of Winnipeg and Me.

Another winner from this author! Friendship, family, fun, and a little sex make this an entertaining summer read. The characters were believable and the story was plausible. I'd recommend it to anyone who likes young love.

It was freaking amazing! I was hooked from page one. I only wish this book was much longer. Rhythm, Chord, & Malykhin was hilarious, romantic, adventurous, and just amazing. Keep up the great work Mariana Zapata! I can't wait for your next book to come out (^v^)

A good romance, but better story would have been more detail and scenes with the brother and friends. I liked the read and would recomenend it, but it isn't any where close to my favorite title Kulti.
