Miss Mechanic is full of all the hate/love shenanigans one could want. From the very beginning, their dislike for one another creates the chemistry between Jamie and Dex until it evolves into much more, making their journey entering and fun.

Dex is a chauvinist, a complete pig when it comes to female mechanics. Surprisngly, though, I still really liked him. His banter with Jamie and seeing him interact with his family makes him much more likable. He also changes and evolves as he gets to know Jamie better and work with her in the garage. His ability to change and grow throughout the story makes his initial behavior forgivable.

Jamie is a spitfire. From the very moment readers meet her, she verbally spars with everyone, particularly Dex. She is the epitome of an independent and strong woman, and I enjoyed seeing her character interact with the other characters. Even though she is her own woman, readers also get to see this vulnerable and awkward side to her character, making her relatable. Unlike Dex, though, she doesn’t go through a significant change over the course of the novel.

This story centers around the antagonism and hatred between the hero and heroine. It is what gets them to interact in a daily basis, it becomes the foundation for their chemistry, and it is the impetus that pushes them into more than disdain for one another. And while the chemistry between them is AMAZING and hate banter is entertaining, there is a lack of significant conflict. While this didn’t necessarily detect from the enjoyment of the story, there was no obstacle or significant issue to overcome.

If you are looking for a light and fun romantics hate to love comedy, Miss Mechanic is perfect for you. It is low angst and high entertainment.

Miss Mechanic is Emma Hart's new standalone romantic comedy and I loved every word! Emma just keeps perfecting her skills in writing hilarious, sexy characters who we love and hate. Well, mostly love. Jamie applies for a job as a mechanic at the shop she grew up in. It isn't her families anymore, but she loves it and what she does for a living. The new owner, Dexter is a total a! He doesn't think a woman can be as good at fixing cars as a man, but he agrees to let Jamie try. Dexter just pushed his way to the front of the line with Jack, Drake and West. Hot damn! I don't know what it is about his sexy, mouthy a but I love him. From the moment he met Jamie he just wants to push her buttons. They bicker and fight, but it's really all foreplay. The best kind of hilarious foreplay! They need to work together and they both need to be right. Who's going to win in the end? Will they be able to keep their hands off each other? I loved this story! Oh my God. I was dying laughing and Dex is everything. Every. Thing. He's jerky on the outside, but oh so smooshy on the inside. He uses his mouth to sling insults and then to give out compliments. Jamie is a sexy, talented sassy mouth. Together they are fire and ice and after a while just sparks and fire! I loved every word.

"Have you ever kissed yourself, darlin'? It's a risk I'm willing to take."

"Lobsters don’t even mate for life. They're dirty little cheaters. Like Ross, since they weren't on a break."

"Actually, yes, I do. In about ten minutes, I'll be putty in your hands, so I'm all about telling you what to do while I still have my wits about me.
"That's the hottest thing you've ever said to me."
"Shut up and finish taking off your clothes."

Emma Hart has to be my favorite author that writes about a strong female character who dishes it out and takes no prisoners.
Jamie is a female mechanic, who lost her family business when they had to sell the garage to cover the ex-stepmother's debts. She's been looking for a job, but no one wants to hire a female mechanic.

She applies for a job with the new garage owners. Much to Dex (the new owner's) chagrine, he's not happy with her "non-female" name because he doesn't believe that women are capable of being mechanics, at least not one as good looking as she is. He agrees to give her a 3 week trial to prove that she can handle it and the challenge begins. Only Jamie needs coffee and is full of sarcasm. I loved her coffee mug, "before coffee, you fucoffee". But what makes Emma Hart's characters so much fun is that the main male character is equally dominant and usually responds with enough snark to compete with her female lead and Jamie and Dex are no different. Like how Dex says, "you bring out the sasshole in all of us honey. It's really not our faults. It's all you."

As if having two main characters full of sarcasm and such tension building chemistry isn't enough, enter the hilarious sister to Dex and Jamie's best friend to add enough drama to the book as well as hysterical older people and a killer young child and this book keeps you flipping the pages, laughing out loud and wanting more. How can you resist a young girl explaining what "banana-split" means or an old lady who's a shot whisperer pushing shots on everyone and everyone getting drunk.

Trust me, Emma Hart has sassy, sarcasm, tension building drama books that you don't want to put down. She reigns supreme in this area. This book will have you laughing out loud!

Emma Hart continuously blows my mind with her delivery of Rom-Com’s. With every book of hers that I read, I always find myself saying “it seriously can’t get any better than this one.” BUT THEN... BOOM!!! She releases another story... that takes over my entire freaking life and I find myself rereading three times, just so I can relive the story and all of those freaking hilarious characters, especially the crazy oldies who create the absolute chaos I have come to love, but best of all, those memorable one liners that have you belly laughing and waking your household up at 3am.

One of my weaknesses is a friends to lovers storyline and oh sweet lord, did this one deliver! Jamie and Dexter began with that sizzle that builds oh so sweetly, flowing to that beautiful inferno that I just hope and pray for in a romance novel.
I loved the sassy, independent, ‘don’t you dare mess with me’ character Jamie blessed the story with. I found her character absolutely hilarious and loved that she could hold her own.
Dex is quite possibly one of my top book boyfriends Emma Hart has created. His charm, THAT mouth, his awkwardness at times, and the fact that he is so freaking sexy sealed the deal.
The connection and chemistry between Jamie and Dex had me laughing, swooning and built so much tension.
The secondary characters were phenomenal. Especially Dex’s family, who in my opinion are OUTSTANDING characters. There was one scene in particular that had me howling with laughter!

Miss Mechanic by Emma Hart is just absolutely freaking perfect! I know it is a book that I will love rereading and for every reader who needs a comedy that still delivers that heat, with a sassy, kickass Heroine and a hotter than hell Hero, Miss Mechanic needs to move straight to the top of your TBR list.

Jamie is one of the best damn mechanics around. But, she can’t find a job for one sole reason, she’s a woman. When a job opportunity opens at that garage that her father used to own she jumps on applying. She doesn’t expect to come head to head with a sexy sexist that all she wants to do is conk him with a wrench. Dex doesn’t believe a woman could handle a job like his. They belong behind the reception desk. When he meets the spicy, sassy Jamie he can’t help but bait her into a bet. They have three weeks to prove each other wrong. What happens when they realize underneath the sarcasm and smart remarks is a steamy passion? Will they be able to come to terms or will it crash and burn?

Jamie and Dex are fantastic. Their back and forth was some of the best I’ve read. Neither would give an inch. That is until they finally accepted being attracted to each other. However, it wasn’t just Jamie and Dex in this book. Both families are hilarious. Dex’s grandfather is a master manipulator and Jamie’s mom is a pro at digging into Jamie’s life, hence the surprise entrance (you’ll love it). I truly love Emma Hart’s writing. She is so fantastic at creating a story that sucks you in, steams up your kindle and keeps you laughing. If you haven’t picked up an Emma Hart book yet, why not start with this fantastic standalone. As a woman you will love sexy Dex, you will admire Jamie’s spunk and laugh at the realistic stupid arguments the two of them get into. As a man, you will find Jamie sexy, Dex will be clearly right but you will love the all around story and car talk. I, for one, can’t wait to see what Emma Hart writes next. I need my next fix.

OMFG!!! This was a blast. And exactly what the doctor ordered to lift my spirits up :D To be honest, this has been one of the funniest stories I've read in recent times. I was belly laughing on practically every page :D And yes, the story in itself is not something that will stay in your heart forever with it's incredible characters and mind blowing story line. But one think I can promise you, is that you will remember the hilarious banter between Jamie and Dex and laugh every time when it comes to mind :)

So yes, Jamie and Dex are definitely two intriguing characters. I love that Jamie represents a strong woman in a male world (being one of those, I know what a pain that can be). But a book is not about gender equality and so on (even if the subject is touched in it). It is simply book written to make you laugh. The constant banter between Jamie and Dex is brilliantly hilarious. And that of course, increases the hot factor between them to combustible proportions. You can practically feel the heat through the pages ;)

So, if you are looking for a read that will put you in a great mood for the holidays, definitely check Miss Mechanic. I can guarantee that you will be belly laughing within the first few minutes. And if that's not enough for you, I can guarantee that the heat created by the smart banter between Jamie and Dex will simply scorch your kindle ;) I can't wait to find out what will be next by the amazing Emma Hart :)

Miss Mechanic was another sexy, hilarious, and entertaining standalone romantic comedy from the lovely and extremely talented Emma Hart, and I absolutely loved it! The storyline and characters were amazing, and I truly loved reading every single page of Dex and Jamie's story.

Dex and Jamie were phenomenal characters and I was hooked to them and their story from page one. Emma’s books just keep getting better and better! Just when I think she can’t write something I’d love more than her last book… BAM! Another epic story comes my way!

If the cover and the blurb didn’t catch your attention, listen to me. You need this book in your life! It’s not often that a book will keep a smile on my face for the ENTIRE book! This rom-com was brilliant. I laughed until my stomach hurt and at the same time felt more confident as woman. I love how fun Emma makes gender reversal stories. They are relatable and funny as heck!

Dexter Ryne is the new guy in town. The new owner of what used to be Jamie’s family’s garage. Out of a job, Jamie applies to work as a mechanic but Dexter thinks she’d be more suited to work reception. He’s not prepared for the fireball that comes his way as she’s determined to prove him wrong and make him eat his words.

Their hate to love relationship is so great! The sexual tension between the two sparks off the pages of this story. Watching them navigate their employee/employer relationship as the desire for each other increases and becomes undeniable. I couldn’t get enough of them together and loved every second of their story!

One of my favorite things about Emma’s books are the secondary characters. They NEVER disappoint! They are hilarious and often super embarrassing for the main characters which make them even better!

Go, right this second, and buy this book! You will not regret it! It’s hilarious, passionate, and truly amazing! I can’t wait for the next one!

Hilarious love story involving two stubborn people who are so alike they can't seem to spend more than 5 minutes in a room together without trying to kill each other.

Jamie was a strong and talented woman struggling in a men's world; but she was not ready to quit doing what she loved, no matter how many interviews she had to go to.

She had a feeling about this job though, it felt like a second chance, but she really wasn't expecting Dexter. She was certain it was hate at first sight, but she couldn't stop thinking about him, and once she got to know him it got worse.

Dexter was sure hiring her was a mistake, but he couldn't help himself. He masked it as a competition he wanted to win, but he knew in fact, he was not letting her walk out of his garage the moment he saw her.

The story was extremely fun; they way in which they fought was super entertaining and it could only mean they were going to be explosive once they accepted they were meant for each other.

The sexual tension during the whole book was crazy intense! They were a breath away from tearing each others throats and clothes at every encounter.

Dexter changed so much since the beginning of the book; at first we see him as a douche but once he lets his walls down, we see he is actually a pretty decent and dreamy guy.

A must read for sure!

5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Emma Hart does it again with her newest book Miss Mechanic. I love her female leading ladies and handsome supporting hunky men! She is the queen of romantic comedy. I love how Jamie stands up for herself and won’t back down. And even though Dex doesn’t think Jamie shouldn’t be working in the shop along side of him, you can’t help but fall for him and his crazy family.

Jamie’s family had to sell there business and when someone new in town buys it and is looking for a new mechanic, she decides to apply. But she knows she will get some resistance being a woman in a man’s profession, she just didn’t know how much she would get from the new owner Dex.

Dex is not expecting the beautiful woman standing in his business to be the person who is applying for the mechanic job. And he absolutely doesn’t think she belongs there either. But he decides to give her a trial run if 3 weeks and if she meets his expectations than they will talk. What he wasn’t expecting though was the instant attraction he has for her even when she won’t take his crap.

During the trial period they continue to annoy each other but at the same time the both begin to sneak through each other’s walls. And they come to the point where they can’t deny their attraction to each other any longer. But will it be a one time only deal? Or will Dex be able to break down not only Jamie’s walls but his own also?

Emma Hart creates the strongest and most amazing heroines. I LOVED Jaime in this book. I can’t even imagine the difficulties of trying to break through what most still consider a “man’s world.” The sexism she must face and even though she’s incredibly tired of the same lame excuses she continues to go after her dream. It’s an admirable trait in anyone. Plus, I love her feistiness. I imagine Hart as this type of woman. Someone with a foul mouth and this incredible strength that surrounds them since that is the women she seems to create in most of her books.

I LOVE when Emma Hart releases a RomCom or really any book. I know I’m gonna love the characters and their attitudes. But she always throws in these things or people that set her books above par. Dexter seems to have a stick up his butt, or at least that’s how I saw him at first. However, seeing him with his family was just plain magical. Charley was the best! That little girl kept a smiled glued on my face and a chuckle in my chest! I almost couldn’t handle all her wittiness! She was just too much!

So if you’re interested in a RomCom that’s a bit of enemies to lovers with a ton of spicy family tossed in Miss Mechanic is perfection! This is a wickedly hilarious version of battle of the sexes. Dex and Jaime battle it out. Even though it’s a romantic comedy, I did get the feel of the larger issue talked about here: sexism. Besides that this book is just good fun and you’ll be entertained the entire time!

Emma once again proves why she is the queen of Romcom.
Miss Mechanic ticks all the boxes...hilarious, sarcastic and a hot alpha male. Seriously, what’s not to love?!
Jamie is a female mechanic who has grew up working in her dad garage, after he loses the garage no one is willing to take a chance on a female mechanic. She applies for a job at her dads old garage and makes a deal with the new owner Dex, if she proves she is a kick ass mechanic within 3 weeks he hires her. They start of as enemies who bicker non stop but let’s face it we all know that bickering and sassy attitudes make great foreplay.
Jamie’s attitude is brilliant, Emma makes her come to life with her sass and quick witted banter you just can’t help but want to be besties with her.
Dex is our hot alpha male who doesn’t believe woman make mechanics... he is quickly proved wrong! Dex definitely makes a great match for Jamie, he goes one for one with her when it comes to attitude and sarcastic comments. I just loved reading their story!
I’ve gotta say though my favourite character was aunt Greta. It wouldn’t be an Emma Hart romcom without an oldie who has better sass than any of the younger characters. Greta’s No filter had me laughing out loud right the way through.

Definitely a must read. I feel like could gush about this book all day. Well done Emma, another brilliant book!

Miss Mechanic by Emma Hart is a standalone romantic comedy that had me laughing out loud and fanning my face from all that STEAMY goodness! Ms. Hart continues to blow me away with her rom-coms. (And this is coming from a person who isn’t a huge fan of them!)

Jamie, who is currently jobless, grew up in her father’s mechanic garage. When he is forced to sell, Jamie knows it will be next to impossible to find a job. When an ad pops up at her dads old garage she figures she has nothing to lose. Or so she thought...

Dexter has recently taken over a garage and is looking for a mechanic. He is as stubborn as they come and has some very backwards views on women. And his number one flaw is he believes women should not be mechanics-in his garage at least. In walks Jamie Bell and when she opens her mouth and says she’s here for the interview-well let’s just say Dex gives her a hard time and an expiration date. Little does he know Jamie never backs down and is one sarcastic stubborn woman.

I absolutely LOVED Miss Mechanic! I knew it was going to be good but I didn’t realize how much I was going to love it. From the banter to the chemistry Emma Hart knows how to capture your attention and keep it til the very last page. Jamie and Dex’s story is full of laughs, the best one-liners, and so full of heat. I highly recommend this book and I am so looking forward to seeing what’s next!

Reviewed For I'm A Sweet And Sassy Book Whore

Miss Mechanic was an entertaining read to say the least. Certain professions are considered male dominated and they are but there are some very capable women who are also able to do the job as well. Now I really was on Jamie’s side because I worked with my dad for years and I got a lot of #@!! from men because I was doing what most considered a male only type of job, now did some of those %@$#@$$#$, I mean haters go away unscathed? Yeah some had a limp when I was done what can I say? I have a bit of a temper and they deserved it but anyways on to my review.

Now while I may have been routing for Jamie to win against Dex at the same time I knew it was more than what he let on to believe. There is a fine line between love and hate and sometimes that line becomes so blurred that all of that so called hate and jabs at each other is the best kind of foreplay ever. The dance these two d around each other was at times, hilarious, it was sexy and it was hot. I mean Dex could bend me over a hood any day of the week and twice on Sunday. Now I did have a little issue with Jamie’s best friend, at first I liked her but then she started to get on my nerves some.

Miss Mechanic was a really good book that will have you laughing and hot and bothered from beginning to the end. This is one that needs to be on your TBR shelves for sure!

I enjoyed Miss Fix-It, but I absolutely LOVED Miss Mechanic! As much as I loved the back and forth dialogue between Jamie and Dexter, I wish this book was longer just so I could get more laughs from these two. Dexter has the potential to be swoon-worthy, but he's a bit of a chauvinist. It's weird how that works out for him though (in my eyes) because he's just chauvinistic enough that I could find it charming in a weird way. But then again, his outlook could be the same thing that would cause me to cuss him 6 ways to Sunday. Of course he doesn't think a woman who's beautiful like Jamie is would know her way under the hood of an automobile, so of course Jamie has to represent for all the women who are undermined by a man. And represent she does!

Another thing that makes this book so much fun is how much these two mix like oil and water whenever they're in the same zip code, let alone at the same garage. And being that Emma Hart certainly knows how to create interesting characters, let me speak for a moment on Dexter's family (his grandfather, great aunt and niece) and the things that come out of their mouths at any given moment. HILARIOUS! I laughed so hard at these people I snorted. And then I laughed at that (sometimes I can be such a 12 year old). The road to a HEA for Dexter and Jamie certainly isn't a walk in the park, but goodness knows the friction between these two makes the journey worthwhile!

Oh this book was wonderful!!! Emma Hart has done it again with a story of overcoming obstacles and proving that woman can do anything men can do, sometimes even do it better!!!

Jamie is quick witted, sarcastic, opinionated and kind. She is a hard worker and loves what she does, but no one takes her seriously and that’s because she is a mechanic. Jamie is out to prove men wrong and when she meets Dex, it becomes more than just proving herself, it becomes a game that neither of them thought they would lose; their hearts.

Dex is an @$$hole with a big heart. He loves deeply but sometimes his confidence turns to the side of arrogance. His family is absolutely hilarious and Charley was the best kid!!! I am definitely stealing some of her phrases!! Dex is definitely a little closed minded when it comes to Jamie being a mechanic but he can’t deny his feelings for her and she proves him wrong in the women can’t be in the garage department.

Dex & Jamie have a very passionate relationship; whether they are arguing or doing other things, they are all in. It was nice that this book wasn’t just they meet, so the dirty then the end, no, they got to know each other and I think that helped with building up their characters and the story. Emma Hart really knows how to write a book that will have you feeling all sorts of emotions and this one was no different!! I am so excited for what she comes out with next!!!

Miss Mechanic is the perfect romantic comedy. Throw an heroine with a feisty personality with a stubborn sexy hero and you’ve got a winner! I found myself smiling wide and laughing so often during this light read.

Jamie Bell has a very sassy attitude and is quite sarcastic, which bring a lot of hilarious moments with her new boss Dexter Ryne. She wants to prove him that a girl can make the job as a mechanic. She’s so set to prove him wrong and earned her position in his garage. Dex doesn’t like to be wrong and makes everything to irritate her when he soon realizes that she knows what she’s doing with cars.

It’s always one-liners after another between these two. I enjoyed every single minute of this funny read. While you get to experience a comical story, you also get the strong underlying attraction they share. All the repressed desire they refrain, lead to spicy moments when they finally succumb to the inevitable.

I really enjoyed the secondary characters, that all added another side of humour and teasing. They clearly see the sparks between Jamie and Dex and scheme to get them together.

Miss Mechanic will definitely entertain you for a few hours and leave you with a huge grin on your face. Emma Hart never fails and penned here another humorous, engaging, sexy story.

Jamie Bell is a mouthy, strong, stubborn, confident feisty firecracker who knows anything and everything about cars. She grew up in a garage and worked in one until her family was forced to sell the family business. She has been looking for work but unfortunately gets the cold shoulder in her profession because she’s a woman.

Dexter Ryne runs his grandfathers garage which happens to be Jamie’s dads old one. He needs a mechanic and the only mechanic around happens to be Jamie. Imagine his surprise when she strolls in there for her job interview. He is sexy, snarky and a bit bullheaded.
When Dex and Jamie make a little bet on a trial run at the garage will these two be able to not chuck a wrench at one another’s heads? Someone may just need stitches after just one day. Jamie doesn’t back down, neither does Dex but is it because he truly doesn’t want a woman working in his garage or is it because he doesn’t a woman that looks like Jamie working in his garage? They are both hot tempered, smart mouthed and more alike than they realize. The instant tension with these two is undeniable and you know its only a matter of time before someone’s engine starts revving!

I loved this cute, fun, entertaining read! I adored the main characters and the secondary ones as well. Jamie and Dex’s friends and family are insane! Another great rom-com from Emma Hart that is sure to win your heart!

Emma Hart's latest RomCom addition, a fantastic slow-burning enemies-to-lovers read that will leave you wanting more!

Jamie grew up working in the family garage business with her dad, getting dirty and messy under the bonnet of a car, and is damn good at it!! The business got sold and the new owner needs a mechanic, which Jamie applies for. Dex was not expecting a woman at his door for the mechanics job, and is not interested in hiring her. Jamie flips and has had enough and is sick and tired of being turned down for jobs because she is a woman, and gets Dex to give her a 3 week trial as a challenge to prove she is better than he is. The problem being she is most definitely attracted to him and his sexy ass, but his arrogant ways rub her up the wrong way and the sass and fire that fly out of her mouth could set fire to his garage!! Dex is drawn to her fire and wit, but she is proving to be a real pain with her attitude!!

A great read full of sass and wit, I loved their back and forth banter with each other, which gets steamier and sexier the longer they work together, and had me laughing out loud several times! Women working in male dominated environments (like myself) will understand what Jamie has to cope with everyday, and I think Emma did a great job in putting this across in this book. A fun, sexy, flirty read - highly recommended.

There is nothing like seeing a woman stand up for herself and that's exactly what Jamie does in this book. From the first time they meet, she realizes he is a cocky SOB that she is not going to let walk over her.

Jamie is the only female mechanic around and everyone in their small town loves her. When she is down on her luck, she has no choice to apply for a job at the local mechanic shop. The bad thing? It's the shop her dad had to sell to make ends meet. Not willing to back down, she walks in with her head held high and faces Dex head on.

Dex doesn't know what to think of this sexy woman in a dress who comes in to apply for the mechanic job. He thinks she must be kidding. No way can a woman do a man's job, or so he thinks. Giving her a trial period, she surprises him in more ways than one. He soon finds out she not only knows cars, but is quite the woman. The more they are together, the more the sparks fly. They can only deny their connection for so long until they can't stand it anymore. Their chemistry is off the charts!

Jamie is a strong woman and I loved everything about her. Dex may start out being mouthy and cocky, but he knows he wants Jamie and nothing will stop him. Dex is sexy but oh so sweet. I love their back and forth bickering. It's funny and so cute that you can't help but to enjoy this book.

I thought Miss Fix-It was AMAZING but Miss Mechanic was just...BETTER, HOTTER, SASSIER, and WONDERFULLY entertaining! Emma Hart KNOCKED it out of the ball park with this one! I LOVED Jamie SO FREAKING HARD! Her sass, her capabilities under the hood, the way she let her snark and attitude out with Dex had me full out smiling and laughing out loud. I could easily see her as a best friend. And Dex...damn, he is one HOT TAMALE. The way he said "darlin'" had my heart fluttering and the incredible heat and push and pull between Dex and Jamie was HOT as hell and so irresistible.

Miss Mechanic is a story with great banter, sizzling heat, comedy that will make you LOL and incredible storyline that just called to me. The way Jamie proves that a woman mechanic is real and heck, better than a man mechanic was truly awe inspiring and I loved how easily she seemed to get one up on Dex, had me liking her more and more. And Dex...I couldn't help but to swoon and sigh with him. The chemistry between them was something that I felt on every page and every interaction and its something I craved more of. Its a STUPENDOUSLY FANTASTIC ROMANCE!

Miss Mechanic gets a FUN, SASSY, AND OH SO CHARMING FIVE SHOOTING STARS! I can definitely use more of this type of romantic comedy, especially from Emma Hart!

My favorite thing honestly about this book is that it breaks the sterotypes that girls can't be say a mechanic.  Jamie followed in her dad's footsteps and cars are her passion and I love that so much.  She is tough and takes no $#!& from anyone, especially Dex.  Dex does't want to hire "a girl" and yet he is intrigued by her and he loves her mouth, she challenges him and it keeps this book light and fun.  While dealing with sexism in a way, and proving that girls are just as good as boys.  While it can be a sensitive topic, the author did a good job of making us enjoy the balance that really came out of these two people.
The side characters were a great addition and also kept this book on the lighter side.  The banter everyone had with each other was so much fun and yet, we learned a lot about Jamie and Dex throughout the book and through their interactions with others.  Jamie really just wanted to be taken seriously.  And you could see deep down Dex and Jamie's banter was because there was underlying feelings there.  Jamie just didn't want to have them because she felt he didn't respect her as a mechanic, and I loved her proving herself wrong in her feelings and proving him wrong in her work.
Overall this was a great light-hearted book that I would definitely read again.

I love a gender flip story, after all who doesn’t love a good story that’s outside of the norm? Miss Mechanic is a fantastic book, I can’t really decide whether I loved the story or the characters the most to be honest I just know that both are pretty incredible.

I think the fact that it is a dual POV story is brilliant, I don’t think I would have liked it half as much without Dex’s POV because... well there is no sugar coating it, I despised him at the start, I was wholeheartedly on Team Jamie and that wasn’t likely to change without his POV, so I’m thankful it was there because in the end I actually really quite liked him. If there is one thing I love about Emma’s books it’s her use of sassy kids and inappropriate elderly family members and Miss Mechanic has both, I was in stitches at Charley’s rude word replacements and at Greta and Edwin’s behaviour, I spent a good chunk of my time reading this book with a face splitting grin.

In the end I really loved the way Jamie and Dex’s story played out, the way they interacted with each other was hilarious! Another brilliant book Emma!

Emma Hart brings us a slow-burning, enemies-to-lovers romance that you'll love.

Jamie's an out of work mechainc after her family's auto shop is sold. Dex's family is the one who bought the auto shop and he is in need of an employee. When Jamie applies for the job, she doesn't have high hopes. She's been turned down for jobs she's overly qualified for in the past purely because she is a female. When she and Dex meet it is instant dislike on both their parts, but when he offers her trial employement, even with his reservations that she is female, they slow, oh so slowly change their opinions of each other.

The thing about Emma Hart's books that work is that they are simple and straightforward without a lot of extra. She also writes great secondary characters. There isn't anything particularly groundbreaking with this book, which I feel is what really makes it work. There isn't a scandal or a big secret. It is simply two people who hate each other in the beginning finally recognizing something in the other. Plus, there is Charley, Dex's precocious, seven-year-old niece who uses creative curse word replacements and tells it straight!

I think you'll really enjoy this new standalone romance from Emma Hart!

Female mechanics actually exist! This is a story about one named Jamie who is sick and tired of being laughed at and passed over when it comes to job opportunities. Dex is one such person who has his doubts about her. He’s the manager of sorts of the shop that once belonged to Jamie’s family. He’s not eager to hire a woman as his mechanic, and who could blame him when society has instilled the idiotic belief that only males can do certain jobs and women should be restricted to others. That’s okay though, because it just makes it that much more satisfying when Jamie crushes his doubts and proves him wrong. The back and forth banter and constant sparring was steamy foreplay that enhanced their already fiery chemistry and hot romance.

This story has plenty of seriousness and depth to give it substance, but it also makes for a sexy and fun romantic comedy. The light vibe and fast pacing of this entertaining story shows how well Hart can write rom-coms. MISS MECHANIC had laugh-out-loud comedy and fantastic secondary characters that kept the humor rolling on, in addition to realistic and likable characters. This gender-bending romance shows how women can do traditionally male jobs and break those gender stereotypes.

Nothing pulls you into a book like an amazing and unique cover and Miss Mechanic's is one of the best I have seen... EVER! It pulls you in and the story keeps you there!

Coming from a family where I have five brothers and mostly male cousins, I am all for a woman who knows what she is worth and isn't afraid to show a man who is boss. That is why sassy, independent female characters will always be my favorites. Emma Hart totally nails them in her books!

This story has a sexy alpha and with our sassy lady they make one explosive story, both in chemistry and life!

The female in the story has a male dominated career, but she never once lets that get her down. She busts her ass to make it in the world of mechanics and she looks sexy while doing it, driving her sexist boss all sorts of crazy.

I laughed out loud a couple of times with this story and I hardly ever do that, so that is a BIG deal in the comedy of the story. I haven't checked out the other books Hart has with these creative covers, but I totally plan to asap!

MISS MECHANIC is a standalone, enemies to lovers, romantic comedy and it really is funny as heck! When Jamie goes back to her dad's old garage to apply for a job, she IMMEDIATELY butts heads with the new owner's grandson, Dex. Jamie and Dex loathed each other but were equally attracted to each other. And Emma Hart's brand of snark had me cracking up! Talk about witty banter...these two characters (especially Jamie) could definitely dish it out! Dex was a bit of a "cr@p bag" in the beginning...I mean I understand that generally, mechanics are men but still, it was a little galling that he presumed Jamie to not be a good enough mechanic because of her gender (He, of course, redeemed himself!). I WAS a little surprised that they didn't come together faster than they did BECAUSE of their animosity (which actually translated to explosive chemistry!) I also LOVED the secondary characters; Greta, Pops, Roxy, Charley..they added another layer of comedy that had me smiling throughout! This is a fun, light read, heavy on sarcasm and sexual tension. Told from dual POVs with a funny and sweet ending. I received, read and voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

I don’t think there are enough words to describe how utterly fabulous this book is! It’s hilarious, laugh embarrassingly loud, romantic fun and I could not get enough of it!

Jamie has followed in her fathers footsteps and works as the local town mechanic though as her dad had to sell their garage she’s been finding it hard to get work lately. When a job becomes available at her dads old garage, now under new management, she reluctantly applies. Little did she know the battle of the sexes that would ensue. Dex, the new owner, is one gorgeous piece of man candy but he also happens to be a sexist pig. Jamie may hate working with him but she isn’t about to let him win! But when the anger and the games are gone, will Jamie be able to resist him?

I love, love, LOVED this book! I laughed so hard I had tears streaming down my face 80% of the time. Dex and Jamie were a brilliant couple and the secondary characters were awesome - Charley’s non-swear words were amazing! Emma has definitely done it again with this one, an incredible read you need to get now!

I can never go wrong with a Emma Hart book. She writes funny, quirky characters with relatable problems and a lot of fun tears.
Miss Mechanic is the second book in her “Miss-Series” first one being Miss Fix-It. The book can be read as total standalone, no characters reappear, just the fact that the main character has an unusual job, for a woman is similar.
Dex and Jamie had sparks flying from meeting No. 1 and it was great! Both characters were stubborn and funny and more than once I laughed out loud while reading the banter with each other or the side characters. Dex’ niece was a hoot!
I loved how strong Jamie was. How she held her ground when Dex and all of the others didn’t think that she could be a mechanic and proofed them all wrong. It was awesome and made me want to learn about car mechanics for myself, just so I could repair some things and show the guys how it’s done!
You see it was an inspirational book and I really liked the writing style which was easy to read and understand, supporting the plot really good.

Miss Mechanic

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 Review by Kristie K

Fun, flirty, and lots of dirty…Miss Mechanic brings sexual tension to a whole new level with humor and plenty of heat…

Emma Hart delivers another incredible hit with Miss Mechanic! As with every other book by Ms. Hart that I have had the pleasure to read, she injects humor and fun into every inch of the storyline. Sure, there may be moments of tension or angst, but the majority of the time it is a whole lot of fun and sexual tension. An intriguing plot and storyline, capped off with outstanding execution and overall writing brings Miss Mechanic up to the level we expect from Emma Hart. The characters are fantastic! They bring to life the essence of the story, with their wit, playful and emotionally charged banter, and their passion. Each character had a depth and soul all their own, a personality that you can’t help but love, and a truth that opens you up. If you wanna get a little dirty this Christmas, Miss Mechanic is the perfect read for you!

This is the ultimate battle of the sexes and hilarious at best. Jamie is a woman who grew up working as a mechanic in her father’s garage before he was forced to sell it. Dex is the man who is now running said garage and thinks a woman’s place is NOT in the garage. Hiring her on a trial basis to prove that she really doesn’t belong there, things get very interesting.

In typical enemies to lovers fashion, these two start off hating each other. The constant arguing and banter between these two is nothing more than several weeks long foreplay. The sexual tension and chemistry between them is undeniable and combustible at best. I loved the interactions with both of their families. Those just added to the overall story. I would have liked to have had a little more of them being an actual couple, instead of deciding in the last ten percent of the book they actually have feelings for each other, but it still didn’t take away from the overall story for me. Another great read from Emma Hart.

Miss Mechanic is the second of Emma’s gender switch novels and has to be one of my favorite books of this year. Miss Fix It was the first in the series and is just as funny. Miss Mechanic is a slow burning, snarky story of two grease monkeys. Jamie Bell, whose father lost his business thanks to his ex-wife and Dexter Ryne, the man who now runs the garage. Dex needs a mechanic and Jamie applies for the position.
Sparks fly when she turns up for her interview. Dex was expecting a man- not… Jamie.
Things go from bad to worse after he offers her a 3 week trial.
Neither are prepared to back down from the hostilities that first day set up, but slowly they get closer until the lines between hate and love are so blurred they can no longer see the difference.
This was a sexy, spirited story. It took a long time for them to get it on but once they did, it was HOT as hell. Loved the bickering and banter, if not all the tacos lol.
Will they survive the whole three weeks?
Or will a wrench be thrown in the works by Miss Mechanic?

I LOVE YOU EMMA HART!!!

MISS MECHANIC WAS AMAZING!!! I laughed, blushed, and giggled so much. This book was more than I expected, I didn’t want it to end at all.
Dex was just, AMAZING! I loved him so much, when we first meet him we only get this guy who believed that a “sexy woman” shouldn’t be working with cars at all. When we finish this book we have a new Dex that knows that a woman is capable of anything.
Jamie is just amazing, she proves people that she is capable of doing anything; she doesn’t give easily and fights to always keep going. Dex and Jamie have this chemistry that I loved so much, they argue, flirt, and fall in love with each other when they weren’t even looking for one another.
What I loved must about this book was how Emma Hart tells us that any woman is capable of ANYTHING; we shouldn’t limit ourselves with what society wants us to be or do. Women are capable of doing ANYTHING they set their minds to. I loved this book so much I just didn’t want it to end.

THIS IS FOR SURE A MUST READ!!

There’s just something about Emma Hart that can make sarcasm and motor oil sexy. I loved Miss Mechanic!

Dex....this city boy was in need of a little insight into all things small town .....especially one homegrown female named Jamie. And she was more than willing to be the thorn in his side.

Jamie has more to prove being a woman in a man’s line of work. So when she strikes a deal with Dex to prove her worth things get interesting.

I absolutely loved their banter and chemistry that was simmering beneath the surface from the moment they met. Dex and Jamie were enjoyable characters to spend time with. Both strong minded, determined and fluent in sexy sarcasm.

No surprise here for me that I was up late reading since I couldn’t get enough of Jamie and Dex. Jamie’s best friend Haley was a fun secondary character as well.

If you’re a fan of Emma’s work you will most definitely enjoy this quick witted sexy read.

Miss Mechanic was everything I've come to expect from Emma Hart. It is romcom at it's finest. I was completely sucked in from the beginning and didn't want to leave this story even at the end. I laughed, I swooned, I gasped, and I even felt a bit of nervousness throughout the story. Emma has a of giving her readers an escape and Miss Did that and so much more.

Jamie is determined to make her place in a "man's world" by getting a job at the shop that her dad used to own. Jamie isn't just some girl trying to impress a guy by knowing about cars, knowing about cars is Jamie's life. Dex is convinced that Jamie belongs at the front desk rather than under the hood of a car. Will Jamie be able to prove to Dex she has a place in the shop, or will her plans fall apart? You'll have to read to find out, and trust me it'll be worth every minute spent on this one.

Miss Mechanic ...what a fabulously funny, sassy romantic comedy!
The perfect enemies to lovers tale. Dex and Jamie cannot be more alike. They each want to be the top dog . Dex has just purchased the local garage in town that Jamie's dad sold. This left Jamie out of a job and Dex the proud new owner needing help!
The moment they meet the witty, sexually charged banter will have you laughing. They are constantly sparing but soon the brooding Dex realizes a few things and that may be a game changer.
Jamie has never met a more infuriating man and that has her in a tizzy and ready to prove her automotive skills while verbally sparring with him at every turn. Jamie soon realizes that yes he irritates her to no end but ...does she actually kind of enjoy being around him....if he isn't speaking LOL.
Loved this feisty, sexy, funny romance!!

Miss Mechanic by Emma Hart is a standalone, contemporary romance novel.

Meet Jamie Bell. She comes from a family of mechanics and bleeds motor oil. Jobless because of her gender she applies in a new garage at town.
Dex Ryne runs the garage and challenged he gives Jamie a job. Both are like fire and water. They clash at every occasion.
Jamie is sassy, feisty, smart mouthed and sometimes bad tempered.
Dex is set in his ways, so he thinks, he's annoying too.
Both have a crazy insta-chemistry, their sexual attracktion is through the roof high - which leads to the inevitable.

Miss Mechanic is a witty and fun read with a strong message. I started reading and was captivated from the beginning. The writing is great, the story is brilliant and I love the words and the characters.
I give 5 wonderful stars. Thank you, Emma Hart!

Miss Mechanic is an enemies to lovers story, and it's great. Jaime, who has worked in her father's garage since she was a child, is determined to prove to Dex that she can work just as well in his garage as he can, if not better. She's determined to prove that just because she's a woman, it doesn't mean that she can't do what's considered to be a man's job. Dex is willing to humor her, but he's not convinced she'll make it through her trial period.

Jaime and Dex were great together. I loved the sarcastic banter between the two of them, as well as watching their relationship develop over time.. The book also has a bunch of quirky side characters who provide many laugh-out-loud moments.

Fans both new and old are in for a treat with this book.

Emma never disappoints and once again brings her wit, charm and sass to Ryne's Garage.
Jamie, oh I love Jamie. I think because her mouth and attitude remind me of myself so much, well minus the mechanic part. Yeah I'm definitely not that. I have to say that Dex kinda got on my nerves a bit at first, what with his neanderthal views about women in the workplace and all, but true to her craft, Emma delights us with how Jamie puts him in his place. Even fighting their attraction towards each other, they continue to throw barbs while working, almost to the point of high school guy likes the girl so he picks on her.
This story again has Emma's notorious wit and sass and will guarantee you laughs and possibly a change of panties! Yeah its hot too!

5 reasons to read Miss Mechanic

It features a kick-butt lady who knows her stuff.
Soooo much sexual tension. I loved every second of it.
Dex & Jamie. I loved both of these characters for different reasons. I connected with Jamie because so many times women are told they aren’t good enough in certain areas of life. Jamie blows that idea out of the water. And Dex… well he grows on you with his ridiculous ideas that get proven wrong.
The side characters are as funny and well developed as Dex and Jamie. I think we all have an Aunt Greta.
The banter. Watching Dex and Jamie in a conversation is hilarious.

If you like strong ladies who take no crap, and men who learn a thing or two, this is definitely a book you should pick up.

I really enjoy these kinds of stories. The angsty, tension-filled romances. These stories by Emma Hart with the gender role reversal jobs have been so much fun to read. Jamie is a mechanic and has trouble getting jobs because no one thinks a girl can handle it. She gets Dex (the new owner of her dad's old garage) to accept a challenge to prove him wrong. My god, the tension starts right off the bat. The banter between these two actually had me laughing out loud. This book flowed so well that I had it done in one day. The play on words at times are so brilliant! And I could actually envision this in my mind as if I was watching a movie. Both of these characters (and their families) are quirky and I am a sucker for that every time.

Miss Mechanic is a great read! As usual Emma Hart writes books that I enjoy since the very first page until the last word and this one is no exception! This book is sexy, funny, lighthearted and full of great secondary characters.

The banter between Dex and Jamie is absolutely wonderful. The sexual tension and the chemistry between the characters is described in such a great way that we fall in love with them instantly!

Another thing I love about Emma Hart;s books is that the interaction between the main characters is almost constant and the book is entertaining and very dynamic.

Wonderful read! I highly recommend it!!!

I loved this book! Miss Mechanic was hilarious, witty, smart. I was sucked into this story from the start. Jamie’s confidence and her willingness to prove herself was refreshing. She refused to give up her passion in a “male dominated” field, even when her new boss, Dex, thought she should. The non-stop banter between them had me cracking up, and the tension had me devouring their story.

“We set each other off. Alone, he was gasoline and I was a lit match. Together, we were a raging inferno.”

Miss Mechanic is a perfect enemies-to-lovers story with a twist. If you’re a fan of this trope, or of strong-willed female characters, then I highly recommend giving Miss Mechanic a try!

Laugh out loud hilarious.
Jamie is not your typical woman. She's over no one taking her seriously. She knows a woman usually doesn't work in a garage, but when you're raised in one you tend to learn your way around a car.
Jamie is full of fire and I love it! So strong and independent. She just wants to do what she loves. Work on cars. Dex owns her dad's old shop and needs help. They strike up a deal. The banter is hilarious and the chemistry is off the charts. They keep denying their feelings, but a bet can't keep them from falling for each other.
I can't wait to go back and catch up on her other books! This series is a great twist on your regular rom-com! Women can do anything!

Emma Hart takes sexual tension and banter to the extreme in Miss Mechanic. If you're a fan of enemies-to-lovers, you'll be all over this one.
Dex and Jamie were two of the most stubborn characters I've ever read. They alternated between infuriating and on fire throughout the story. One minute I was wanting to shake someone and the next, I was swooning. Their relationship was all over the place and it had me tearing through the pages to see how everything would turn out.
Hart delivers a funny, sexy, and frustrating read. I'm enjoying this series and look forward to what's to come.

I was literally laughing out loud while reading this. Dex hires Jamie on a trial basis and the sparks fly throughout the whole book. Jamie is snarky and she doesn't back down from a challenge. Dex may have an outdated outlook on what a woman's job is but Jamie is going to show him how wrong he is.

These two aren't happy unless they're disagreeing but the making up sure is worth it. They just wouldn't be them without the bickering that makes you giggle when you're reading it.

If you're looking for a funny, steamy read this book does not disappoint!

This book was a great read. Loved every minute of reading and devoured every word in one sitting. Miss Mechanic follows Jamie a female mechanic who has spent her whole life being told by most guys that she wasn't qualified to be a mechanic, but only because she was female and Dex the owner of Ryne Garages who is looking for a qualified mechanic. But when two stubborn people come together tempers flair, tensions rise, but so does the attraction between these characters.

This wasn’t my favorite, but it was still fantastic. It was filled with the great banter that Emma manages to write, hilarious family members and children and an amazing female lead. The part that fell short for me is that I feel she would be more put out by some of the flirtatious comments Dex makes at the beginning of their relationship, with as strong willed as she is and as sexist as she believes he is. I expected more of a fight on her feelings or between the two, or at least a better moment of her putting him in his place, but it was still excellent over all.

What better way to prove yourself in a mans world then to challenge your boss? Jamie has been a mechanic all her life wants to be taken seriously. That's until she meets Dex her new soon to be boss. Right off the bat, Jamie and Dex shared this intense sexual chemistry that either one would like to admit. From funny, snarky comments to hilarious innuendos. Emma had relatable characters that made you feel at home. Not to mention a 7 years old sassy attitude. A serious must read if you are wanting some steamy romantic comedy.

Dex is all about the honesty, “actually, I was going to give you a hand in the hopes I could touch your ***.” Dex has no filter, "I groaned and turned around. “What do you expect me to do? I tell you yesterday I’d love to eff you, and now you show up to work looking like that.” Jamie and Dex have got some crazy family members, “oh.” Aunt Greta tilted her head to the side. “As long as you used protection.” I loved this book, I adored the characters and Dex and Jamie were really made for each other.
