Just finished The Hookup and I need to announce this book is one of Kristen's best ever! I actually want a follow up on this one, wondering what happens next since I got so involved in these characters. Also, need another book to continue Toby and Addies relationship. Such a beautiful love story with Izzy that I am craving for more!! Good job!

The blurb giving a synopsis of the story was very misleading, but the book was fantastic in spite it that. I always know I’ll get an amazing story from KA so I wasn’t worried and Johnny was awesome. I did feel this book might have the least character depth of all the KA books I’ve read, but her least is still far more than most authors give so I felt satisfied and excited for the next book in this series.

Let me start by saying that I LOVE Kristen Ashley. This book just seemed to fall flat in what she is known for. There wasn’t really any angst and Johnny, while sweet, just didn’t do anything for me. Normally I will read KA books over and over. This was just a throw away for me. I miss the KA of Golden Dynasty, Sweet Dreams and Lady Luck. Where did she go? I haven’t seen the level of writing that she is known for in a while.

Pure Kristen Ashley. I love love love her characters in this one. Izzy is just so chill and laid back and Johnny is what every girl dreams of. This was a change of pace from her other works. It took me about 6 hours to read, I couldn't put it down. And it wouldn't be a Kristen Ashley book without at least one kidnapping;)

First of all, any Kristen Ashley book is an automatic buy for me! And this one is no different. I absolutely love this new series and I love when Kristen writes unique stories with complex characters and puts them together. 11/10 Highly Recommend

As with all Kristen Ashley books you never know what you're going to get, you only know it's going to be good and you're going to want more. She did not disappoint us here. My only complaint is that she can't turn them out fast enough for me.

As ALWAYS, I enjoyed this love story. Ms. Ashley never fails to tell a very good story!!! I try to keep up with her books. I do keep a close watch on the new releases. Hope the next one in this new series is coming at us soon! Johnny and Izzy were so darn cute together! Their trials they handled very well, and had wonderful back up in their chosen family! Good read!

I love the strength that Eliza "Izzy" carries with such ease. And really Johnny is a dream with his broody self. But no fear or girl saves him beautifully!

If I had to criticize I would say what about Izzy's crazy ex? He couldn't have just dropped off. But this is only book one, so I'll wait to see.

Great job KA. You've hit another one out of the park.

I love this book! Another stellar book written by the Rock Chick Goddess! Steamy, romantic, heartstrings pulled, funny, sexy alpha males.... the list just keeps going on and on. If you have read any of her books, you will love! If you haven’t read any of her books, what the hell are you waiting on?! Just to say she is a freaking wizard. I’m spellbound every time I get one of her books.

KA for giving us another great read and love story. Now I'm going to thank you for giving us characters like Deanna and Charley. Shirleeene in Rock Chicks, Elvira in who appears throughout many books and nose of my favorite books which I have reread many times Ty Walker in Lady Luck. " Thank you for being you."

Kristen Ashley draws you into her world and you don't want it to end. Be it the Burg, Denver or the Mountains and now the South you can't go wrong in choosing her. I highly recommend this book but truly you can't go wrong with anything written by Kristen Ashley.

This book took me by suprise. The first few pages I didn’t like Eliza- at all but then it started getting good then better.
KA has the ability to take multiple characters and blend them so well you don’t realize how many there are but she works it.
I just hope we will get to read Tobey and Addie’s story!

KA does it again. I’m seriously convinced no one does family drama quite like her. I loved Johnny, no matter how closed off he was he fell head over heels. Iz was the perfect girl to cute him and Johnny was a perfect man to give her what she deserved.

I can’t wait for more from this series.

What I have loved most about Kristen Ashley's books over the years is the combination of interesting, well-rounded characters, humor, great plots, and window-steaming passion. The Rock Chicks were all interesting because they each had their strengths and weaknesses -- headstrong in some cases, insecure in others. Both 'Complicated' and 'The Hookup' feature heroines who are so perfect they are caricatures. I thought Greta from the former book was over the top, but Izzy takes the cake. She can turn $4 chairs into show-stopping decor, can find a picnic basket for $.25 and spend $.05 cents on fabric to turn it into something worthy for an elegant afternoon. She is a whiz at her data-management job, knows her way around household renovations and farm animals and at one point even has a little bird sitting on her shoulder as she cooks breakfast. Bwaaahaaahaa! Shades of Snow White singing to the little blue bird. Izzy has no flaws. She happily gets up at 5:30 a.m. every morning to deal with the horses. She uses her spare time to improve her house, plant strawberries, and make plans for a chicken coop all while working a full time job and dealing with a commute; all while looking adorable. When her sister and nephew move in unannounced, Izzy is fully prepared to support them and change her life to care for them. It's hard to relate to a female lead who makes Mother Teresa look like a slacker.

At least the hero in 'Complicated' started out by behaving like a jerk. He quickly redeemed himself, and spent the rest of the book being Mr. Wonderful. Johnny gets to be perfect the whole book. He treats Izzy respectfully the morning after their hook-up, he explains honestly why he feels he is not good enough for her since he is damaged goods and within two weeks they are a couple. Johnny is suddenly a whole man in about three weeks and ready to make a life-long commitment three weeks later. Izzy is not insecure or jealous of his first love who returns to town. Johnny's only potential flaw is that he is a multi-millionaire. Ha! Izzy has had bad luck with rich dudes, including her father and ex-boyfriend, so is leery of men with money. She gets over it quickly and takes to Louboutins and other luxuries like a duck to water.

I am not a fan of artificial dramas or tropes, but there has to be something of a plot. The first instance of action happens around 80% and is resolved in a few hours.

There are some great secondary characters, who are actually more interesting than the leads. For me, that's what made this a three star instead of two star book. So, an okay quick read, but not one I would look forward to reading again.

I've seen this book recommended SO many times but never really thought I'd like it. I was proven utterly wrong. Ms. Ashley's writing is wonderful and pulls on your emotuons in a way that gets you invested in this story before you can even register that YOU ARE Invested in how this story will turn out. In regards to the plot itself, I'm glad Ms. Ashley doesn't draw out drama over Johnny's ex for too long, and comes up with creative alternatives to keep the story flowing. I only wish this book were longer so that we could get even more of Eliza and Johnny's story.

Loved it... just thought it could be a little bit longer. I figured that her ex would show up to cause a scene... but it's a series so we may see that. But I absolutely adored Johnny and Izzy <3 and I can't wait to read more in this series! Loved reading Johnny 's POV

Johnny Gamble is THE BEST hero Kristen Ashley has written in quite some time! Absolutely LOVE Johnny and Izzy's story! I couldn't quite put my finger on what's been missing, but it's BACK! She's back! It was glorious and I gobbled it up! Don't miss this one!

I loved this book. Another winner from Kristen Ashley. From the very first page to the last it really hooked me up. She really can write!! KA describes her characters so extensively that you can just picture them in your mind. She describes the scenario so perfect it’s like seeing a movie.
Awesome. I rate this book 5+++ and really recommend it.

Another great new series from KA. Izzy and Johnny have some substantial trust issues because of things in their past. There are some steamy scenes. The secondary characters are very likeable and add a lot to the storyline. This is a sweet romance.

Seriously, no words. Adventurous, loving and intelligent. I never thought I'd say this about a story that starts with a hot one night stand but I'll say it again: Adventurous, loving and intelligent. And sexy. Lets not forget about the sexy.

As usual, Kirsten Ashley, knocks it out of the park. I swear NO ONE writes the alpha male like her. Also her sex/love scenes-god-they take my breath away, like you are in his arms... I can reread every single book and still get swept away.... favorite author hands down! I can hardly wait for the next!

I adored this book! A sweet romantic story. A love I wish I had! Would have liked the ending to have been a little longer, though. Didn’t feel the story ending got what it deserved. Hope it will continue in the next book of the series.

Not expecting I would be impressed but this book it was wonderful in such an endearing way. It had all the feels. Johnny was the perfect book boyfriend alpha, sweet, confident,
and Eliza had an innocence about her that was so genuine. I am so glad I read this book. One of the best I read in 2017.

Loved the story, loved how Johnny though a little broken was a strong enough man to be able to let the past go and go after Izzy someone who hadn't had enough happy in her life but still lived like she did. Loved their journey!
