I enjoyed the characters. Reminded me of "Sons of Anarchy" with a bit of a twist. Not to far off point with real 1% MC's. Each character in the book had a needy feel, most with troubled past's not unlike real life MC clubs

First - did anyone notice the cover picture is backward?

This is NOT a romantic version of Sons of Anarchy.

The author's imagination is pretty...boring. This motorcycle gang comes across as lame. The language - which I know some have called foul - is tame by modern standards of foul. Maybe 15 or 20 years ago, it would be viewed differently.

The lead couple have essentially the same type of sex every time--so it gets boring after the second or third occurrence. I wouldn't date this guy if that's all he could come up with.

When one woman in the story finds out her husband has not just been cheating on her, but has had a mistress on the side for decades, and had a son with her, she argues with him--and he hits her. What happens? She stays. Yecchhh.

From a book lover's point of view, I think the worst part is that it all reads like a list. He did this. She did that. She said this. She said that. There's no flow. There are some grammatical errors, and some punctuation missteps, but it was the bland, boring, writing that really was ... hard to take.

I did get all the way through the first book, but I won't read the rest. The second book is about a character who was essentially unlikeable in the first book.

I really like MC books, however, this series was not to my taste. First of all it is taking place in Australia with a slang language that was difficult to follow. I really did not think that their was any depth to the stories. I like some hot an stemy sex scenes but these not so much. The language between the lovers was just foul. I have no idea how anyone could get turned on with how they talked about having sex. I will probably not follow this author again....just not my cup of tea.
Knox's Stand (The Last Riders Book 3) :: Cash's Fight (The Last Riders) (Volume 5) :: Shade (The Last Riders Book 6) :: Tied (Devils Wolves Book 2) :: Stand Off (Predators MC Book 2)

Book 1: J (Jason) and Madison are the first couple. Growing up in an MC family, you'd think Madison would be tougher. She seems weak to me, brings her own drama and it takes years for her and J to finally get back together. Add in her sketchy father (lying cheating pos), a mom who allowed it to happen (and seems A-ok with it) and I guess we can see why Madison is screwed up.
Book 2: Scott (Madisons brother) and Harlow. By far, the best of the 4 in this box set. Scott's the VP of the club and has no time for a relationship. Throw in Harlow (a woman who was treated badly by her ex and her bf) and right away sparks fly between them. I smiled through most of their chapters.
Book 3: more of J and Madisons story. Totally unnecessary. At least we got to delve a bit further into other members of the club.
Book 4: Nash and Velvet. While he was likable from Book 1, her character took longer to grow on me. (She also struck me as whiney like Madison but thankfully her character evened out quicker) Nash was fighting demons from his past (alcoholism, a dead child, a cheating ex wife) and Velvet had a pos EX, these two took their sweet time to finally come together.
Can't wait to read about Madison & Scott's half brother Blade and the rest of the Storm MC.
