I love This authors books.. Just not this one.
Took a long time to draw the reader in. Boring.. When it finally got to its peak point in the story, I was ready for the story to be over. Seems like this story line is old.. Meaning various forms by other authors. I just couldn't get into it. The story teller droning on from its diary was both boring & annoying. Distracting from the story line.

I really enjoyed this book and looking forward to reading the second in the series. The only problem was I am a little obssessive/complusive with grammar and there were several misspelled words like fund for found and several missed prepositions.
Floor Four :: Bad Girls Don't Die (Bad Girls Don't Die Novels) :: The Amityville Horror :: Sex and Gore - Sick B*stards - A Novel of Extreme Horror :: Thriller short story collection about Demons

Jeremiah Carter accused the wrong man of killing his daughter. He was burned to death. A covenant was made to stop Copper Tibet from claiming his revenge from the grave. The town council was the keeper of the covenant. More children came up missing. Debbie an Alan were determined to find the truth. Read in one sitting. Can't wait to read more from Nasser.

This is a very good story. The author took great care to weave this tale of missing children, and their families, who the town counsel chooses to be made sacrifices for the son of the fathers. Be careful not to disturb the dead, for they may not really be dead. This is a good story with great characters that will keep you guessing.

A surrealistic novel with unrealistic characters. The story plays out like a young teens movie film and perhaps Nasser could make a fortune by going down the road of 'could your novel become a movie?'
The story is based, as usual in these American novels, on 'the settlers curse' in a town founded around the year 1826. An 'innocent' man is convicted of murder and without true justice a lynch mob of town's people hang and burn the man to death. In the throes of death he screams out that he is innocent and will return to punish the town and its future inhabitants in consequence of his horrific death. He becomes a monster who for eternity will take away innocent children from the town thus conceding to the very crime for which he has been convicted.
A solidarity group whose descendants perpetrated the death of the man now have to keep this evil monster in check by fulfilling his desires in order to prevent him from causing further grief to the town and its people. Their actions are despicable but to their dismay Alan Carter the main character whose family once lived in the town, after many years away, returns, determined to find out what is going on and to discover why his sister disappeared in such unbelievable circumstances.
The reason for giving only two stars rests on various facts. Firstly there are numerous typo errors and the author needs to employ a competent editor. Character description is weak and not fully expanded I.e. the reader needs to know more about Copper's background so that there is a reasonable understanding of his possible guilt in the crime he has been accused of. There does not seem to be an on going balance between 'good' and 'evil' which is necessary in this genre.
Further more the writer has not given the reader a satisfactory conclusion to his first book and has instead blurred and confused the ending by launching into the first chapter of the next book in the series.
Charles Dickens always satisfied his readers with a plausible ending to each episode yet left them craving for more in his next chapter. The author would do well to take note of this method instead of revealing a disconnected and confusing on going plot as a ploy to bribe the reader into buying his/her next book.

Although, the story starts of slow, the characters are developed perfectly, The scary parts of the story are definitely scary and I really enjoyed how the author provides us a little bit of history at the start of each chapter and how they correlated with the present.
Will definitely read the next book to find out more about what happens to the characters.
