Another action-packed and entertaining book in the "in-death" series. I read "Naked In Death" just a couple months ago when I bought my new Kindle and was hooked. I finished reading all the rest of the "in-death" books since then and had been waiting for this book. Eve has really found herself through this series and is now so much more confident dealing with her personal realationships. I absolutely adore Roarke and found it really amusing to see his hesitation in leading a meeting of the cop team in Eve's absence. He will always be the "bad" guy. I also enjoyed the interaction between Webster, Darcia, Roarke, and Eve. I think it was a nice romantic angle to the story. All in all - another smashing success. Can't wait for "From New York to Dallas".

Treachery in Death was one of my favorite of the "In Death" series. It was intriguing till the end, I had to finish the book before I could get anything done. Treachery was a really good read, I enjoyed it enough to want to read it again. Good story, great book!!

This was a little different, as it showed you whom the killers were from the start. I enjoy all of the "In death" series. I like the suspense of find out later in the book, but this was good because of the things it took to finally capture them.
Ceremony in Death (In Death Series) - Immortal in Death :: Innocent In Death (In Death, Book 24) :: Betrayal in Death (In Death, Book 12) :: Witness in Death (In Death Series) - Conspiracy in Death :: Belzhar

Counting the half-dozen novellas, this is #40 in one of my all time favorite series, the slightly futuristic police procedural starring Lt. Eve Dallas (the In Death books).
It amazes me that JD Robb (aka Nora Roberts) manages to keep this series so fresh.
This time, she concentrates on Dallas in her role as leader of men, not so much the indiviual super cop. It's a mirror image: Lt. Dallas and her team of Good Cops -vs- Lt. Oberman and her team of Bad Cops. There's no question which team will win, but along the way, you'll enjoy taut drama, some good laughs, a little romance, and maybe shed a few tears. (I always do).

I still think this a great series. Still really enjoying the characters and the cases are fresh, not rehashing or repeating old story lines.
I thought in this one we actually get to finally see some long needed character growth though. We see Eve taking a definite more management role that shows what she could eventually be like as a captain. We also see Peabody be the official lead on her first case. We get to see how both characters have changed over the course of the series. While we have seen bits and pieces of these changes before. Here they are more evident and you can really see where these characters may end up in future stories.

Another one of Nora Roberts excellent works. I prefer to have to guess until the end of a book who done it as they say, but it's interesting how the heroine goes about getting the bad guy. I have read every one of the J.D. Robb "Death" series and she rarely disappoints.

Let me make this clear! I have NO complaints about the book, the Kindle or the store. I am however very upset about the price. Almost $13 for an ELECTRONIC edition. Absolutely no hard copy related costs, so why the high price? I am embracing the Kindle as my future for reading books, unless the publishers continue to force eReader users to foot the bill for poor hardback or paperback sales. Shame on them.
Now on to the book: Is Nora setting Eve up for a promotion? A lot of talk about rank and it's responsibilities. Great story line and flowed smoothly. Since I got the Kindle version I took it everywhere to read!

Murder... Intrigue... suspense... thriller... and, yes, treachery... all combine in J.D. Robb's latest thriller, Treachery in Death.
Peabody overhears a conversation between two cops that could change her life, most likely ending it, forever.
Dallas and Peabody, and all of the usual suspects, take on the quest of proving a highly-decorated and highly-respected former commander's daughter guilty of corruption, drug-dealing, and most of all, murder - both civilian and cops.
The game of cat and mouse between the two female lieutenants Oberman and Dallas, plays well along with Delia leading the investigation and finding more dirty cops and more murder. The usual crew of Roarke, Feeney, McNab, Commander Whitney, Dr. Mira, Mavis, etc. are all along for the ride.
Truly one of my favorite books in a while.

J.D. Robb (Nora Roberts) is "A Wonder" This woman has written so many books and yet she never gets stale. Her plots are great and Her descriptions of the characters make you feel as if you know exactly what they look like and what kind of people they are. All I can say is, way to go Nora Roberts.

I always enjoy Robb's Eve Dallas 'Death' series. Robb does a great job in character description, making them believable and real. Her use of humor in the midst of mayhem and murder gives the reader a break. Always a good read.
