Great book! As always I can't seem to have enough. Though to my opinion chapter 11 came too quickly . When I finished reading this book I felt like something is missing in the plot. I wish the book was longer so I didn't feel like I only read half a book.

I prefer more story. In length, character development, etc. i don't like having to purchase other novels to continue the story. This is a sort novella standalone and if you like vampire stories you'll like this one. Good short read.

I loved it. Great read. Frost is a wonderful writer and it was just what I needed to hold me over until the next Cat and Bones book comes out. Favorite quote by Isa to Chance ""Do you know what I'm going to do, first thing tomorrow?" ... "I'm going to call every man I've ever had sex with...and demand an apology."
Chained by Night (The Moonbound Clan Vampires Book 2) :: Home for the Holidays: Night Huntress, Book 6.5 :: Wicked Abyss (Immortals After Dark Book 17) :: Last Kiss Goodnight: An Otherworld Assassin Novel :: Into the Fire: A Night Prince Novel

I love Jeaniene Frost books, however I did not realize it was a short story book of multiple books where they have you read three chapters and your hooked into the story and it ends and moves on the the next story.I do not like that I can not read the whole story and then I'll have to go back find the tittle of each story just to go back into the store book store to rebuy the rest of the store.

Set in the world of her Night Huntress series, this story was originally published in the Weddings from Hell anthology (this review is reincarnated and slightly revamped from my review of that book).
Happily Never After is not a Cat and Bones short, although it has several brief pop-ins by Bones, but do not let that stop you. The hero, vampire Chance, is one of Bone's compadres, and is an almost as luscious. As a favor to his sire Bones, Chance steps in to save the lovely Isabella from a coerced marriage to a would-be B-movie type mafia boss and Chance finds himself attracted to her with an intensity he's never felt before in his very long life. Isabella and Chance are every bit as good as Bones and Cat, Frost does great heroes and competent intelligent heroines well. This was fun addition to the Night Huntress world, but I did have one nit - trying to pull Bones into the story felt forced and a bit hokey to me - I think that Chance could have managed nicely on his own.

Happily Never After is an ebook novella Jeaniene Frost wrote to go with her Night Huntress series. It originally appeared in the anthology, Weddings from Hell. There is some contradictory information on the internet about where in the series it goes, but according to Frost's website it should go after the 2nd book, One Foot in the Grave.
In this book, we take a break from Cat and Bones, although Bones is in a few scenes he is not the main event. Bones's old human friend, Greta, asks Bones for help with her grandchildren. Frazier has gotten in over his head with a local crime lord and has gone missing, while Isabella is being black-mailed into marrying that crime lord, Robert, to keep her brother safe. Bones doesn't have time to take care of the matter himself, but asks one of the vampires he's sired, Chance, to do the honors.
Chance is just supposed to use some green-eyed magic and make Robert no longer want to marry Isa, but he thinks Robert needs a little punishment instead. That could just be a side-effect that Chance is already falling for Isabella and he feels a connection between them, but does she feel it too?
I really wasn't sure I'd like this book since it didn't center around Bones and Cat, but I did truly enjoy this one and now I only hope to see glimpses of Chance in the future books.
I already liked Chance, but then with two little words he completely raised my view of him. It had been a long time since I've laughed that hard at a book and I thought I was going to die laughing. Even hours later, I could think of it and still chuckle about it. What were the two words? Turbo Vagisil. It was the last thing that I expected to come out of his mouth and it cracked me up! Of course, you have to understand what happened earlier in the book for it to make sense.
"You're a beautiful young woman walking without an escort at one in the morning. Why doesn't one of your staff at least see you to your car?"
"Because they're not sexist pigs who think women are incapable of taking care of themselves."
Chance rolled his eyes. "This has nothing to do with feminism. I'm all for gender equality, but the fact remains that women are targeted for more specific crimes than men, and the perpetrators of those crimes often look for circumstances such as these to attack."
"See this?" Isa pulled something dark and oblong out of her purse. Chance's mouth twitched.
"Turbo Vagisil?"
"No, It's a taser!" Isa said indignantly. "I can take care of myself, Chance. I've been doing that just fine for the past twenty-nine and a half years before you showed up, remember?"
I really enjoyed Chance and his humor although when he was talking he sometimes sounded like Bones, especially when calling people `luv'. Unfortunately, I did find Isabelle to be a bit on the bland side, but not enough to make me not like the story. Chance is definitely the outgoing fun one of the relationship! And, I loved the getaway that Bones set up for the couple at the end of the book.
I know a lot of people that will skip the short stories when reading a series; I used to be one of those people. But this is a fun quick novella that you don't want to miss!

I was a little confused when this story started about who Chance was, but I loved him soon enought. Isabella was a refreshing girl and a very brave one too, she accepted a marriage to a mob boss just to save her brother. I didn’t liked the way her brother treated her when all she did was save his ass, but that’s another thing. Also was nice seeing Bones again, without Cat he’s different, more dangerous, but I like this side of him.
Chance showed how vampires can truly chose the way to life after life and he was charming and almost too good to be true. He treated Isabella like a princess and was all about saving her honor. I really liked this novella.

This was a good story, complete on its own. Isa and her brother are in trouble with the mob and vampire Chance gets involved as a favor to Bones. You'll have to read the story to see how Bones got involved in the first place.
I would have liked this story better if it would have had something to do with the Night Huntress series. Bones makes a short appearance, but other than that it really was an independent story from the rest of the series. This story took place during the four years Cat and Bones were apart (between books one and two), so it would have been fun to see what one of them was doing with their time.

This was a fun, exciting read in between the full length Night Huntress universe novels. The dialogue and writing were as expected from Miss Frost, smooth with just enough description. The characters were good, of course there's the insta-love and less depth novellas necessitate. All in all, a nice, quick adventure.

This novella introduces new characters and the story takes place in a different part of the country from where the main series is set. Bones is only in the beginning of the book and all he does is introduce the vampire Chance to handle the situation because Bones is in the middle of searching for someone. If you've read Halfway to the Grave, you know who he's searching for J
Jeaniene Frost is an excellent storyteller so you can't go wrong with this novella.

This is another fantastic book from Ms. Frost, just enough to hold you over until the next Cat and Bones book comes out. It's short, but really draws you in. If you're already a fan or have never read one of her books you'll still love it.
