Keep this one quiet but this book is not just for kids. Its a wonderful adventure that will keep you glued till your finished. Full of action and suspense. The charaters are well developed. My advise: hide it from the kids until
your finished.

Redwall just continues to be a fun place to visit. Mariel is a fun portrayal of both a female and male who discover the warrior within them. B. Jacques has created a refreshing world where good is good, and evil is abhorrent. With multiple threads running through this tapestry, there are many nights of late-night reading to be anticipated!

in this book like almost all of his other books, jacques used a few different plots and storylines. i think that makes his books alot more interesting. i love the way all of his books mesh together perfectly. all in all, Read This Book!

In "Mariel of Redwall" a crazy, insomnia suffering warlord named Gabool the Wild throws Mariel into the water. She washes up on the shore and goes to Redwall. She and some friends go off to fight Gabool. There are lots of characters (again). There are two awesome characters as well: Cockleburr and Tarquin. Any fan of the series should read this one. There are plenty of fights and feasts and many nuances in the plot. Also, the great Dibbun twins Bagg and Runn and their good friend Grubb make their first appearence. If you are reading something now, Mariel is a nice book to read when you finish!

This was the story of a young mouse named Mariel who set off(with 3 adventurous friends)to find her father and get revenge on the evil searat:Gabool the Wild. It is a grand adventure that I loved reading. The characters are filled with humor, wit, and courage. Yet Brian Jacques couldn't have created a character more evil than Gabool and his ruthless searats. This is a book I recomend to any fantasy lovers or lovers of the Redwall series. All I can say is:BUY IT AND ENJOY IT!!!

Mariel "storm" and her gullwacker find themselves washed up on a shore with no memary. Found by Redwall creatures Mariel only has one purpose to live; to kill Gabool the wild and to get her father back.

This is a good book to read on the beach. It is very well written but doesn't have the good adeventure of Salamdastrom, Martin the Warrior and Mossflower. It is a good book otherwise. So go out and buy it today.

Mariel, separated from her father after being thrown off Periwinkle, a ship, is left with a knotted rope and no sense of herself. Gabool, a wicked searat, terrorizer of the seas, was the one who did this, and thought her to be dead. The book shifts back and forth from different scenes, like Gabool in his castle on Terramort, to Salamandstron and the badger lord Rawnblade, the places of Gabool's several ships, and Redwall Abbey. This book is full of great adventure and excitement and will be a joy for whoever reads it.

This book began with a really sweet beginning, all dramatic and cool, but it just kept getting more and more boring as things went on. The sequel to this book is awesome though, so I still highly reccomend this book!

"Mariel of Redwall" shines out: a positive gem of wit, tragedy, and bravery. The written word moves from the pages to the heart, and can be clearly seen in every nuance from the mind's eye with Brian Jacques's excellent descriptive element. From joy to tears, and back again, this book is an intense tale, enjoyable to it fullest.

Mariel of Redwall was not the best of the redwall books, I never liked searats when they are out at sea, they are ok when on land, which does happen in some parts of this book. I love how Brian Jacques adds in the small details such as the great feasts to the little snacks. This is a good book, but i just dont like searats too much. But that is only what i think you need to read it to find out for your self what yo think.

This book wasn't worth all the hype given from all the other onliners. The main character was a female mouse, a total grade school type of theme. If the characters werent' mice, I would have gave this book 4 stars. I mean, who can relate to and understand a pack of mice without the author's help?

I really like this book. It is rich in details and has many good characters. My favorite is Mariel of course. If you don't read this book, then your going to miss out on a very good book. But that is your loss.

Mariel of Redwall is one of the best of the 14 Redwall books created by Brian Jaques (though of course all of his books are wonderful). it has a great story filled with excitement, thoughtful riddles, and even a bit of love. The book has vivid descriptions of all the exciting events, characters, and places, and is a great addition to the Redwall series. So i give this book a 5 star rating.

I highly reccomend this book to anyone who liked the other three books. This is another one of those "can't put down until finished" kind of books. When I first heard of the seires I thought, "oh, another one of those animal book things." I was wrong. All of the books are amazing. Now all my friends are reading them. I am currently on the 5th book, Salamandastron. All of these books are awesome. Read 'em!

A mousemaid,Mariel, and her father, Joseph the Bellmaker, are seperated by Gabool the Wild, King of the Searats. Gabool threw Mariel into the sea in hopes of drowning her, because Joseph would not tell Gabool what the drawings around the bell meant. Mariel is washed ashore near the Redwall Abbey. She has lost her memory and called herself Mariel Gullwacker. After she gains her memory she leaves Redwall Abbey on a misson, to kill Gabool

This actually isn't a review, it's more of a complaint! Kirkus reviews has it all wrong!!!!!! Number one, Dandin is the decendant of Gonff the mousethief, not Martin the warrior! Number two, neither Mariel or her friends kill Gabool! A scorpion does. Number three, Mariel and Dandin do NOT get married, they simply stay good friends for the whole book, and The Bellmaker too. I hope this has cleared up a few things.

This book is about a warrior mouse maid that overcomes all of her obsticals and proves that friendship is not only needed but sometimes you need it to survive. I liked this book because it was about animals that go on a quest and prove that justice always wins over evil. Because of this moral, I loved this book. I would also reccomend any other redwall series book!

Mariel Of Redwall is definently the best Redwall book in the series! I have only read five others, but all my friends agree with me!!! If you are looking for a good book to read, with breath-taking moments and non-stop action, get this book!!! And if you have already read it, try one of the sequils to it, The Bellmaker or Martin The Warrior. Have fun!!!

I loved this book, MAriel was cool with her gullwhaker, and it was a great story, but my favorate charicter was Rosie! Why does no one mention her? She was by far my favorite charicter! She was a hare and boy was she funny! I loved her, she made the book for me. I cried when I thought she was dead! Thank you Brian Jaques for bringing her in and keeping her alive!

This book is okay, but not as good as the others. The beginning is very boring. I don't like Gabool. He gets very crazy and boring. The first parts were boring but the ending battle is much better. I have read all of the books out so far and this one is my least favorite out of them. The Bellmker is good for a sequel. I don't like seafaring books much. The only seafaring book I do like is Pearls of Lutra. All in all this book is not one of the best.

Mariel of Redwall is a door, in which the reader gets swept into until real life reflects this book.It is a good vs. evil story, and yet it has a little of everything. Brian Jaques makes the story real, because things always don't turn out as they might have had this been a regular book.

I think this book is awesome! The description is great and you can imagine what is going on thorughout the whole book. I like the characters and you distinguish the bad from the good very well making the bad very bad and the nice very nice. Keep writing!

Which Lead Me To Other Redwall Stories. I liked this book because of the personalities of the characters, especiallly a mouse named Dandin. This book is both funny and sad, and I will continue to follow these books as they come out.

By now everyone can predict these things about redwall: 1-There have to be about 500 different charactersof 8 anny\oying species2- Every 20 pages there is another walleper due feast (woopee doo,it's cake) 3- 1 of the 500 different annoying characters will die. 4- The vermin leaders always seem to be brave, togh, cunning, and good fighters until they meet with the main character then they get so scared they just have to fall into pits and stuff 5- There always have tobe some kind of mini war going that pit vermin agasit vermin and the vermin that's first mention in the book always seem to win. 6- Somehow a bunch of mice can always beat up well trained warriors 7 it's not about the numbers, it's a bout heart and determination, so even

I have read most of the Redwall books and loved them all. But, this was probably the worst. It was fairly boring and a little bit too repetitive. It lacked action compared to the others, but it still is worth reading.
