I really enjoyed reading the second story in the ARES Security series. Lucas St. Clair, former diplomat and wealthy businessman, founded the ARES Security company with other men who shared similar war time experiences and whom he considers friends. One day he learns that his former lover, Mia Ramon, is in trouble and he rushes from Houston to Baton Rouge to protect her from the danger. Together they become partners in solving a friend's murder and the mystery surrounding Mia's father's property.

This was an enjoyable romantic suspense filled with plenty of action! I received an ARC from the publisher and NetGalley; all opinions are my own.

This is an ARES security book featuring brothers in arms that returned from combat to form a security company. This Tale is about Lucas who having left his prestigious family and love behind is reconnected with Mia when a fellow former classmate is murdered. They must work together to find the murderer before Mia is hurt and to rekindle their lost love. This was the first book I had read by this author and enjoyed it so much that I went out and bought the first book in this series to catch up . Looking forward to the next books to read the rest of the guy's stories.

Interesting romantic suspense featuring Mia, the gardener’s daughter and Lucas, the senator’s son. Both have dysfunctional families. The big mystery is a missing husband, 2 million dollars of embezzled pension funds and why someone wants Mia dead.

Ares Security is a group of vets who band together to escape an Afghan prison and upon returning to civilian life form a highly specialized security firm. In the second book of this series Lucas discovers that Mia’s life is in danger. Everyone (except Rafe from Book 1 Kill Without Mercy and is on his honeymoon) band together to solve the mystery, catch the bad guy and live to continue to hunt for the evil that is stalking the team. There was a nice secondary romance between Mia’s BFF Taylor and Detective Cooper.

Read the highly recommended, wonderfully written story line full of mystery and romance, and a must read love story of Lucas and Mia.

Ivy's ARES Security series returns Lucas and Mia's story. Rich kid Lucas loved "wrong side of the tracks" Mia. When his parents disapproved, he gave her up to pursue their dreams for him in politics. After a few years, he enlists in the military. Now, after being captured and held by the Taliban, he and four of his fellow survivors for the elite ARES Security firm. Discovering that his former love, Mia, is in danger, he jumps into action. Thus begins the journey and mystery of these protagonists finding their way back to each other, while keeping each other alive.

Book two in the Ares Security series is predictable but fun. This time it is Lucas St. Clair who gets a call from the past. Someone is trying to kill Mia Ramon, the girl he walked away from 15 years ago. There are the usual twists and turns as well as a mystery to be solved. I admit I knew why the land Mia inherited from her Father was so important. Even guessing it was fun to see that I was right. Both Lucas and Mia are great characters. Mia is very strong, Lucas is very protective and sparks flew between the two for the entire book. Trust is a very important issue in the story line and I liked how it took time for it to be re-devolpe. A nice second addition in the story of five brothers by choice instead of by blood.

I have been counting down the days waiting on this book. Ms. Ivy has always been on my favorite authors list and I loved her paranormal series. This new series about five ex-POWs starting a security firm while also finding women they can love is just perfect. I've really liked all the characters that have been introduced so far, so I really don't think there will be a bad book in this series at all. My only problem is I have to wait for each book; It's sooo long between them (not really, but it feels like it).

Lucas and Mia were high school sweethearts until he left her behind to join the military. Now years later Mia owns a successful business and is in danger. Lucas comes back to save her and finally admit he made a huge mistake in leaving. I love how Mia didn't let him run all over her. Great little side romance with the detective and her best friend. Loved seeing the rest of the ARES boys again. Now who's next Teagan or Max cause we all know Hauk is going to have to wait till last.

Highly recommend this book! It is such an interesting and suspenseful book with all the right amounts of sexy romance. When a book makes you go back and reread a sentence, afraid you missed a word, it's a success with me! I didn't want to miss a work in this dramatic book that had me on the edge of my seat the entire time. Loved the ARES Security men and most definitely Lucas St. Clair! He and Mia were an awesome couple I rooted for from the get go!

Can't wait for the next book!

This is a gripping tale of drama, secrets, mystery, love and amusement. The storyline is intriguing and all the characters interesting and some are amusing. Lucas is intense, loyal, stubborn and very cocky. Mia is strong, stubborn and vulnerable. It's a brilliant story and should be added to your TBR list.

Lucas is a complete alpha male, "Lucas followed behind her, putting away his gun before taking a seat. “I’ll do whatever’s necessary to protect you,” he said without apology." I love a man whose cocky, and Lucas is really cocky, “oh, it’s gonna happen,” he insisted, trailing his tongue up the curve of her neck." I really enjoyed this book, Mia knew how to give Lucas hell and vice versa.

I received this ARC for an unbiased review. Even though it wasn't my favorite by Alexandra Ivy, I still enjoyed it. She lets you know who is the killer, but the hard part is finding the evidence. This book us about unraveling the clues. Ivy is well known for her sex scenes, and she still knows how to write one. If you like a different twist on a mystery novel, you will like this book.

I really enjoyed this book featuring Lucas, one of the members of ARES Security. The ARES team are more like brothers than coworkers so when Lucas finds out that an old girlfriend of his, Mia, is in danger the team mobilizes. Mia can't imagine why she is the target of an assassin but she plans to find out. Great mystery, suspense, and of course, lots of romance!

I really like this book, I loved the characters Mia and Lucas. The story was really well written. The only issue I had was the fact that it kind of stopped in a couple of areas for me, but that might have been me and not the story itself. But I would highly recommend the author and story to people.

The second book in the Ares Security series by Alexandra Ivy delivers her usual suspense and romance elements. I love the reunited lovers trope and when high school sweethearts Mia and Lucas come back together, it's hot. The underlying issue with Mia's father's land was sort of predictable, but I don't read Ms. Ivy's books for the suspense, I read for the romance part. Overall, a fun read and I'm looking forward to the third book in the series.

I had read the first in this series, "Kill Without Mercy" and enjoyed it enough to order "Kill Without Shame." I had a little more difficulty keeping track of characters in this second volume, but it was also full of action and easy to read.

As a romantic thriller it is predictable. Hero saves the day, heroine is strong minded and stubborn, hero's friends are skilled ex-military who know the underworld and how to take a fight to the streets.

It's not a bad story, just a general repeat of all I've read lately. An okay read for a rainy afternoon.

Author Alexandra Ivy delivers an awesome second-chance romance, in her 2nd ARES Security release. We get glances of the other ARES' men and this reader can't wait for their stories to be delivered.

Side Note: I hope to get a more developed story featuring Taylor and Brian.
