I enjoyed this story a lot. Great writing, kept me interested from beginning to the end. Enjoyed the authors take on mental powers and his matter-of-fact story style. Recommend this read...ready to start the next one. az

I have no problems with overpowered protagonists. None whatsoever. Nor do I have a problem with the bad guys being decimated very easily. This book was a fun and entertaining read, marred only by the incomprehensible ending. Ultimately, the author can write what he likes.

Very enjoyable book. Like others, I didn’t like the ending, not because it didn’t make sense, because it does, (except for the planet being empty). I didn’t like the finality of the ending. I am looking forward to the next book in the series.
Hand of Mars (Starship's Mage Book 2) :: Supercarrier: The Ixan Prophecies Trilogy Book 1 :: Q-Ship Chameleon (Castle Federation Book 4) :: Suicide Run (Smuggler's Tales From the Golden Age of the Solar Clipper Book 2) :: Terra and Imperium (Duchy of Terra) (Volume 3)

Good story. Likable characters. Smart blend of magic and science. The only criticism I have and it's minor, is that Thorn felt a little too powerful. So much so, that you never really felt like he and his crew was in any danger. That said, it was a good read, characters were well developed, I'm looking forward to book 2.

I wasn't expecting much when I downloaded this book from the store unlimited but it turned into a real gem. It was fast paced and an easy read with little errors. Definitely a teen/young adult book but very good. I've already downloaded the second book. Loved the characters and the story line both. Wasn't crazy about the ending but it did make sense.

The idea was nice, but the book is impossibly dry, ridden with grammatical errors, and full of redundancies and unnecessary information.
(At least, the first seven chapters are, I couldn't get past that.)

First no spoilers.
This book did some strang twists. I thought I knew were it was going after that first big jump, then shifted gears left me scratching my head. I really wonder were it will go in the next book.

Somewhat familiar tropes. Underdeveloped characters. Uncompelling premise. Unconvincing dialogue. I just never cared for anyone in the story. Luck to Mr. Ellis and his writing career. I did manage to slog through the whole thing.

The beginning of the book felt rushed, but then settled into a more comfortable pace. The middle of the book was well written and I really liked where the story was going. Then came one of the worst endings ever. It didn't fit the story, and left me feeling angry. If you like being strung along and then cheated in the end read this book.

Interesting story, but it would be better if the main character actually had a challenge to overcome. His good like powers basically removed all the thrill. No need to outsmart or outpreform, success is just a thought away.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I wish the pace was a little slower and hoped the author would expand a bit more detail on some of the ideas introduced. That said, I look forward to reading the next. I had no issue with the ending.

Loved the hunter series, and this was close enough to be familiar while being it's own story. Would've loved to see more but the ending took care of that pretty well, although it felt kinda abrupt to me. Other than that loved it.

In the first few pages the main character talks about how he had to “force punch” a guy that hit on him. Way to perpetuate the negative stereotype that gay men are sexual predators. I stopped reading there and I advise you not to pick it up at all.
