Great content, but I wish the flaps were a little more sturdy. My 15 month old tears them right off before I even have the page all the way turned. lol She loves cows and the front of this book makes her smile.

My daughter loves this book! It is very colorful, and has large pictures of various farm animals. Each animal has a mouth that is a flap. Once the child lifts the flap, the noise the animal makes is written! Very cute, and a favorite of my toddler!

I liked the text that encourages the reader (or listener) to guess the rhyming animal sound. For example, "Do duck's cluck? Do ducks clack? All I know is ducks go..... Then the child opens the flap covering the animal's mouth to expose the enside of the mouth and the letters spelling the sound QUACK!

Some children may like this book more than my granddaughter did. She and I preferred. "Open the Barn Door" by Christopher Santoro. This book starts with the sound and asks the child to tell you which animal makes the sound.

Of course, in most cases animals do not make sounds that even vaguely resemble the sounds that that we say they make, but that is a different story.

For children aged 2-4, I suggest going to a barnyard to listen to the actual sounds of animals which you and your child can then compare to the ones you've read about. Who is right? The animal or the book?

Bought this and several other pop up type books for my grandson for Christmas and he loves it! He's under two and loves books and this one is perfect. Keeps his attention as we have read it front to back several times!

Love the words, art, and final "wrap-up" page -- great for teaching babies / younger kids animal noises and my 14 month old loves it!

However, this edition isn't very helpful for the baby/toddler phase. The flaps are slippery and soft-edged -- hard for even an adult to lift, let alone a child -- plus they are WAY too flimsy/easy to rip off. My son ripped off the mouse flap twice within 1 hour of the book arriving...and not just because he's destructive, but because he got frustrated trying to lift it up and just pulled instead.

Would prefer this in a board book format!

My daughter is 18 months and loves books with flaps. She stays pretty busy with them which gives me some time to get a few things accomplished. I was really excited to add this book to her collectIon, and she really liked it, but I was disappointed with the construction. It was very flimsy, and she tore a couple pages within the first few days. It is a cute little book, just wish it was a bit more sturdy.

Pretty disappointed with the quality of the book received. It came in a package that had a horrible smell and was missing several flaps, had tears, a sticky substance that stuck the first 2 pages together. There is no way I will be able to use this with my kids. Very disappointed!
