Detailed characters, interesting plot. Dialogue was well written, and editing was pretty good. I also liked the epilogue, with a clear and satisfying ending. Loved the secondary characters as well.

The only drawbacks were minor. The love scenes were not well written. They were not as explicit as some and not as chaste as others. The author seemed to want to fall in the middle but it left them a bit awkward and underwhelming for the reader. Part of the plot was about nessa wanting to experience the wicked side, but it felt like the author was a bit hesitant.

Over all though, a pretty good book.

This was a surprising find. The characters were very likable and real. The storyline was original and interested. Overall a fun summer read with the perfect amount of romance, intrigue and plot twists.

Loved this ebook. Funny, witty as it had me laughing out loud several times. Once I began reading it did not want to put it down. My only disappointment was that after reading it I had hoped to find ebooks wrote about Lord Peter and Harry. I hope the author writes about them and that the store will email me the links to them as they do when I have read other ebooks and a new release comes out to extent the stories of other characters.

Above Reproach Widow is "Seduced" into falling for a self-made man(Cit), which is not done! Also, on her deceased Husband's deathbed, he requested that she marry his best friend, to take care of her and their daughter, but they never got around to doing that. This story is kind of predictable, but I enjoyed it.

I really enjoyed the adventures of JACK and NESSA !!! I had a great deal of sympathy for Nessa but really admired how fast and well she over came the strict teaching that had been forced on her !!! Jack was such a rascal but he made a wonderful recovery...I was afraid his friends and his mother would give him more problems and I loved how he handled both his former mistresses when they caused trouble !!!! The problems they encountered on their trip to France was a good exciting ending !!!! I hope this is enough to encourage other readers and not ruin the plots ...
Will there be a follow up ??? Thank you for the wonderful entertainment !!!!

Enjoyed the story until the closing scenes. Nessa epitomizes the secret desires of many an overly sheltered woman, and her actions for self-realization force her into an unwanted and hasty marriage to a most unlikely suitor, Jack, with ulterior motives of his own. The struggles that they face are sometimes typically to be expected and at other times comical. However, I was disappointed in the sequence, suddenness and hurried events of their final days in Paris and would have liked this part of the story to be properly introduced and expanded upon.

A truly enjoyable Regency romance with just the right amount of misunderstanding and deception and "I wonder if she/he loves me" to make this enjoyable. Throw in a time in France which includes an escape from Napoleon's supporters, this novel was a great read. A friend called it "mind candy" but mind candy at its best.

This is an excellent book, and the characters are great! Jack, with the reputation of being a rake, marries Nessa, who has the reputation of being extremely virtuous and straitlaced. Through their interactions with each other before and after their marriage they find that, at heart they are not what they seem to be on the surface. The fact is the two of them are really very much alike and even before the end of the book it is easy to see that they are a perfect couple. I recommend this book highly to anyone who likes historical romances!
