This is a wonderful adventure ...not quite believable but so much fun, fighting, love and sex along with the twists and turns !!! At first our hero Beckett and his friend Alfred appeared to be pretty much empty headed fools but Beckett becomes a real fighter ..sometime slow mentally but a real fighter physically !!! Isobel also turns from a helpless child to a fighter !!! I love the Captain Black character rich with so many possibilities !! Harry Lennox..well I kept waiting for him to suffer a painful death for being so so wicked and evil !!! I can not say more without giving away the plots but I hope others will enjoy this great reading entertainment as much as I did..Thank You !!!

This book has every cliche known to man. The main characters are unbelievable. The villain is an over-the-top maniac, and the plot is a convoluted mess. Many will love it, but I found it ridiculous.
More Than Passion (Book 1 Dashing Nobles Series) :: Gabriella (Hiatt Regency Classics Book 1) :: Chance City Series Book One (Sensual Historical Western Romance) (The Chance City Series 1) :: The Wren (Wings of the West Book 1) :: Miss Amelia Lands a Duke (The Caversham Chronicles Book 0)

Fun take on the overdone "gotta marry NOW to inherit" premise. You can't help but like Beckett, his friend Alfred & of course the "Bride of convenience," Isobel.
The storyline takes a few "jogs" like a cat named Captain Black; & Sir Harry, the evil guy who can find you, though well hidden, without benefit of now modern tracking devices. Guess I never gave much though to "pirates" either until all of a sudden there they were. Anyway, kind of fun reading.

I read this book on the high recommendations of another popular and well-thought of author and am so happy that I did - so Julianne, thank you for pointing me in this direction!
Loved the spunk and courage shown by both main characters. This story is last paced, full of love, caring, mystery and everything else that would make it a great read. Yes, you read it right, not just good, but great!
The supporting characters were just as interesting as the main ones
and each played his or her very important role to help make this an enjoyable adventure for me.
My hat off to a very talented author.

Becket and Isobel are both likable characters and I enjoyed seeing the way their love developed. There are definitely parts that are overly dramatic and unrealistic, but isn't that part of the fun of a romance novel?

I read the third book first and immediately purchased the first two books. I loved the first book as much as books two and three. Michelle McMaster creates a wonderful world for the reader to immerse themselves in. I highly recommend this series.
Please RateSeducing the Bride (Brides of Mayfair Series Book 1)
Seducing the Bride by Michelle McMaster is an enjoyable read with both danger and heated passion. The characters are diversely interesting and the dialogue is crisp. I especially like Beckett's wit and gentle heart and Isobel's irrepressible spirit. They are a perfect match.
