A cute fluffy story, good beach read. However, this is the most poorly-edited book I have ever encountered. Either the editor or the author has no concept of how commas work, they are sprinkled liberally through each paragraph in a nonsensical way. If you are able to simply ignore the commas, you will be fine. This book would be vastly improved by another round of editing to insert missing words and get rid of 75% of the commas.

This is a cute yet predictable book. The author sure doesn't use commas, and I actually got a headache from trying to read long sentences which were not properly punctuated. It made an easy story a tough read. There were some laugh-out-loud lines.

Sweet and funny read. Sophie, a perfect housewife was suddenly blindsided by her husband with the news that he was leaving her for a younger woman. She is left with little but soon discovers that his leaving was a blessing in disguise.

This is funny, heartwarming book with great characters. I loved every page of it. Some things are hard to get through as in this book where the husband blindsides the wife when he says he wants to get a divorce. How hard this was to handle, but done in a funny and sympathetic way. Looking for ward to reading another of this author's book.

I think most women can relate to similar crazy situations and we can end up in and the resulting feelings. I can hear the English accent without even having sound. Easy to pick up and read a chapter before sleeping for the night. (And I often read another in the morning just because of the suspense of what's next.) Fun book to read.

Loved this book! Feel good ending after a roller coaster ride of emotions. Love it when good things happen to good people and not so good people reap their karma. And Mr Tumnus is well taken care of, as should always be the case.

Poorly written. A distinct lack of commas. One sentence consisted of no less than 49 words without a single punctuation mark! Often difficult to work out who was talking as the author often didn't follow the convention of starting in a new line when there was a change of person speaking. Book finishes at 90 per cent of the pages; the remainder being the beginning of another novel. Also, don't be misled by the title - the story could be set anywhere as 'Cornish Cottage' is just the name of a non-descript house that could be anywhere in England. Ther is, however, a reasonable bit of humour in this non-story.

Despite serious flaws with grammar, this delightful story earned a 4-star rating from me despite the tremendous amount of (mostly punctuation) errors. Normally, a book with this many grammatical mistakes would have seen me not even finishing it. I abhor when authors obviously don't have the capabilities and skills (or even access to a former language arts teacher who could help) to format text so that dialogue and paragraphs (not to mention the simple task of adding commas and periods) are in place as they should be. However, because the story is quite entertaining with a well-developed plot and engaging characters, the obvious errors are, in this case, worth ignoring (and I honestly can't believe I just said that). Even with the issues, this story is worth the 99 cents and the time.

Light hearted fun read! I really enjoyed this book. I loved the main characters and the mafia moms. I read while I'm a the gym to make the time go by faster, and kept catching myself smiling and laughing out loud. While I noticed a few typos it was definitely easy to overlook. I wish the author would write more romantic comedies. I can't wait to read more from this author.

The most fun you can have reading about divorce and a 40 year old woman. No hours of poor me just fun and comic situations. It's just heroine against the gossip mafia and getting in fun situations with handsome men. Internet dating internet scandal and a wacky best friend. Ohh I have to go read it again.

This was a great story, however, the author desperately needs an editor. Punctuation is a mess in this book. Commas where they aren't needed and not where they are. Judicious placement of semi-colins and apostrophes would make the reading experience sublime.

While this was an excellent story with strong setting and interesting characters, the punctuation is way off mark and, in many many cases, simply missing. Unsettling to read. I don't know whether to look up more stories by her or not...

I really enjoyed reading this book. I would recommend it, however, it took sometime to get used to the this author's writing style. Once I got the flow it was quite an enjoyable read. I also really like finding a book in which the heroine is 40!

A fabulously funny and heart warming book, much of which those of us having been in Sophies situation can relate to. Thank you . A lovely read, just sorry when I came to the end... highly recomended, but make sure you have plenty of time as you won't want to put the book down once you've started reading.

I am seriously amazed at the positive reviews for this book. It's a shame, I can see that it may have been a cute story, but the lack of punctuation and simple spelling mistakes made it impossible to get through 3 chapters. How can anyone have the nerve to sell this?

He has a plan. He will sell the house, he and his new junior girlfriend will move to an area near the junior girlfriend's family and Sophie will have to move too. Because Harry, their little boy, will have to be near his Dad.
Sophie has a wonderful inner life. The reader is carried along with her thoughts. At times her thoughts are absolutely funny, and at others they are very sad. But, those inner thoughts always hold the reader's interest.
The stars align for Sophie. She gets a wonderful divorce attorney for free. She finds a job at her son's elementary school. She becomes friends with a lovely man and his “gay” partner. Most of all, she finds that as bad as her life might be, there are worse things.
This is the first book I have read by Ms Crabb. She is a talented author who has plotted a story that is very true to real life, but at the same time, it is very entertaining. Sophie is like many women who find that their life has become new territory. At times she feels very lost. But, even when she is lost, she is strong and smart and she will eventually move forward.
