Purchased the Kindle edition and read this in one night in under 2 hours.

This fun book was a very quick and easy read. Josie is a physically gorgeous girl with a good personality, kind-hearted, and some brains. The exact extent of her brains is unknown since it's not really made clear exactly what she does as a junior copywriter. However, you can rest assured that Josie is not a dumb airhead as many chick lit heroines can be (a la Sophie Kinsella's heroines). So, we are already off to a good start with this book. However, every heroine must have a limitation that makes them seem human, and Josie's is clumsiness or just general bad luck.

The book is predictable, but then that's what chick lit is--predictable. In fact, almost all books are very predictable if you stick with a genre long enough, so I didn't have a problem with the predictability aspect of this book. It's also entertaining, and it's just really nice to read a chick lit book where the character isn't getting into one mishap after another. Josie is actually very "real" in the sense that she makes real-world decisions and has real-world goals. So she dreams about dating or marrying a movie star. How many of us wouldn't? Especially if you actually had an opportunity to meet one and looke the way Josie does. And that's another thing that I really enjoyed about this book--that Josie was an attractive girl with no weight issues. As she describes herself, people are always telling her that she could have been a model. It's her clumsiness that prevented her from being one.

I was really pleasantly surprised with how much I enjoyed this book when I finished it. So much so, that I intended to purchase the sequel. However, the reviews on that one made it clear that it's more about Josie--and she's a little more scatterbrained and more like a typical airhead chick lit heroine in the sequel--with very little Josie/Jake interaction that I've decided to pass on that one.

Also, one thing to know about this book is that it ends abruptly. I am used to seeing a "happily ever after" of some sort written into a book, but this story is clearly meant to continue. It's like the Lord of the Rings triology. Rememember watching the first movie and when it ended, you knew that it ended at a logical point, but you also clearly knew that the plot hadn't ended? Just like that.

The premise of this story really intrigued me, and it was every bit as fun as I expected! If you've ever wanted to see the pretty, snooty, mean girl get her comeuppance, this book is for you! And honestly, who among us hasn't at some point dreamed of meeting that one movie star (Tom Selleck, anyone?) and...well, I don't want to ruin the ending.

I intend to read the rest of the "McMaster the Disaster" series as soon as I can!

Super funny. I totally related to Josie in the klutz department. I think it was well written. I got it as a freebie. I did not realize however, that you have to buy the next TWO books to get to the ending. I totally hate that in a series. From the reviews of the rest of the series I will probably not buy the others as everyone rated this first book to be the best. It will definitely put me on guard for every future series I look at.

This is a great stroy-line and an entertaining read. My only problem with it is that it is FULL of typos - bad grammar, extra words in places they don't make sense, misspellings. In a book that I pay to read, I really don't expect there to be this many errors. It looks as if no one even bothered to proof read it before it went to copy...sad, because it really is an entertaining book.

I read this book awhile ago, but after reading this, I had to read the rest! I loved the concept & Josie's personality. I think it's almost a bit of a look into what our society has become & how shallow people view marriage, these days. This was an enjoyable & fun read. It's well-written and will have you excited to see what happens to Josie! Get it...NOW!

I did not feel a connection between the romantic leads. The only part of the story that was enjoying is the side stories of her past disasters. They were funny and save the book. If felt the male was there only for the plot and you did not see why he would be interested in her other than the other girls were undesirable. This book felt like it was missing the romance.

I enjoyed reading this book, and frankly, neglected a few things to sneak in a little time with it. It's similar in some ways to Janet Evanovich's stories about Stephanie Plum, so you understand it's fun fluff and not an intricate detective story. Of course, it's a love story as well, unlike the Plum series, so it's likely a book that will stand on its own. Wait! I just looked it up, and there are two more in the trilogy! Gotta run and snag them up! Bye!

The plot was nicely paced and Josie was very likeable. The whole thing was a bit far-fetched but was written nicely enough so you didn't care. The humorous part were funny.

"smart" might be giving too much credit to the lead character Josie, but she was about average on the intellect meter.

It really was a sweet book, though, and it was free.

There were some editing issues and grammar errors but if you can look past those then the story was an easy read. It read like it was intended for a young adult audience. Not a lot of meat to it but I did read the whole thing so it wasn't that bad! Although I do have to say using the word 'aught', instead of 'ought' was annoying.

This is a really cute book and somewhat funny and sweet beginning for this series. Can't wait to see what's up next for Josie and Jake. Mattie is a riot and sweet good friend to Josie and adds his flair to her life. Anxious to see who the next big celebrity is that Josie is going to work for. Was disappointed that Rebecca didn't get a little more of what she deserved as far as payback for her bitchy ways. Would definitely read the rest of the series.

Loved the characters in this really cute story about Josie, who gets picked to be a bridesmaid in a wedding for a couple she has never even met. Along the way, she finds out who her true friends are and might even find love.

The book has an ok storyline for an easy-reading, lighthearted romance, but wow is it in need of an editor. The errors in spelling and grammar are overwhelming, to the point of distraction. Clean the text up and I would give another star, maybe 2.

Where to begin - this book failed in so many ways. The story foundation is interesting but the characters are extremely flat. I think the author could have done so much with this but I just couldn't connect to the main character or any of the characters. No emotion - good or bad. The best word to describe this book is BORING. Don't waste your time!

Laughed and cried and thoroughly enjoyed this book. Interesting idea for chosing bridesmaids. Agree a diary is a good way to guide your actions and review past achievements and mistakes. Must remember to keep locked up from roommates; even ones you have known for years. Money is the root of all evil. Will look forward to reading the rest of the series.

Loved it! This is one of the most entertaining novels I've read in a long time. I laughed out loud, sympathized with the humiliating moments and, of course, did an awwww when the girl gets the guy. As soon as I finished reading, I bought the next two in the series and was not disappointed. Loved all three of them.

HUGE waste of time. Poor grammar, vapid dialogue, NOT funny, and useless details that did not add anything to the story. I couldn't believe that there is a sequel! Are you kidding me? Even free, it was too expensive. I can't get my time back!!!

I selected this book as one of several free books to see if I would ever enjoy reading on my Kindle vs a "real" book. After the first few pages, I was hooked. This book is lighthearted, funny, and thoroughly enjoyable. I totally recommend it. In fact, it has made me actually "purchase" books for my kindle...the rest of this series. I found Josie to be a sweet, relatable character and I am about to start the final book of the series. Give this a try, it was sweet, fun and charming!

No wonder Josie has low self esteem! With a Mother who is only concerned about "what will people think" she has probably been disappointing Mom for years. And Mom still is trying to control and interfere in her life, by entering her in the Bridesmaid Lotto, and then bribing her to participate when she is actually selected.

Other reviewers have run the gamut from 1 star "hate it" reviews to 5 star "love it", and because I enjoyed the story overall, I will add another good rating to the stack with a 4. Some of the problems others have mentioned also struck a nerve with me, and while I understand setting up a lead-in to the next book, I hate the cliff hanger. I want a book to be a stand alone entity, and if I enjoyed the book and writing style, I will be interested in reading the next one. But I don't want to have a book ending with a major question mark. Where will it end? Book 3? Book 53?

This is what I call a 'daydream' story. The kind of life most girls dream they will have. From the fancy clothes to the movie star (who is just THE perfect man) boyfriend. Totally implausible, but just totally fun! Take it as it is intended - a fun piece of entertainment, and you might just enjoy it too.

This story was very entertaining with a few twists. Loved the characters and their chemistry. What stopped me from giving it 5 stars was getting to the end only to find I need to buy 2 more books to find out what happens. Had I known that I wouldn't have gotten it in the first place.

The book was well written, but there was not ending. It just stopped with her flying off. Would not have read if I has known this, it should have said part one. Will not recommend this book because of this.

I really loved this book. Once I started reading it I couldn't put it down. It was well written, I laughed, I smiled, and I was sad. I really related to Josie. I felt mostly everything she went through. The friendship s, the humiliation and the betrayal. I definitely will read another book by this author.

Cute read. Totally predictable . but it was worth spending a rainy afternoon with a fairytale that has you wishing it was you, but knowing it will never happen. The premise was unique, maybe some famous people ought to try it for charity. But shorten the time to a weekend of fun and glamour.

Extremely cheezy. I know we're supposed to suspend disbelief...but this was entirely unbelievable. The main character was annoying, but I stuck with her the whole way through. If you like this sort of fairy tale, go for it!

Bridesmaid Lotto was a very fun story. Although it wasn't too deep or filled with mystery and/or tragedy, the story moved along nicely and I found myself eager to see what happened next. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in a simple, lighthearted love story. I am ready to read the next one in this series.

This is was a very enjoyable book. I flew through it and after it was over I went hunting for the next one. Aspects of the story are predictable, but it's a romance so that's kind of expected. Rachel Astor really wrote a fun story with characters I liked and want to see more of. I would definitely recommend it if you need a book to kill time with.

Very cute book. Predictable many times but still a nice book to end my day reading. I thought it was an odd storyline but I still enjoyed the book. It was also free!! The other two books in this three book series are not free, $2.99 each. Still a great deal though. Quick read. Recommend for Rom Com lovers.

But it is the best kind of cringing.. I thoroughly enjoyed it! Even though, I tossed my kindle onto the sofa beside me occasionally cause my eyes were bugging out.. What a great fun summer read.

I have now gone out and bought the books on the store written Rachel!

Just plain old fun..

This book had a good plot....funny, endearing romantic comedy. But it could have been better if it had a few more details...the author could have made it better by providing more history on the characters, a few more details on the locations, the clothing....even what the main character looked like. I guess that's up to your imagination, which is fine too. All in all, it's better than anything I could've written, and totally worth the free download. And it could be read in one day's time... :-)

The book was cute for an easy read. Very predictable. You could tell the author wanted to give the main character an obstacle, but it never felt like it happen. Every time something bad happened to her, things would turn around and her life would be way better because of it.

I really enjoyed this book! Yes, it was predictable. Yes, it needs some further editing. But it was a lot of fun. Josie is a great character and I can picture the hotness of Jake. I think it was because it was so obvious that they would end up together that made it so much fun, the anticipation of it! I've already downloaded and read more books by her and will be looking forward to see what's next.

I was pulled in this book from the very beginning, catching myself literally laughing out loud! I even had to tell myself a couple of times these are characters in a book, it's not for real. Josie adamantly did not want to be entered into the Bridesmaid Lotto, however, her mom enters her without her permission or knowledge. Imagine Josie's shock when she is chosen as one of the bridesmaids for socialite Emma Van Horn. Little did she know, this unexpected surprise would bring many more surprise - pleasant and not so pleasant.

I finished reading all 3 books. Men, oh men....I enjoyed every moment of it. It really cracked me up so bad, especially when you had a stressful day. I LOVE IT!!!!

The 3rd book has the least funny moments. But it definitely made up a lot romantic parts that missed in the 1st 2 books. Will definitely recommend my friends to read this series.
