Another great read by Dale, the story is exciting and carries on the story of general mcclanahan if you are not a fan of dale brown read all of his books and this is the perfect continuation a great story that anyone who enjoys aviation will enjoy I am ready for the next book we waited too long to get this one it is a smooth read these stories are worthy of the movies and I wish someone would make a new adventure film no fake characters or cartoons required!! If you enjoyed hunt for red October you will love these books so up to date with current politics, unlike other authors these do not drag and meet your needs leaving you wanting more the best character development since Hemingway!! Read and enjoy you will not be disappointed!!

A US paramiliteary group (Scion) with high-tech capability, out of favor with the US president, is hired by the President of Poland to protect his alliance of free nations against the threats to their existence by an extremely reckless Russian leader. Scion is led by an ex-President of the United States. Scion has a combat unit named Iron Wolf.
Interesting general plot idea but not very well executed. There is a ruthless Russian president and an equally ruthless American Scion leader. Some of the characters are too uni-dimensional and their relationships are not realistic. Intelligent conversation is minimal. The high-tech cyber warfare is believable but some of the other sci-fi, for example the combat robots, is not. If the Scion force had the capability of creating these combat robots, one would think they could have been remotely piloted, rather than placing their on-board human pilots at risk. Presumably, having on-board pilots at risk was done to add to the suspense and drama of the combat situations. Reading can be tedious at times but at other times quite engaging. It reads as though it would make a good action movie.

Welcome to the world of cyber warfare here robot fighting machines with humans inside can effect any battle."Price of Duty" is exciting and it is a page turner.
Modern global warfare with the aim of almost destroying the world with the latest and most horrific weapons is exciting but overwhelming at times but then one can read news articles that make you think...maybe....It is all killing with the latest weapons and includes much cyber warfare. In essence there are 3 sides in this modern view of the world. There is the United States with a President who would like to keep us out of any international conflict ...then there is the Russians with a dictator determined to have Russia dominate the world. But there is also a third force loose in the world....the AFN, the Alliance of Free Nations ,Scion, containing the leaders of all other nations plus some true American patriots.
Scion contains many Americans as well as warriors from other countries....from either Europe or the Far East. Their aim is to do anything to neutralize the madman who runs Russia now,Gennadit Gryzlov! When the American President, refuses to get involved, it is up to Brad McLanahan and
his Polish girlfriend, Major Nadia Rozek to fix things.
Dale Brown has an amazing imagination and will keep you on the edge of your seat for the length of this book. And this one is only one in the long series of war novels that he has written.

I have read every Patrick mclanahan type book that dale brown has written so far. Starting with day of the cheetah in 1991. This did not disappoint. Full of vibrant action, impossible odds, and a lot of military techno geek speak. If you like Tom Clancy then fake brown is for you.
