Great book. Love it. Couldn't stop reading it. Definitely going to read the rest of the series. Downloading this book for free was a huge steal. Everything from the beginning to the end keeps you glued to it.

Imagine Person of Interest but the heroes chase bad guys who use the black arts. I

Reminded me a bit of the John Milton series but with horror. Good shock moments. Intense climax.

I want to see more of Casca.

Bill Massa writes thrilling action fiction that's every bit as compelling as anything you'll find on network television, and Occult Assassin is no exception. You can see his screenwriting background in every scene

Bill has done his homework, and everything in his books from the weapons down to the locations has a nice clear "ring of truth" about them. Sure, there are a few mistakes that only the locals will notice (there are no hills between downtown San Francisco, and the Mission, for example), he creates a compelling world, catching the nuances of the Bay Area tech culture and using them to build an exciting story.

Occult Assassin isn't a book that's going to change your life, but if you're looking for interesting characters, non-stop action, and an "I can't put this book down" story, this is the book for you. It will keep you turning pages as you follow the trail of Talon as he blazes a bloody path of revenge and discovers that the demons are all too real.

I can't wait to read the next installment.

If you enjoy reading a book that difficult to put down, I suggest reading this book. It is an unusual and different side of the occult that sounds possible and scary. I found the story unique and look forward to reading Occult Assassin #2! The hunt to put a stop to such practices will continue to hold any readers interest, wherever it gets hunted, anywhere in the world. Anxiously awaiting the next book!!!

Great first book in the series. Many of the weapon details were spot on, as was the action.

Coming from both a military background (OIF/OEF Veteran), as well as currently trying to break into the computer field - it was a very enjoyable read.

Good mix of military, tech and occult (in the vein of the current Lovecraft revisionist circle).

Looking forward to reading more!

It was good until the end. Extremely cheesy and obvious ending. The charecters drifted from who they were to the blah. It was a good read up until "evil was defeated" doesn't get much more cheesy and clique.

I really enjoyed reading this book. It was well written and kept your interest from beginning to end. I read a lot of adventure/suspense series and I enjoyed mixing special forces fighting with nontraditional adversaries.

Well written. Had me on edge throughout the entire story. William Massa could be the new Jim Butcher, Talon the new Dresden! Cannot wait to continue the series. Mr. Massa has captured a new fan for life.

Poorly narrated and stilted, it reads like a comic script, in a bad way. We're given a strong female lead, a driven character who we have interest in, and on the day of the male lead proposing to her, right at the beginning of the story, she is fridged in an insane occult murder to drive the plot. And as she dies, we get her viewpoint, and she mostly seems... resigned. Like, yup, another great backstory, stabbed to death to give the male musclebound lead someone to avenge.

The concept intrigued me enough to get past the poor writing, but only until that happened. The "hero" proceeds to get drunk, beat the s*** out of goths with pentagrams, because she was killed in one, and at that point I put the book down. the only thing assasinated was my desire to look at any other novel by the author.
