Altho a captivating story, not *quite* as engaging as I find her other books. However, this being a novella, there is probably less time for characterization and depth. It skimmed, and I think the story could be further developed. But a necessary read for any fans of the Breed universe.

To have an ending that does not end with rainbows and candycanes is something to be enjoyed. The story had a great pull in to it. You so hope for things to work out for them both and another spin takes you out. For a great book that will will give you a quick flutter this is it. Dannika is one of my utmost favorite authors she can always make you wanting more.

My only complaint is that the book was not longer! Dark has a way of writing characters that warm your heart and make you want more. I have not read a book that Dannika has written that is not a wonderful read. Kane and Caroline's story is one of love and loss of something that they did not even know that they were worth.

I expected it to be longer with more details adding up to the finishing of the Shining with him and Sunny finally meeting up again and the delivery of her twins, but it left you hanging. It was not what I expected from the other writings of Dannika. This was the first disappointment in all of Danika's books. I loved all the rest of her books. I would love for her to continue with new additions to the Mageri series. I loved the different twists and turns that lead from one adventure to another. I would love to know what happens with Justus and Page's daughter Rose and how she grows up. Too much left to write about, that is why I was disappointed with the Closer.

In the last book of the Mageri series, Silver encountered Kane. I expected this book/short story to take up from there, but it didn't. That is the big fault of this author. She jumps around and doesn't finish things. This is Kane's back story -- what happened to him after the year in which he didn't contact his sister.

After the first couple/few chapters I started speed reading this. I tried to like it, I really did.
I really liked Dannika's Seven Series so I thought I'd like this book. I didn't.
Personally I find that the majority of the story taking place in the creepy killer's home/bed terribly gross. It was off-putting for me.
It was much too long for a story taking place inside this girl's mind. Just not appealing to me.
