This book about Jane Yellowrock brings a new focus. Bobby is a special young man. No matter how old he will always be a young man. I love how emphasis was placed on his being so special and gifted. We all need to remember that some people around us are special and everyone is gifted in their own ways. It was heartwarming. Kits...gotta love them.

The Jane Yellow rock series are entertaining and action packed. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star is because she has lots of men in her life, lots of libido, and no action. That gets a little old after a while.

As with all of the other Jane Yellowrock Novels "five star." Jane is one of my all time favority Urban Fantasy Characters. Strong, tuff, but not over the top like some characters. She is always ready to kick some ass...
Nineteen Stories from the World of Jane Yellowrock :: Dragon Blood (Hurog Duology Book 2) :: Blood of the Lost (The Darkness Within Trilogy Book 2) :: A Perfect Blood (The Hollows Book 10) :: D&D MORDENKAINEN'S TOME OF FOES (D&D Accessory)

This series keeps getting better and better. The writing has evolved to some of the best I've ever read. The detail, the plot, the characters, the mysteries, all have left me waiting for the new one next year.

I recommend the entire series, which starts with Skinwalker. Jane Yellowrock hunts vampires for a living, but she finds herself employed by vampires to deal with problems, both internal and external, that they are unwilling or unable to deal with themselves. Gripping stories. Terrific dialogue. Jane is sassy, with attitude to spare. I am looking forward to future books.

Once you get this far in the Jane Yellowrock series the people in them have become old friends and very interesting. I can't wait to find out if Rick ever gets to change into a black leopard and mates with Jane when she's Beast, the mountain lion.

Jane sets things to right once again with everything but her own personal life. If you are looking for action and kick-ass, this story fills the bill but it falls short on resolving any of her love life issues. Maybe in the next one?

I write the same reviews for Faith Hunter's series, because the books are all well written, concise, have a storyline & somewhere to go & I enjoy them. I don't do spoilers, read the books for yourself.

Summary: Contrary to Leo's wishes, Jane heads out to Natchez, MS to help with rogue vampires. A problem where Naturaleza vampires, those that want unlimited human cattle, have "disappeared" over 100 people. Can she and her friends stop the bad guys? Bad guys that are not what they seem...
Review: Action, fantasy, romance, self-evaluation, forgiveness. All of these elements appear in Jane Yellowrock's newest tale by Faith Hunter.
Blood Trade is a novel of beginnings and spiritual awareness. We left Jane in Death's Rival without her former friends and lovers, and she was chained to Leo. And in the beginning of this book, she despaired her conditions. But through her new friends, the Younger brothers, and a new job, Jane emerged stronger and better. Many threads were resolved, and Jane started to understand herself and those around her. We also learn more about vampires and their origins. I'm curious to see how this knowledge will affect everyone when Leo finds out she knows.
Jane is not a heroine in heels who never make mistakes. She is flawed and makes mistakes. However, Jane's appeal is that her character never stops learning and growing. She had many spiritual realizations in this book, and also found out that her life since she came to New Orleans might not have been a coincidence. Jane is tough to forgive, not only others, but also herself. She is difficult, but that is what makes her relatable.
Jane's friends and foes are also complex and enjoyable to read. Bruiser is by far my favorite, especially now that he's undergone many changes. The Younger brothers become indispensable to Jane, and we meet people from her past. She starts to understand the meaning of family. Rick and his PsyLED friends show up to lend a hand, and we learn more about Soul. Leo is largely absent in this book, however, his presence is known through every page and plot point.
My minor complaint is Jane's love life. I don't expect it to be resolved, with 3+ books to go, but I believed Rick as an choice ended last book. I expected him and Jane to have closure, but Rick remained a candidate. Instead, Jane's love life is the same. Also, by the end of Death's Rival, I thought she had forgiven Bruiser. They seemed to have bonded before the final battle. But we are brought back to Jane holding Bruiser accountable for actions he had no control over. Instead, Jane's love life is the same.
The Jane Yellowrock world is more than vampires, death, and romance. The depth of the characters, especially Jane, is multi-dimensional. They challenge my own thoughts, past, and beliefs. A book that results in deep thoughts is one that I encourage everyone to read. Because a book that makes us thing, helps us grow, too.
Sex: None, not even kissing. Sad, but the descriptions of Bruiser, Rick, and co. really make up for it. ;)
Violence: Multiple shootings and stabbings.
Rating: 5 out of 5 stars
Series Rating: 4 out of 5 stars
Quote: (Bruiser) "I would give," he said, his voice rough, "everything I am to keep you from being hurt."

This book was amazing. I absolutely love Jane Yellowrock/Beast. She never fails to keep me captivated and yearning for the next novel. Jane Yellowrock continues to you grow as a character and Beast is evolving into something beautiful! Who couldn't be down with her? Faith Hunter is such a talented writer, if you haven't read any of her books start with Skinwalker. You will not be disappointed.

Love all the Jane Yellowrock series and Faith Hunter books in general. This book tied all the previous ones in with the plot. This continues and I can't wait to read the next one. My only hope is that by the end, Jane and big cat will find love, peace and family.

If you have read the preceding books in this series than you will enjoy Blood Trade. Jane is a great character that you can't help but admire but the book does not deal with the issues left hanging by the last book. This book takes a trip out of town to deal with free range vampires and avoids dealing with Beasts chained state. The story is action packed and a fun read but character progression is essential in a series.

As with the previous books, Faith wrote another winner. I however did not give it 5 stars because it does not seem to advance the characters very much. I won't say anything more here because I do not want to add any spoilers.
