This was a really sweet contemporary romance that I thoroughly enjoyed. It was a mix between a Susan Mallery and Kat Martin book - a lot of romance and a little suspense thrown in. This was the first book I've read by J.H. Croix and I can't wait to continue reading the series.

The book starts out with Gage Hamilton returning to Diamond Creek, Alaska to reopen the ski lodge that his grandmother left to him. He loved the place and wanted to get it up and running again after leaving the Navy Seals. Marley Adams is a computer geek who returns home to Diamond Creek after being robbed and attacked in her apartment in the city. The two meet and begin dating. Because Marley has always been a computer geek, she doesn't see herself as beautiful of attractive to men, but that's obviously not the case. Gage is strong, tall and protective.

When Marley starts receiving emails from someone wanting their flash drive back, she gets scared and rightfully so since the messages are creepy and then threatening towards the end. Of course, Gage being the former Navy Seal that he is, will do everything in his power to protect Marley and solve the mystery behind who broke into her apartment and who is sending her threatening messages.

All ends well for the couple and they live happily ever after. I can't wait to read Garrett & Delia's story next!

This is the perfect beginning to a new series set in breathtakingly beautiful Alaska. Ms. Croix introduces some residents of Diamond Creek, including Gage Hamilton, a recently retired Navy SEAL, who comes to town to fulfill his dream of reopening his family's old ski lodge and Marley Adams, a bright and beautiful computer code developer who recently returned home from Seattle. The chemistry between Gage and Marley is so strong, it jumps right off the page. The captivating plot has action, adventure, suspense, humor, family dynamics, small town atmosphere and sizzling romance. I highly recommend Christmas on the Last Frontier and can hardly wait for book two of this series.

I was fortunate to receive an advance reader copy (ARC) in exchange for an honest review.

Given to me for an honest review. Marley moved back home planing to use her computer skills to make enough money to live on. Gage is fixing the Last Frontier Lodge so he can reopen the ski slopes. They meet at the lodge when Gage tells Marley that she is trespassing. She is happy that the lodge is reopening and tells him everyone else will be happy, too. He tells her that he was thinking about making an announcement, but wasn't sure of the details. Marley tells him she can do his website and he needs to do it now or he won't have any visitors after Christmas. Since he heard the same thing from his sisters, he decides to hire Marley. Will Marley recover from the robbery in her home? Will she get over her crush on Gage?

Christmas on the Last Frontier is a good contemporary romance, not historical as I thought it would be. It was a fun book to listen to because the narrator did a good job giving voice to the characters. The characters were well rounded and fun and it made for a nice romance between them.
I was given this audio book in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.

This is a sweet romance about two people who aren’t really sure what love is when it smacks them in the face. From the moment they meet, Gage and Marley can’t keep their minds (or their hands) off of each other. As Marley helps Gage get the Last Frontier resort ready to re-open, these two fall madly in love with each other before they can blink. This is a great story of when perfectly matched souls collide. This is the first book that I read by J.H. Croix and I enjoyed the way the characters came to life. The glimpses into the supporting characters in this book have me looking forward to reading more of her works to see how their stories play out.

While I think that the book could have benefited from a couple less sex scenes in exchange for more character interactions, the story still rolled along quite well. The author describes the town of Diamond Creek so well that you can easily picture it in your mind and get a hankering to visit.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Marley and Gage are so captivating to read about. I loved this story from start to finish. Gage is such a quiet unassuming guy who has great self control, until he meets Marley. Marley is a sweet outgoing girl who istrying to regain her footing after an incident that caused her to move back home. Both characters are so relatable. Definitely worth the read.

I loved this book!!! This book was about two people who were emotionally damaged by uncontrollable events in their lives and how they found each other. One was chasing childhood memories wanting to recreate the happiness found there and the other went home to the safety and love of her family. This is the story of how they found each other and were able to help the other heal. An ARC for an honest review.

Once again J H.Croix doesn't disappoint! I received a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. I loved the book from the very first page. Gage returns to Diamond Creek, Alaska to reopen his family sky lodge and try to get over the death of a friend while Marley returns to feel safe again. You can feel the heat between the two from the first moment they meet! I couldn't put it down!

This is an entertaining romance. I had hoped for more action from the Seal and more suspense but overall it was enjoyable. One little criticism is the author's tendency to keep repeating information in conversations. I would call this a spicy romance.

Well this is a romance book for sure. Such beautiful adverbs and adjectives describing things and feelings without being gross. Some books describe sex as "he was built like an elephant, he pushed her against the wall and they had amazing sex. (no feelings described} Or they had deep feelings for each other and went into the bedroom! That's it, you don't need to know anymore. Some people choose not to want anymore. That's OK. I like to know what they are feeling and why That's what makes a good romance. This author did just that.

The knock on the door in the dark of night took my breath away, I can imagine how scary that was for Marley.

I really enjoyed this book! What a surprise! I get emails from bookbub and only "buy" the free ebooks, so, unfortunately, it's pretty rare that I read a book that I'm actually glad I read. Most of the time, I'm like, meh. I loved Gage and Marley. They had great chemistry and both were caring people. No jerks nor arrogant people here. I don't recall any swearing and there were quite a few descriptive sex scenes. The only thing that wore on me a little was the "danger" and Marley's inner dialogue of her insecurity with herself and what to do when she got questionable emails. But it didn't bother me enough to mark less stars. Good book. I recommend it:)

A wonderful romantic storyline. I couldn't put the book down. The story was full of explicit romance as well as suspense. J. H. Croix gave the reader a wondrous look into the beautiful Alaskan landscape. My only negative thoughts to the story was the dropping of the "F" bomb. I don't continue with the read when I find the author has the need to use foul language within the storyline, but I finished the book anyway. A good romantic novel can be written without the need for foul language and I hope this author takes this as positive criticism and will refrain from inserting this word in future works, otherwise; I do recommend this delightful book.

I got the Kindle version. Written in different fonts. Every time the font changes (almost every other page) your place in the story has changed. I got so disgusted that I did not read beyond the first chapter. What I could decipher appeared to be the makings of a good story. I read to relieve stress, trying to read this shot the stress level straight up.

I enjoyed the storyline but something about the book didn't make me love it. The first couple of chapters were great and I thought I'd found another series to fall in love with. But then it was almost like the author let their high school daughter finish the book. The writing became stilted and there were so many repeated words in one paragraph.
For example: Marley poured herself a cup of coffee. She was grateful Gage had made coffee before he left for the lodge. Marley was pleasantly surprised Gage liked his coffee the same as her.
That's not verbatim but pretty much the way a paragraph was phrased. The whole book was like that after chapter 2 or 3.
The story also got a little slow and boring. Both the main characters kept hemming and hawing about how they felt about one another and Marley's lack of self confidence got annoying after the tenth time her friend had to tell her she was clueless that guys found her attractive.
I was excited about this series when I started and now I'm not sure if I want to download the second book at all.

What a fabtabulous Christmas story! Ms. Croix has definitely done it again. This book is the first in another series that takes place in the beautiful Alaska countryside. The way she writes about Alaska makes me want to live there, and I do not particularly like the cold!
This story is about Marley and Gage, two people that had absolutely no intension of falling in love. Marley moves back home to Diamond Creek, Alaska from Seattle, Washington after her apartment is broken into and she is assaulted. She no longer feels safe there, so she moves back home. Gage is/was a Navy SEAL, and decided to retire after losing his close friend Matt. Gage and his family used to visit their Grandparents at the Last Frontier Ski Lodge in Diamond Creek all of the time when they were young, but he has not been back since before it closed over ten years ago. Feeling lost Gage moves to Diamond Creek to reopen ski lodge, which he and his siblings inherited from their grandmother at her passing. Gage, with the help of Marley and Don, and his daughter Delia, they get the lodge ready to open at Christmas.
Read all of the twists and turns to Gage and Marley falling in love. Find out why Marley’s apartment in Seattle was broken into, and how Gage helps her get thru her fear.
I absolutely love the way Ms. Croix brings her readers into her stories. The way she makes you see absolutely everything, from the feelings her characters experiencing to the way the bald eagle is flying thru the trees.
Thank you Ms. Croix for the gift of the ARC of this book for my honest review, I totally love the way you write your stories. They have a way of relaxing me on a hectic day, and taking me away to the beautiful Alaska country side. I cannot wait to read Delia’s story!
Thank you for reading my review! Yes, you need to one-click this book!!

A beautiful rendition of how love tends to find those who not only need it the most, but who ultimately are not actively looking for it. Gage has been through a rough time over the past year. Having to watch his best friend die during combat when his helicopter was gunned down, and being unable to do anything to help, almost put him over the edge. Then to loose his grandmother, was almost his undoing, that is until he discovered that he was the prime recipient of her estate. When he realizes that his childhood dream of owning and running his grandparents ski lodge in Alaska is a possibility, along with his siblings, he finds himself with a renewed sense of direction. What he wasn't looking for when he moved back to Diamond Creek, flew in under his radar when he least expected it. Marley is back in Diamond Creek for good. After being brutally beaten when she walked into her apartment as it was being robbed, she's moved from Seattle back to her home town in Alaska. Thanks to the generosity and concern of her parents, she's settled into the cabin at the edge of their property, butted up against that of the Last Frontier Lodge. While walking the trails, her life collides with that of Gage, and neither were prepared for the magnetism between them. When Marley feels threatened, Gage finds out just how protective this ex-Navy Seal can be. Is his heart up to it? What will happen when two extremely reserved souls meet and mingle?
A beautiful love story that will warm your heart on a cold winters' day!

I have loved the Paranormal Romance stories of J. H. Croix and had meant to get around to her Contemporary Romance list before now, but fate stepped in and I got my first taste of Diamond Creek, Alaska. And let me tell you I am hooked. Not only do I have to find time in my tight reading and reviewing schedule to finish up this series – but I need to go start the Diamond Creek one as well. My eyes are going to be blurry that’s for sure, and in a good way.

Marley has returned home to live at her parent’s cabin in Diamond Creek, Alaska. She’s fled the big city after an attack that left her physically and emotionally wounded. Here she hopes to start over away from the danger.

Greg is also returning home with the intention of opening up his family’s old lodge for business once again.

Neither was looking for emotional entanglements. As neighbors they dealt well with each other, soon they were working together as a friendship that would lead to more developed. Greg is hooked but doesn’t want to be. Marley is unsure of any romantic future with Greg, but she cannot deny the attraction that sparks between them. When it seems that the danger Marley thought she’d left behind lands on her doorstep once again, Greg’s protective instincts take over and he steps in to watch over Marley. Their road to a happy ending will meet a few bumps, but the attraction is so strong that neither is giving up on a life together. As long as they can solve the mystery of who is after Marley and why.

This one sizzles and crackles like a fireplace with sexual tensions. The obvious attraction between Marley and Greg is impossible to miss – but they seem to dance around it for a bit. The mystery of who is trying to harm Marley is woven easily into their romantic beginnings. I really enjoyed Christmas On The Last Frontier and I’ve already downloaded the next story in this series. So, yes I am hooked on the series and the possibilities to come.

If you love your Romance with a touch of mystery and suspense, then this is a story you’ll want to pick up soon. I would definitely recommend this series and look forward to many happy reading hours completing it.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this novel. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this story.*

I first started reading J.H. Croix through a promotion from InstaFreebies. My first book was actually Garrett's story and from there I was hooked. I have now read 6 or 7 of her books in a month!
Her Frontier Lodge series is about a family that owns a lodge up in Alaska. Each book is about a sibling finding their true love. Each book is a Happy Ever After, but after one book you want to read the next to find out what happens with the rest of them.
This book is about Gage and Marley. Marley walked in on a home invasion and was terrified. She left her job and life in Seattle and moved back home to Diamond Creek, Alaska. Gage has just recently moved there after finding out he and his siblings inherited their grandparents lodge. He's been a lost since coming back from war and losing his best friend.
The two meet and instantly have a strong chemistry. They both still have demons from their past so everything doesn't go smoothly but they finally work it out.
I think I love J.H. Croix the most for her descriptive writing, and I'm not just talking about the romance scenes, which are really hot! She describes the town of Diamond Creek and all of Alaska so beautifully that I want to hop on a plane and go see it. As the book goes on and seasons change you can so clearly see the scenery, you feel like you are right there with the characters.
