This a really great book for everyone to read. Per the usual Dr. Grandin blows the doors off stereotypes, and brings science into the equation for the skeptic. It's a great read to learn more about yourself, and the world around us. Understand the fundamental differences that people have and increase the amount of empathy in our culture.

Fantastic book. Everyone who works in autism should have it! The focus on neurology helps create a balance in the perception of autism, ie the marriage of the power of the mind and the working of the brain. Thank you Temple!!

With a grandchild newly diagnosed with being on the ASD, I just wanted to be better informed. This lady does it all,
from technical and medical descriptions to personal story and more, it is the whole picture. I applaud her courage,
veracity and honesty.

Brilliant! This is a must read for anyone who has someone in their life that has Autism whether it be a family member, student or an employer. Ms. Grandin has once again written a priceless book on the Autistic Brain and its beauty despite the challenges it presents for normal neurotypical persons to understand. By purchasing this book, it will provide you with further insight into the brilliant minds of persons with Autism Spectrum disorders.

This book has given me insight from a different perspective. I have a 33 year old son who is communication handicapped. Seeing things from an insider's perspective is invaluable. There is a wealth of information in this book, and I am in awe of Temple Grandin's knowledge, accomplishments and down-to-earth attitude.

Temple Grandin and Richard Paneck have together written an excellent book that highlights the recent research and thoughts of the development of the autistic brain. For those of us who work in the field of education, the book confirms and expands many of our thoughts and experiences.

What I have learned from the wonderful Temple Grandin is that autistic people are not retarded but a little overwhelmed by higher intelligence. So has been my own oldest son. I can never repay you enough, Temple. Yours is the Lord's work. I have Aspergers, myself, and that hasn't been easy.

This book gives you insight to the lifelong autistic journey of the author, as well as the latest finding for the detection and treatment of the condition. It also includes helpful information for the parents of the autistic child. Don't get lost on the terms . Sometimes she can ramble on a bit. But the book holds a wealth of information.

Our Grandson is high functioning autistic and Temple's book helped me understand more about how he reacts to various situations, etc. Temple is very articulate and can explain things very well - she knows and understands herself. She is very bright and we are proud that she stands up for the austic community.

Doesn't seize on one answer-for-everything, but actually reads the pertinent technical papers, thinks about what their results mean, and sees how it all fits together with her and others' experiences. Not afraid to be wrong; if so, continues searching for the actual underlying reasons why things are the way they are.

I found The Autistic Brain, to be a very interesting read. Dr. Grandin and I share many of the same beliefs as how special needs children should be raised to be intergrated into our society. I recommend this book to anyone who is in contact with any autistic child or adult.

Temple Grandin certainly has a unique viewpoint on autism since she is autistic herself. I liked the book and found the new scientific data from MRI scans, etc interesting, however, I am in the educational profession. This book probably would not engage the average reader as it is full of technical research.
