Such a fun read. The relationship and two main characters were genuine. The main female character was witty, kind, and not at all annoying. While the main male character made you root for him the entire time.

I like Christina's books, but this did not really do it for me. I felt that Luke was a little to whiny or feminine acting at times. Really not an alpha male at all. I am an alpha male kinda girl and this was not it. Luke seemed like he was not sure what he really wanted in life. In general this book was more for teenagers.

Christina Lauren is my favorite writing duo. This is the 14th book I've read by them. From ballsy Chloe to quiet Mia CLo can develop a female lead like no other. London is no exception -- the beautiful all American girl that is content to surf all day and bar tend at night has an ocean of trust issues. She's beautiful and complex and relatable.

Her meet cute with Luke Sutter (yes yes THAT Luke... Mia's ex) is unexpected as is their budding relationship. But can can the ex of her friend turned man whore get London to drop the fortress she's built around her heart?

Luke has been focused on one thing since ending his relationship with Mia 5 years ago... sleeping with as many women as possible. But then he meets London at Fred's. After hooking up a few times he realizes his player days are behind him. But how do you move forward when you're surrounded by your past?

Luke and London are so adorable.
They trip and stumble and with a supporting cast of the usual suspects they try to find their HEA.

I can't think of a better group of book girlfriends I'd want to have -- over protective knee jerk reaction Harlow, Quiet caring Mia, and supportive creative Lola. These girls love their men but they will always have each other's backs and be reach others first loves. Now that they have incorporated London into their circle she's afraid of hurting them with her new relationship.

CLo weaves humor and emotion into a wild ride. While yes there was sex and their hooking up is a central theme for me this book was about more. It was about the relationship part, the friend part, how to go from hooking up to bring happy together. I loved this journey and now have to reconsider if Finn and Harlow are my favorite.

I'm sad to see this series ending I love all these characters so much but that's what the fanfic world is for and I can't think of two ladies more supportive of fic.

Wicked Sexy Liar is a sexy romance between a recently reformed playboy and a woman who's reluctant to be with him because of his sexual escapades. This book was fun, but it lacked a solid conflict and a real reason why the characters couldn't be together.

By day, London is a surfer chick and by night she's tending the bar at Fred's. As a rule, she doesn't go home with any of her patrons, until Luke saunters in and changes her mind. London doesn't act like the other girls Luke takes home, who try to land a permanent spot in Luke's life. In fact, she's cool and distant, determined to keep things in the friend zone despite being insanely attracted to him. It doesn't take long for Luke to realize that he doesn't just want to be her friend. But how does he convince her to give him a chance?

London and Luke's book was really fun to read. What I really liked was seeing Luke cope with having feelings for someone again after a tough break-up. After dating Mia four years prior, he hadn't really truly been with anyone or wined and dined a girl. He was completely out of his element with London, especially with her ignoring him so often—something he was not accustomed to at all. It was really adorable seeing him get nervous from being around her once he realized how he felt.

Luke's family was an absolute riot, especially his Gram and his sister, Margot. I really liked the scenes with his sister. His family gave him so much crap about being with so many girls, but it was almost too much. His manwhore trait was over-exaggerated to the point that it made his character unbelievable. I felt sort of bad for him because he really was trying to change and everyone, including London, kept throwing it in his face.

In terms of the steam factor in this book, I'd say that it was much tamer as compared to Lauren's other books. Christina Lauren writes such great sexual chemistry between the characters. I liked that we got to see the characters to get to know each other (outside the bedroom). They hung out together as friends and took time to learn about each other.

My main problem with Wicked Sexy Liar is that it lacked a strong conflict. When I say this, I don't mean I wanted more drama. Drama doesn't necessarily equate to conflict. Rather, I mean that there needed to be some other (or better) reason as to why the couple couldn't be together. The reason Luke and London couldn't be together was twofold: First, Luke is Mia's ex. Harlow went all Mama Bear when she found out London was dating Mia's ex. London didn't want to piss her off by dating Luke. Second, London has trust issues and didn't know if she wanted to be with a man whose phone was blowing up all night long with lady friends.

I had a really difficult time understanding why Harlow's opinion even mattered to her, especially after Mia gave London her blessing early on in the book. If London was concerned about Harlow's opinion of her, this could have been solved with a simple conversation. Also, I get that her ex-boyfriend and father were unfaithful and not good examples of how men should behave. But Luke didn't give her any reason not to trust him. In reality, he was doing everything he could to earn her trust and her heart. And lastly, if London was so busy acting cool and ignoring him, why did she even care who was texting him in the first place?

I just really wanted more believable, solid reason as to why Luke and London couldn't be together. The book was still enjoyable to read, but for being nearly 4oo pages, the book started to drag when there wasn't really a true problem for the characters. If something can be solved with a simple conversation that is delayed for hundreds of pages, my interest tends to wane.

I was hesitant to read Wicked Sexy Liar after getting to know and fall for all the guys in the previous books and I didn't think Mia's ex Luke could pull at my heartstrings as much as Ansel, Finn and Oliver did, but he was amazing and I couldn't help but fall in love with this character!

If you've read the previous books in this series you know that Luke is Mia's ex, and things didn't end well between them. Him and the girls grew up together and were extremely close, but after Mia's accident they broke up and he hopped from bed to bed "sowing his wild oats". No one expected Luke to enter their life again, and London (Lola's roommate) never expected the guy that finally she thinks she can give a chance to is her friends ex.

Things between London and Luke are sweet, funny, and definitely hot. There is something about London that pulls Luke in and makes him want to change his ways. Being with her you can see he's different, and he falls a lot faster than London does. It takes everything he has to get London to give him a chance and it seems every time she decides to give him a shot, something comes in the way of them getting their HEA.

When Luke falls he falls hard, and the way he feels about London is something he's never experienced before. He wants her, but respects her boundaries, and knows he needs to earn her trust. Granted, he doesn't do the "earning her trust" thing the easy way, and things get even more complicated between them. I loved his sister Margot and how she helped him see the error of his ways and gave him crap when he deserved it. Margot was a comic relief in this book and she really helped bring these two together, and I love her for that.

Harlow and Lola make appearances in this book more so than Mia, but Harlow is the one that is upset about the Luke situation. I understand he was her friend, and things didn't end well with him and Mia, but how she reacts when she finds out London was seeing him was upsetting to me. She pushed Mia and Lola to fight for their guys, but she gets upset with London. I know she was being protective, but I was upset with her at the time, but I'm glad she finally came around. Harlow is a character unlike any others so seeing her work on making things right was awesome to see and I'm glad she and Lola pushed London to make things right with Luke.

Watching both of these characters grow in this book from hurt and somewhat closed off, to opening up, and embracing life again was awesome. London worked and surfed and didn't want a relationship. With Luke in her life, she started going for what she wanted to do in life, and started opening up more and I really loved seeing this. Watching London open up with the help of Luke being in her life was beautiful to watch, as well as watching her open up about why she was so closed off. I understand she was hurt in the past, and if Luke was anyone else they would have given up on her, but no.. Luke broke down the barriers and barged right into her life.

Luke and London's story had many ups and downs, and moments where you just want to pull your hair out, but it was perfect for these two characters. I loved watching the playboy settle down and the loner find love. I also enjoyed getting to know more about "Not Joe" and finding out his real name! I really hope one day we will get his story, because I think he definitely deserves love and not to always be the sidekick to these amazing characters.

I highly recommend this book if you've read the Wild Season's series as well as if you haven't. Wicked Sexy Liar had me laughing out loud, and falling in love. I COULD NOT PUT THIS BOOK DOWN! As soon as I started I knew I wasn't going to be accomplishing anything else until I finished!

I have received this book as a member of the XOXperts, XOXO After Dark’s official street team, in exchange for an honest review.

My Review:
This has been just the best contemporary/new adult series out there, and I absolutely fell in love with London and Luke...who are both so messed up when it comes to relationships.

If you've been reading the series, you're familiar with Luke. He was Mia's boyfriend from the age of 12 until her accident when she was 19. For him, she was everything and after that he refused to risk his heart again. The end of that relationship broke him. To protect himself, he's since become one of the biggest manwhores around. And he's very popular. His phone is constantly buzzing with hook-up texts from women, it's hard for him to go to a bar without running into someone he's slept with...usually the bartender. The guy is a major player.

London is a bartender. She knows exactly what type of guy Luke, but all that experience and the fact that the women keep coming back means that he's pretty good in the sack. London could use that. It's been two years, and she sure doesn't have time for anything to do with a relationship. So when Luke propositions her, she says 'yes, but it's a one-time thing.' He's good with that...until he discovers just how much he likes her and how little she truly wants to see him again.

London is awesome. She's straightforward and blunt as all get out. She gives Luke a hard time about everything. She calls him on his playboy ways and doesn't let him get away with anything. I loved her. But despite his history, Luke is pretty awesome too. Yes, he uses women...in a big way...but that's just the superficial. Underneath, there's this great guy who used to be the best boyfriend in the world. That guy is still there and London is seeing more and more of him, which is so not good for this girl who was hurt by a cheating ex (he cheated for TWO WHOLE YEARS...and she had no clue...that's pretty devastating.)

I love the myriad of names that Luke calls her. The dialogue in this book was some of the best around. It was witty, and fun, and sarcastic. I kept laughing out loud and smiling as I read. This is the type of contemporary romance I love to read because it simply feels good. But there's a lot of depth and emotion to the story too...just because the characters' backstories are so heartbreaking. I loved how the two are tied together, too, although they don't realize it for a while.

It was just a GREAT story. I'm going to miss this series, but luckily I own it all in print so I can re-read it over and over again.

I received a complimentary copy of this book in return for an honest review.

Wicked Sexy Liar is book four in the Wild Seasons series. I'm addicted to this series, it has just the right amount of angst mixed in with the romance. Each book in the series has a different set of leading characters, but the ones in the previous installments make appearances since it's a group of friends. I love that it's done this way because it just builds the world so well.

London Hughes is a surfer by day and bartender by night. Her number one rule is not to date the customers. Of course, her rule didn't include hooking up with the playboy (Luke Sutter) that intrigues her at the bar. She never does that sort of thing but can't seem to help her attraction to him. That attraction goes both ways though and Luke Sutter can't seem to stop thinking about London. She's different from anyone he's met before and even a playboy can change his tune. This is the part that intrigued me though, you can tell Luke wants something more serious but London has commitment issues and wants nothing to do with it. The tables are turned and Luke has to figure out how to get her to trust him if they want their relationship to go anywhere. Toss in that he is London's friend's ex-boyfriend (she didn't know that originally) and you have yourself one interesting story.

Wicked Sexy Liar is an addicting read. This series grabbed me originally because it was a group of three girl friends and three guy friends that met in Las Vegas and wound up getting married to one another. Each book paired off the couples and told their story, so I was wondering who would wind up in book four. London is Lola's (book 3) roommate so we have seen her in the books before. I'm glad we got to see into her thoughts though since I had no clue she was so awesome. She has her flaws, which makes her feel real and easy to relate to. And oh my goodness, Luke's family was such a hoot to read about. I was laughing out loud by some of their antics. If you're a fan of contemporary romance and haven't read this series yet, I highly suggest it.

Luke and London!! It's about Luke and London.

Now, this took me a little by surprise, as London was really just a bit player throughout the other books - and we all knew who and what Luke was like!

I really didn't know what to expect with this pairing. But what I got... oh it was exquisite!

There is a beautiful chemistry between the pair. There is heat, there is passion. There is hesitance and reluctance. Wistful glances across the room. Every touch that could end up so much more.

There is a push-pull between them that never lets one get far from the other. I could understand their hesitance in becoming more (even if you haven't read the other books, there is enough information in WSL so you will understand), but each and every delicious page I was hopeful that this would be the page they would say "screw it" and go for it.

I loved that there was a slow, slow burn between our lovelies. Taking the time to really know each other, to trust, to love.

And another big plus for me - not big on the angsty feels from the characters not communicating with each other. They are what they are and they are forthright with it.

I adored that we got lots of the couples from the first three books.

This was definitely my favourite of the Wild Seasons books, and I think Luke has leapfrogged into second position in my list of favourite CL men - but still not overtaking my man Will Sumner.

Christina Lauren write beautiful, fun contemporary romance, and each and every one of them is an insta-one-click for me.

Now I am already impatiently waiting for what comes next from these amazing ladies.

That was downright painful. I’m not saying the story was bad. All I’m saying is that watching Luke and London tap dance around each other’s vulnerabilities while trying to protect themselves was very difficult to watch. Luke is sweet, but completely clueless how his actions are affecting other areas of his life. While London’s yo-yo-ing over how she felt about him left me dizzy. The sparks this pair strike off each other are dazzling, and I loved getting the chance to catch up with the rest of the girls and their other halves.

In February 2015, I posted my reviews for the first two books in the Wild Seasons series on the blog, but somehow I’ve skipped the third book – Dark Wild Night – and dove straight into Wicked Sexy Liar, London and Luke’s story in this sizzling and entertaining series!

I have enjoyed the books that I have read in this series so far, so it was no surprise that I enjoyed Wicked Sexy Liar. Both the main characters had been hurt by love before and were hesitant to go through that again. Luke was a bit of a playboy and slept around a lot since he split from his long time girlfriend. London was scared to let anyone in after how her previous boyfriend deceived her. Their first night together was supposed to be a onetime thing; Luke made a mistake that London didn’t correct him on, but she didn’t care enough to make it right. But I found when these two were together they were able to relax, leave their heartache at the door and be swept away in the moment.

I liked seeing their relationship develop, despite their denial about it. They both had feelings for one another but their pasts held them back. London found it hard to trust Luke but enjoyed being around him, seeing more to him than what he usually portrayed. Luke didn’t know how to deal with just one woman anymore. He’s used to being carefree and enjoying the pleasure of random women, but the more time he spent with London, the more she consumed his mind.

London and Luke’s story was told beautifully and I loved learning about them. I was able to see why they held back but together they faced some fears that they would avoid at all costs. I loved seeing all my favourite characters again from the previous books in the series and how their storylines entwined with Luke and London’s. The bonus story in the back featuring Not-Joe and Perry was fabulous too, and I cannot wait to get more about those two!

We are huge fans of Christina Lauren’s writing, their writing is flawless. A perfect balance of sexy and heartwarming moments and moments that will have you laughing out loud. We have enjoyed every book in this series and Wicked Sexy Liar is a perfect addition to the series.

London Hughes is cruising through life at the moment until she figures out what she wants to do with her degree. She surfs in the morning, works at bar of a night and hangs out with her new friends (London is Lola’s room mate) life is good, no relationships to make it complicated. One night at work she meets Luke, a hot and charming sweet talker with all signs pointing to him being a player. A rough day surfing puts her in a mood for her shift at the bar his charming ways and good looks are tugging at her sex drought, what better way to get over the drought than with someone who knows what they are doing right?

Luke Sutter is a player who has his career path mapped out he knows what he wants and is going for it. He hasn't always been a player and isn't your stereotype player, he is sweet and charming and hasn't quite recovered from a bad break up with Mia years ago. Meeting London at the bar his interest in her spikes, he wants but she doesn't make it easy.

The attraction and chemistry between Luke and London is off the charts. London was only in this for a hot night but Luke wants to get to know her. He has his work cut out for him, London doesn't make it easy she has trust issues. As much as she tries to keep her feelings out of it the attraction and chemistry keep pulling her towards him.

“I think I finally figured it out: falling in love isn't about who makes you feel the best, but who could make you the most miserable if they leave.”

Both of these characters are loveable and you can't help but be invested in their relationship as the walls that have been put up slowly come down. I (Kristy) wasn't a fan of Luke in Mia’s book but the more you get to know him, you can't help but fall for him. Deep down he's a keeper, he's sweet and sexy, charming and when he's in a relationship he's loyal.

This book was fun with so many moments that will have you smiling and laughing out loud. There are heart warming moments and the chemistry and steamy moments wrap this up to be the whole package. We would highly recommend this series! There is an added bonus at the end ‘Not -So-Short Short’ about Not Joe was a great touch.

We look forward to seeing what Christina Lauren come up with next.

‘Wicked Sexy Liar’, the fourth book in the Christina Lauren’s Wild Seasons series, was a surprisingly heart felt read. I say ‘surprisingly’ not because I would ever question not loving one of their books, but because I wasn’t actually sure that I could be convinced to like Luke Sutter knowing a bit of his past from the first book in the series, ‘Sweet Filthy Boy’. Honestly, the lovely writing duo did an amazing job in changing my thoughts completely!

London Hughes just wants an uncomplicated life. Focusing on her simple love of surfing and her bartending job, she is hiding behind a fortress she has created for herself unable to trust men and avoiding her future. Although Luke Sutter is working diligently at pursing his career, he continues to prove himself the ultimate playboy living only for the moment when it comes to women without any thought or conscience. He doesn’t realize how bad his reputation with women has gotten – much less the names or faces of half of the women that he has been with.

Both content with no relationship commitment on either Luke or London’s mind, they are both caught off guard when they meet and sparks ignite between them. As feelings evolve, Luke knows that he wants to have a committed relationship with London, but she knows his past and playboy ways with women. Luke is determined to prove to London that he is trustworthy, but in order for them to be together London will have to face her fear and step outside of her fortress to allow him into her heart.

I could probably carry on a little too much about Luke, because his character was such a pleasant surprise. I figured him to only be a shallow and arrogant playboy, but there was much more complexity to him. He was sweet, genuine, and charming, and l loved his close bond with his family. Once he began to realize the terrible reputation he had created for himself, he at once knew and made the necessary changes to be the better man. He also very admirably owned up to his past mistakes with Mia, and worked to redeem himself with Harlow and Lola knowing how it affected London. Luke was so incredibly patient and understanding with London, and his confidence and determination to prove his love and himself trustworthy was very endearing!

I enjoyed many aspects of London’s quirky character as well, but my feelings for her were kind of hot and cold. I actually admired her complacency with her simple life, and I understood her feelings in being closed off with Luke and men in general. However, I have to admit that I found her prolonged stubbornness very frustrating. Luke had me smitten in all the hoops he jumped through to prove himself to London, so it just annoyed me that she continued to push him away yet string him along for so long. It also bothered me how she avoided conflict so much so that she couldn’t even talk to her friends Mia, Harlow, and Lola about her feelings for Luke thinking they would judge her and she might lose their friendship. I just found myself irritated by her lack of courage throughout the story, but at the end of the day it did help with the angst in the story and led to a great ending!

One of the things that I always enjoy about reading books by Christina Lauren is how they completely cover the bases in writing the fantastic novels they do. They always find the perfect balance in creating their unique storylines with very endearing characters and topping it all off with sexy sizzle and their great sense of humor. When I pick up one of their books it is always with confidence of a great read to come, and when I finish I can’t wait to read their next. ‘Wicked Sexy Liar’ is no exception, and I highly recommend!

AudioBook Review:
Overall: Stars 4 Narration 5 Story 4

London is a bartender – a bit of a tough girl she’s solidly aware of who she is and what she will and won’t tolerate. With a solid group of friends from college, the ability to surf almost whenever she wants, and no lack of entertainment, a ‘relationship’ isn’t in the cards for her right now, and that’s just not a problem. But, one night is not a relationship, she’s an adult able to make her own choices and the one night rule comes with no harm no foul. And Luke, considering the number of women wanting a second night is nothing to sneeze at.

Luke is a card-carrying player with a string of women – most lasting no longer than the nearest sunrise. He finds London intriguing, and of course he’s ready for one night. But, when that one night has him thinking that he wants more ….that’s completely unheard of from him. But, much to his surprise, unlike the other women he knows, London isn’t interested in more…

These two are adorable together. The hoops that Luke jumps through to get London to see that he cares and wants more. It’s a first for him, not since his first serious girlfriend has he wanted more. And that brings up another problem: London and his first girlfriend Mia are friends – and that doesn’t sit well with London. It’s been a while, but does he still care? Sure, he says he’s all in and has created several pet names to call her, almost daily, and their conversations are wonderful, always leading to more ‘convincing of the naked version”. And yes, Luke does have a Ph.D., in convincing. Oh these two are just precious!

One of the better NA series that I’ve read / listened to over the past while. Moments that move seamlessly between sexy and snarky to raunchy in all the best ways, with plenty of emotion and a solid set of friendships that highlight every moment. Making the series even better in my opinion is the solid narrative performances by Deacon Lee and Olivia Song. They are cast with perfection, providing voices that sound and feel completely at home in the characters they portray with pitch, tone and sound of a group of 20-somethings. Emotional nuances, comedic timing and even pauses are placed with precision as the conversations did feel as if you are a fly on the wall listening, the interior moments where doubts creep in have the perfect pacing and pitch to bring it all to life. With each story in this series, the narration manages to fit both characters and story, adding to the experience in ways that enhance the experience.

I’m a fan of this series from this author duo, and I do believe that it is current and honest in the approach and the way the friendships and the romantic entanglements are portrayed. If you enjoy New Adult stories – that mix heart, humor and heat, this is the series for you.

I received an audiobook copy of the title from Simon and Schuster for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.

It’s no surprise that I love Christina Lauren. Their books always leave me breathless. They might be the only authors who I actually feel the need to reread the book immediately after finishing it for the first time (I’m looking at you, BEAUTIFUL SECRET). Now this? WICKED SEXY LIAR had me texting my friends immediately after because I just needed to share my pain/love/adoration.

“Falling in love isn’t about who makes you feel the best, but who could make you the most miserable if they leave.”

London has sworn off of boys, especially after her a-hole of an ex burns her badly. She’s really to herself, and for good reason. She’s not in the mood to start trusting guys, or herself. In the meantime, she’s living life on a sort of pause. She’s graduated and working at a bar when her real passion is in graphic design. She surfs in her time off, breathes in the beach like it’s the only thing that is solid in her life. But then there’s Luke.

“I think when I give my heart, I want to give everything. You make that decision, and it’s all or nothing, you know?”

Luke Sutter is charming as heck. But he’s more known for charming a lot of other girls, all of the time. This kind of image isn’t something London wants; she’s done with guys who don’t know what they want. But Luke does know what he wants; he’s on his way to becoming a lawyer and is incredibly driven. Then there’s London. London who he just gets, who gets him, and who he feels like he needs something more from than what she’s willing to give.

“She’s making me want something I haven’t considered in so long. Connection, stability, something familiar and just ours.”

Luke and London’s story really hits a lot of incredible points that I love reading about. You get characters who are either too scared to love, to be loved, or characters who just need to love, need to show that kind of adoration, need to be that person’s person. Then you get characters who are doing something for themselves, finding their own way, paving their own path and actually going after their dreams.

“Do we ever see the big things coming, though? A predictable life never changed anyone.”

This book is the definition of actions speaking louder than words. Showing up is always going to be bigger than speaking up. Christina & Lauren are masters of the important two H’s in romance: heat & humor. You’ll basically read a book of theirs and think: heck yes!

Do you need to read this book? Yes. Do you need to reread this book after you finish it? Yes. Will you fall in love with Luke and London? Undoubtedly.

Wicked, Sexy Liar by Christina Lauren
Contemporary Romance -Feb 2nd, 2016
4 1/2 stars

London Hughes has freshly graduated in graphics and web design from the University of California at San Diego. But to her parents are dismayed at the life she has chosen. For London decides to waste her time to surfing the waves by day and work as a barista by night. However, need the time to regroup. She needs to build her portfolio and nurse her recently broken heart. Trying to stay away from drama she doesn't expect the very charming player, Luke Sutter to proposition her. Especially since she has repeatedly if playfully turned him down. However, there is something indescribably sexy about the enigmatic Luke and London finds her lonely heart opening up to him. But his past of endless flings and women propositioning him has London leery of committing more. She feels he is like her cheating ex, she can't trust him. So, instead they decide to become friends but their attraction to each other can't be denied. Can London open her heart to Luke and take the chance on love again? Or will she let go of a wonderful guy just beginning to learn about himself.

This sweet, sparkling romance sizzles from the first chapter. London is a tough, free spirit that just wants to recover from a cheating ex and enjoy life again. If only she didn't find the man-whore Luke Sutter so appealing. Didn't she learn her lesson from her ex.? But Luke is funny, irreverent and never, ever bores her with his company. Plus he is soo easy on the eyes. Ever since Luke broke up with his first girlfriend he has replaced her with a sting of unmemorable one-night stands. But meeting the challenging London changes that all. She refuses to fall for his practiced charms. And when she finally does he notices he has tender feelings towards her -not the awful emptiness that makes him feel disconnected after sex. Determined to get London in his life even if they are just friends they both find themselves opening their hearts. I loved how the authors created a real relationship between the two characters. This story was touching. They both developed and grew from their failed relationships and recognized something better and more lasting. These two wounded hearts found a love, shelter and a rare honesty that made them fun yet poignant couple.
This witty romance with warm the hearts of readers as two wounded hearts find love again.

We finally get the fourth and final installment in the Wild Seasons series, which is Luke and London’s book! As bittersweet as I am to see this series end, Christina Lauren couldn’t have ended it with a more perfect book. I loved Wicked Sexy Liar. LOVED it!! I honestly couldn’t stop smiling the whole way through. Luke and London’s story was an absolute joy and pure fun to read. Once again, Christina Lauren has stunned me with another brilliant, intelligent, refreshing read – this time, about a girl and her friend’s… ex.

Following me with his eyes, he asks, “So is this no-dating-guys-you-meet-at-work thing, like, an actual rule?”
“Sort of.” I fold the bar towel and tuck it into the back of my apron, meeting his eyes.
“What if I promised I was absolutely worth it?”

We don’t know much about Luke or London in the previous books, and to be honest, I wasn’t sure how I’d feel about them going into this book. But right from the get-go, I fell so hard for these two. They instantly captivated me with their honesty, depth, and realness. Christina Lauren has a magical talent at writing characters who feel so genuinely real to me – there are so many hidden layers to each and every one of their characters, and as you unravel each one, you can’t help but grow to love that character.

Luke was the one I expected to have trouble with, but there’s something so lovely and good about him that I couldn’t help but love him. He may be a manwhore, but Luke is also so much more. He’s genuinely a good guy, but he’s buried away his hurt from his ex-girlfriend to give off this easy-going vibe that no one sees through until he meets London. London’s also got a messy romantic past, so to say these two are wary of relationships is an understatement. But slowly, through a budding friendship and a deep sexual connection, the both of them chip away at the walls around their hearts until they find themselves completely immersed in one another.

The slow burn in Wicked Sexy Liar is absolutely wonderful and the perfect pace for Luke and London. I was expecting the romance to include some crazy drama and angst, since Luke is London’s friend’s ex, but honestly, everything about this book was FUN. It’s flirty, sexy (so freaking sexy), sweet, funny, original, and just all around a feel-good read. I read this book in one day, that’s how totally INTO this book I was. And what I loved most about the romance was how much effort it took for Luke to win London’s trust, and eventually, her heart. Ahh, Luke just makes me SWOON!

"It’s sex, but it’s not.
It’s sex, but it’s more.
There are so many ways to love this girl; good God, let me find each and every one of them."

This newest book of Christina Lauren’s only reaffirms how brilliant these two writers are and how they’ll forever be my go-to authors for some incredible contemporary romances. Luke and London’s romance blew me away and is definitely one of my top favorites from this author duo. I can’t recommend this book – and author – enough. Everyone who loves romance just needs to read this book and experience how wonderful Luke and London are!

Wild Seasons series is a series of friends who had a blast in Vegas, and by that, I mean getting wickedly drunk and getting hitched. Realizing it was a mistake, they quickly annulled the marriage, but they all ended up friends and later getting to know more of each other. As cliche as it sounds, each story in this series is wickedly sexy and awfully sweet.

This latest and last release of the series, Wicked Sexy Liar is about London and Luke. Luke is Mia’s high school sweetheart, good friends with Harlow and Lola. London is Lola’s roommate. I know it’s complicated, and there was plenty drama to go around. Because Luke had history with Mia, Harlow and Lola was a bit protective of him and even a bit territorial. It wasn’t easy for Luke and Lola to get involved. Not to mention both their past with their exes jaded them to trust fully. There wasn’t much angst in their story, but there were plenty of issues and drama they had to deal with.

I tried to look at this book in a different eye. I attempted to look for things I didn’t like, and I honestly couldn’t find anything negative. I would’ve enjoyed a deeper conflict in the story but other than that, I was very happy with Luke and London. Christina Lauren managed to let their readers get to know Luke, who was viewed as a bad guy from the previous books. It was also easy to feel like these two belonged and I found myself cheering on for them to make it.

I also enjoyed the involvement of the characters from the previous books. Seeing them live their HEA was such a treat. One of the characters known as Not-Joe gets a little more page time in this book. We find out his real name, and we get to know him a little more. Of course not nearly enough. Though it is said that this is the end of the series, I’m still hoping that this is not the last we’ll see of Not-Joe or the rest of the gang.

5 Dreamy Luke Redeeming stars

I didn’t read the first two books in the series, I know slap me now. I am actually doing an audio read of the first one now. Wicked Sexy Liar is the fourth book in the Wild Seasons series and all the books are standalones. You don’t need to read the first book, but if you want more Luke or an understanding of Mia’s story then do what I am doing. Read Wicked Sexy Liar and then do the audio (or book, whatever tickles your fancy) of Sweet Filthy Boy.

Mia is focused on book one and Luke was Mia’s first boyfriend. The thing you have to know about Luke is that he was the PERFECT boyfriend for many years, but after a tragic accident that changed Mia, which resulted in their breakup, well, it also changed Luke too. He’s now a MAJOR player.

I read a lot of romance books and there are a lot of books where the Hero is depicted as the player, but you don’t really get that until you read Wicked Sexy Liar. I really loved how Christina and Lauren portrayed Luke’s manly ways, with all the texts and attention he gets from the female ladies. He really gets around.

London is a very likable Heroine. She’s had a bad past relationship and is NOT looking for anything, she doesn’t date, flirt or have one night stands, but there’s something about Luke that makes her want to break her last rule. Why not? And I’m thinking the whole time, WHY YES YES YES!!!! I really liked London, she’s a strong girl and she knows what she wants. Also, I’m a big fan of the Hero chasing after the Heroine.

The thing that I really enjoyed about this book was the chemistry between Luke and London. The banter and the slightly mild tension was just perfection in my opinion. I was glued to the pages and I read this book in one sitting. It’s never a dull moment when I pick up a Christina Lauren book, they know the recipe for a knock out hit. I got everything I wanted in a romance with epic characters, wonderful storyline and witty dialogue. I simply couldn’t get enough.

Holy smokes Batman! Wicked Sexy Liar was amazing!

It had all the things I have come to expect from Christina Lauren. The humor, the friendship and so much more. So, yes, this is my favorite in this series!

For those who don’t remember, Luke is Mia’s first everything. Luke was a devoted boyfriend until the accident. As we know now, Mia is super happy with Ansel. (Who wouldn’t, right?).

Luke decided it was too hard to give his heart again and he has never had another meaningful relationship since Mia. Meeting London threw him for a loop. She was different and when she thought he was a player, it bothered him. More than he cared to admit. She makes him want to be different.

London doesn’t trust men. Her boyfriend cheated on her. This event changed her. She can do “no strings attached” type of affair but nothing more. Luke represents everything she knows she has to stay away from. However, London has a problem dismissing him just like any other douchebag. She knows he is dangerous to her heart but avoiding him is not easy.

I do love both characters. London was still figuring out what she wanted from life. She had graduated but was still working as a bartender, surfing during the day and freelancing on the side. She was a hard worker, smart but she also had this vulnerability that she didn’t let people see. Falling for Luke was hard on her. She knew he could be trouble but she couldn’t stay away from him either.

I love Luke and his family. His relationship with his sister, mother and grandmother was super cute. I laughed every time his mother called him “Bubbles”. I love how tender Luke could be with London. He was funny, flirtatious and honest. I believe his character evolution was the best.

To Christina Lauren: Great job ladies!

I’ve enjoyed every book in this Christina Lauren series so much! All of them have been sweet, sexy and super entertaining. <i>Wicked Sexy Liar</i> is no exception. In fact, it may be my favorite one yet! It took me a few minutes of reading to remember exactly who London (Lola’s roommate) and Luke (Mia’s ex) were, but once I did, I was fully immersed in their story.

Luke is a bit of a player. Or he has been ever since he and Mia broke up years ago. He’s not your typical player though. He’s got that charming and sweet thing going, and he loves his mom, sister and grandma. His back and forth with his sister was one of my favorite things about this book!
London works in a bar. She has a degree in graphic/web design but isn’t using it. She doesn't do love or relationships. She was burned once, badly and hasn’t wanted to jump in since. Especially with a player like Luke.

As much as she tries to deny that it’s just attraction between the two of them, it’s not. It’s so much more. They have a great connection and some amazing chemistry. I loved the progression of both the main characters. It’s always good for me when I love both the hero and the heroine. And when a book can make me laugh and smile. Plus, I listened to the audio book and the narration was great as usual. I’ve listened to this entire series in audio and it’s one I would recommend listening to.

This book had a few heartwarming moments, made me laugh out loud AND was steamy and fun. Can’t ask for much more than that! I’m not sure if this is the last book or not. I certainly wouldn’t object to a Margo (Luke’s sister) book! 4-4.5 stars. This is one I would recommend if you’re looking for a fun romance. It can be read as a standalone, but I love the entire series!

This was excellent! I loved every second. Luke is the biggest sweetheart ever and I loved his and London's story. Perfection!

Luke and London were such great characters. Loved the introduction! I was immediately pulled into their world with the fun and easy banter they shared as well as amazing chemistry. It was flirty and playful. Everything was so entertaining and enjoyable to read. Luke has got to be one of the sweetest, most genuine characters ever, so caring and open. It was refreshing! Loved London as well, she seemed very real to me. I totally got her and her skepticism and where she was in her life. I loved learning their background grounds and figuring out why they ticked they way they did. It was really a great journey of self discovery for both as they open up and share and get closer and closer. I inhaled every detail! So freaking good! And these two together, when that playful builds and turns into hot? It's super hot! Seriously excellent story between these two.

Not only is there this story of Luke and London but one with Mia, Harlow, and Lola since there is a connection with Luke and their past. I really enjoyed all the wonderful moments they all shared as forgiveness and acceptance started to happen. These girls love hard and fiercely, I love how protective they are. It was really touching. There was a nice amount of angst and tension along the way as everything built, it perfect.

Fantastic writing! A truly excellent story that was engaging with sexy and fun characters. There were so many humorous moments laced throughout as well as some emotional ones. Luke's Gram is pretty amazing (seriously awesome one-liners!), I adored Luke’s sister, and I loved getting to see Not-Joe and finding out a bit more about him. I hate to say goodbye to the Wild Seasons series but I truly thought it was a great ending. Wonderful epilogue and the perfect last sentence to wrap it up as it all came full circle.

Another awesome read from Christina Lauren. 5 wicked sexy stars!

I really enjoyed Luke and London's story. They have a nice friendship going on in addition to the romance and attraction. If anyone can do that kind of relationship right, it's CL. The guy gets around, that's for sure, but he's not cruel about it and I felt for him and how he lost touch with some of his closest friends all because they sided with his ex (not that it's their fault or anything, it's just a product of the situation). It was nice getting to see his perspective on how things ended with Mia and how his life has been ever since. I easily connected with him and wanted him to get the girl.

I also really liked London's outlook on guys and how she handled relationships. She's not about the drama at all. Things are kind of gray because she's falling for an ex of a friend, but honestly, I was more on her side than I was on Mia's. I especially didn't care for Harlow's reaction to it all. I could've done without the girl drama, but it was necessary to get London to where she was at toward the end of the book.

As always, CL kept me engaged and entertained with their writing and their characters always grab ahold of me. I love them! Everything's pretty low key in this book, so if that's your thing, you'll get a kick out of their story. If nothing else, Luke's family will win you over with their craziness. They were straight out hilarious and I would totally read a book about that family!

I really like the way this series has evolved, starting with white hot erotic passion and morphing into romantic passion, encompassing a coming of age journey between all of the characters we meet throughout the four books in this awesome series. These two superbly talented authors have the unique ability to plot a story within a story that is slowly revealed in such a way that I didn't see the bigger picture they were building until this final book revealed it. Now, in hindsight, I realize that through these characters I have come to know and love, this is a moving tribute to the maturity of age and the emotional growth that encompasses the young adult genre and why it is such a popular romance genre today. They even added a cherry to the sundae by including a short story at the end of London and Luke's romance that reveals more about two minor characters we have met along the way. I'm secretly hoping there's a possibility of a full length book above these two sometime in our future. This series must be read in order; they are not stand alone books. I can't say enough good things about this must-read series and its' two awesome and talented creators!

I didn't think anything could come close to beating out Beautiful Bastard for my favorite Christina Lauren book. This one though, it came so so close. I love everything about this one.

Christina and Lauren have become one of my favorite authors. They write so well together and it works. The stories are never lacking and they are ones that stick with you long after you read them.

London and Luke were the two I didn't see being paired up but after reading this I couldn't imagine them NOT being together. There was enough resistance between them to make it believable but not to much to make it seem dragged on. It was the perfect blend.

If you need a reminder about Luke, he is Mia's Ex, she dated him before her accident and then broke up before the whole Vegas weekend trip in Sweet Filthy Boy. London lives with Lola and is friends with that whole group but only through Lola.

It started out as a fling but turns into more. It's one of my favorite story lines. I wasn't expecting to love Luke as much as I do. Once you read this you will too.

"There are so many ways to love this girl. Good God, let me find each and everyone."

I can't recommend this series enough. It is witty, endearing, laugh out loud funny, and flawless. The heroes are always ones to drool over and the heroines are ones you want as your best friend. Do not miss these books!

4/4.5 Stars | Hot Steam

Having recently discovered the sublime and obsession-inspiring Wild Seasons series by Christina Lauren—jumping in with book 3, DARK WILD NIGHT—I have since been irrevocably smitten and ravenous for more of the talented author duo’s unique brand of transcendent naughtiness. So, you can imagine the euphoria and heady anticipation I felt the moment WICKED SEXY LIAR landed in my giddy, fangirl hands! And, holy hotness, did this book deliver!

Smart, superbly written and sparkling with humor, heart, and endless charm, WICKED SEXY LIAR, positively swept me off my feet! I couldn’t put London and Luke’s story down—solidly immersed well into the night—entranced and joyfully besotted with their delightfully entertaining path to forever. With every page I fell harder and faster for the immensely appealing couple, their remarkable chemistry, and searing, enviable passion—reluctantly returning to reality only after re-reading and lingering over the novel’s happy and hopeful epilogue.

I’ll always enjoy the riotous Vegas trio of besties, Mia, Harlow and Lola. However, London’s winning personality stood out, surprised me, and swiftly surpassed all of my expectations. She is the kind of intriguing, worthy, and admirable heroine that you want to hug, emulate, and simply cling to. London is unobtrusively magnetic, bright, witty, self-reliant, self-respecting, and completely at home with herself. It’s freeing to read a female character that is unashamed of her body and unabashed and unapologetic of her carnal desires. She embraces it all and bravely and brazenly asserts herself with Luke—standing up for what she needs, wants, and deserves. I worshipped her for it. After he strolls into London’s life, you know he’s going to be great—so insanely wonderful—but I’m immensely pleased that London makes him work for it. Luke sweats and strains to earn her trust and love because he wisely realizes that she’s the one woman that warrants his all—his everything.

And Luke, mercy, that man! He’s a one-of-a-kind, mold-breaker of a hero so delectably sweet, irresistibly sexy, and hilariously and irrepressibly endearing that I couldn’t help but adore him—despite his initial entrenchment in Manwhoreville. Of course he has his pick of any willing woman any night of the week. He’s a stunningly handsome, talented, attentive, intuitive, and voracious lover. Who wouldn’t jump at the chance to tousle in his sheets for a feverish few hours? But, thankfully, with London, he’s different. She immediately, without any plan or effort, motivates him want to be a better man. Her goodness, spirit, strength, and sunny beauty is a startling revelation to him. She shifts his axis, his priorities rearrange, and he steadily regroups and redeems himself, maturing into the man he was always meant to be.

I loved this lusciously seductive sensation of a romance and couldn’t have asked for a more satisfying conclusion to the Wild Seasons series. My keeper shelf will just have to patiently wait a little while longer as I’m still pawing WICKED SEXY LIARS’s vivid, lawn-green cover, fondly remembering my favorite flirty lines and steamy scenes.

Christina Lauren has the ability to deliver a combination of powerful emotions from the very start. Wicked Sexy Liar is no different.

This book is based on London, the sassy girl that's is perfectly content with her place in life. Very easy going California girl who's humor has me laughing in public. Says it like it is and is sexy and awkward all at the same time which I just absolutely adore!

Than we have Luke, meet London and he's persuasive as ever and determined. Although this isn't one of the type of books where man want woman, man gets woman if he pushes his will onto her. Nope, there's an easy going, interesting dance between the two and we get into his head about how he's not quite sure what to make of London or what is happening between the two.

As the two come together, something indescribable happens along the way. With strong supporting characters that make their appearances throughout the book it's a fun and excited read. Than again, you know you can't go wrong when you're instantly bursting in laughter from page one. That is when you know you're in for a ride.
