Great book with so many twists and turns ! This book isn't predictable which I love. From the very beginning you become hooked. Emmy character is one that you just want to shake and say " What were you thinking? " because Kyle really is a ' you know what ' =P But as the book continues she becomes mature and strong.
Overall it is a great book and I loved the ending, how everything came together !
Highly Recommended =D

I loved this story, it was sexy, heartbreaking, and emotional.
Emmy the main character is a strong willed 30 year old women with a likable personality, her boss Kyle is a dick but it's more of a front, they end up having a one night stand that results in more than a one night stand, problem... he has a serious girlfriend holding dirt on him and his family and he kind of loves her.
Then comes Luke, he's sweet, smart and hot. Emmy sick and tired of being left alone finally agrees to go out with Luke.
Kyle is jealous even though he has his girlfriend. Will love prevail and Emmy and Kyle end up together or will the good guy get the girl?
I would suggest reading this story!

Good series, little frustrating with the love triangle. As the the book went on, I really didn't like Emmy, her confusion about her love hurt people. At the end of the book, when she finally finds that Luke has left her and Kyle has reached his breaking point and hurts her, she flees the country. Still hurting those who love her.

This story is not for those whom are overly sensitive to reading about characters who make human mistakes and suffer life-like consequences. There are many funny moments via dialogue, which is more believable when it comes to justifying the romance between the two possible outcomes, Emmy and Luke or Emmy and Kyle. I will definitely return to this series.

Flipping awesome! I accidentally read this book and purposely could not put it down. My household has been ignored all day due to this book. It was well written and the dialogue between characters was great! Who has not wanted to push their mothers head in Jello a few times in life. Great job, I have a new author favorite!

This story was different than most. I usually have an idea of how most books will end, I mean we all want a happy ending, right? This story had a happy ending, just not the way I had envisioned it from the beginning. I was pleasantly suprised! It drove me crazy that the heroine couldn't make up her mind and she almost destroyed her own happiness. I highly recommend

This book will kind of break your heart & make you crazy. You can really feel sorry for the lead character. But then you kind of realize that she doesn't really want anything to change. I liked the book, but towards the end, when the truth is finally revealed, parts sort of come out of no-where. Anyway - good book just sort of lacks background....

Finally a book with sex, but without the ridiculous details that are far fetched. The story line was very realistic and I honestly could not put it down. Emmy, I wanted to choke her the entire book because of her decisions but in the end the right end of the story played out. I was holding my breathe at points and the author did a very good job at making you fall in love with both guys and then revealing twists throughout the book to steer you toward the final decision. I honestly loved this story a lot.

This is my first stoory by this author. This story was captivating, funny, down too earth (i love down to earth) it was such an emotional rollercoaster, very intense. I simply got lost in the story, couldnt put it down. The author captures the meltdowns, the abuse and violence, pain, and hey none of it turned out the way i expected. Happy ending and all I loved it.

I thought the story line was great. Th book starts out great and I really wanted things to work out with guy one in the love triangle but after the story progresses I want guy two to be Mr right. I love how it turned out for the characters and thought It was a well written book with great characters. Some of the twists were heart wrenching and I really felt for the main character so I'm glad she got her happy ending.

While this book is fairly well-written, the characters are pretty unlikeable. The main character is ridiculously selfish and thoughtless, so I had a hard time relating to or rooting for her. I don't plan to read any additional books in the series.

I loved this book! Thank you, thank you, thank you for putting everything in one book! No waiting for the second or third one to come out. Such a welcome relief to be able to start and finish a book without months of waiting. Such a great read. I laughed, I cried, I was angry, I was happy. Oh, at times, if I could have only reached into that book and shaken the characters and asked them, "Are you kidding me?" You'll love it!

PJV Quickie: Although I do have mixed thoughts about it, Accidentally On Purpose elicited some very strong emotions from me, and ultimately, I'm putting this one in the "recommend" column although I think there might be many who disagree. Ultimately, Accidentally On Purpose worked for me.

Review
Emmy is an office manager for a busy office, and her boss Kyle is a real jerk. She's pretty much married to her job, so when she sees Kyle in her local bar she's not happy - she's trying to get over a particularly bad day at work. A few drinks later and maybe he's not such a jerk... and then they're sleeping together - oops. She starts to think maybe he's not so bad; but he's got a girlfriend that he can't get rid of because of her connections. So Emmy starts dating Luke, an attorney who works in their building. He's good to her and she really likes him, but she can't seem to let go of Kyle.
_____________________

There is no way that I can write an in-depth review of this book without giving away spoilers - with an "s", as in "more than one spoiler", so please forgive me for what may seem like a `fluff' review but I don't want to ruin it for anyone: Accidentally On Purpose has a few twists that really are game changers and kept me turning the pages as fast as I could. "What's that kids? You want dinner? Don`t we have any leftovers?"

I always laugh when I hear people use the term "it's complicated", but it totally applies here. I had a love/hate relationship with Emmy. You know that friend - the one who's smart and you love her to death, but where men are concerned she's just one bad decision after another - yeah, that's Emmy. She's smart on a professional level, but her personal decisions are going from bad to worse. 'Bad Decisions' doesn't even begin to cover it. BUT, one of the things that I liked about the story was that Emmy was able to learn from her mistakes and eventually grow into a better person... it just seemed like it took a lot longer than it should have. I should have some empathy for Emmy though, because I could feel Kyle's charisma rolling off the pages. I liked him against my better judgement - he was cheating on his girlfriend for heaven's sake!!

And then there's Luke. I guess you would call Luke a "beta hero", but I really liked Luke. Again, because of spoilers, I will say only that he's realistic - and sometimes realistic means flawed. But he's able to take a look at things, decide what he wants and make changes, and that makes him a great hero. I was ultimately pleased with how the book ended.
There were a few odd bits in the story that I couldn't figure out why the author put them in, but if you can look past that, Accidentally On Purpose is an intense read - I thought about it for days after I finished it. At $0.99 it's definitely worth giving it a chance.

Recommendations
Let me start by saying if you don't like stories where the hero or heroine cheat - skip this one; there's definitely cheating going on. But, if that's not a `trigger' for you (in books, not real life!!) and you're a fan of love triangles and stories overflowing with angst, I think you will enjoy Accidentally On Purpose.

This book was amazing! Definitely will go down as one of my favorites. And talk about getting such quality for a low price. This was just a buck lol But it was so worth every penny. Where do I begin? This book is so intense. So many ups and down. Its a story of love, cheating, being torn between different things. Being pressured under certain circumstances. I truly felt like Emmy loved Kyle & Luke. And I felt like they both loved her. I feel like she loved Kyle always a bit more. He's the one her heart belong too. At the same time my heart broke for Luke going through so much in his life to begin with having illnesses & deaths in his family. And on top of that being cheated on by Emmy, and knowing that she was cheating the whole time but yet stuck by her. And years later still takes her back and really tries to heal her wounds in a way. Kyle & Emmy remind me of a unrequited love. I believe they truly love each other too. But kyle was under such pressure from his father..into the family business & into marrying jessica who he didn't really love. He loved emmy. And he fought for her. But it wasn't enough. And throw hardcore drugs & abuse into the mix! This makes a really interesting read. It left me feeling heartbroken. I completely understand why emmy didn't take back Kyle. ::SPOILER ALERT:: if a man had beat me & was on meth I wouldn't stick around either. No matter how much we loved each other. Theres some stuff that just can't be reversed. Even though in the end emmy ends up with Luke and their married & with children and luke is a great guy and they seem happy and all. Still it left me feeling heartbroken. Such a beautiful, sad story. Never a dull moment. And i think i may just re-read it again cause i went through it so fast. Wish i would've savored it. I highly recommend this to anybody that just wants an intriguing interesting story. It has tons of drama, romance, sex, even comedy. You'll definitely laugh at stuff they say sometimes lol They all have a good sense of humor. Don't miss it!

This story was one that had me questioning Emmy. I am so happy how their lives ended and was quite torn between the two men most of the book, but still she turned my stomach with her acts of leisure. When a woman is in love she is willing to do just about anything to keep the man she is tied to, but when it comes to the expense of others...I am reluctant to follow through.

There are NOT a lot of spelling and grammatical errors in this book. Just saying that at the top. Who are these people who write that stuff???

Just wanted to say that at the top.

Regarding the story... It was interesting for sure. I normally don't read in this genre but I wanted to start and I bought this book after reading the first part of the sample pages (chuckling, just thinking back to the beginning of the story). What a great a beginning to this book! And it was great for me until some point where it began to be too much. LOL!!! Now, from what I can see LOTS of readers like that "too much" so I'm thinking it's the way of the genre. I know there's a lot of details about the story that I like. However, I didn't understand how it could be Luke's child when she's been screwing Kyle like crazy.... Didn't make sense to me. I DEFINITELY like the author's writing, her craftsmanship. Man, can she write. That's why I hate all that talk about spelling and grammar, which really I didn't see many, actually hardly any. And to find some you had to be seriously looking for them. Believe me. You're LOOKING for them. Because the storytelling draws you in and you're reading what you need to read to move forward. So basically, your ever powerful brain makes the corrections before you can even notice them. And even when the story started to lose me, I didn't so ALL those errors. Whatever.

It was a pretty decent read for me. But like I said, I'm not a fan of the sort of the drama that takes place in this story but that's just ME. It's stupid, immature, selfish drama. And actually, I find it to be a little unauthentic for people in their societal class bracket. But still, great writing nevertheless.

This book was everything and more. It kept me on edge and up until 2am reading it. I loved everything about this book. When I read about it I was a little but for .99 cents I thought, what the heck. WOW WOW WOW and WOW!!! You will not regret reading this book. It flowed very well with not too much detail but enough for you to fell all of Emmy's emotions. WAY TO GO!!!!

What a great price for this wonderful book I've paid way more for a lot less so do yourself a favor buy this wonderful emotional funny story. :)

This was a thoroughly entertaining read for me. I'm a sucker for a love triangle and almost always cringe at the moment that the infidelity is brought to light. Feeling the angst and pang of pain shooting through my heart...UGH! I hate that feeling...but then again, to evoke that reaction is definitely a good reflection on the author.

As mentioned before, this was an entertaining read. It had humor, sensuality, intensity, infidelity, sexuality and a dose of heavy reality.

There are so many relationships that entail abuse of all kinds and having it paired with drug abuse is honest. It happens...everyday...everywhere. People don't quite understand that while this isn't the most ideal way to tell a love story, it is a very real way to express the tribulations that one must go through (in fiction) in order to transcend.

Transformation is key in all stories. If it lacks, then why read it?

I thought that the our gal here made some absolutely ridiculous choices and who am I to judge? I prayed for her, wished for her to change her ridiculous ways, I cried for her lost love and raged against the crimes against her. I wanted her to make it and reading was my commitment to seeing her through to the end. Because no matter what, I always wish for the best for the characters I read about.

No one is deserving of such treatments but alas, that makes for a great story.

If you don't have an open mind and a strong stomach, this may not be for you, but I couldn't put it down until I was sure that this was going to end happily.

Great read on any day!

After reading multiple romance novels with unrealistic characters with unrealistic jobs having unrealistic sex, this was refreshing. The characters and situations could be me or any of my friends. The author does a great job of expressing the characters emotions without overdoing it or making it cheesy. It's funny, dark, and sexy. I ended the book with a smile.

Her parents flew to comfort him when his father died. Then she named the kid after Luke's dad but then when the family met the baby both parents were there...is he dead or not? And how beautiful rich she is but wears sponge bob underwear. Had hoped it would be better but such cheesy writing that made u laugh.

I purchased this book from the raved reviews I read, hince again, I will not purchase books anymore based on reviews, cause peoples tastes are different, & clearly their tastes are different from mine. I'm not saying this book was bad, but a literary masterpiece it wasn't!! Emmy, she was just all over the place, with her emotions, her flip-flopping. I couldn't connect with her, the author did make her loveable to me, she just seemed selfish. She had a man that loved her & would treat her right, but of course, she wanted what was bad for her, Kyle. Ok, give the reader some drama, I don't expect the h to b perfect, but Emmy was just unlikeable to me, sorry. And I just didn't understand her "issues", why was she so messed up? Is it because of her imperfect relationship with her mother, because she's 30 & not married, I just got tired of trying to figure her out! Then for Kyle to do what he did to her out of the blue?? He needed to be in jail, instead at the end, everything is worked out. It just drained me. The only character I liked was Luke he is the redeeming character of the book.

I wasn't that fussed, gramatically it had errors. I thought the author was trying to write a sensational sexual novel.
It was easy to read and I never put a book aside, I always read to the end, amazingly the end was much more focused and readable than the first half of the book. I'll try the Author again............

ACCIDENTALLY ON PURPOSE is full of all the drama you crave in a soap opera but never want to have in your own life - I much prefer to get my fix thru reading about it!

I quite enjoyed this love-triangle romance and would recommend it to anyone looking for a different angle on this very popular romantic theme.

Initially I was a little frustrated with Em with her choice. Eventually, I was on the roller coaster, besides the frustration, I laughed at the comedy moments of the conversation between family and friends. I like the way the novel was written. By the middle of it, I got caught on. In true life, human sometimes make senseless or illogic especially in relationship. And many times, the heroine has the right mind but not the reflective actions.

Thumbs up!

I love the story it was believably because she made the decision of a mother. I really liked kyle at first but he was not good for her. He wanted the position with the job more than he wanted emmy. I love how the story ended I like how Lucas loved her with her flaws but was not willing to take her anyway he could get her. I will read more of the author's books.

Accidentally on Purpose has everything I love in a book. It was funny, crazy, sad, and even had a happy in there somewhere. I love angst. Love it. I'm addicted to it. I love a good build up. I couldn't put this book down. It is loaded with drama, but it is also hilarious!!! The banter between the characters is great!

"Kyle was my boss, and a dick."

Meet Emmy. She's 30 years old, witty, single, living in her childhood home, and is currently working for a "dick." One night after work Emmy decided to get plastered at a local bar. Out of the blue, the "dick" comes walking in and decides to drink with her. They end up sleeping together. Little did she know that would be the night that would change her life....forever.

"He was the last person I wanted to see. I couldn't even be an alcoholic in peace."

Kyle (the "dick") is Emmy's boss. He's rude, rich, and has a serious girlfriend. After his one night with Emmy, he's becomes obsessed with her. The two of them develop a sexual relationship that they try to hide. He is very possessive and jealous. Emmy has convinced herself there is a softer side to Kyle and she falls in love with him.

"Who lives in a pineapple under your jeans?" He sang softly. "SpongeBob booty pants!" He ended his little song with a soft slap to my rear.

Luke. Luke, Luke, Luke. I loved him. While on hiatus from Kyle, Emmy starts to date Luke. He was really good to Emmy. My heart broke for him. He made me laugh, cry, and smile. I wanted to strangle Emmy, several times.

"I love hairy legs on my woman," Luke said, still caressing my leg. "I love getting my fingers all tangled in your long, coarse leg hair."

I really recommend this book. It is a roller coaster ride from beginning to end. It's only $.99 for kindle so you can't go wrong. It does contain cheating, so if that's something that turns you off then this is not the book for you. I can't wait to read more books from L.D. Davis!!!

I loved this book, the characters were all so real and I liked them even Kyle "the dick" honestly. I love strong women characters, and while the lead female character had a few weak moments overall she was a strong female character with strong female friends and I especially loved her mother (and the heart to heart she had with her mom at the end of the book. I highly recommend the book and will be buying any other ones the author has as well as be on the lookout for future books. Well written I thought, kept a good pace and kept me engrossed the whole time.

I thought a lot before writing this review because while the book is very well written with a pace that makes you do not let go until it finishes, it is very disturbing from the point of view of the (lack of) character of the two main characters.

I was very ambivalent about the heroin Emmy ... is difficult to read the book without wanting to wring her neck, it is difficult to understand how someone may be able to use another person the way she did ... Yeah, like I said it's hard not to judge her ... I had to remind myself all the time that we are all human and fallible, and that this kind of situation happens in real life all the time.

For that comment you can see that the author is good. She created real characters that inspire feelings of anguish, sympathy, anger, compassion all at the same time.

I was expecting the standard romance with hero and heroine falling in love, facing some obstacles and finishing happily ever after, so it was a like receiving a kick in the stomach! It is not standard... it remind us all the times how people make mistakes and hurt themselves and others in the name of love.

Very good!

Emmy has been an administrative assistant for Sterling Corp for years. She originally worked for Walter Sterling until he passed her own to his son, Kyle. Kyle has always been a dick to his employees. One night Emmy and Kyle have a one night stand that turns into Kyle and Emmy being snowed in together. Things go well between them, the only problem is that Kyle has a steady girlfriend.

SPOILER!
Emmy and Kyle continue to hang out and end up sleeping together again. Only problem, Kyle refuses to dump his girlfriend. Emmy then meets Luke, and decides to start dating him, while she continues things with Kyle. Emmy finds that she really likes both men and won't end things with Luke because Kyle won't end things with Jess.

Luke finds out about Kyle and breaks things off with Emmy and moves to Chicago. Emmy then finds out she's pregnant and lets Kyle continues to string her along until one awful night!!

This story is about true love and making mistakes and being able to come back from abuse. I found myself going back and forth between who I wanted Emmy to end up with and ultimately I was surprised by the ways things ended.

Great story!!

It was so true the kind of relationship this book writes about and it made me angry at Emmy and at Kyle but then just at Kyle but i loved it and was told by my husband i was nuts when i was yelling at the characters in the book so when you get that wrapped up in a book you know it's a winner

I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED this book! It was nicely written with a great story that was different and I liked that a lot! It mad me happy, sad, angry all in one! Not to forget to mention that how freakin SEXXXYYYYYY this book is! Emmy is crazy and made me angry a lot of the time for her choices, but I did start feeling bad for her and start to love her character.

But WOW Kyle and WOW Luke--Oh LUKE!

I have to admit at first I was on team Kyle, but after he could not make a smart decision and she found Luke. Boy ol boy--wow bye bye Kyle lol!

Luke is so sexy, sweet, smart and confident. I loved him and his family. I could not say the same about Kyle. Don't get me wrong he was sexy, but his character...in my opinion was questionable. Seeing how she was in her 30's--it seemed as though Luke had is crap together and was ready for the future as for Kyle he could not think on his own and men like that repulse me.

Loved this book so much! a DEF MUST READ. One of my favorites, because it was different from a lot of books.

This book kept me hooked from the beginning to the end. I like Emmy's wittiness. The banters between the characters made me laugh especially the ones that came out of Emmy's mouth. Emmy's indecisiveness had irritated the crap out of me but the ending made out for it. This book is something I'm gonna revisit in the future. ....I 'm in love with Luke!

Accidentally on Purpose was a pleasant surprise. I think it was either free or $.99 on the store. I didn't expect much, but I was wrong. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It is well written and to the point. There wasn't lot of unnecessary writing to prolong the story. I was very entertained by the story. I was surprised by the events that transpired and wondered why Em did a lot of the things that she did, but I got that she was broken. Probably due to her mother's attitude toward her. She was a strong, independent woman, but also so weak when it came to men and sex. Unfortunately, I think there a many women out there like Em.

I fell in love with Luke from the beginning. He was so wonderful in every way and I was devastated by what Em was doing to him. My favorite part was when he broke up with her, and the way he did it.

Boy, that Kyle is a piece of work. I shocked by the revelation revealed about him at the end.

The epilogue was awesome, just how I wanted it to end. I recommend this book.

Okay,so I initially the writing style drove me nuts. I felt that the author forgot key pieces and then rushed to explain them. New characters were thrown in with rushed explanations. Around part 2 I started to settle in and enjoy the book. It was worth the work and finished with a 4 star rating.

This book was a little different from the norm. The subject matter covered domestic violence so some parts are very intense. I didn't enjoy the book as much as I normally would have as I usually like "feel good" romance stories. However, this book is a good read.
