Awesome book. I feel like I was watching a movie. Davis did a great job describing the characters and their feelings. There was plenty of laughter and jaw dropping drama. Love it. It's a great read and well worth the download! Great Job!

Four lip bites. WOOT! I really liked this book. It made me LOLz all over the place. L.D. Davis sure does know how to write a biting wit for her characters, especially the female characters.
Lindsey is very real in this book, that's one of the better traits in Davis' writing style. She can really capture a person's emotions, reactions, and humor. There are undercurrents with this book that are very series. Davis has had a theme of physical abuse with her female protagonists. The abuse doesn't define Lindsey though. In fact, she really pushes it off when dealing with it. Her defense is definitely her humor in regards to her ex-husband. I read some other reviews that the abuse wasn't forefront and not taken seriously enough, but in this case of Lindsey's character, it's very apropos for her to not face it full-on. I think it was part of her character's personality to treat everything with humor and not be serious all the time. That's one of the things I really loved about this book. Lindsey is very strong even if she doesn't know it.
Add to the mix, a hot attraction to her co-worker,Rhys (another theme from L.D Davis, co-workers falling in love). The two start a no-commitment relationship even though they are very committed from the get-go. Rhys has demons that hold back his journey to move forward. You really don't see these demons for a while which irked me for a little. The story comes to a head when Lindsey leaves and moves to California. She learns that Rhys isn't enough for her to stay since he can't get over his inner turmoil.
What I wasn't hot with was the ending when Lindsey's ex shows up again. I feel like his character wasn't developed enough and the obvious threat of his appearance didn't make sense because of this. I wanted a little more at the end, but the was content with the story overall. Davis can really write a sex scene and I think her characters can really take a scene and come alive. I will be reading more from L.D. Davis soon!

I just finished Pieces of Rhys and ABOSOLUTELY FREAKING LOVED IT!!!!!!! One of the best ones that I have really read in awhile. This book has it all. You will laugh your freaking butt off, you will fall in love with all the characters and you will just have a really good time read this. Lindsay and Rhys (SIGH) Yummy!!
(FYI, pronounced Reese). Rhys and Lindsey work together, have for a few years and Lindsay has always wanted him. She is divorced from Gary (a real abusive douche bag) and is now I guess kind of ready to be in a relationship. Sorry, I guess not looking but if Rhys offers, hell she is not turning it down. Rhys is a guy that plays the field a bit and doesn't want a relationship but is really digging Lindsay and one thing leads to another and they basically become friends with benefits. I'm totally for it, especially if it is Rhys. The title is really apt for this because she really only get pieces of Rhys. He has his secrets and to be honest I understand him and you will too. He was so freaking hot and sexy. Makes my heart melt. Lindsay is so sweet and with all that she went through, was honestly able to come back from it with her head held high and just totally made me laugh my head off. HILARIOUS!!! You will get a kick out of her. I loved how with all the characters you were able to distinguish from each one, all having their own personalities. They all just really meshed well together. Also the sexual tension, shoot, it gets you there too.
The story flowed really well and to be honest, what I loved most of all was that it was real.
It sucks you right in that when you are reading it you are so engrossed in the story that I forget some things and when they appeared just shocked the hell out of me.
MRS DAVIS, having the pleasure of reading your other books, am just impressed with what you write. Im in awe of what you can do with your characters and the story, you had me at "in due time" (wink, wink :) )
You honestly do not want to miss out on this, hell her other books as well. You will get what you pay for and then some!!!

The tragic cover takes away from the fact that this book actually has a decent plot and is pretty funny. First of all,Lindsey is a hot mess. Lol, this girl is a stalker, but as the story progresses, you realize it's not because she's crazy. She just has some issues when it comes to relationships and sort of stalking the guy that interests her is a safe option for her. She turns out to be really sweet, funny, fun, and tough. I actually ened up really liking her. Rhys was a cool dude. He was sexy, but not without his own hang ups. When these two come together, you get a really nice sort of contemporary romance story that actually makes you laugh out loud and smile. It's simple, but worth the read.

From the start I was concerned about what I gotten myself into. Lindsey is a very different character, and it taken a moment to feel out her character. Rhys on the other hand is everything that we could wish for: handsome, gentle, and dedicated. Even though, this story circles his insecurities he is dedicated to caring for Lindsey regardless. The story flows quickly, and was over before I new it. Overall it was a entertaining read, but lacked the necessary for a memorable story. This is fast, easy, and fun. ~BookWhisperer Reviewer Jo~

This book was awesome! The characters were flawed and yet believable. I loved the witty banter and real life reactions. I really could identify with Lindsey and her insecurities about her weight. Excellent read, story is fast paced and takes you on one heck of a ride!

Seriously great! Unlike many other indie authors, this book was very well written and even had an ORIGINAL story line. For all you fans of characteristically funny indie books, you need to pick this one up!

I laughed, felt like screaming, shook my head in exasperation while readings this book. I loved it. The characters were entertaining well developed. I would take either one one of her hot men and could easily imagine Gary behind bars where he belongs. Found another author I want to follow.
