Like other King shorts Cujo is quick, somber and borderline disturbing. A convoluted mess of a story, this book twists the reader through many emotional journeys that show no signs of relief. Yet, it is impossible to put down with King 's chilling ability to weave researched facts into an overwhelming monster, and a story so convincing I could believe it may have happened in real life. Not what I would call a "must read" by King but for a fan like myself, it was worth the read.

Cujo was a fantastic read not only because of the dog but of the solid character study and the individual problems the characters face within their own worlds. Put it this way, Take out Cujo and I still would have enjoyed the novel..hands down, make that paws.

So many of Stephen King's stories are about things I initially can't imagine he will be able to keep a reader in a virtual fever pitch over, or even sustain their attention for the entire story, but he does. Not only does he keep the reader's interest, but he astounds us with his ability to convince us that what we are reading is believable. You know what the story is about, and yet you still are on the edge of your seat waiting for more. That's why he is the Master.

A reminder that there are indeed monsters in the world. However, Cujo wasn't evil. He was just sick.

I remember reading this for the first time as a junior high schooler. it was an amazing reread.

Not sure how I missed this one originally. A typical Stephen King story the characters come to life and as always the detail when describing either people, situations is second to none. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys a well written novel.

Ordered by mistake while trying to purchase a different King book, thought to myself "oh no - how can a story about a rabid St Bernard dog be any good" but, as usual King manages it, turning the cuddly pooch into a crazy canine.
