I enjoyed this series immensely. Great stories and good writing. I love the bond between the sisters. I love how the men gave in to what their feeling and fought to keep their women. It's nice to see men vulnerable. Although I love them all, my favorite is Some Sort of Love.

Of course another great book by Melanie. You know how to bring all sorts of feelings to come right out of the book. I love how you write about real life situations. The good and the not so good. Great job. Its a must read like everything she writes

I loved this series and the author. However, out of the three books this one was my least favorite. It just seemed like they had too much sex when I wanted to read more about their connection. I also wished that there was more interaction between Jillian and Scotty. But still a great book.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review...

The feels...

Jillian and I are kindred spirits...

This is quite possibly the best book Melanie has ever written. I laughed, I cried, I swooned, I fanned myself.

Some Sort of Love is the last book in the Happy Crazy Love Trilogy. It's the story of the oldest Nixon sister, Jillian. She's successful in everything but love and relationships, of which she's had few. She runs into Levi Brooks, a guy she drunkenly hooked up with in a janitor's closet back in college, at her sister Skylar's wedding. 11 years later, he's not the person she remembers. He's become strong and broad, sporting this full beard that she fantasizes feeling all over her body. During a reunion over drinks at the wedding, Jillian discovers Levi has an 8 year old special needs son who has autism and is actually a single parent, struggling to make it through life.

Jillian is just how Levi remembers her...long legs, beautiful eyes and a neck he could kiss for days. For years he's wondered what became of her and decides to pursue something with her, but he warns her that his son, Scotty, takes priority, explaining that there are good days and bad.

After just one short month, the pull between the 2 is so fierce, but Levi doesn't know if he can love her enough and still be the father that he is, having experienced abandonment.

Some Sort of Love had me crying so many times, some good tears and some heart wrenching. I would give this book 10 stars if I could, and I would recommend the trilogy to any fan or reader of romance. This trilogy deals with some very relatable situations, including OCD, anxiety, austism, life struggles, frustration, loneliness, envy, all of it. Melanie has outdone herself!

SPOILER ALERT: I really enjoyed the previous books in the series but I thought this one fell a bit short. The idea is a great one...a workaholic pediatrician meets a man with a special needs child and they need to find a way to make it work. First, there was never any reference to Jillian's actual work in the book. There was talk of her working long hours but there was never a mention of the patients she saw or any that touched her heart. Suddenly her biological clock goes off and she wants a man and lots of sex. Enter a man from her past with whom she had a sizzling one night stand. He is a single father dealing with his son's autism and feeling as though he isn't doing enough. This could have been a much better story if they had introduced Jillian to the man's son in more than just the last few pages of the book. She wants to be part of his "real life" but the introduction, when it FINALLY happens, goes too smoothly and there are no scenes where she experiences the trials that he has to go through. I think it could have been much better. Also, in the previous books, each of the men was supportive of the woman's hopes/dreams. That wasn't the case in this book at all.

The book started off great, I love Melanie Harlow's books, especially this series. I loved Jillian from the previous books, but honestly I didn't love Levi. I empathized with him as the parent of a child with a disability. The heart wrenching guilt, the second guessing, the self doubt is all very familiar and really tiresome after a while. While his desire to give his all to Jillian and his son is well intended, the road to hell and all that.

By 50% of the book, Levi's need to keep his relationships separate was just self indulgent and whiny. By 75%, I was hoping she would dump him and move on the another man who was willing to let her in and deserved her affection and loyalty, I love myself a happy ending, and I'm glad they had one, but I wonder where the relationship will be in 10 years. In 10 years, when his son is teenager, their own kids are in elementary school and sex is something that happens between laundry and the family movie night, how he will deal with it all.

I did love Harlow's realistic portrayal of a child with autism, seeing the secondary characters, and the overall book.

This is well-written just not what I usually enjoy. The relationship Jillian and Levi have is of the insta-love variety with a foundation based on their crazy sexual chemistry. I didn't feel like I got to know their connection much beyond that.
Separately Jillian got to lean on her sisters to grow as a character, and we got to see a bit of what it was like for Levi to be a dad, and interact with his family. I guess this would have been a more satisfying read if Levi & Jillian had been able to spend time together exploring more than their sexual connection, so that their connection as adults who were in love was more clear.
