A Girl in Time

Highly recommended & Delightful Adventure! After spending the last year plus reading sci fi, dystopian and zombie books of all varieties, I was supremely happy to encounter, download and read “ A Girl in Time”. Very enjoyable story and couldn’t put it down - totally absorbed and read it in a few days. Big thumbs up to John B and look forward to a future sequel!

Good stuff by JB, just enough twists and turns to make it interesting without impossible plot lines. I can hardly wait for the next instalment where our intrepid time travellers meet demons from the underworld and run into that dastardly cabal known as the Clinton Family.
Great introductory price too, I thought it might just be a novella, but it was the real deal.

Although a familair trope he does well with the characters makes you care. It ended a bit abruptly. Hopefully there will be sequels. BTW there is a alternative time line set in America or is there?

Fast moving action story with a couple of interesting period backdrops and strong female characters, plus a few topical political points in JB’s usual alternative history style. A decent read and looking forward to further adventures...

Time travel is fun. I recently read another of Mr. Birmingham's other time travel books, Weapons of Choice, and enjoyed that book. However, the book A Girl in Time, seems to have been mostly written in the last year or so, and then some names and situations placed in the framework. The subject matter is fun, and mostly the book is a good read, except for the fact that since Mr. Trump was elected, it would seem that the author plugged in his thoughts on what a Trump presidency would look like, and folks it ain't purdy. Mr. Birmingham seems to have written a time travel novel simply to spout his political leanings, and that pretty much makes the entire book, the entire premise, a lot of baloney - political baloney. Pretty much spoiled the book. This tendency to insert real-life issues into books seems to becoming more prevalent, and it ruins the experience of reading the book and cheapens the author's efforts.

John Birmingham writes a damn fine plot driven page turner with plenty of pop culture references and action, but not too serious. I've read them all. A girl in time was just the holiday read I was looking for! Why not give it a whirl?

John Birmingham raises the bar again with his latest offering. I've read lots of JB's books and, like the others, this is a rip-roaring page turner. Don't start reading A Girl In Time unless you are prepared to clear your schedule.

I really enjoyed this book. Characters were developed nicely and there was a nice balance of scientific concepts and society at different times. I particularly enjoyed the thinking about US in 2019, very timely at the start of 2017.

As always, John Birmingham's book are such an exciting thrill ride of thought provoking concepts.. wrapped up in mystery, terror, excitement and wonder.. that I missed Christmas by spending the entire day reading this book! I'm going to have to go back in time myself to appease the family!

Birmingham does not disappoint in his new time travel offering. He presents complex interesting characters along with an action driven plot. Can'the wait for the next book in the series. Hurry John!

Awesome as always John, GiT was just a fantastic read. Love, loss, time travel, redemption and one kickass cowboy. What more could you ask for? 5 stars.

Quirky look at multiple time streams and alternative histories from an author whose every book series is as different as the last. Recommend this book and hope that JB gets off his hovercraft and produces more in the series very soon.

Birmingham does it again with a new series even more enjoyable than his previous storylines. Having followed his work sine Leviathan I'm so happy to have a new line to follow. Bring on the next instalment!
