A Time Travel Romance (The Swept Away Saga Book 1)

If you enjoy immersive books like Outlander, don't read this one. It really feels like any historical research consisted of watching Pirates of the Caribbean. There is a lack of realistic world building and lack of any consideration of what it would really be like for someone traveling back in time, especially in regards to language and culture. The characters are one dimensional and sometimes downright stupid. I was thoroughly disappointed and didn't finish it. It is probably enjoyable for someone in their early teens, but if you are used to well researched time travel books, don't bother with this one.

Fantastic!!! I couldnt put it down. There were quite a few elements in this book that reminded my of my favore childhood read, "The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle." While billed as a romance I felt it was more of an adventure novel. Absolutely loved it.

I finished all the Outlander books twice and was looking for something new. Spoiled by Gabaldon's writing so it is hard for me to pick up just another book, but I absolutely this series. GREAT WRITING and story line.

All the starred reviews, and I have to wonder what I was missing. I'm about 50% finished with the book and deciding to give up. The first part is SLOW (present)... so painfully slow. Now I know why most time slip books, the slip happens early on. Then we have the subterfuge on the boat(s)! Not once but twice. I found this kind of impossible, especially the second time... there is difference, there is bathroom needs, etc. I like the premise of the book, and I think the story could have been good, but the repetitive nature of the narrative and the pacing of the book was just too slow for me.

Also the cover looks great, love that it was a professional finished product.. .but the emaciated (rib showing) girl in an evening gown... doesn't even fit the story. She was in jeans, and the emaciated part- well not sure about that one but seems that the ribs are a bit over the top.

This book was formulaic and not memorable. Girl meets pirate; pirate has heart of gold and saves girl. Girl and pirate fall in love, quarrel and make up. Boring. I like time travel fiction that immerses you in another time and creates vivid pictures of the past. This does not do that. Nice descriptions of battles on pirate ship but that's about it. Characters are not well developed or interesting. Maybe it is meant for a teenaged audience?

Wow, right off the bat the author throws in the feelers in this story. I was intrigued and reeled in while bawling like a baby for the main character in the story. This was quite to start out the beginning of an amazing and wonderful journey.

Mystical, magical, pirates, gold, legends, and a past so full of history with a mix of myths. I will add that some of the truths were stretch a little to fit the story, but it made for a perfect match. This book was extremely addicting read. I never saw what was coming in this story until it happened, which made this story that much more unique and enjoyable. The characters were amazing and made this a phenomenal page turner. I simply fell in love with this story and I highly recommend it to all who love a great love story with quite the unforgettable adventure in it.

What an amazing adventure this book was. It really kept you on your toes while reading it. The story lane was interesting. But it threw some time travel,in there and some romance. Was a good mix of everything. Loved reading this book and will read it again. I recommend this book to everyone.

WOW -- Kamery Solomon has out done herself; this is her best book so far.

The main character of this book -- Samantha -- goes to visit her father (who was not a part of the majority of her childhood). Her late mother's dying wish was for Samantha to visit her father. Samantha's father is a treasure hunter who is spending his life and money on searching for the treasure pit on Oak Isle. While visiting her father, she too becomes addicted to this search. I don't write spoilers - but, this has got to be one of the most amazing stories that I have read recently!!! It is a story that will pull you in and make it almost impossible for you to stop reading. And, when you reach the end of the book, you will wish for more!!!

5 stars? Why? Because it was just awesome! That's why and when something is that good to me I give it what it deserves! I will admit that the first couple of chapters made me anxious I wasn't bored but I guess my inner fangirl couldn't stand the wait anymore, the wait for my lovely pirate! And i must say the wait was worth it! This book is just worth the time! The adventure , the romance, mystery, suspense, pain I felt! Almost every emotion was featured! I just simply loved it! Great read!

I absolutely loved Swept Away! Kamery Solomon takes you on an adventure that will leave you on the edge of your seat wanting more! If you want a fun adventurous story then I highly recommend this book for you.

All I have to say is greatest time travel historical ever. Couldn't put it down. Started this at 7 am and just finished it. Loved the characters and the adventure. Will defiantly read more from this author

You will be swept away with Kamery Solomons new book. The characters come to life and you can almost see what is happening as you read this book. This is one of Kamerery's best books yet. Can't wait to read more from her in the future!!!
