"The Bitch" is Jackie Collin's follow-up novel of "The Stud" which deals with the wealthy and beautiful Fontaine who owns a trendy nightclub in London. On a plane she meets the equally beautiful Nico, a rich and powerful man, but soon finds himself broke due to a severe gambling problem. The attraction between them is instant, but Fontaine, for some reason, resists him.

The book, like all Jackie's novels, is filled with hardcore sex scenes, beautiful scenery, bitchy dialogue and amazing plot twists.

Like "The Stud" "The Bitch" was turned into a motion picture starring Jackie's sister Joan Collins in the lead role. Unfortunately, "The Bitch" was not as successful as its predecessor.

In the early eighties when the home video market started to explode the caption on the VHS box read, "Joan Collins is The Bitch". Joan would have to get her lawyers to try and fight to stop this kind of publicity as she felt it was ruining her reputation.

This was much better than The Stud, but still not good. I just wasn't into the plot, and the characters were too generic and boring for you to really care about them.
Read this and The Stud when you have read all other Jackie Collins novels. It seemed this novel was trying to do for Fontaine what Lucky would later do for Lucky Santangelo.

The Bitch did not disappoint! I love Jackie Collins writing style really keeps you interested and wanting more. My only complaint about this book is it was too short for the price. Otherwise it was great.
