pyramid solitaire won't load, I had already read American star when it first came out so I shouldn't have ordered it again, the publisher changed the book cover to make you think it was a new read from the late Jackie Collins

Only Jackie can write and you become so immerse in the story you can't put the book down. I felt the pain and joy of the main characters and was rooting for them all the way. I love happy endings and through all the tears I connected with them, which made the ending so good.

Jackie Collins has a unique gift..she can weave a story around a group of diverse characters and yet we are able to follow the story line as it moves back and forth without knowing how the story will finally end. American Star is one I missed when it first came out...glad I found it and even more glad that I read it. GREAT READ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

American Star is simply fantastic. There are no other words for it. It has everything a reader could possibly want from a good read. It's not typical Collins. American Star tells a love story which I found completely unforgettable. It's trully stunning.
There is something for everybody in here: teen romance, forbidden love, tradgedy and of course, fantastic sex as only Jackie can write it! Besides that, we are thrown deep into a world that few dare to tread. Jackie deals with many serious issues including sexual abuse and abortion. There are many twists and amazing characters. Trust me, if you've read Collins before, or if you're looking for something with everything, read American Star. It's absolutely fantastic.

I just finished reading "American Star" and of all the books I have read by Jackie Collins, this one is the best. I am definetly keeping this one for my collection. It was easy to read and it wasn't predictable at all. I loved the ending. I recommend this book to everyone -- even my friends and family that may not like Jackie's books.

I absolutely love Jackie Collins, but I think that this book fell short at the ending.

I didn't like how Lauren eluded Nick for the entire book, even up to the last few pages. She seemed a bit too pretentous and untouchable. I thought she loved him?

Otherwise, I loved Nick and empathized with his pain. I had hoped Lauren would have been more of a likeable character.

This would be a boisterous read with two male characters instead of the usual ho-hum male/female main characters.

Think progressive.

How about instead of a Nick/Lauren coupling..a Nick/Leo/Logan/Louis..IDK? Just something other than a 'Lauren.'

Fill those beautifully-formed..denim-God jeans with some virility. Some strong masculine hands with sexy forearms..versus the usual customary insipid feminine attachments.

Just a thought.

This was the first jackie Collins' book for me--now I'm hooked. She one of the best authors around. This book keeps you tuned in to every single page. After I was through reading it, I passed it on to someone else. I recommend any of her books to everyone. I can't wait to read more of them myself!

Loved this story of Nick and Lauren and their long road of trying to be together. There were a few side stories involving Nick's sister and her crawl to stardom and that of the tangled childhood of this trio in their hometown. I have read many Jackie Collins books and can't think of even one that wasn't a really good read. This one is no exception!
