The chapter on Enthusiasm alone is enough to help anyone start to accomplish more in their lives. Mr. Better gives steps and personal stories that can help anyone achieve success in selling and in other areas in ones life. I have read this book a few times and will continue to reread it, as it is not so much what we know, but how much we forget to use what we already know. Buy it. Well worth the cost.

An amazing book. This was recommended to me by another sales person. I struggled in sales and was disappointed in my performance. I did not look forward to going to work or doing my job anymore. Then I read this. It is inspiring and has some amazing advice. I can't tell you how much this book will change your sales experiences. READ IT!

Written nearly 65 years ago, Frank Bettger's book is an inspiration for the professional looking to improve themselves, to become a better salesperson, and a better business person in general. Describing his rise from failed insurance salesman to top producer back in the 20's, Bettger focuses on human psychology, language, trust and approaches that are truly timeless. His summary of the Ben Franklin 13 weeks of repeated successes was both new to this voracious reader, and powerful and hard hitting in effect.

When reviewing the overall book, it is far more entertaining read than expected, even though the language, diction and stories are early last century. His approach on how to treat, meet and work with people is a timeless lesson, and the elements of self-reflection and self-improvement are still relevant today.

There are other books out there that are more modern, and may be a better fit for today's audience, but you will definitely not go wrong by reading this book.

Most empowering thoughtful motivating book I have read this whole year. Would recommend to anyone struggling to be enthusiastic in a sales job. Also it really has helped me overcome and become better in the work I do.

This is an excellent book overall and filled with not only valid and real world sales advice but also filled with inspiration and motivation of learning the sales skills and taking oneself to the next level.

While I enjoyed this book it does not read anything like a sales manual or something that you would give to your sales employees as it is more of a story and less construction on sales also some may find the format a little hard to follow at times buds I'm realistic and the same could be said about any book.

Overall I am very happy with my purchase and this book as it is a great read I would also consider reading more work from this author when I finish what I'm currently reading I hope this review helped you if it did please give a thumbs up and also have a great day.

As far as selling psychology is concerned, what worked before even long time ago (1900's) still works today. Technology is of course outdated but people's emotion are still the same.
My insights are:
1. Be effective in Selling by Finding what your buyers want and helping her get it still works.
2. Enthusiasm sells. You can keep on acting like you are enthusiastic for some time and it will become a habit.
3. Come up with something of value so that you are only one who can offer to your buyer at the moment of sale is big time tip. You can do this by focusing on the main issue.
4. Focus on the interest of the client. Count the number of "You" in your presentations, questions and scripts. Make sure that is 9x more than "I".
5. Keep records of the number of contacts, appointments and sales daily. Analyze this weekly.

This book I find is compelling, relevant, and actionable. I will use this as a reference from here on out. I have decided to follow the plan provided which follows Benjamin Franklin`s outline. As any good salesman does the author provides an action plan.

As a person who resisted learning about sales for years and years and even more years, I have to admit that this book is enlightening. When I finally realized, much to my surprise, that selling is about effective communication, my whole perspective changed.

This wonderful little book is a gem! Every chapter provides great ideas that anyone can use to improve their communication skills, whether they are selling professionally, or just selling ideas to their families and friends.

I LOVED IT and recommend it to any person who wants to free him- or herself from fear of criticism and rejection, and replace the fear with a confident ability to get ideas across with ease.

Classic. I recently started a sales career and went out and bought a variety of different books. This one speaks in simple terms. Doesn't try to overcomplicate. Yet it comes across in a profound manner. It cuts to the heart of the matter. Even better, the author provides lots of personal examples. It's easy to say "do this" or "do that" ... which is what a lot of sales books do. This one says "I did this" and provides a concrete example of how that action led to sales success.

Our Sales team was motivated to read this book prior to a training ... We had those who scoffed at the book's title, let alone the notion that they could learn something new about selling. An easy read [<4 hours for the slowest reader], Frank Bettger recounts his methods and experiences from a longstanding career as an Insurance salesman. Pertinent to virtually any selling responsibility, Bettger anecdotally recounts all the little things he did to transform his early, weak sales into a career of methodical sales execution. This is a good read for novice sales people or as a refresher to the hardened sales professional.

I thought this book is excellent for anyone who's into sales and marketing. I'm totally new to the subject so I can't speak for more experienced people, but this is definitely bound to help me a lot. What's interesting is that this has been written so many decades back.

This is the first time I've read a book on sales and I'm really excited to apply these principles, having recently become part of the network marketing and direct selling industry. It's one of the highly recommended books by our company, and my up lines swear by it. Truly excited to give these principles a try.

Amazing book and I am not selling anything. Just learning about how to communicate with others. Forget about selling if you are not interested to sell like me. You can still find plenty of stuff apply in live with your friends and family from this book.

The book was great and was everything I wanted and even better needed. This book helped me get done what I wanted and successfully and that was writing my own book and publishing it through the store. Check it out if you want, its called The 2015 Guide to Weight Loss and Doing It All. Back to Frank's book, it is truly and masterpiece and everything he talks about is from experience and is practical in more than just selling insurance. I loved it.
