I AM BOTH OUTRAGED AND EXCITED THAT THIS ISNT THE LAST BOOK. IT'S CRAP THAT WE WERE MISLEAD TO BELIEVE THAT THIS WOULD BE THE "PENULTIMATE " BOOK WHEN IT ENDS ON THE STRANGEST NOTE LIKE HE JUST FORGOT TO PUBLISH ANOTHER CHAPTER. THE END WAS COOL BUT DIDN'T LEAVE ME HAPPY AND THIS IS STILL BEING ADVERTISED AS THE LAST BOOK WHETHER THAT IS the store'S FAULT OR THE PUBLISHERS I DON'T KNOW. BUT I WANT TO KNOW WHY IT WAS MARKETED THIS WAY. I ALMOST CALLED TO DEMAND A REFUND BECAUSE IT HONESTLY PISSED ME OFF. OTHERWISE AS A READER IN GENERAL THIS BOOK IS HANDS DOWN ONE OF MY FAVORITES YET. I AM JUST EXTREMELY IRRITATED AS TO THE ABRUPT END.

I have no idea why I keep reading these books. A Wikipedia summary would be better written, and would skip all the unrealistic and frankly annoying dialogue. It's really a shame too, because the ideas of these book are really intriguing and interesting. However, they are so poorly executed.

This book is now my favorite of the 5 released! It starts where the Fall of Five left off, Marina, Six and Nine are trekking through the swamp with Marina a mess from Five's betrayal and keeping little control over her new legacy. John is with Sam, Malcolm and Adam on the run after the events in Chicago, joined by the Chimaera Adam rescued. We also get the POV from Ella who was taken in Chicago. If you read The Lost Files: Hidden Enemy, there is a nice surprise (ok we knew this would play in) about where one of those story lines left off.

The action is intense throughout most of the book. There is no where near as much running and hiding as in the previous books. The Garde had united in The Fall of Five, so now it is about taking action instead of sitting around and planning. The pace is really fast, and moves along well. Some of the previous questions you're left wondering are answered. (DO NOT PROCEED IF YOU HAVENT READ FALL OF FIVE). Without giving away any details, but some answers to look forward too, we learn Setrakus Ra's story and how he came to lead the Mogs and why he wants Ella at his side from the coma Ella was stuck in. I love how the book ends. It's the perfect setup to the last book and I cannot wait another year to see how this sends! I guess I'll have to make do with the novellas that will be released.

Enjoy!

As with all of the Lorien books, I really enjoyed the story but seriously- how long is this going to drag on?

I enjoyed this book until it's ridiculously abrupt ending- it felt totally incomplete, as if the author was giving the readers a giant middle finger saying, "Wait another year folks, buy another book." I might have even given it 4 stars if not for that because I was enjoying it so much until then.

There's no reason to review the story, if you're on the fifth book in the series, you know what they are all about by now & this book is more of the same. You won't be disappointed until you reach the end. Truly, my advise would be to wait until the 6th book comes out (is the 6th book the end? Is it?) & read them together so you will be infinitely less frustrated.

This book literally had me on the edge of my seat and I couldn't put it down. Great character development especially for Marina, Four, and Ella. It also really helped connect a lot of the missing pieces from the other books. Literally counting the days until the next book.

With held the ending??? WHAT is wrong with you? Quite the author-- NOT!
The story was bad enough getting thru whiney characters, poor forethought, and vague, make-it-up-as-you go story line. But although I tried to work around all this destraction , as the"author " you could have had the mercy to END it, with this "book". But, no. Just an offering of More crappy back books, and a promise of more money coming your way. However, I am Done with this lot, and will never purchase another book. I can see why you used a ficticous author's name.

Just not worth the read. I felt obligated to carry these books to the end, hoping for a glimmer of improvement. There isn't any.

If you have started the series, don't. If you have, best wishes, you'll be left unsatisfied.

I have really enjoyed this series so far BUT this book was about SEVEN and was not edited very well so the last more than half kept referring to Seven as SIX. Very disconcerting to say the least. Please, please fix.

I love the series, but I feel like it is really being dragged along. From the 3rd book on we have really learned nothing new and the story line has been the same. Try and kill Ra, and fail. Get attacked by Mogs and dust them. Blah Blah Blah. We still don't know who is Pittacus Lore's decendent and it wasn't even mentioned in the book. Also, it feels like they use different writers for some of the books, because some things from other books don't get put into the next ones. For example, john can see in the dark and light his whole body on fire yet we don't see any of that in this book. Just him throwing fireballs even when they are ambushing and him lighting himself on fire would seem imminent. I am really disappointed in the book, and really unhappy that it ended in the MIDDLE of a fight.

I think that it was an amazing book because the plot kept me wanting to read more. Some examples are Adam hacking into a ship, Nine breaking Setrakus Ra’s cane, and Six, Marina and Adam entering the Loric sanctuary.
First, Adam hacking into a ship that happened to show where most of the remaining members of the Garde were. This wanted me to keep reading because, for the first time in the book almost all the Garde were able to communicate to each other. “The Mogadorian voice told me how to operate the ship. Then I heard John and knew that I could trust the Mogadorian”
Secondly, Nine breaking Setrakus Ra’s cane, which he uses to transform to different animals and shapes, which he used to transform into a shape that makes him look like a person that humans would find trustworthy. This wanted me to keep reading because I wanted to see how the humans reacted to Setrakus Ra’s normal shape. “Setrakus Ra thrashed around as he transformed into his usual shape.”
Finally, Six, Marina, and Adam entering the Loric sanctuary. This wanted me to keep reading because I wanted to see what would happen when they, especially Adam, entered an old Loric sanctuary which supposedly was their last hope to save Earth and not let the rest of the Garde, and humanity die. “Marina and I entered the sanctuary and on the other side of the force field and waited for Adam to cross”
In conclusion, I think that this story has a great plot, and I would recommend it to all 6th graders.

in all honesty, i felt that this book was a huge let down. i've loved all the previous books in this series, but not the revenge of seven. there were definitely some interesting parts, but i just felt that the story was getting old and it was the same recycled stuff all over again.

so i've never liked sarah, and she proceeded to annoy me even more during this book. john too. can they just stop making gooey eyes for once? you're trying to save the world, no one cares about this pointless romance that serves no purpose to the plot. HONESTLY. i don't care about your long ass calls, and the million "i love yous".

i really like how realistically five has been shown. he's constantly flipping sides and doing what he wants/thinks is best. that's what a real person would do. normal people would think about themselves, and how to stay alive -- and that's exactly what five did. (although i will admit that i don't particularly like him, i just like how real and 3d he is). obviously not everyone is going to have the same opinions and agree with their leader through everything.

i also really liked adam. i have some trust issues with him (due to the whole mog thing), but i find him very interesting and fun to read about. i can't wait to learn more about him in future books, and i felt the revenge of seven didn't spend too much time focusing on why he's working with the garde.

I got chills every time I read the back of the book. Those few lines that gave me the goosebumps. I almost cried, I laughed and I gasped to the point of almost passing out for that dizziness… You know that I love books that keep you at the edge of the chair, couch, bed, or to wherever you are reading on, and this book does that. One moment you are all excited, then you are crying, and then you are just relieved, and they again you are crushing the book and giving all you might to that character that is fighting his or her guts out. All books are like that.

Ella has been kidnapped by Setrákus Ra, is a prisoner aboard his spaceship, and finds out she’s actually his granddaughter. Meanwhile John, Sarah, Sam, Malcolm and Adam are holed up trying to plan their next move after the disaster in Chicago while Six, Marina and Nine are trying to find their way out of Florida swampland where they’d been ambushed by Five. Eight has been killed and taken by the Mogs, but Marina is determined to find a way to rescue his body from them.

Despite being separated and facing grim odds, the remaining Loric are desperate to figure out a way to use their legacies to stop the Mogadorians from invading Earth. With each passing day Setrákus Ra’s evil plan gets a step closer to becoming reality, and it will take all of their combined power to stay a step ahead of the Mogs to survive one more day and save Earth.

This latest book in the “I am Number Four” series is full of the usual Mog fights and Loric shows of power. An interesting twist, along with a very frustrating cliffhanger ending, will leave readers eagerly clamoring for Book #6 which won’t be released until 2015 and is portrayed as THE final book in the series. I’ll believe it when I read it.

Recommended for readers aged 14 and older.

In the 5th "I am Number Four" book, "The Revenge of Seven", Pittacus Lore continues the story of the Garde & the potential Mogdorian invasion after Five's betrayal and Eight's death in the last installment. This time around the remaining members are trying to reach New York to stop the President of the US from surrendering to Setrakus Ra. We also find Six & Nine going with Adam into Central America to locate a place called the Sanctuary which is a place of significance to the Garde as well as the history of Lorien. Additionally, Ella ends up aboard the Anubis dealing with Five and Seven. The book itself moves at a breakneck pace which has not been uncommon in this series as the various threads continue moving revealing just how vulnerable Setrakus Ra is, just how far people will go for revenge, and the fact that some Mogdorians have Legacies of their own. The plot itself while being a bit confusing at times since you really never know who is speaking at times as the book shifts through its various threads is still a worthwhile read. With yet another cliffhanger ending and still a lot left to be decided, there's still a lot more to tell in this saga as this reader awaits the next installment of this captivating series.

I was rather disappointed in this book. Not because of the story line, it was fine. I stayed engaged throughout and never felt as though the story was dragging. That being said, I don't understand the title. What "Revenge of Seven"? Did she do anything besides give off cold and worry about Eight's body?
I agree with others who have said that the series has gotten too long. It's time to wrap it up. At this point I feel as though it's just about making money for the author and no longer about character development or writing an interesting story. I had hoped this was the last book since we have finally met all the Garde, but it was not to be. I do hope the next one finally finishes it.

Book 5. Again, the Lorien Legacies is not over yet.

The story continues to Four, Marina, Nine, Ella, Sam and the rest of the Guardian Members. I am still disappointed that Eight got killed. He was one of my favorite characters, and beacuse of that Marina blamed Nine for starting the whole accident.
So the rest of the guardian members separated again, and this time Ella has been having nightmares.
During the rest of the story,Setrakus Ra, has revealed himself. He is the tenth Elder of Lorien, and Ella's grandfather. That is why he has taken interest of her.
As we read through the series, Mark gets a come back, doing the hero stuff in this book as well as Sarah. I have developed some liking to the characters, especially team Five and Ella.
The ending was superb, I like how they climaxed it. It's like it's the end of the human world because the Modorians have landed on Earth.
I like the part where Five let Ella escaped, and ended up being thrown in Earth, crashing next to Four.
I dont' get the last part where Sam had super powers, and they cut it! Damn!

I can't wait for the next book. This series has been my favorite one, even if the cover is bland.

The title implies Seven will make someone regret their actions. Not to be. Seven does make sure that Eight is honored properly for his sacrifice. Ella learns more about herself. Five wakes up from his pity party.
Great ending. I recommend this book to everyone with interest in this genre.

I Have been a fan of this series from the first book.
Book 4 almost lost me simply because there was a character that could not put together an entire sentence without swearing in it. While I appreciate the fact that there are some people who think that is the way to talk, I am not sure that it is necessary especially in a book that is geared for younger people.
Thankfully, I picked up this book anyway and it was much better in that way. Even though I had not read all of Book 4, I still could follow the plot line and by going back and reading the last chapter, I knew what had happened and it was fine.
My advice, skip book 4 and read this one instead.

How do I put awesomeness in words? Wait...I just did. Anyways the book is solid from start to finish. I thought the story would have the Justice League effect, where you have so many powerful good guys on one side it just seems over powering and that the heroes always win. Wrong! They have it tough, props to the authors for making our alien friends go through some struggles that make them seem more human. Finally got a better look into some of the series' mythos when it came to Lorien as well as other aspects. Somehow I saw the ending coming but it was still another great book which has me asking, what's next?

It was very hard for me to rate this book this low because I actually love this series. But...
I'll get to the parts I'd rate 4-4.5. This book is action packed and I love it. Some of the questions from previous books are answered - that's great too. But it didn't seem to me John was as strong as he was in other books. Did he forget to use some of the legacies? And Six didn't grow in her legacies anymore. She is still a teen and learning. Yeah, she is cool and all that but it would be nice to see that she discovered something new. Seeing Ella's development was exciting. Seeing Five vulnerable was great too. I actually feel sorry for him and hope the other Gardes will forgive him. Even Setrakas Ra character was interesting to see developing. But...
Here is the part I's rate only 1 star...
While I am reading in the middle of the night (really believing this is the last book in the series) turning page after page, page after page, another page and nothing... Just like that "in the middle of nowhere" just the end! What?! I mean I felt like I was robbed off the end not only of the book in general but the chapter itself! I wasn't sure if the authors forgot to finish the chapter or the publisher forgot to publish the end. I've read books with poor ending but this one does not have any. I get they tried to do a cliffhanger but there wasn't one. The thought wasn't even finished. I am so disappointed. I am also disappointed that there will be another book. I don't think it had to be dragged for so long. Of course, I'll read the next book. I've invested so much that now I have to finish this series but, goodness, I hope next book is truly the last one. So pretty much the ending is not complete and I was deeply disappointed. They could add a couple more chapters to just wrap up the book and series! Really! I'd be so much happier!

The book is very entertaining. The entire series is good and would suggest it for anyone. Its got a little of everything in it, romance, drama, action. Its a story that you can get into and pulls you from one book to the next, because you want to see how the story advances.

Needless to say, the Revenge of Seven did not meet the incredibly high standards that I hold the Lorien Legacies Series to. In the previous four books, Pittacus Lore used mostly descriptions and character interaction, with minimal action scenes to spice up the plot and make it interesting. A solid approach, in my opinion. So I was very dissapointed to find that this was not the case in The Revenge of Seven. Lore had more action scenes in this book than in all four of the previous books combined. He went for an action/thriller approach that rarely existed previously in the series. Let's take a trip down memory lane, shall we? Going back go the first book in the series, I am Number Four. This book (still the best in the series, in my opinion) gave readers an interesting plot that did not call for any action scenes. So when the battle at Paradise High occured, we all reacted in the same way, "duuuuuuuude, that was awesome!" I know I did. This is the main difference between The Revenge of Seven and the rest of the series. Action scenes were never overdone, there was usually one per book, which left us in awe and appreciating them when they occured. They left us saying "yay that was great!" while The Revenge of Seven left us saying "ugh, another one?" Pittacus Lore bombarded us with, fighting, action, and other things that just weren't necessary. What wss described as the "penultimate" book in the series, was nothing but an average read at best. The only thing satisfying about this book, was the ending. Other than that, it dropped the ball. Big time

The Revenge of Seven, by Pittacus Lore, is the fifth installment in the I am Number Four series. I have been keeping up with this series since seventh grade and to be quite honest, this book should be on every nightstand and should be read every day like The Bible!
The book picks up where the last one left off, with Ella captured by Mogadorians, Eight dead, and Five with a fresh wound where his eye should be. The author continues to develop the story and plot like before, with multiple points of view; this unique writing style is what makes this book stand out from the majority of “good books” that are out right now.
Along with its unique writing style, the author also has a great way of making the characters realistic and genuine throughout the book; he also characterizes them effectively. The chapters narrated by Six, the strong and analytical thinker of the Garde, were perfect to match her personality. She would be weary and descriptive of her surroundings and think of every possible way to get an advantageous edge on her enemies. Nine, whose character is the equivalent of a college frat boy, had dialogue to match, with many swears & insults directed at whoever he wanted them to be. By now you get the point that I’m trying to pull across, that the author is amazing at keeping his characters original and consistent.
The author keeps the reader engaged with very descriptive language during battle scenes and scenery descriptions; you can literally visualize the landscape and the slaughtered Mogs. Likewise, tension building is another strong aspect of this novel. The scenes in which the Garde were on the brink of death or in terrible danger kept you in suspense and biting your nails just aching to see what will become of our beloved heroes; and just when you think you’ve reached the climax, there’s the dreaded chapter end that will keep you reading and begging for more.
That’s pretty much all I have to say about this book without spoiling the plot, it was a great read and I can’t wait for the next book to be released.

The Revenge of Seven is the fifth book, but you probably know that. The conflict between the Gardes and the Mogs is finally coming to a head, but no, it isn't. This book is perhaps the best of the lot so far, but the action abruptly stops in the middle of the Mog's invasion, while Setrakus Ra is on the run because Ella neutralized his Lorian legacies (Yes, Setrakus Ra is the fallen Lorien elder.). We'll have to wait for book six to, hopefully,to read how this epic saga ends.

If you've read the other 4 books up to this point, this follows the same style. It's a quick read and moves fast with a good story and character development. I enjoyed how new things were revealed about Setrakus Ra's and Five's past, but I do feel like the story is dragging on way too long. I did not like the ending at all. Not only did it stop abruptly (cliffhanger, I get it, but most cliffhangers don't leave you there for a year!) but I am also not a fan of the direction of the next book. I won't give away anything, but it seems like the next book might be very stupid.

I find the author's writing annoying. He/she never identifies who is talking/thinking, and assumes the reader just automatically knows a new male or female is now the point of view. The writing is unstructured and unorganized and never identifies characters. There are way too many characters that have never fully been developed. Even in the short wanna books, they lack reason to keep reading. Too many questions that are left unanswered. I struggled to get halfway through the book before writing a review. Overall my entire reading experience feels like it is coming from a junior high school boy wishing for an alien invasion yet lacks formal training.

While I completely adore this series, I was partly let down by this latest instalment. Without giving anything away, I can tell you that the direction of the series changes almost completely. It feels as though that each book has built up to something we all would love to happen. But sadly that is taken away by this turn. I know a lot of people who love the direction in which this story is heading. So I don't want you to be discouraged from reading this. However, I personally am not looking forward to the final instalment out of fear that it won't leave me satisfied.

The Revenge of Seven is still filled with action and suspense. It is a thrilling read and it contains many twists and surprises that you don't see coming. The story delves deeper into the unique characters backstories and there is a quite significant amount of character development along the way (despite there being very little break between action scenes). I do recommend that fans of the series read The Revenge of Seven, however with an open mind.

Wow. This series keeps getting better and better! I don't want it to end and supposedly there's only one book left! :( I couldn't put it down! There's so much action and you learn more about the Mogadorians and much more about Lorien. I hope we don't lose anyone else in the Garde! I hope everyone gets brought together. And I love loved the end!! Super exciting!

Another totally excellent book in this totally excellent series. The mogs are planning to take over the earth. It is up to the Garde to stop them. Now that Eight is dead, and the teens are separated, they try to contact one another, find Ella, and save the planet. There is lots of action and the book is fantastic!

A MUST read if you are into this series! It's a great addition and starts to clear up a lot of questions! This book left me on the edge of my seat [especially the ending, hopefully it's true (if it is, WOOT! for Sam!)]! It gives me hope that the Garde might prevail and destroy the evil Mogs!!!! I can't believe we have to wait a whole year for the next "book"! I guess I'll just have to make do with more of "The lost files"! Also, really happy this book was longer, not sure if it really was, but it felt like it! :)

Great Book, but then I say that about all of them. The story continues to unfold. You learn more as some holes are filled in. Plus you get to see several new things and have ' aha' moments.

Keeps me waiting for the next one.

Make sure you read the Lost Files books. They fill in gaps. There are usually 3 that come out between regular books.

As expected, Revenge of Seven was a great story with one problem. Now I have to wait for the next book. As you read the first book, I Am Number Four, & continue to this book you will find one or more of the Guarde will become your favorite & you will pull for them. But not all of them survive.
This it a really great series that will keep you up at night.

Alright this book was okay, not the best pretty predictable. I am seriously hoping the next one is the last. The ending was very predictable but cool at the same time, I don't want to reveal anything for those that want to read for themselves. But it felt like most of the book was just filler and waiting for something to happen.

Spoilers!!!!!!!!

The reasons I gave this book 3 stars are because, despite its faults, it was a bigger improvement over its predecessor. First I'm going to talk about the characters. I feel like all the characters are too one-dimensional. None of their decisions or choices are surprising, with the exception of Five, who I felt was the best written of the character of the series. Lore, in my opinion, has made Four and his friends "too good." They never make questionable decisions that test their morality. Every choice they make is the right one, and, to me, that doesn't make a character interesting. I mean, can I ask what is the difference between killing a bad Mog and a bad human. Why are the humans who have basically sold out their planet to a genocidal dictator, condemning millions to their deaths, above being killed whereas the Mogs are slaughtered without a second thought? They're at war. It's unrealistic that they'll be able to win without getting their hands dirty at some point.

The second thing that bugged me is the writing. I feel like some of the explanations to the plot are huge cop-outs. I remember from the Power of Six how when Four and Sam discover that Henri was in Paradise looking for Malcolm, in order to explain the coincidence of their meeting, Four says it must be fate. It happened again in Revenge of Seven when, in order to open the door to the Sanctuary, it only takes them three pendants instead of nine. As an explanation, Marina says that The Sanctuary must know how desperate their situation is. I found it a little ridiculous, especially since no further explanation is provided.

And lastly, there's the ending. Setrakus Ra said it himself. He's spent years hunting down the Loric only to have them slip through his fingers. So what does he do when he has one of them in his grasp? He lets him go to reward him for saving his life and to "watch the world burn." There are a couple problems with that. 1. Setrakus Ra has never struck me as honorable, so why would he care Four saved his life, knowing very well it wasn't really his life he was trying to save. 2. If he really wanted Four to to "watch the world burn", why not capture him and force him to watch from a Mogadorian ship. It'll probably be a better view. This is another example of a cop-out simply to move the plot along. Also, Pittacus Lore is horrible at ending these stories. Each ending is abrupt and could act as endings to a chapter, but not to an entire book. Out of all of them, this ending is the worst. So many storylines are left wide open with no resolution. I felt cheated by the ending Lore gave me and it left me, not wanting for more, but angry and confused.

All that said, I really thought Pittacus Lore has gotten much better with the shifting of the POVs. It was still a little confusing at times but not as confusing as it has been. Also, plot wise, much more happened in The Revenge of Seven than the Fall of Five and was a much more engaging read.

Let's see if I can pull myself together long enough to write this review.
I have a strong feeling I can't..

First of all, the fifth book in any series isn't like your average book. It doesn't look to develop the characters to the extent the first book does, or anything like that. That's not what it's aiming for, so that's not what I'll judge it on. What it wants is to further the over-arcing plot as much as it needs to, and to keep you entertained.
By God, this book did that!

I should probably start with the one thing I didn't love, and that was the lack of any Marina chapters in the book. I can't remember if 'The Rise of Nine' or 'The Fall of Five' featured points of view from Nine and Five respectively, but I really wanted to experience this part of the story through Marina's eyes, especially after what happened at the end of the previous book. To be honest though, around a quarter of the way through, I completely forgot about it, because the story was so enthralling. So I guess even my one negative point doesn't have too much hold haha.

Now onto the great parts! Oh man, where to start!

As to what I said before, about fifth books in series wanting to further the story, this book definitely crossed that off it's to-do list! We learn so much in this book, not only about the Lorien rebirth and things to do with the guard, but we learn a lot about the Mogs as well, which I absolutely loved! We're given reasons behind the attack that seemed so unprovoked in previous books and surprised by secrets that are revealed! This book is clearly a crucial part of the series, not just a way to make money before releasing the book with the real story, and you feel that when you're reading!

Not a single dull moment passes in this book. When you're not reading about your favourite characters shooting down Mogs, you're learning about what happened between the Mogs and the Lorien Elders. It's so fast-paced and easy to fly through, especially because there are three alternating pov's, which make the reading experience all the better!

The ending. Oh man, oh man!
That's a cliff-hanger if I've ever read one! It definitely wasn't the best ending for readers, feeling almost unnaturally abrupt, but then again, isn't that how cliff-hangers are supposed to feel?
All I know, is that when it ended, I felt some series heart palpitations coming on! Haha

Anyway those are my thoughts for the time being. It literally makes me want to cry knowing I'll have to wait another whole year to continue the story, but I'll just have to stay strong!

Great book!
Great series!

All of these Lorien Legacy novels are engaging, interesting, and fun but I'm growing tired of the length of the series. Enough already. It's hard to remember details from one installment to the next. I hope the next novel will be the final in the series.

this book was amazing as usual with its suspese and epic adventre it gves. However towardste end I started losing interest in the book as the loralite spreading and the Garde were basically getting an army. What I feel like is that even after tey win the garde wont be as imprtant anymore,as everyone can do that now. It just takes that apoclyptic feel away, along with he 'last survivors'. I feel like this was amazing as usual, but this may be the last book that is, imo. Unless the humans get limited powers or ts only a minority. We will see.

There are spoilers in this review, so only continue reading if you don't mind info that is in the book. I did enjoy it but I can't say it had the same conflict/anticipation as the other 5. That was probably because they skipped around so much by telling the story through Ella, John, Six, Marina's voice. Now this doesn't mean I wouldn't still be reading if there were material to read because I thoroughly enjoy the series and I'm up in years (64) and am also an author. I think perhaps some of the anticipation is missing because some of the questions were answered and more hope is envisioned after the Garde reach "Sanctuary"--although that too brings up more questions. I am disappointed that the segment while they were in Sanctuary was written as if the book was geared to grade schoolers instead of experienced readers. It shouldn't be too hard to figure out that if the series is this popular by being written on an adult level, then don't change styles in midstream. Anyone else feel like they were cheated by this childish writing style? By saying that some questions were answered (resolution), I mean in general, such as why they Garde may not have to return to Lorien to restart the planet and what that means to the young lovers. And Sam and Six hooking up. Good 4 them both. Overall, I suppose my biggest complaint is that there was not enough material on any one subject to satisfy my hunger, which, I suppose, was the publisher's plan. I'm steamed that this series has not been "movietized." I love it and it seems that many others do to. "I Am Number Four" series is a good two stars better than "Divergent." Not even close, and I'll take it over "The Hunger Games" any day. To potential readers, let me say that previously thought of as almost invincible characters do have flaws and there are enough new conflicts and events (someone else gets a legacy) introduced to make you smile and give hope that there will be at least 2 more books. I personally hope that the "Number Four" series carries on as long as the one by Robert Jordon (I forget the name; Dragons of Pern, I think). whatever. Just keep the presses rolling and we'll keep shelling out the dough. That's the name of the game, isn't it?

I love the series but my biggest pet peeve is grammatical errors in published books. I'm about halfway done and have come across three so far. In this day in age, it still baffles me that we have these slip through the cracks and it's off setting to me personally as a reader.
Great series, incredible imagination and I hope it keeps to the end.

The 5th book in the Main series sees the Garde in two groups, one in Chicago that includes John, Sam, Adam, Malcolm, Sarah and the Chimeri, and the others, Nine, Six and Marina in Florida.
John’s group have just fled the John Hancock building, after losing Ella, and are now deciding what to do.
Six’s group are in shock over losing Eight, and Marina is determined to get his body back.
And this is a large part of the start of the book, Six’s group going to a base in the swamp to get Eight’s body back. Whilst John’s group split. Sarah makes contact with Mark James (set up now from the ‘Return to Paradise’ short story) and decides to join him and his cyber fight. Adam comes up with a plan that is against what the Garde normally do, using his Mog tactics to assist them, and although this does cause some friction, the group realises how useful he is going to be.
The remainder of the book runs as two main stories with some extras. The first of the stories follows John (4) Sam, Nine and Agent Walker (who has realised that Mogs are bad) head to New York to try and thwart the Mogadorian plans for Invasion. The second follows Six, Marina and Adam as they head to a ‘Special’ location that is going to change the world forever.
The sub-stories involve Sarah ducking off to meet up with Mark James and the mysterious ‘Guard’ from the ‘Lost Files’, possibly allowing for additional material there. They don’t get their own story lines as such, but periodically check into the story. Ella also gets to check in every now and then via her telekinesis to add extra plot twists.
This leads to a fairly in-depth plot twist, with a really fast moving story.
The characters have each started to get their defined roles now, and the author has obviously decided to angle towards this. John (4) has clearly stepped out as the leader of the group, and everyone, although eager to criticise when things go wrong, happily defer to him when it's decision time. Nine is the brute force of the group, but also the ‘Military’ arm of their group – always seeking to solve things through force. Six has leadership qualities as well, often becoming the second in charge as needed when the group splits. Marina has become the moral compass for the group, as well as their mobile medical unit. Sam is the plucky side kick, but he also provides John with the strength to continue fighting at times, as well as a sounding board. Sarah is John’s reason for living, and gives him a reason for fighting, she is the heart and soul of the group. Eight represents all that they have lost. Ella is all that they are fighting for. Ella is also something that holds the group together. Through her innocence, she brings the group together.
Adam gives us an understanding of the enemy, and also how things are also not so black and white.
It's very cleverly written as the characters interact with each other.
This series has slowly worked its way to this point giving us background story, building the characters, and it's in this part that you get an understanding of what it has all been about, and the start of the end game.
And there is a surprise at the end that is just awesome!
Revenge of the Seven is one of the best of the series so far.

I have loved this series since the get go. The whole "Piticus Lore" ghost writer thing, and the "WE ARE NOT ALONE!" secretive undertone, is a really cool twist. The whole book being presented as a "They are among us" underground novel was a brilliant idea. But I ALMOST gave this book only four stars. I was a bit disappointed in the ending and the huge secret of the Loriens was ....well, you decide for yourself...Review time:

Giant Mogadorian ships hover over all major cities. Their fighters flitting about. The Mogs and the mysterious men in black are working together. The people of earth are enthralled! Loriens are scattered again! After just finally finding one another. Everything is falling apart. ..WTH!?

Well, it seems with the gathering of the Loriens in the earlier books is all for naught. Setrakis Ra takes on human form (a beautiful human form at that) and is wooing the Earth's upper government into an alignment. And has been for some time!!

Sam's father was right, but he had no idea the depth of the insidious rot!

Promises of medical miracles, and advanced weaponry are just too persuasive...The reason for his desire to own all of the Lorien's legacy pendants becomes clear. He can assimilate their legacies. But that's not all they can do.

A mysterious place surfaces..."The Sanctuary"..A mysterious pyramid, somewhere in the center of a steamy jungle in southern Mexico protected by Lorien magic, perhaps holds the key to everything....The Mogs have it surrounded, but for a Mog to touch it's Lorien shield is instant ash time for Them.

The children of Loric fight on...(or flee on) after the traitorous number five nearly successfully engineers a trap that would have killed or captured most of the Loriens left,. He is at odds with himself now, when he realizes that Setrakis has lied to him as well... Ella is held captive by Setrakis Ra . He tells her of her lineage. Could it be true? The tall dark and cruel Mogadorian soldiers are just "Lab rats!" Born in a test tube with no souls, but Setrakis Ra is not one of them. He is something else entirely!! (No spoilers please) She refuses to believe or become part of what he insists is her destiny. Her legacy tells her that he might be right! But in her heart she is bound and determined to change the visions that haunts her; even as she watches helplessly as events unfold towards that exact end.

After Nines giant pent house goes up in flames; their hideout, their only place of respite...John does something that he thought he would never do: he sends Sarah away to be with her X boyfriend Mark! No way, right!? Well, It seems Mark is now the leader of the "They Walk Among Us" group. The once corny, and dubious alien conspiracy magazine is now an actual movement. Their secret is out after all. AND, also to get her to safety. He must find Six, Sam and the rest. He has to stop all this! There is going to be a Grand entrance held to welcome the new visitors to Earth. John is determined to be there to stop it! Ella's vision seems to be coming true right before our eyes folks!!
******Warning! The last bit HINTS at things to come*******

When five decides to try to make amends for his traitorous actions that caused the death of (?******?) ...it's almost too late. But his actions do help John and Ella reveal the true Setrakis to the misguided earthlings! Revealed at last ...will the bombs begin to fall?
