Very well written book, with the author drawing upon conviction borne of personal experience. I think a few more anecdotes, examples, and stories would have added some color and helped illustrate many of the points presented, but overall worth the read.

I couldn't have written this better, myself. This book is as important to American (Black AND White) history as "The Autobiography of Malcolm X" and "Soul on Ice" by Eldridge Cleaver, a much under-read and under-appreciated book. Just look at the numbers and distribution of the ratings of half a hundred well-read and intelligent individuals. Those ratings will tell you what I have just said is the truth.

Finally an honest perspective regarding the black sub culture - and just how far off the rails it has gone!!
Taleeb explains the dynamics, the causes, the excuses, the lack of leadership, and all the damage being caused by a generation of people bent on nothing but immediate gratification & living in the moment.
Its hard, graphic, gritty, and 'unvarnished' Great read for everyone
Walk on Earth a Stranger (Gold Seer Trilogy) :: Good and Cheap: Eat Well on $4/Day :: No Hero: The Evolution of a Navy Seal :: 100 Recipes to Help You Eat Healthy Every Day - No Excuses Detox :: The hoax of black victimization and those who enable it.

Mr. Starks tells the unabashed truth about the subculture that commits so much of the crime and costs the rest of America's law abiding, tax paying citizens so much in money, injuries, deaths, and general unhappiness. Having read works by Thomas So well and Walter Williams, both men of great integrity, and big on old fashioned common sense, Mr. Starks has done the research and invested much time to explain what happens when young Blacks disregard schooling and choose to join this negative subculture. Whenever I meet an upstanding, reasonable Af Am. , I am reassured that there are decent Black Americans, and am left with a positive impression, kudos to Mr. Starks.

An incredibly gutsy black author wrote this vitally important book, which EVERYONE should read, especially if you like living. Internet changed EVERYTHING. A fan of black culture since 1940,at age 9 (you read that right!), I'd be dead due to things I did and places I went, if I tried them today! Protect your relatives by urging all to make this a MUST. I've been writing a similar book, from a white perspective; forget mine! Get this tomorrow! I do have much to say, & many of my 600 songs are about black subjects, but I thought I was hip...as whites go. HaHa!
Further, you'll laugh your booty completely OFF! I've read 3000 books: this is the most IMPORTANT! Above all, don't be scared off by the last word in the title! Rating should be six stars: a class by itself.

Tremendous book addressing the subculture that has highjacked our black communities .... Fortunately, written by a black man who cannot be accused of being a racist for attacking the thug, welfare and entitlement cultures and the Black Grievance Industry that attempts to profit from the delusions.

As Frederick Douglas said " Give the negro fair play and let him alone. If he lives, well. If he dies, equally well. If he cannot stand up, let him fall down."

I thouroughly enjoyed Mr. Starkes' book. He pushes asside all false premises on race relations and thoughtfully discusses and exposes the truth relating to Black People in the United States. He exposes the lies, the hypocrisy and false assumptions that so many have accepted for so long. I thank Mr. Starkes for putting in his book thoughts, feelings, and opinions i've had for years, and that i know many other like minded people have but have been afraid to state it. Bully for Mr. Starkes, i applaud his courage and intelligence.

I thought although this book is a excellent read, I think it's a shame that more people will most likely avoid because preconceived notions! There is a lot of stuff said by this author that has needed said for a long time!

Good book, , well written, with many examples of what the author is talking about. I would highly recommend this book and his other works for those interested in really understanding the problems the black community has to overcome on it's own, to shack off the destructive sub-culture.

An amazing book loaded with unbelievable statistics on black on black crime and how the N's are separate and apart from all things normal or healthy as they tear down society. This young writer will definitely be going places! Highly recommend this book!

Excellent, overly heavy on the street slang, but necessary to project the tough subject. Would have liked to see his personal solution the problem of getting the attention of the black audience. This is a problem that outsiders cannot solve, it has to be remedied in the black community.

Anyone who is interested in what is really going on in this country should read this book. When I try to write a review that is more direct, somehow the censors at the store don't appreciate it ; so just read it, and thank me later.

Although uncomfortable with the repeated use of the N-word, the urgency of this unapologetic stance against our "Urban Terrorists" quickly made that discomfort go away. An absolute necessary read, a revolutionary viewpoint. Unfortunately, this . . ."revolution will not be televised."

Taleeb speaks about the importance of responsibility for one's own actions and the culture of dependency in a small portion of the black community. The language is only for those who can handle the truth and not worry about sugar coating a tremendous problem in our nation.

Starkes' fearless take on the dangers the bigger subculture creates for all people should be required reading for all, especially the media. It's refreshing to see someone from within the Black community tackling the violent and uncivilized nonsense that's been excused for far too long.

Thanks to this author who skillfully described a terrible condition. The situation described is exactly what has happened to the welfare class in the UK, exposed in several books by a British psychiatrist who doubled at a public hospital and prison. Those people were not blacks, but were exactly as this book describes. ("Life at the Bottom" is one of Dalrymple's books.)
I support charities who take in orphan children of native Americans, and the same problems plague those who have been wards of the government for a hundred years.....LBJ might have thought he was doing something great by rewarding mothers by the number of illegitimate children they had, but what he really created was a new barbarian class. The NAACP failed to help because it was created by the Communist Party to foment revolution in the US with blacks being turned against everyone else.....Epic tragedy is the only description I can find for this -
Human nature apparently NEEDS morality and responsibility in order to be civilized. The Drug laws have contributed further to this evil, as prohibition of alcohol which only lasted 13 years before government ended it did after the underworld was created and flourished. Selling drugs is the new prohibition's black market which has created billionaires of the drug kings of the world while disabling civilization in the inner cities.

Someone finally has the courage and candor to assert the fundamental and obvious causes for the crime and violence in African-American cities. Kudos to Mr. Starkes for demanding accountability as an inherent component of equal citizenship. I just hope that the politically correct literati (and everyone else) will listen. Lives are depending on it.

What a wonderful and brutally honest book. Taleeb Starkes uses language that's uncomfortable to many people to see, and makes no excuses for the "urban" subculture that exists across the country. He is fed up with the behavior he has witnessed for his entire life, and is calling out the people who practice it.

It was refreshing and somewhat surprising to read this book. Truly a no nonsense or excuse dialog on the real problems faced by people in this day and age.
I'm sure the author has received harsh criticism for his perception of the problems within this ethnic community but he could not be more spot on!
Thank you for being willing to tell the truth!!!!

This book should be required reading in EVERY INNER CITY in the UNITED STATES! Taleeb Starkes tells it like it is and how it should be told, Straight with no chaser! I agree with everything stated in this publication. I recommend it to every black person that has or is looking for a job!

An eye opening much needed book. Every BLACK person should read this and share it with a WHITE person. There is a distinct difference within the African American community. Leave the subcultures to themselves.

A very necessary book. A white person will never get away with this, but coming from a black person that grew up in the hood does it cut much closer to the bone. Of course ,the people causing the problems will never read it,but hopefully those good people that enable, indulge and defend them will.

This book is thought provoking, thoroughly informative, ballsy...and, yes, hilarious for all the right reasons. Not bad for a first outing; I think I'm the very first one here in Italy to have read it:-)

Taleeb Starkes hits the nail on the head! This is a book that pulls no punches. Raw, honest, and very impactful. Not only does the book provide excellent information, it is written in a way that makes you want to keep reading! This book is SO socially relevant right now.

Growing up white in Philadelphia and having read an article by Mr. Starke in the American Thinker early yesterday I was curious about this book. I'm glad I purchased it and would recommend it as a must read to anyone who has their eyes closed to what is really happening to the black culture. Congratulations Mr. Starke on being brave enough to speak out! I'm sure this book will not be popular with many but should be read by everyone. I am privileged to have some BLACK friends and not to know any of the others. Now that the problem has been definitely identified we need to find a solution because entitlements are only making the situation worse. Too many young lives are being wasted.
