David Porter was a good detective. This book has a lot of twist and turns and keeps you guessing. It's a good mystery and the detective goes through a lot. The ending was a big surprise.
Yes I would recommend this book and I am looking forward to the next book.

Terry is a fantastic writer. This is the second book of his that I have read and I loved it. I will continue to read the series, I cannot put the book down once I start it! He develops his plots and his characters so that you are grabbed the minute you open to the first page! Treat yourself to a really good read!

This is one very real life suspenseful book written like a non-stop roller coaster. It is one of the very few books that will reach deep into your soul and not let go. The reader is brought into the story as if living with the characters and sharing the experiences. This is one book I highly recommend and looking forward to the next installment in this series with GREAT anticipation!! Terry Keys has just been added to my MUST read list of authors!!
The Shadows (The Books of Elsewhere, Vol. 1) :: Good Fortunes (A Claire Rollins Mystery Book 1) :: A Good Man Gone (Mercy Watts Mysteries Book 1) :: The World's Masterpieces Explored and Explained (Dk Smithsonian) :: A Riley Ellison Mystery (Riley Ellison Mysteries)

I couldn't put this book down. The storyline grabbed me from the get-go. As a mother, it was disturbing to read about children being brutally murdered in the way they were. But, to experience it from the detectives POV & how was rough. I did want to shake him in regards to his relationship with Staci, but did see how he tried to make it work. Excellent book. Highly recommend it.

Frankly, this is not the best writing in the world & the behavior of the main character is unbelievable at times. In spite of that I grew attached to the characters. The ending is a blatant cliff hanger to get you to want the next book. It worked. I need to know what happens next. I will be very disappointed if the next book has the same kind of ending.

I received a copy of this book from eBook Discovery in exchange for my honest review.
I really liked this book and it did keep me on the edge of my seat however for a world class detective that is so smart and great at crime scenes, he doesn't seem to be very smart about human nature. Some parts of the book were a little unbelievable but a good read overall.

This was great story. I admire Hillary because she knew something was not right. That Stacy was very evil to keep Miranna as long as she did. I could not believe she live thru this with only dog food to eat. I guess I was a little at David that he got involved so soon even though Stacy was pushing it. He should have more respect for his wife.

Oh a really super read. I found the book exciting to put it mildly and am very keen on reading more from this author. Although a thriller, I must admit I shed a few tears near the end as well. I think as a mother the storyline was quite frightening.

The story started good, but the Best Detected around was really stupid, his teenager daughter smoking weed knew more than him, and lots of the story was unrealistic; Unless you plan to buy the other books you do now know the ending. Very disappointing Read a book that is a full book from start to finish

The aftermath of a college incident follows Detective Porter several years later. It threatens his family as a whole and individually.
I REALLY want book 2 now! Hope my library carries it. Will have to try the rest of thus authors books also!

Chained Guilt is a good read. The characters are well described and are consistent in their behavior. The protagonists are strong and determined the antagonist is wicked beyond imagination. This book has a horror feel to it and also fulfills the description of a police procedural.

The perfect life is what Detective David Porter had: perfect wife, perfect daughters. Then a psychopath from Porter's past slips into his life and begins shredding it from the inside. Demonic destruction of all that Porter holds dear is the goal. This one will prey on your mind.

So disappointing! The story started well but quickly deteriorated. The "brilliant" detective all of a sudden got stupid and let some woman seduce him and totally make a fool of him. So ridiculous. And then the ending is a cliffhanger with the idiot executive's daughter missing. Puh_leeze!!

I thought the main character was a little pre-occupied with himself, and forgot for a while the woman he said he loved beyond life, but wasted no time in falling prey to a pretty face with ulterior motives.

I live in Portland, by the Burnside Bridge. That is why I picked up this book. The characters draw the reader into the story, and I want to read more about them. I recommended this book to my friends.

Terry's story definitely will challenge your skills of deduction even though you know who the psycho is. Trying to understand how someone could be so evil is a harbinger of dread and cause for potential nightmares. Can't wait for book 2!!!

There are lots of murder mysteries and have been for a long while. Somehow the psycho-murders may bring me to realize that " life shouldn't be taken for granted; ....can become too brief...." I`m sure you will enjoy this detective mystery.

Terry Keys weaves a suspenseful story involng a Houston detective and a serial killer who targets his family, always staying one step ahead of him. Once I started the story, I was emersed into the lives involved and felt like I was right there feeling the frustration and fear. A very well thought out plot and wonderfully written. I would give ten stars if I could. I've already downloaded the second book that plays out the second half of ythe story. I received this book from EBook Discovery in exchange for my honest review.

David Porter, a seasoned and compassionate detective, a family man, can claim his rightful place alongside James Patterson's Alex Cross. Terry Keys is a breath of fresh air in this genre... Keep it coming, buddy..!

Book was interesting, suspenseful but simply a tease to buy the next book in Mr. Keys series. Ending dropped reader without ending story leaving book purchaser feeling frustrated. Would not recommend.
