Thank you Hazel Hunter! Having become a fan of her previous series Silver Wood Coven, I was looking forward to her new book. It is everything I expected from the author and more. Kinley Chandler is "fierce" to use an old school phrase, a force to be reckoned with. Lachlan is worthy of Kinley possessed with strength and sexiness. I thoroughly enjoyed that Kinley was depicted as a resilient warrior Throw the time travel elements and Scotland into the story, I was hooked. This is a compete standalone story, looking forward to more from HH.

I read an ARC of this book.

4.5 stars!

I quite liked this story. I liked both Lachlan and Kinsley. I was drawn into their world and quite enjoyed the development of their love story. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a good read without a bunch of emotional tugging. I plan to come back to this series.

Very nice, good plot twists and romantic ending with plenty of heat. I enjoyed reading it and while I was able to put it down, I also could not wait to pick it back up. I think folks who want magic, action, betrayal and redemption will enjoys this, to me it was better than TV.

Great read! a lot of plot coming together well. a bit anticlimactic but thats because its leading into the next book not the finale of the story which is refreshing. Could be smoother in places maybe fleshed out a bit more deeply but I really liked the story.

I love to read, and I especially love Scottish romances, historical fiction and nonfiction, time-travel, and mysteries. In truth, I often read books that may not be the greatest, but I read them anyway. But, this book takes the prize for one of the worst I have ever read! It started out well, and I was looking forward to getting into the story. Her transition into Scotland was interesting. But then it took a turn for the worse. It seemed to be time-travel-gory science fiction-horror. I was really disappointed but kept reading anyway, but called it quits after about 6 chapters. I found it too graphic and violent. To me, it seemed like the author couldn't decide what kind of story she wanted to write. If I could return a Kindle book I would return this book.

A historical, paranormal romance with smut, a delightful read worthy of a big bowl of popcorn, a cup of tea, and an uninterrupted evening.
Read it in two sittings; intriguing character premise that promises further delights, so I just bought the second one.
