Interesting story line. This book was well written and emotional. The descriptions of the Scottish countryside made me feel like I was in the car with Keir and Jessica. I really enjoyed this story. I would recommend it.

I really enjoyed this book. This was my first book by Karina Halle but will not be the last. It was very emotional. Both the H and the h were likable and you can't help but root for them to have their HEA. No Cliffhanger.

Wasn't expecting to read such a powerful story! WOW!!! Karina.....you blew me away with how raw and real you made Keir and Jessica's story to be. I couldn't put the book down. Congrats on making me feel like was right there with them in the car discovering the Highlands of Scotland. I never get tired of the spectacular way you make a story come to life. It's not just the characters (which I can't get enough of) but you also make the location another character of the story. It's simply BRILLIANT!

This was such an awesome story. Tragedy struck, love shows up, secrets are kept. This book really does have it all. Love, lust, lies. Life is not always easy and sometimes you need to accept life as it is or change it.

Karina Halle should be mandatory reading for anyone who thinks they can write a romance novel. It's not that I want all authors to have the same style as Ms. Halle, but rather that I want them to see the elements of a great book. 'The Debt' features two interesting, realistic characters who are given time to evolve. The prose is beautiful and the dialogue rings true. The story is paced perfectly drawing the reader in and there is plenty of steam.

I was bemused last week reading a critical review of a romance novel by a different author. I thought the reviewer made excellent points about a number of concerns. Someone responded by saying that people who read romance don't care about writing style, character development, or believability. I understand that this isn't Shakespeare, but find the idea that romance readers are less smart or more likely to accept shoddy writing to be demeaning.

Kudos to Karina Halle for showing that talented writers can excel in this arena and for elevating the romance genre. This is a novel to savor and reread.

Halle continues to not disappoint! All of the books in this series have been great, but this one had an unexpected dose of reality. Such an honest look I to love, trauma and guilt. Such an incredible me tale.

Jessica and Keir are both broken, both struggling. This is a great book filled with well built characters that are believable, lovable, and heartbreaking. I was swept away by the scenery of Scotland, as well as by their journey of growth. 4.5 stars!

Karina Halle has done it again. Her writing makes you feel things and live her characters stories right along with them. She makes you love, hurt, wonder and look within yourself.

Another fantastic story by Karina Halle. I just love reading about broken and flawed characters. The prologue to The Debt literally grabbed me and I couldn't stop reading! Jessica is such a relatable character and my heart broke for her and what she had been through. Keir is such a wonderfully broken man. These two really pulled at the heart strings. Once again, Karina Halle wowed me with her beautifully discriptive scenery, that always makes me feel like I'm present with the characters. Great love story about two people who have to rise from the ashes!

Stunning character development and word wizardry that draws you in and makes you feel like you're in the story. I enjoyed The Debt so much, and applaud Ms. Halle for tackling a tough subject matter with so much passion and honesty.

Karina Halle has a way of writing perfectly imperfect men that you love. Keir was.not an exception. Great read for ladies like me that enjoy not only a strong yet sensitive male, but also a strong female heroine.
