I had dropped sugar and simple carbohydrates from my diet a few years ago. When I do eat sugar I try to keep it under 10grams so I'm not really sure why I bought this book. However if you are a person who eats sugary products, sweet drinks or soda, and consumes a lot of simple carbohydrates then I would DEFINITLY recommend this book to lose weight. Once you eliminate the foods "Zero Sugar Diet" recommends a person should drop a good 25 pounds. My son who was not over weight stopped drinking soda and he went down two pants sizes.

Love reading all of the research about how bad sugar is to your overall health. Recipes are easy and wonderful. The best part of this diet is the author understands how good fruit is for you and does not exclude it from your meals!!

I have been trying to reduce sugar due to diabetes running in my family. This is pretty simple advice of the sugar/fiber combo. Easy to follow. I cannot buy the bread in my area but I have been doing without bread but still eating plenty of sugar free carbs. I have never been a bread lover and after 2 weeks the whole grain pasta will be allowed, so not incredible hard to follow after 14 days.

It's a useful book and following the guidelines has reduced cravings for me. There are several options to use: he gives general 'rules' for each meal/snack, he gives specific menus for each, and he give recipes for several additional options for each. I just followed the rules with my own menus. Trying to follow someone else's specific meal plan every day, especially if cooking for multiple people, is a bit of a pain, but you don't need to anyway. He does repeat a lot, but there is also good information throughout. My gripe is the lack of website information. You shouldn't give a blurb at the end advertising a website with "1000+ more no-sugar-added products and ... restaurant dishes" and then make that information impossible to find. It's mainly just a link to buy the books. I already did, thanks, don't need another one. If that's fixed I will update my review to 4 or 5 stars.
