I loved this story. The character interactions are great. Can't wait to read more of Samantha Young's books.I gave it to my daughter to read and she insists as I get more in this series I have to send them to her. Another fan I guess.

Absolutely love this book, and the whole series. If you love paranormal romance, shape shifters, vampires, and fairies this is the book for you. It is a pretty long book which is right up my ally since I blow through books so fast. Well worth the price, its worth much more :) There are tons of surprises along the way, many I never would have seen coming, it was well thought out. You can tell the author put a lot of time and research into this series which has many elements of from Greek Gods, which was fascinating as I knew nothing about them. Can not wait for more from this amazing author!!! :-)

My introduction to Samantha Young was with another one of her books - I started with The Warriors of Ankh series. Loved it - now I've started reading the Lunarmorte series - Amazing! I love her writing style, I adore the characters. You're sucked in immediately, you care immediately, and she has this flare and style that just suck you in. ABSOLUTELY recommend - I think she's fabulous!

LOVED this book!!!

I really enjoyed almost everything about this book; ALL the characters and the story: I even stayed up wayyyy past my bedtime to finish the story and had to wipe my eyes dry at some parts.

I definitely would have given this 5 stars except for two things. First of all, the author changes between first person and third person in really confusing and awkward places. For example, females A and B are having a conversation that runs something like this (including the formatting).

A says something.
B says something
A says something. B says something.
She says something.

And that's where things get confusing - which 'she' is the author referring to?!

Second, there seemed to be a lot of editing errors: missing words (articles, nouns, verbs, etc). I had to reread multiple sentences multiple times and try to figure out what was supposed to be going on.

Anyhow - the story is good enough that I still give this 4 stars and still thoroughly enjoyed the book. The characters are interesting, there's a ton of romantic tension, cattiness, revenge, betrayal, magic - this book essentially has EVERYTHING. I downloaded this for free and I think it is a real gem.

I loved the story and the Greek mythology that was woven throughout. This is certainly a unique new take on paranormal YA, and I'm liking it! The editorial could use some work, but hopefully that will be sorted out before the next edition. Overall, I'd recommend it to anyone that likes this genre.

This book was really awesome. Worth way more than the .99 cent price tag. The supernatural world that the author has created is engrossing. Loved Pack Errante and the whole pack dynamics. Definitely going to read this whole series.

This book is geared toward teen fantasy fiction lovers- i myself am a little older, and have only read a few fantasy books, but still having a great time reading. Love the mythical references, the character development and the pace of this twisting and evolving plot. Ms. Young creates a whole exciting and dangerous world, but leads you through it with a very likable main character. Really fun read!

Caia (mate to pack's alpha) and her friend Sabastian (both teen pack members) spend a great deal of time "smirking", disrespecting, and disobeying Lucien the alpha of thier pack. Hard to take a lead male seriously when he allows this to continue for most of the story. Snarky can be cute but this plot goes overboard with the term smirk.

A vulnerable and guilt-ridden weregirl moves in with her pack after ten years of absence and big-surprise: turns out she's super special and everyone wants her to either die or be their mate.

Alright so I don't usually factor in the author's age or the price of the book when I write reviews but...in this case I definitely rounded up. For once, this turned out to be one of those YA PNRs that was just too juvenile for me. Normally, I wouldn't factor that into my review either, but from some of the things that were going on in the book I was left with the distinct impression that it was actually supposed to be for the older teens, so I was confused.

The characters were sort of 2 dimensional and sometimes the story was confusing. Caia is supposed to be 18 but she's got the maturity level of a 13 year old. She is perpetually shy and unsure of herself--always ducking her head, biting her lip, etc--and she's just so ridiculously unaware of the fact that everyone's lusting after her, that I often found myself flipping through the book, over and over again (so annoying on a kindle), to check her age. I was like, really, this chick is supposed to be old enough to have sex?

I also found her love interest really disturbing. Lucien is written like a 30-40yr old man; he's the leader of the pack, with his own house and business and everything, so what's he doing lusting after this high school girl? Kinda gross if you ask me (it just seemed so wrong!).

On top of that, the story gets downright confusing at times (like in the beginning), though the storyline DID actually seem to get better as it went on, which is why I rounded up. I guess if I was 15 I might have thought it was awesome.

Spoiler alert! ..........

I regret staying up so late. So this book had me staying up to 2.50am!! The next day was the start of that week and I had a busy day ahead of me. I was so keen to discover if Caia and Lucien would end up together at the end. A hint for any other authors out there who plan to write a series. LEARN how to write endings. You have invested the reader's time and feelings into these characters, and then at the end, leave us very unsatisfied. I don't care how well you write if you can't finish a story. If you are writing a story with romance in it, have the romantic couple be happy at the end. If they can't be happy, there must be a reason other than he lied to her. You are a writer, manipulate your manuscript so he grovels and she does forgive him!!!

I'm burned out on series like this. This morning I am tired and ticked off. I was so interested in this story and it read so well, but you just killed everything with this ending. I understand the same characters will be in the next book, but if I didn't even get a taste of a happy ending in this one, I sure as heck am not getting one in the next! I must mention I'm sick (have a dreaded cold), should have been sleeping, but just had HAD to finish this novel. Now I feel like the author has given me a rotten apple and the last bite? Not worth it.

You build us up with tension, then do not give us the conclusion where we know our time has been worth it!! 2.50am!!! That's how invested I was and you totally destroyed it. Learn how to write a happy for now ending to give the reader some satisfaction. If you have no happy for now - then make it a SOLID reason why they can't be together. Like she gets beamed to another planet or something. I'm just disgusted.

I must admit I liked the mystery behind caia. Her past, her link to the pack, her bloodline...well written, very intriguing. I LOVED the instant connection with Lucien the alpha. Watching that dynamic unfold long with Caias developing abilities was captivating. I was team "Lucaia" all the way. Then Young adds a spicy mix of angst in fellow characters all while meeting new super naturalist. Yep...I'm digging it! But then....

(Spoiler) Young writes a contradiction in her story that just kind of erks me. I love reading about possessive werewolves. I get that the "mate" bond is a huge deal. What I don't get is when a writer works so hard to articulate that issue so well that we drink the kool aide (like guzzle it) only to then completely hit the self-destruct button. For caia to ignore the mate bond completely and disrespect Lucien not only as a mate (no pull to him at all...Whatever) but as her alpha too. Nope. Not sold. To incorporate how intense and strong Lucien is but then to write how Seb completely gives him no honor or respect to his Alpha or his orders was insulting. Then Luciens wolves hold him back...what? If your alpha you should be able to inflict power and pain when it's deserved without your subordinates getting in the way. Yeah. All of that just made me mad. That said I clearly loved the writing because it caused me to run a gambit of emotions. However I can't sit through the last 2 books being conflicted in Caia and Luciens relationship. I need closer. I need Caia to grow up and Lucien to get strong again and for them to have a HEA.

I liked the story. It's different from the other wolf or magic books I've read. The characters are likable (have you ever read a book, and you just don't care if everyone dies? You don't have to worry about that here)

I agree with others, the punctuation, grammar and writing left much to be desired. I'm usually good with overlooking these things, because I personally, suck at it. However, I hate it when I have to re-read a sentence because it didn't make sense. Then you have to figure out what the author meant to say. It interrupts the flow of the story. It's frustrating.

The other tidbit I will add is the points of view. I love having different points of view in a story, but I wish that they were labeled. "Cain" "Lucien" "Ethan". Very easy to just insert that at the beginning. Trying to figure out who you are reading also becomes frustrating and takes away from the story.

The grammar as well as points of view can be changed/fixed and the book could be updated. The story itself was enjoyable, and worth reading.

If you like books that make you annoyed then this is the read for you. This book had me constantly groaning and not in a good way. Caia is a teenager. She acts like a teenager. The fact that Lucian is in his mid twenties make it a little awkward. But it’s Caia’s childish antic that really ruin the book for me. She obviously has feelings for Lucian but instead of owning up to them she pushes them away because they’re not on her exact terms. She pushes Lucian away and I can understand it to a point because he refuses to say how he feels and makes her feel like an obligation. Not sure it’s with the groaning and frustration to read the rest of the series.

I have a hard time separating this book from others written by this author. I really enjoyed one of her series and find myself comparing this to it and finding it falling short.

On its own, it's a pretty standard premise and one that the author has done in both of her other YA series--hybrid with untold powers destined to do great things. With it being set in a world of werewolves, witches, and vampires, it's not a particularly new take on the world, but it is done just fine.

The characters are decent, but again lacking the depth that her other books shows. The heroine is all over the place, but not terribly different or unique from any other heroine. The hero is the usual broody type, but without any sort of explanation for his broodiness.

The book is entertaining, but nothing terribly unique or stand out from any other YA paranormal romance. There were moments when the characters or plot would push in more compelling areas, but it just didn't quite push it far enough. It's hard, because I keep comparing it to her other books and it just doesn't stand up to them.

An interesting, unique take on shifters, I'm looking forward to the introduction of Vampyres and to see what will come of Lucien and Caia.

I liked all of the characters, Caia started off weak but quickly came into her abilities and power. Lucien was a bit of a gruff but I enjoyed his protectiveness and the banter he shared with Caia, although there were too many secrets.

Loved Jaedyn and Sebastian. The Pack were great, I liked the closeness they shared - Alexa grated on my nerves.

Although the book started slowly for me it quickly picked up; I liked the action and training sequences. Samantha Young's writing is effortless and engaging.

Filled with betrayal, interesting history, great characters and a nice budding romance, I'm keen to read more in this series.

Entwining Greek Mythology and the supernatural comes easy to Ms. Young. Moon Spell is a wonderful combination of both and kept me flipping these pages. I had a little trouble with the beginning but as we voracious readers know, the first book in a series slams you with the entire history to bring us up to speed for future books.

Young's heroine is Caia who has lived separate for her pack called, Pack Errante. She has been protected until she is ready to face her destiny. Now that Lucian has killed The Hunter (who eradicated Caia's family) and assumed the Alpha position it is time to bring her back and face their future together.

Caia does her best to integrate back into the pack and Lucian believes that she will connect better if she attends a semester of school with lykans her own age. Caia is not a normal lykan, however. There is something very different about her and Lucian knows. He also knows that they are destined to be together and the sizzle between them is palpable every time they are in the same room (HOT, HOT, HOT). Lucian is very Alpha and sometimes that gets him in trouble with the VERY independent Caia. Young's supporting cast of characters make for some great reading. Sebastian, who is also falling in love with Caia, is such a sweety!! Caia also starts to realize what she has been missing out her entire life. She may be independent but she has always dreamed about having a family.

Things are not safe for Caia. Her uncle, who is now very aware that she is still alive, wants her dead. Because of Caia's mixed heritage, she is a HUGE threat to her uncle and he will stop at nothing to see her dead. At the same time, Caia is coming into her special powers and realizing how powerful she really is.

The twists and turns leave you breathless and anticipating the climax. Caia's growth from a quite, reserved little girl into a strong, powerful woman equal to her Alpha is intense and dramatic and flows naturally throughout this book. Moon Spell is worth the read and you will fall in love with Young's characters, evil and good. I look forward to this story continuing. A strong 4 of 5 stars!

I love werewolf stories and this was a fantastic one! Moon Spell is somewhat different and fun.

Caia is returning to her pack after being away from them for ten years. Most of the pack welcomes her home while others want nothing to do with her. She has a difficult time adjusting to living with the pack again. Then Caia finds out the she is half lykan and half magik. There are secrets, a love triangle and a war going on to add to the mix.

I loved Lucien, I mean who wouldn't? He is the hot alpha male leader and did I mention he is hot? LOL The tension between him and Caia builds up throughout the book and then... well you'll have to read to find out. Caia is a kick butt kinda girl. She stands up for herself and her friends. She doesn't take crap from anyone, even Lucien. I also really like Sebastian, he is a really good guy and a great friend to Caia. Saffron, the fairy, loved her. She was so funny and just kinda popped up with these one liners. All the characters were well written, these were just some of my favorites.

The author really brought this story to life. I connected with the characters right from the start. Once I started reading it, I didn't want to stop. I love how the author brought so many things to this book. There are different paranormal/mythical creatures, mythology, romance, suspense and humor. I liked how it took some time for things to build up, it just made the story more fun to read. I cannot wait to see what happens next!

This e-book was given to me for review. This did not affect my review in any way.

Lunarmorte is a fantastic debut book, that is rich in detail and rooted in ancient greek mythology. It was so fascinating to read, and I'm not sure which hooked me more, the history of the story or the story itself. The characters were easy to relate to and I completely fell in love with them. I loved Samantha's unique spin with her character's paranormal gifts, as she threw together a great mix with lykans, witches, faeries, and vampyres.

I absolutely loved Lunarmorte's wolves. I really enjoyed feeling apart of their world and getting to know the pack members and seeing their dynamics through seventeen year old Caia. Hidden and protected for the last ten years, Caia is just now returning to her pack. I liked how realistic her transition was, and finding out what secrets the pack has kept from her, and I felt the various emotions she went through in finding out more about her family and the history of her pack. Caia is a wonderful character and she had me laughing out a loud with her wit and sarcasm. She really grew the most, as she starts off shy and a little naive, but quickly grows into a strong, independent character as she learns more about who she is and how to use her powers. I was most fascinated with Caia's "hidden" power. I won't say what that is, to keep this review spoiler free, but Samantha Young knows how to through in some wonderful twists, making her paranormal book truly unique.

The setting is perfect and one I really enjoyed, as it's set in the middle of the woods and completely fitting for a pack of wolves. I really enjoyed the interaction with the wolves in both their human form and their wolf form. Let me just say, there is some great chemistry between Caia and her pack's leader/her guardian, Lucien. Their relationship is full of twists and turns, and one I liked watching evolve. Samantha did a nice job at sneaking in a little steamy scene into the story when I least excepted.

I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next for Caia, Lucien and the pack and what kind of war will be ragged in the next book in the series. With a fascinating history and mythology at it's core, wrapped up with some great chemistry, throw in some romance that will leave you wanting more, and topped off with some great action, Lunarmorte is one book I will read again and highly recommend. This is a great read for 14 years and older, and definitely has adult appeal, as the main characters are in their late teens and early twenties.

Moon Spell
(The Tale of Lunarmorte, Book #1)
by Samantha Young

Genre: Paranormal Romance | Young-Adult (16+)

Rating: 4.5

It's bad enough feeling different among the human crowd, but feeling different among wolves? No one said returning to her pack would be easy, especially after ten years without them, but seventeen year old Caia Ribeiro is unprepared for the realities of the transition. Raised in a world where kids aren't scared by bedtime tales of the bogeyman but by the real life threat of enemy supernaturals who might come creeping into their community to kill them in their sleep, Caia is used to the darkness; she's used to the mystery and the intrigue of the ancient underworld war she's bound to by chance of birth. What she's having trouble with are pack members treating her with wary suspicion, the Elders tucking secrets behind their backs out of her sight-line, and her young Alpha, Lucien, distracting her, with a dangerous attraction, from her decision to discover the truth. But as the saying goes `the truth will out' and when it does, Caia will only have so long to prepare herself before the war comes pounding on their door threatening to destroy the safe, secret lives of the wolves... and the girl they protect.

Caia has been in hiding since her parents tragic death and, right before her 18th birthday, is being brought back into her father's pack, Pack Errante. Because of her shrouded past and unfamiliarity with the supernatural society around her, Caia reluctantly accepts that she has a lot of deep trust issues to resolve with her pack due to (surprisingly!) being treated with suspension and fear. Yet, the one person who attempts to ease Caia back into being a pack member is also the one person she is (secretly!) promised to as mate-- Lucien, the young alpha. Adjusting to a new school, new family members, and a new home is tough enough, but even more so when dark secrets from Caia's past become unearthed and the life, that Caia was so familiar with, turns upside down.

I was so excited I found this e-book since I was very eager to read this series... and overall... I was NOT disappointed. It was a fascinating book with lots of supernatural intrigue and budding romance. Caia is a torn (and somewhat indecisive) character throughout much of the story; torn about how to react to her mysteries past, torn about her position within the pack, and torn about her acceptance of a relationship with Lucien. As much as her uncertainty about everything could easily cause the reader to frown upon her as a faltering character, Caia succeeds in perfectly balancing out her wavering thoughts with a sense of innocent vulnerability and stubborn persistence. Plus, her personal connections with Lucian (steamy!) and her new friends within the pack (endearing!) create a well-balance protagonist that is hard not to enjoy. Expect lots of twists and surprises throughout the book in regards to the upcoming supernatural war and Caia's close association with it, but largely, Moon Spell, is about a girl adapting to a new life-style change (be it...a change in an out-of-the-ordinary world full of werewolves, witches, and fairies - Oh My!)

Likes: Really enjoyed the Greek Mythology weaved throughout the pack's origins.

Dislikes: Not really a fan of the Midnight Coven and/or those associated with the magical arts throughout the tale. I was disappointed b/c many of their scenes throughout the story, in regards to "magic," were kind of blah and humdrum.

I'm struggling between two and three stars on this one, and I may change it later. In the first 30%, I repeatedly considered quitting this book, but I'm glad I didn't. It got good. I enjoyed it, but a lot of things bothered me about it too.

My problems were: (1) The pack Alpha turned into a pushover around the main character. Not sexy. (2) We've got pop culture to references to Spiderman and Underworld, but the main character feels the need to run across town, on two separate occasions, in the middle of the night to communicate with folks. And there's a witch who repeatedly travels back and forth between her people and the lykans to pass messages. Where are the mobile phones?! (3) The numerous grammatical errors and typos made me sad. :(

Despite my issues with it, I felt invested in the growing romantic relationship. I'll read the next book.

Before I go, I should add: I really enjoyed the sex scene. It was hot without being explicit, so it was appropriate for a mature YA book. Loved that scene!

The Tale of Lunarmorte series: Moon Spell, River Cast, Blood Solstice

Enjoyed this series (especially the first two books) but would not say it's a must read before you die.

The first two books were great and went by fast because I couldn't put it down. This is a good summer read - light, good teen drama. I liked how the main characters interacted, how they got to know each other, and thought they were good together. There was good build up but how they got together wasn't done that well. The 3rd book, although enjoyable, didn't live up to how great the first two were. The "romance" between Lucien and Caia seemed blah by the end. The conflict between their love lives were good conflicts, but how it was resolved was just ok, could have been done better.

Disturbingly delicious, Sam Young shines in her debut novel.

In LUNARMORTE, the first of a trilogy, we follow Caia, the newest member of a Lycan wolf pack, as she struggles to fit into a family she has never known. Adding to the list of her troubles is the pack leader, Lucien, who has the hots for her.

But when a friend goes missing, will she have the courage to do what's right and save her, or will she be too late?

Ms. Young is the latest author to jump on the werewolf craze, which she does with effortless style. She individualizes her tale with mythological roots and a fantastical world full of magic and endless possibilities. Young's characters take on a life of their own to the point where you can't help but believe they're real.

A fair warning, this intoxicating romance will leave you hungry for more!

Her future was set into motion long before Caia Ribeiro was born. Gaia, Mother of all the gods, had grown tired of the war that her children waged upon each other. In her infinite wisdom she set forth a plan that would eventually stop the war. And unbeknownst to Caia, she was at the very heart of it.

Hidden away from her pack for ten years after her family was killed by The Hunter, an enemy of Pack Errante and member of the Midnight Coven, Caia is finally allowed to return home. But her return is not exactly a welcome event.

The pack had already lost family members protecting her. And her absence from the pack for so long meant that she was an outsider. An outsider that couldn't necessarily be trusted and someone who didn't necessarily trust them.

She knew that she was different from all the other lykans in the pack, she just didn't know quite how different. She didn't resemble them in look, nor did she have their quick tempers and easy camaraderie. But spending much of her life in near isolation away from the pack was bound to make her different.

What she didn't understand were the dark looks she got from some of the other pack members. All she knew was that they were keeping secrets. Secrets about her family. Secrets about her past. And secrets about why she alone was the target of the Midnight Coven's wrath.

But when those secrets come to light, will Caia be able to accept what she learns about who she is and what she has the potential to become?

***

Moon Spell is an intoxicating and utterly entertaining story that is brilliantly written. The dramatic opening paragraph will entice readers in and once the story sinks its claws in it won't let go until the very last word in the epilogue.

The story centers around Caia, a lykan who has been living under special protection apart from her pack since her family was killed by The Hunter. She and her guardian, Irini, were allowed to return when it was deemed safe enough, after The Hunter was found and killed.

When Caia returns she is immediately drawn to the pack Alpha, Lucien, who is to be her protector. And much to the dismay of another female pack member, Lucien seems drawn to her. But Lucien and the rest of the pack are keeping things from her. And her discovery of those secrets may cause Caia to walk away from her friends, from her pack and from Lucien, not only for their betrayal but for their safety.

Author Samantha Young has done a sensational job in crafting this world of lykans, magiks and other supernaturals, and in creating a harmonious balance between light and dark, good and evil, and love and loss.

The dynamic she has created between her two main characters, Caia and Lucien, elevates this story above many of its peers. Each of them struggles with their feelings for each other, with the complicated relationship they have with one another, and with their responsibilities and what is necessary for the greater good.

Her secondary characters are not left out and play an integral role in this story that continues for two more books. Each of whom, from the plotting and manipulative Alexa to the cocky and overconfident Mal to the sweet and good-hearted Jaeden to the kind and loyal Sebastian, adds to the story's appeal.

Moon Spell is not a book to be missed. It is perfect for readers who love all things paranormal, who want to get a feel for what it is like to run with the wolves, who love dramatic tension between the female and male leads and who don't mind the tears that come when a beloved character is lost along the way.

My favorite passage is actually the first:

The war had been raging for centuries; a war that breathed beneath human reality, lost in the labyrinth of their legends and folklore. It was a silent war of soundless screaming and invisible bloodshed.

***

A note to readers: In its eBook format, the story has not been adapted for an American audience so readers should expect alternate spelling and punctuation as well as certain "Britishims."

Another good YA book to immerse yourself in. Here's what to expect; lykans, faeries, vampyres, magiks (spellings are from the book) Greek mythology, prophecies, action and romance. Yup, all that goodness in one book.

Author Samantha Young weaves together a world where the supernatural beings are descended from Greek Gods and belong to either the Daylight Coven (good guys) or the Midnight Coven (bad guys). Moon Spell introduces us to Caia, a 17 year old lykan who has spent the last ten years away from her pack in order to protect her from the zealous Midnighter who killed her parents. Though the centuries old war between the Midnight and Daylight coven is still going strong, it is finally safe enough for Caia to return to her pack. The reunion, however, isn't a seamless one. While Caia is accepted by some pack members, she is outright shunned and distrusted by others. It doesn't help that an intense attraction ignites the moment Caia and the young -ish- pack Alpha Lucien lay eyes on each other. Soon Caia realizes that the pack is hiding something from her and to top it all off, Caia begins to notice that she differs from the other pack members, in physique, demeanor and ability. Needless to say (whatever, I'm saying it anyway), Caia is in for a world of change especially after learning that she is more powerful than she ever imagined. And by the way, Caia's power is one of the best and most awesome that I've read about in a long while.

A few of the characters we meet include Jae who is fun, bubbly and an instant friend to Caia. We also get to know Sebastian, a genuine and loyal guy who forms one of the angles in a love triangle with Caia and Lucien. For readers who aren't fans of love triangles, don't worry this one does not drag out and it's not the main focus of the book. We also get to meet resident mean girl Alexa, with her ambitions of becoming the mate to pack Alpha Lucien, she has every incentive to hate Caia. And since every mean girl needs a side kick, we have Alexa's best friend Dana, whose only contribution to the book is to give Caia the evil eye. I felt like jumping into this book and kicking her in the eye.

Lucien and Caia's relationship - contentious at times, hot and steamy at others - is surely a must see, or read as it were. It was exciting to watch Caia develop from slightly insecure and reserved to a strong and courageous heroine who isn't afraid butt to heads with her Alpha. And let me tell you, standing up to Lucian will not even compare to the EVIL that Caia will have to face.

The only issue I have with this book is the way that the secrets were revealed to Caia. As pack Alpha Lucien decides when it is time to tell Caia the truth. I kept waiting and waiting but what does Lucien do? Nothing. The truth isn't revealed until Lucien's hand is forced after Caia loses control and comes within mere seconds of revealing the pack to her human classmates. And still Lucien holds back and keeps one more secret to himself. This one also only reveled when Lucien has no choice. Still I enjoyed this book.

Overall, Moon Spell is a great read. I love strong, gutsy heroines who make smart decisions and Caia does not disappoint.

If you choose to read this book then you're in for a treat because the series is COMPLETE!!!!! No waiting around for the next book to be released. I'm not sure if I'll do a review for the other two books in this series but you should know that they are just as good if not better than Moon Spell.

I thought this was a fairly well-written book with good characters who acted appropriately within the framework of the story and their lives. I am, however, sick to death of "strong-willed outsider female stands up to alpha male" stories... and this definitely is one. That's my own thing, though, so if you like that, great. And if you don't, it's not too terrible (and only really gets going in the final third of the book).

Anyway, it was fun and fairly quick. There were some typos and some passages that were confusing (that is, badly written), but overall it was fine. I am definitely interested in the rest of the series, particularly with how this one ended! Perfect epilogue to keep me wanting more.

Just like the original book Lunarmorte, Moon Spell is a fantastic book filled with a richly detailed, engaging wolf mythology, and lore rooted in ancient Greek Mythology. This unique mix along with a cast of various paranormal characters really makes Sam's stories stand out in a YA market full of great paranormal characters and plots. The story's strong, feisty, independent heroine Caia, and swoon worthy protective alpha, Lucien add the perfect blend of chemistry, and romance to a story ripe with action, twists and a little bit of snark.

I absolutely love the wolves in the Lunarmorte series. This is one group of wolves I'd love to spend the day with and it wasn't hard to fall in love with them or their family dynamics. I liked that Sam allowed me to feel a connection to them through Caia's story. Caia not only has to learn both her lykan heritage and her magik powers, but she has to adjust to being surrounded by a large, loving, protective and at times fun loving pack. Not feeling like she belongs could be Caia's biggest down fall and it's what makes her so vulnerable to part of the story's plot.

Let me just say, Moon Spell doesn't have any shortage of action, character chemistry, and twists. There's a lot of great interaction with the pack both in their human and wolf forms, which I really enjoyed. Let's just say there's a great war brewing between the lykans & vampyres against the dark magik alliance with the deamons, faeries. I enjoyed Moon Spell just as much as I enjoyed Lunarmorte and I definitely recommend picking it up.

This is a must read. A beautiful, fully realized world rich in mythology, hilarious American pop culture references, terrifying creatures and circumstance and of course, finding true love in the midst of it all. Sam's writing is brilliant and her characters engaging. I challenge anyone not to fall in love with this series. Did I mention werewolves(lycans) and vampyres, magick and epic battles? Do yourself a favor and get this book.

Moon Spell is a romantic fantasy with a feisty heroine, sexy alpha hero, and a wonderful mythology that pulls you in from the very first page. Not only do I love the plot to Moon Spell, which had sprinkles of true uniqueness throughout it, but I love the characters. Caia is a girl who starts off as quite reserved and then as she's taken through all the twists and turns (and there are many!) of rejoining the pack and discovering who she really is, she develops into this strong young woman who knows her own mind. The pack itself are full of wonderful, rambunctious, funny characters, and you really do forget that they're not real as you're reading about them. Finally I just loved the way Young uses Greek mythology to explain the existence of supernaturals, very different and exciting.
Now I can't wait for the next installment.

Pure escapism and a young adult novel for all ages!
