Loved this book. I often find that finding good friends to lovers stories can be hard but this one flowed so well that it was hard to put down. I enjoyed Matt as a character and loved seeing how his life had taken off from the success of his documentary. I did think Brooklyn's reason for not wanting to get with him was a bit flimsy (considering how clearly perfect they were together and how sexy she found him) for keeping her in denial for so many years but I really loved them together and loved getting to know their story.

The book is well written and you can't help but love all the characters in it. So glad I own the book because I'll definitely be rereading it while I wait for something else to catch my attention. Can't wait to read more in the series!

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This is the 2nd book (standalone) in the Again for the First time series, and I was anxiously awaiting to read Matt and Brook's story since I really liked their characters in first book. In this sweet love story we get to see if Matt and Brook can move out of the 'friendzone' and become lovers. I will admit, Brook made me want to reach into my iPad and slap her! Matt adored her and any woman would be lucky to find their very own Matteo! He is a successful photographer/director and only has eyes for Brooklyn! **swoon**
I don't want to give too much of he story away, but this is a great read if you love an a great romance read!

I was given an advanced copy for a honest review. Let me start by saying the series is real. It takes on honest feelings and emotions and test the limits of love. We pick up with the story of Matt and Brooklyn. Matt is everything you hope in a man almost too perfect but what you want. Brooklyn, it was hard for me at times to understand her reluctance in letting Matt in, even with the reveal of why that was. I just wanted to smack her and tell her to snap out of it. We sometimes fall in the trap of painting everyone with the same brush and unfortunately it may hold us back from our blessings in the end love prevails. I enjoy Raven St. Pierre creativity and will continue to support her work.

Family and film making were the only top orders in Matt's like until he looked through the lens of his camera seeing Brooklyn. A connection denied from the start. Matt became a best friend holding on silently to his love remaining firm in hope that one day she'd finally see a them.

A young lady that puts the F in focus. Brooklyn sets out to control every aspect of her life. She doesn't have any friendships outside of her family until Matt worms his way in. Overlooking her unsociable ways they become best friends. Friendship draws them closer and her
barriers all drop seem to drop, but one.

Matt and Brooklyn was a nice story, but for me something was missing. I kept waiting to feel that want or need as I continued to read through each page. Still nothing will take me away from Raven's writings. I will definitely keep buying.

Matt and Brooklyn book was given to me for an honest review.

"You're simplifying this."
"And you're making this harder than it has to be."

*An ARC was provided by the author.*

Therein lies the nature of the relationship between Matt and Brooklyn. Having been in love for 2 or more years Matt wants more. For Brook ignorance is bliss. Or so she believes.

Matt was swoon worthy. I loved how patient he was with Brook. There were a couple of times when I became frustrated with her but overall I liked her as the heroine. She grew and matured as a person as evidenced by her decision to move from friends to lovers.

Received as ARC for a review......
Wow. This book was a knock out of the park. Well-written novel! I loved Matt and Brooklyn. They both had issues that they were able to conquer together. Matt had a love for Brooklyn that went far beyond anything anyone could phantom. He loved her even when she felt she couldn't love him. But they were their for each other to support each other in those hurt moments when life stepped in and seemed impossible. Great chemistry between the two. Great book to read. I really enjoyed every page! Congratulations!

This book is the second in a series about the Valente brothers and the James sisters. I read the first book in the series and loved it. But, I have to say this one tops the list for me. While the first book had a bit of mystical element about it, this book was more rooted in reality and handled the emotions of the main characters without too much outside of the mystical flair that wasn't so important to me.

The characters are beautifully written and remain true to form throughout the book. I loved the fact that Brooklyn remained true to herself and the personality that we learned to love (and dislike a little bit) from the first book. When she did have a change of heart about something, the change was organic and made sense based on the circumstances. In other words, the author did a great job developing her characters rather than coming up with a "POOF-instant character change" because there were less than 30 pages left in the book. I also loved Matt. That poor, sweet boy. A lesser man would have stood for much less, but he held true. I appreciated his resolve and although I don't know many men who would have done the same, he is a great example of the knight in shining armor that we have all looked for from time to time.

In all, I really enjoyed this book and can't want for the next one!

I really enjoyed Matt & Brooks story. I absolutely loved Matt he was very patient with Brook, because he knew from the first time he saw her that she was his soulmate. Brooklyn was in denial because of her past and very driven when it came to her education, which is a characteristic I identify with.

If you’re looking for a romantic read that start from being friends first before lovers this is the book for you. This is book #2 in a series so keep that in mind, but it can be read as a standalone.

Of course, I have come expect nothing but the best from Raven St. Pierre. She never disappoints. Brooklyn, that chica gave me an ulcer. Very frustrating character. Matt, St. Matt is what he should be called, having to deal with Brooklyn and her wall of resistance. An author has the ability to make you conjure up so many emotions while reading their work. That's what Raven did for me with this one. Jump on the rollercoaster ride that is Matt and Brooklyn, you won't be disappointed.

It just keeps getting better, my reading pleasure I get from your work... Thank you, not sure if I've said that in other reviews. This book shows a very intricate part to any relationship, FRIENDSHIP. Who knew after these two meeting in Again For The First Time, that they would become great friends. Again I was warmed from head to toe at the display of an abundance of love, laughter and family in this installment. I'm so excited to see if Matt's follow-up documentary is as successful of the first... Until next time.

I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review. This is the 2nd book in the Again for the First Time series and is a STANDALONE. Matt and Brooklyn kind of pickup where they left off in the last book as friends. The attraction between the two is undeniable but Brooklyn is fighting it and Matt is giving her space to figure it out. If you like a will they or won't they novel with a few twists and what the heck moments thrown in, then this is a novel I highly recommend.

This is a great story about friendship and love. You'll immediately fall in love with Matt and root for him to find his happiness. Brooke is more like lemonade a little bitter, but sweet at heart and she grows on you and you'll love her by the end . It's a series but don't fret if you haven't read book one it's okay it doesn't feel like you're missing anything, but if you're like me you'll go back and purchase it because the writing and characters are just that good.

This story was another very good story in the Again for the First Time family series. I like that the story does not shove the interracial element of this story in the readers face. I like that Brooklyn and Matt are ordinary people who fall in love. The friends to lovers scenario adds another favorite thing for me in a romantic novel. The story had just enough sexy to be worth reading. The storytelling was yet another reason to like this story..

This was another great book Raven!!!! This novel contains inspiration, intrigue, dreams, inspiration, and friendship. Matt made a break through in the film industry with his documentary of his two brothers and their marriages. During the filming process he noticed Brooklyn. I was happy to read that in the end they got together...

Matt and Brook's story is very well written. There are some hilariously funny moments as well as some very serious moments that blend well to form an exquisitely majestic romantic novel. I was hooked from the first few pages and how the story revealed itself I wasn't aware that I actually finished the book. I was pleased how Matt and Brook's story stayed within the parameters of the characters personalities. An excellent read. Enjoy.

Love, Love, Love this book written by woman who truly loves what she is doing. I loved the fact that the book felt like real life in some ways, there wasn't anything bad I could say about the story. Everything was amazing you know how you read a book and sometimes you hit some dry parts, well that doesn't happen at all in Matt & Brooklyn. Great job Raven St.Pierre :-)

Raven is one of my favorite authors. She writes in a way that is relatable. The characters are always well formed and rounded out and you can see yourself or someone you know in them.

Brooklyn and Matt - deep sigh. A tried and true love story. Brooklyn, ever the tough girl finally becomes vulnerable and you get to see a softness in her that all of us driven, independent, soft on the inside under the hardcore shell girls are. She loves deeply and undeniably so it's nice to finally see her in that way as well as her vulnerability and what has shaped her.

Matt always seemed like a perfect match for her with his great looks, calm but confident demeanor. It will be nice for those who haven't read the book to uncover if he's successful in his pursuit of her and if they wind up together.

This book will not disappoint! It will make your heart palpitate and eyes water.

Amazing how stubborn Brooklyn's character was. After she revealed her past I did sympathize, but I still think she was a bit extreme. I have to give it up to Matt's character though because he had the patience of a saint. Raven St. Pierre did a great job addressing addiction and the affect it has on others. Kudos to her. Can't wait for the next book. Great job.

Matt & Brooklyn was a wonderful addition to this series that endeared me to these two characters and their supporting cast even more than I already was after the first book in the AFTFT series. We not only get a romance between Matt and Brook; we get to see more of the James-Valente family dynamic. I enjoyed reading more about how both sets of siblings’ lives are playing out since the documentary. I’m looking forward to the next book which will take us back in time for how it all began decades ago. Matt & Brooklyn can easily be read as a standalone without feeling like you missed anything pivotal. Though I’d recommend picking up Again For the First Time and reading in order to get all the background on the James and Valente clans.

Best Friends to Lovers, Matt has always loved Brooklyn but does she feel the same?!?!? A trip to visit Matt turns best friends into lovers and so much more!! Raven puts her heart and soul into these characters. They are real, and you can see the scenes unfolding within the book. Do yourself self a favor and buy this story

Wonderful, this was truly a great read seeing how Brook and Matt get together. Knowing that just because you're a strong woman who believes in yourself doesn't mean you don't need love too! There is still someone out there who's waiting for you and willing to keep waiting!!!!

I can say that loved this book because Brooklyn did not give up on what she wanted to get the guy that she loved and it still worked out for them in the end. I also loved that Matt did not let her give up her dream just for him even tho he wanted her so much that is real love.

Matt and Brooklyn were a total breathe of fresh air...tbh I thought Brooklyn was gonna get on my nerves pushing Matt away but the way Raven St. Pierre told this tale was amazing and relatable. I love all of her books and his one is no different.... I don't want to give it away but don't miss this one because if you've read any of her other books you know she's not in the business of letting people down. I only wish it was longer. Lol ? Call me greedy, but can't wait for the next installment from the AFTFT family series!!!

I enjoyed the unfolding love story between Matt and Brooklyn. I really liked the realistic view the author took in bringing their story to life to show us how friends can turn into lovers if you just believe.

ARC provided by the author in exchange for an honest review* I loved this book. I loved the characters I loved that it frustrated me at times and I loved all the supporting characters. The mark of a great storyteller is someone that can have you on a roller coaster ride, cheering and booing characters alternately and feeling a great deal for the characters as you follow along with them. I don't know how she does it but Mrs. St Pierre has a way of making you fall in love with her characters. Her writing style is clean and beautiful her characters are believable, the dialog makes sense and her stories takes you on a wonderful ride leaving you wanting more. All I have to say is get this book you will enjoy every minute of it.

This story is Amazing!!!!!! The Writing is superb. Raven has a way of making you feel like your in the story like it's your own personal romance. By the end of the story I thought Matt was my man. The writing technique allows the words to jump off the pages as if they are coming alive in your own life. For that reason, I will always be a fan and continue to buy her books. Tilts glass to a job well done!

Could not wait for this book and was not disappointed. I loved it great work Raven. Need nick story now please lol

Slow & quite dull, bad grammar throughout, the writer writes how she speaks. I couldn't finish it, too much internal dialogue & not enough dialogue between the male & female protagonist, not to mention the female protagonist angst.
