I always enjoy the adventures of the "Sisters" and "Vigilantes".

This story involving some of the inner circle of the President of the United States and the Madam and her girls from an exclusive escort service need the special team work of all members of the Sisters and extended group to diffuse the situation and keep it from becoming public knowledge.

I find it especially interesting that shortly after reading this book that some members of the FBI are in the spotlight for a similar "event" causing President Obama considerable embarrassment.

onother good book by Fern Michaels. This had some unusual trists and turns that I enjoyed. Having the women plan the projects is fasinating
and different from
Charles' point of veiw. I liked that the Women were proud of their accomplishments.

Lily Flowers (her current name) is the madam of Happy Day Camp for Boys and Girls in Pahrump, Nevada; a brothel sixty miles outside Las Vegas. She is outraged when DC politicos in all three branches threaten to destroy her. She arranges to give copies of her records to Nevada lawyer Cosmos Cricket and threatens to expose to the world these outstanding righteous citizens who have been coming to her "summer camp" as clients for years.

However, someone took Lily's threat personally and kills her. Her cutthroat lawyer Lizzie Fox calls in a favor from the Sisterhood who owe her big time to take a close look at the homicide. The most likely suspect is someone inside the Beltway who got away with murder; but not if they can help it. However, the magnificent seven understand the cost could be the pardon from President Martine Connor as this inquiry leads to the White House, the Congress and the Supreme Court.

With a nod to the DC Madam, RAZOR SHARP is an entertaining Sisterhood thriller that is stratospherically over the top of the Washington Monument. The story line is fast-paced from the moment Lily leaves Cosmos with the sign of the V as he rightfully assumes means vengeance and never slows down. Although the key support cast is never RAZOR SHARP and the plot seemingly implausible, fans will enjoy the latest escapades of the stalwart sassy sister seven as once again friendship matters.

I'm having trouble believing that this book was ever published. At best, it reads like notes for a book Michaels is planning to write in future. At worst, it doesn't read at all. I'm not sure if the greater fault belongs to the author or the editor, but the publisher was definitely out to lunch the day s/he let this one get into print.

A word of explanation: I bought this book while snowbound in a downtown hotel; I needed reading material for the night and my selection was limited to this book or a Harlequin Romance. In retrospect, the Harlequin Romance would have been the better pick.

Razor Sharp apparently is a continuation of a series about "The Vigilantes," but unlike most authors, Ms. Michaels assumes the reader already knows the characters and spends very little time explaining who these people are, or why we should care. I certainly didn't know them, and by page 100, I was glad I didn't--they were mostly pompous, self-absorbed bores. Their dialogue was stilted to the point of unreadability; the author couldn't seem to decide if she should write in first, second or third person and flopped between them indiscriminately.

The plot is fairly simple: A madam, the classic hooker-with-a-heart-of-gold, brought the girls from her brothel to Washington DC for two parties with prominent politicians and lobbyists. Never mind that in real life this would barely make a blip on the news radar; in THIS book the news threatens to destroy the President's administration. The "Vigilantes" must figure out a way to punish the "perverts," i.e., the johns, without harming the poor ladies of the evening or toppling the first female administration. I sincerely hope that the first real female administration is headed by someone with more brains than Michaels' version. And why Ms. Michaels believes that someone who uses a prostitute's services is automatically a "pervert" is never really explained--maybe Ms. Michaels doesn't understand the meaning of the word.

After a lot of thrashing around and wiggling out of impossible scrapes, the Vigilantes manage to corner the miscreants and ship the unrepentant off to a boy-brothel in Thailand; again, why any brothel would want a bunch of old, fat men is not explained.

The last third of the book is actually previews of coming Michaels novels (and, to be fair, they seem better-written; maybe a different editor took charge). Normally I'd be indignant that I'd paid full price for only two-thirds of the book, but this one was so bad I was actually relieved. There may actually be a good story in Razor Sharp, but I wish Ms. Michaels had hired a writer to bring it out. The only explanation I can think of is that Ms. Michaels is capitalizing on the popularity of previous volumes by churning out pages as fast as she can type. I wish she'd think more of her readers than that.

I LOVE to read, anything. I can enjoy a handyman's catalog, a romance novel, a cook book, or a scientific journal, but NOT Razor Sharp. Ok, so I didn't know it was a series, MAYBE that's why I can't read this book. (Although I've had no trouble picking up books in the middle of other series.) Or maybe that's why others could read it. Perhaps they were hoping to get some new character development- Sorry, in the 85 pages I made it, and it took several tries to get that far, even though one couple got married, the characters were flatter than Flat Stanley. The subject matter, that high-profile guys in Capital Circle got involved in a sex crime, is tiring. Maybe it was just the constant refrain that the Madam is always the one that gets jail time and the johns get excused for their behavior. The dialogue was not natural or believable in any way. The only thing that kept pushing me on was the mystery of the Madam, Lily Flowers, but the rest was too inept to bother. Finally, I'm throwing in the towel. It's the first time I've done that in over 10 years. Save yourself the trouble, and pass on this one.

Charles is still away and the Sisters have another mission. Someone is trying to make a Madam from Las Vegas the fall girl for a DC party. Someone is also after the President. The Sisters are on the job

Razor Sharp by Fern Michaels was released in 2009. More advenyures of the Sisterhood. Withe the president involved the corruption goes right to the top. Fans of Fern Michaels will like this the most.

The first woman president of the United States asks for a second favor from the Sisterhood as her term is about to erupt into a major sex-scandal, but even with the promise of a presidential pardon the "girls" come down on the side of the madam and refuse to become involved in a cover-up for the "johns."
As in each of the Sisterhood series Fern Michaels has a firm twist of events for the reader in RAZOR SHARP, while she adds interest in some new and old love interests.

I have loved all of the earlier Sisterhood books. However since she started the new "Rules Of The Game" part of the series they have been horrible. The dialogue is getting ridiculous, who talks like the characters in this book? There is basically no plot at all anymore in her books. The whole concept of the original group of women has flown out the window. They are just not worth reading anymore. Check them out at your library if you are curious as to what happens to the sisters.

I enjoyed reading this book but thought it was not as good as previous Sisterhood books.
When I bought I didn't know that there were 3 other short book reviews included.

Therefore there was less to read about the Sisterhood than I thought. I will continue to
read these books as there are 2 more coming in the future.

Fern Michaels needs to sharpen her writing skills! This book is a real disappointment compared to earlier books in The Sisterhood series. Has Fern Michaels ever listened when men talk to each other? Apparently not, because the guys in this book talk like the gals do. It is completely unbelievable dialog.

Reading the Sisterhood Series I can hardly wait to get to the end of the book to read about all the things that the characters in the book accomplish. All of the characters feel so real and I can usually say boy I understand where they are coming from. I have enjoyed this book in the same way and now I say let's get to the next book.

Five star rate.

Really enjoy this series and author. A good read for every one. I am just having a hard time getting books in the correct order! I have read a few out of order and still really enjoyed them. The audio versions are great, you can work and still enjoy.

This book is less believable than her others in this series, if possible. There is a poorly developed and almost no plot and a lot of the action is not explained, does not occur and is not at all logical. She keeps alluding to the great Charles who has left the scene for some mysterious reason. Perhaps she should bring him back, as the books with him, though not great, were at least passable. I think it is time she stopped writing this series, as she has obviously written all she can (that is still good reading and worth the time and effort). I would not recommend it to anyone.
