Imagine a Mafia romance set in the world of Pride and Prejudice. It is a very good read because you keep wondering what the intentions of Gregory are. And the guy is scary. I really wondered why the women fell for him. Yes he is very good looking but is rude, lethal and bossy.

I'd forgotten how good historical romances could be!! This was a really good book. Gregory and Arabella were one of the best romance couples I've read in a long time. Gregory wasn't a very nice man, but his love for Arabella was so special. I love this author and she came through with flying colors with this book!!!!!

This is a dark and twisted erotic novel. I wouldn't call it a romance by any means. However, it is interesting. It's possesive, vengeful, sensual, and the two lead characters share a chemistry that it portrayed well. But I didn't care for that extremely short and unnecessary epilogue; it seemed to try to glaze over the disfunctions of the relationship between the two characters in a clipped paragraph.

The story and characters were interesting even if slightly underdeveloped. I think the author or editor needs to find better descriptions that sneer and leer. I think a bit of polish would make thus author great.

I absolutely love historical and regency romances, and luckily received an ARC copy of this book from the author. I've read all of Addison Cain's previous books, and have to say this was one of her lighter stories, but still equally wonderful read. The plot was very suspenseful and keeps you guessing about the characters' true motives until the very end. My only wish was the epilogue was a bit longer and descriptive as I always like to know what happens at the end, and how everything turned out.

Historical romance is not my favorite genre. However, I had to read this because I am addicted to this author. While this wasn't my favorite by this author I still found myself in awe of her world building skills.

The games that bring villains down combined with the dark knight in shining armor. I loved this book, the characters original and the plot unique. The author brought my emotions out to play. Righteous anger, hurt, lust, humor; this book had it all. I definitely enjoy reading from this author and can't wait for more.

Thoroughly enjoyed it. A Regency equalizer. A strong heroine that has great friends that have strong loyalty. Brutal villains. Some rather racy love scenes and a great story makes for a fast fun read.

Darkness and intrigue will keep you turning these pages. Addison Cain has mined a mysterious world that is unique and foreboding. I couldn't wait, paragraph after paragraph, to find what was next, why, and oh my.

So full disclosure. I really dislike period pieces. A few months ago when I first read the synopsis for this book, I assumed I wouldn't even read it so I wouldn't be disappointed in an Addison Cain book. Then this book kept popping up on my recommendations, taunting me. I gave in after a whole two days. I have zero self control. BUT SO GLAD I READ IT. This book was so good. I adore dark romances, and this was deliciously dark. I loved the banter between Gregory and Arabella, and was hooked on the storyline from the start. This book was slightly different from the authors other books, but that fact kept me guessing the whole time! This is my 7th book I have read by her, and my 7th 5 star rating (which I don't always give) highly recommend this book and all others by Addison Cain!

I'm not a normal historical romance reader, but if Addison Cain writes it, I read it. This wasn't your normal romance (virgin meets man, they sleep together, happy ending) story. I like that the characters have a past. Bad things actually do happen to them. Her characters have flaws, But Cain has a way with words that make you forget their bad personality traits and root for people you usually wouldn't.

This is currently my absolute favorite author. Normally I like books that have more of a sci if theme to them but I will read anything this author writes. Truly you cannot go wrong with any of her books. Enjoy!

Dark Side of the Sun: (A Regency Dark Romance) by Addison Cain

4 Stars

This is my first read by this author, and I did enjoy it even though it isn't my normal choice of genre..Historical novels take me time to get into as this one did and some of the words threw me off here and there but I keep trying because there is so much I love about any book in the historical romance genre. In saying all of that I really did enjoy reading this. It wasn't as dark as I was expecting which was great but our “hero” was a bit tough to like, by the end I seriously was pulling for these two and do wish their feelings for each other outside of the physical part had been described a bit more.

I am looking forward to seeing what else this author has available because there were many aspects of this book I really did love, the writing style in most of the story was great and I loved the interaction between our main characters.

Overall I would recommend this book especially to those who love a good historical novel with a tinge of dark thrown in.

Addison Cain has quickly become one of my favorite authors; not just of dark romance, not just of fiction, but of all time. The way she weaves banter within the dialogue creates characters with so much depth with so little effort. Rarely do I feel as though she is telling me something outright or simply to tell it. This story is no exception to her effortless prose.

Gregory is a villain, and I loved the story all the more for it. Edmund is no good. The popular crowd of courtesans, ladies, and gentlemen, is full of liars, thieves, and frauds. Arabella is trapped at every turn and no censure will be granted if she is caught in the throws.

To read of Arabella is to love her. She is all of us. With the spirit and pluck every woman has, some hide, and others, pridefully display. She is all of us. With her quiet candor and incomprehensible vulnerability. She is dynamic and light. She is all of us. A woman, living in a world that would have her be anything but what she is; a woman with will.

He is the snake. He is the devil in the details. The whisper on the wind. Of which He, I refer, you'll have to read to find out.

This unexpected HEA is wonderfully written and moves so quickly I was harrowed(hehe) to see it end.

I RECEIVED AN ADVANCE COPY IN EXCHANGE FOR MY HONEST REVIEW.

Captivating, sexy and entertaining. This book is filled with so much excitement and adventures that you don't want to stop reading until you have gotten to the end. I liked how Gregory really saw Arabella and allowed her to be herself. In spite of the darkness it is a powerful love story between the two. This love story weaves the whole book together. Fabulous read, I recommend for everyone. I have volunteered to read and leave a review for this book.

Arabella and Mr. Gregory Harrow did not hit it off well, disdain and mistrust clouds their relationship as tenant and landlord. When Arabella's past comes to destroy her, can she trust Mr. Harrow enough to survive? The more she pushes him away, the more you are drawn in until you don't know whose side you are on. This darker time period romance immediately brings the reader into Arabella's world and insists you stay there until the bittersweet end. Full of twists, misdirection and a man with a mission, you will not be disappointed in this book!
