This is new. Isabella Starling, as you might know (or maybe not), is amongst one of my favourite authors. In 2017, she made it to my top 5 favourite authors and her books - mesmerizing. So when she decided to separate her books into new categories, i was curious. I mean, she created Isabella Darling for her sweet and adorable stories. And now, she's created a new alter ego - Fawn Bailey for all her dark novels while Isabella Starling are for her angsty and dark novels like Pet and Peep Show.

Needless to say, i jumped on Fawn Bailey like a couponer looking for the next best sale. It's dirty. It's mesmerizing. And it's insanely inappropriate, but at this point, i really can't bring myself to care.

Blushing Pink Rose is the prequel to Fawn Bailey's newest series. It's short - i read it in just under 30 minutes, so it gives you pretty good idea who Harlow is and how she's survived so many years after the death of her mother. Her life is dancing. It's become a core principle in her - encompassing her life, dreams and goals. It's everything. And then there's Thorn. We don't know much about him other than the fact that he's got his eye on Harlow and he's planning something with her.

The fact that this is a prequel makes all the suspense all that much more entrancing. It's not what you would expect from Isabella Starling - honestly, i don't think i've ever seen her write a prequel to any of her series, so this is was more than a little interesting. There was murder, suspense, darkness and hope all rolled into one. It'll be something to watch this author develop her series from this one taste of what she will develop, and my only hope is that through Fawn Bailey, Isabella Starling will unleash 'the dark side' (star wars pun not intended!! Lol)

A short prequel to a new series by Isabella Starling writing as Fawn Bailey, Blush Pink Rose, follows the characters of Harlow Granger, a young ballet dancer who dreams of one day making a name for herself on center stage, and Thorn, who we only catch a glimpse of his behavior, but know that he has already been watching/stalking Harlow for some time. As Harlow’s day to day life consists of practicing and training, we are given a glimpse into the world of a ballet dancer.. though there is so much more to this story then it appears. What will happen to Harlow when she eventually comes across Thorn? And what about her ballet troupe friends, Carina and Amber, who we get a glimpse of as well? We’ll just have to wait for the next book to see what happens next.

This was a fantastic prequel to the Rose and Thorn series! In this short novella we get a glimpse into three of the characters and who they are. Harlow is an innocent young woman whose biggest dream is to have a future in the ballet. Thorn is a mystery. We don't get much insight into him, but we do get a hint of just how dark he could be. There is another character who knows a dark secret, but since they are not mentioned in the blurb I don't want to give away who it is. I will say I am intrigued as to what part this person might play in the storyline. This prequel has me anxiously waiting for the day Blood Red Rose comes out so I can find out what happens next!

This one is obviously not meant for a younger audience. There are suggestions to sexual feelings and violence that might be sensitive to younger readers.

Gripping your attention almost from the very start, this is an easy and fast-paced short story that will leave you craving more as soon as you finish reading it.

You will already get a glimpse into the characters and see what type of people they are and can potentially become. Personally, I would like to see how the major events in this story change Carina specifically.

Hoping to read more of these characters' story soon...

I volunteered to read an Advanced Reader Copy of the prequel for Blush Pink Rose and to submit an honest review.

When I reached the end of this prequel, I was sad; I want to know more and cannot wait to see what happens to Harlow and her friends.

Tommy's murder adds another depth to the story-line. I'm not sure how I feel about Thorn at this point though some of his actions thus far are a little creepy.

I recommend reading this prequel to get a taste of what is to come next.

This is the short story that only shows that will be really dark and would be able to shake you up.
Harlow is so innocent, sweet and I really liked her. Thorn - he was an enigma to me. I have no idea what will come out of his character - besides darkness. Add to it girl that knows a secret - but what it is?
Check new series written by one of the best authors I have read - with using her pen name!

Holy smokes!! This is just the prequel, its dangerously intriguing, & dark. I can hardly wait to get my hands on the full book. I am loving it, bring on the darkness. Harlow is so innocent & trusting, seeing the goodness and beauty in the light, yet she's blind to the danger lurking in the dark.

Great prequal. This really sets the scene and I can't wait to see where this dark and twisted tale will lead between Rose and Thorn. She is a young and innocent ballet dancer trying to make ends meet and he is the dark mysterious stranger that wants to claim her as his own. Lots going on with drama and suspense at every turn, I am definitely intrigued and my curiosity is peaked to see where this goes.

A short, dark, but interesting prequel to "Blood Red Rose", that gives you a good idea of who Harlow is and how the dark Thorn has found her. Harlow is innocent and devoted to becoming a ballet dancer. Seeing it's a prequel, you are left hanging waiting for the next intriguing shadow to darken your bookshelf.

This prequel gives the reader a taste of the dark that will progress throughout the series and impact the characters. We are introduced to Harlow, the sweet innocent ballet dancer and Carina, who is also a dancer but slightly older and not so innocent. We also meet Thorn and see glimpses into his mind and intentions towards Harlow.
I cannot wait until the series is released.

I loved the prequel to Thorn and Harlow's story. I thought the dual pov but Carina's thoughts were added, which made it even better. The reader gets to delve into the thoughts of a character that isn't in the forefront. There is also a sense of foreboding.... This makes me want MORE. I need to know what will happen. Doesn't matter how tragic.

Although it is very short, the book really made me want to read the novel. I found Harlow’s character to be strong, if a bit naïve sometimes, so I can’t wait to see how the author will develop her story in the upcoming books.

Spoilers:
The only problem I had with the story was Carina. I didn’t really understand the point of her POV. The murderer wasn’t a surprise, neither was her involvement, so if felt an useless justification of her ‘not being a bitch’.

I’m so excited for this series and this little taste just made me crave more! Thorn already sounds very dark and I’m curious to see how Rose will react to their meeting. I’m also interested to see if the final chapter’s events will come up in any way in following books.

Harlow is young and innocent and has no idea the creepy turn of events that are planned to domino for her future. This short prequel sets the reader up for the author's planned series well. I am looking forward to reading what will happen to Harlow and Carina in the next book.
