I really enjoyed Enchanter. Terry did a great job as usual. Not quite up to par with his other books but that is more due to some character building and his deep deep desire to introduce you to more technical terms in regards to magic.

This book struggles in many areas. The editing leaves a lot to be desired and by book 7 it is a disgrace to have so many. The story is rather drawn out. So many technical discussions and so much pontificating. Then the greatest mage in centuries gets hamstrung by a simple annulment spell or so it is written. All of a sudden our hero is far less capable then before. How convenient for the story. It is really hard to follow an author that uses the same old tricks. If he did not want the hero to be so powerful at this stage in the story, then don't make him as such. Under no circumstances should you make the hero to be some naive, arrogant fool. Unfortunately that is what has happened here. Cliff hangers are fine if you really need them. When you are at book 7 in the series, such cheap tricks are not usually advised.

This is another great book in the series. The author has done an excellent job making me care about the characters in the novel. The world that has been created is rich and detailed. I very much enjoyed the book and recommend it highly.

If you are new to this series I strongly suggest starting with the first book and reading through the series. It will be difficult to follow the plot and identify with the characters fully without reading the prior novels in the series.

If you are a reader bothered by typos wait for the final version that is scheduled to be released in July.

Of course, I recommend starting with book 1. However, this book continues the entertaining reading I have enjoyed since book 1. I'm an avid reader in this genre and the author's approach is fairly unique and fresh. The characters are well defined and it is easy to keep up with them and remember them without the author trying to go in too many different directions. The story stays centered on the same characters throughout the series. (I mention this twice as too many authors recently seem to be trying to see who could add the most characters in their series and it just gets confusing & you are left with a number of participants you don't care about and little is written about those you do care to follow) Additionally, I could be bias on the series though as I have always had an affinity for building things from the ground up and basically the main character is doing the same and succeeding beyond what he dreamt of. The book has "light" and humorous moments as well as giving the reader some incentive for introspective thoughts, not to mention the interplay of politics is taken to a much deeper level than normal. I highly recommend the entire series and I am very glad the author made the series available on Kindle Unlimited as I doubt I would found the series or author without that. I'll be on the look out for other books/series by Terry Mancour now.

Aside from some spelling errors, this book continues with the same tone and pacing of precious books in the series. I enjoy the books with less warmongering, and this is one of those. I continue to eagerly read on the series and I am
Very glad these are free with Kindle Unlimited.

I enjoyed all other spellmonger books, however this one was hard to get through. Way too much internal whining, like the main character was a indecisive teenager. Also way too soft.. the overall tone is extremely different than previous books, almost like the author is having a mid-life crisis or something... He lets one character try to assasinate him multiple times, and also his children and wife, and all he does is capture the person so that they can escape and try again. He never did execute that threat to his family.

This book had a lot do discussion and explanations about this worlds magic...necessary? No. Add anything to the story? And why spend so much time explaining fake magic and then get real English wrong. The typos were very distracting.

Continuation of Series... stress on "Continuation".
It has a plot and it continues the series, but the characters and situations are not really developed further.
It seems more of a plot outline than a story.
Read it if you've read the rest of the series

Great series and well worth the time to read them all. These books are really well written. There is a lot of humor and artistic use of language. This book is really all about building on aspects of Magic that have occurred thus far in the series.

My husband and I have been going through the series of all the Spellmonger series. I hope the others that haven't been transferred yet, will be soon. We have been through all of the series and really enjoyed them. We were even listening to them instead of watching TV.
