Not the best Johanna Lindsey.
I kept hoping for the book to get better but it never really did. The heroine was too weak of a character. The book started out describing the heroine as someone who had been taught how to fight and protect her self and be self sufficient when it came to her life being in danger, and when she met the hero, i felt she became a damsel in distress. A bit spineless for my taste.
Sad. Left much to be desired.

Johanna Lindsey is one of my favourite authors, her books got me back into reading as an adult. I have read all of her books and love each of them however "When Passion Rules" is my favourite so far. We all know how it's going to end but it's how we get there and this book takes you all the way.

Great to see another Anderson marrying into Malory family. I was lol at the reaction of Tony when realized he just told a man how to seduce his daughter. I just wish it would have them well (Boyd and Matey) together.

This was an enjoyable Malory story. If you love the Malorys (especially Anthony and James - proabably the 2 most memorable Malorys), you'll more than likely enjoy this one. There are plenty humorous moments and it's a quick and easy read. I didn't fall in love with it the way I have many of Lindsey's stories though. I believe the point of the story, which I won't reveal, weakens the romance between Boyd and Katey. One of the strengths of Lindseys novels are the strong personalities of her heroes, and that is why it's so easy to fall in love with them....but I believe that usual strength suffered in this story and we didn't get to know Boyd as well as we needed to. Also, circumstances were a little too convenient to be believable - the line was really stretched here to make all the connections. Still, I love the Malorys and will always read their stories.

I, like most of the other people writing reviews, have been a Lindsey fan for years. I remember a time when I would literally mark the date on a calendar to remind me when a new "lindsey" would be out. The last few books, have been lackluster at best, and this one is no exception. It was better than the last few, but it did not have the lush, fufilling, thrilling plot like her first works. It was weak with forgetable charactors and storyline. This is a sad day in historical romance history, when a Lindsey is no longer a "must read". I miss the Lindsey's of past...will we ever see her again?

For both long-time Malory fans with so much rehash of old stories and for new readers as well since they are scrambling for hints about the immense cast of characters, most of whom are irrelevant to the main story. The main love story is very thin with little development as a couple. Just too neat with unknown family connections.
